Hi,
For a couple of days now, the GPS doesn't work with the CM10.1 nightlies.
I checked my device with an app called "Z-Device test" and it says there is no GPS in my phone.
Nevertheless, the hardware is OK, as it works with the stable builds of CM.
Any ideas?

I'm having similar problems. Although Z-Device test thinks that I do have GPS. None of the apps ever get a reading and the little icon on the status bar never appears.
I've tried resetting it using GPS status to reset all cached GPS data and also 'Download GPS assistance data' but it has not helped.
Its been fixed... New nightlies are back with gps :|

Let me elaborate, sorry I'm relatively new to cyanogen mod. I've got it set to nightlies and check for updates is turned on to daily. I've also checked manually but there are no updates available.
If I check the build date in about phone it is Fri Jul 12 12:25:13 PDT 2013.
This correlates to:

There seem to be more recent updates but I'm not sure how to tell if I've got them..
Hopefully it will start to roll down into the other CM based roms now as well.
It may be that you have to delete your ROM as the dirty upgrade will also contain the old/broken things as well. I had to re-do mine from a fresh corrected rom before things started to work as I expected. My $.02.
It has started working this evening...does CM update quietly? I thought I would see a different update version install if it did update.
Perhaps it has fixed itself somehow. I'm a bit confused about this.

You have to flash the nightlies through recovery in order to update. A full wipe is recommended before flashing.

My Nook has been around a lot with new OS's. I've always had some problem with CM7 10.1 ... Finally I tried Succulent's 10.0 dated 12/31 and I have a very well behaved Nook. No WiFi problems. No more problems with battery drain. I'm DONE. Thanks to the developers
Yep! I still keep the Tablets in trhe Family on Succulents 1231 CM10 build. Super stable! I see no reason to "upgrade". I like to experiment so I' have tried other builds, but none of them give me anything I want that isn't in this "old" build.
I am filled with admiration for all the developers though. They do such amazing work! :good:

I've only found one problem with this build. Sometimes I will be in the middle of working and my tablet will shutdown and reboot. It's not a full reboot though? I've also had WIFI dropping but this can be fixed by taking a WIFI lock in the command program
I haven't had one single unwanted reboot in the year I've had it installed. Go figure! Can't say I've noticed any wifi problems either, but then wifi here is not as reliable as I'd want so maybe I just took for granted it was the wifi in the house acting up when it may have been the Tablet.

I had one "spontaneous reboot" incident in all the 10 months on Succulent's 10.0 12/31 builds, compared a few incidents a month with 10.1 and 10.2. No WiFi issue whatsoever.
FWIW I am running CM11 M2 snapshot at the moment, it's not bug free but its performance is surprisingly quite snappy.

Just use recovery to back up your current CM10.0 before flashing CM11, that way you can revert back to CM10.0 if need be without any sweat.
To flash CM11, you'll need to use CWM 6.0.4.5 (or TWRP 2.6.3.1) or later version; see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49024436&postcount=105 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49111924&postcount=8 on how to create flashable recovery zip to update recovery in emmc.
Be aware that CM11 sometimes randomly fails to boot (or reboot), see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49082178&postcount=131, so don't panic and give up if it fails to boot first time after installation.
I flashe CM11 and it seem to run great. Only problem is ... I can't load a lot of my application from the Play Store. When I try to install I get this error message. "my device isn't compatible". Some will install and others won't?
Went back to 10.0 CM11 has that awful low battery poltergeist thing. Get down to 20n percent battery and the ghost takes over. 10.0 doesnt do this

i would also like to endorse this build for a few reasons:
1. super snappy, UI is smoother than 4.2 JB and kitkat
2. the old tablet UI is in this ROM and it's really easy to enable and configure, which is awesome because the old tablet UI is amazing
3. yeah no wifi problems, battery life is pretty solid too from what i've seen.
on cm10.1.3 official, i was getting FC's of the process "com.android.media" on boot. doesn't happen here, i don't think it happened on kitkat either. if you want a really stable tab, flash this build.
Looks like I am taking the wifes Nook back and checking this out!
After having a ton of stability issues and horrible battery life I tried going from CM11 back to this build. Problem is I am getting an error trying to flash it. Do I need to revert back to an earlier CWM to flash CM10?

You need to use earlier version of CWM, e.g., 6.0.3.x or 6.0.2.x.
(Alternatively you can replace the update-binary file (in the folder \META-INF\com\google\android\) in the CM10 ROM zip file with its new corresponding version in the CM11 ROM zip file).
good release version?
I'm running this 12/31 build of succulent's and it is indeed quite stable. I noted it is a debug build. I'd assume a release build would be a little quicker & smaller. Is there a release build equivalent to this package? thx!

Nougat for Ascend Mate 2 MTL203
So this post caught my eye... Is someone working on Android 7.0 for the Ascend Mate 2 or is it already out there?
SHM, a dev who brought us TWRP and a few 6.0 ROMs, is working on 7.0. Understandably, he doesn't like people asking for ETA's so he'd prefer us not to bug him.
Also, since CM officially supports our phone, won't we be getting an official CM14 as well?

@nate5711: I think this CM14.1 runs more smooth than CM13 (official). It hasn't crashed yet; previously CM13 rebooted occasionally. The battery life is very nice also: 9-10 hours SOT, similar to CM13.
I have been using TWRP by Matt (this CM14.1 Developer) for a while, so I didn't see any problem with it (the previous version is 3.0.M5-0 released on July 19; https://android.cmphys.com/twrp-mt2/). The only thing is TimeService which led to inaccurate time in TWRP, but I always named Nandroid backup myself which is much shorter while with more information. It has been fixed as Matt stated:good:
I did make a Nandroid backup of CM13 using TWRP-3.0.M5.0 and I am sure there is no problem to switch between this CM14.1 and CM13 without loss of data. I tried both clean and dirty flash of CM14.1 (over CM13), and currently I've been running the dirty-flashed one flawlessly. I tried switch between CM14.1 and CM13 with TWRP and there's no problem at all.
Sure, as I mentioned earlier, LiveDisplay night mode doesn't work. There's no CMTE either. Otherwise everything is good on my end.
Thanks to Matt for his wonderful job! :good::good::good:
BTW, Matt has his CM13-Dec 26 nightly available to us also and he said the Camera (CM13) has been fixed. TBH, I haven't tried his CM13-20161226 yet since I am very satisfied with his CM14.1-20161225.
Dirty flashed runs fine also had to re flash gapps to get it to fully boot but other then the missing theme engine it seems way smoother then the last good build of cm 13 great work matt and thanks for keeping this phone alive

Yes, arm 7.1 GApps required even for dirty flash over CM13.
Thanks for the helpful info, dl the rom and I'm very much enjoying it..
Thank you for providing the latest build. I have installed it and seems to be working fine. Need to use it for a few days to cycle the battery to know how good is the backup.
Thank You so much for the update so far is very smooth. Is anyone else having the camera randomly popping up during a phone call? I have tried to download gapps again and reflashed still having the issue. Am i missing something in the settings?

That's a negative. My understanding is the soak test is needed in the plus because of finger print scanner issues. I have the XT1625 and it runs great without the soak test. Flash the quark kernel too. Waaaaaay better benchmark results.

I just installed it. Definitely didn't need the soak test. VoLTE works too when I called my voicemail to check. No crash on the Gallery app either like I've seen reported. Were you trying to install the arm64 gapps? I could only install the arm gapps.
I updated to the last nightly build which seems to have fixed the gallery bug for me, but now the camera can't access the sdcard to save pictures or videos when the card is set as internal.
Running 12222016 as of this morning. Have been using it since it first hit the streets. Seems a little unstable. While it's running, it runs great. However, for no apparent reason it reboots my device. I can't seem to pinpoint the cause as it happens sporadically and randomly.
I noted that the blue light filter "sort of" works. It has to be manually activated. Tried the automatic route but it's hit or miss.

Im a dumb, I was installing other gapps, now Im not getting any issue, only about video recording but I'll fix it flashing a boot.img.
Thanks to all.
I always install ROM boot it then go to browser and search Gapps it automatically finds the one I need then just download and reboot to recovery and install so I don't have any issues the Roms are all comparable for bothering devices but I think arm is different between devices if that helps anybody

Hi,
I bought a Moto G4 for Christmas. I'll receive it tomorrow, and so I'm looking for a good custom rom. I had the Moto G 2014 LTE (thea) running CM14.1. I notice that the last CM build available for athene is the 20161225, and I'd like to know if it's stable. Does it have an option to make volume buttons control media volume instead of ringtone, for instance ?
Thank you, 'n have a nice day !
Yo is cm 14.1 gonna get xposed
I installed the CM 14.1 12/25 nightly on a XT1625 motoG4 non-plus. Upon reboot, the OS asked me to input my password. It was unable to decrypt my data.
I had a pattern PIN, so I looked up the proper numeric sequence and entered it, and the OS told me "my password was correct but the data was corrupt" and suggested I wipe my phone.
I tried this several times with different passwords, and even with completely incorrect passwords it said it was correct but the data corrupt. So I had to wipe my data. After wiping data, nougat 7.1 came up fine.
Note I have a SDcard set as adaptable storage. My guess (and it is only a guess) is this is what screwed me over.
Has anyone been using this for a while? I know it's nightly, but just curious if it's mostly usable. Would like to get off MM and tired of waiting for Official Nougat

You can use the latest official version of CyanogenMod. So far I had neither bugs nor crashes. The last version is cm-14.1-20161225-NIGHTLY-athene.zip
Otherwise, you can also use the official soak test from Motorola. This is also based on Anroid 7.0

Thanks! I found the latest Nightly and also an updated LineageOS (replacement for Cyanogen since they've stopped) version, might try them both out. I was perusing the Soak Test and saw it doesn't work with XT1625 devices unfortunately. I have the XT1625 non-Amazon version with Republic Wireless. Saw someone posted earlier in this thread that Republic Wireless was working fine on CM 14.1 Nightly, so that gave me some incentive as well.
Hi guys,
as LineageOS 15.1 is just around the corner and I had a few spare CPU cycles, here's the current build which I did as a 'code of honor'-member. Just flash with TWRP as usual, add gapps (stock are too big) and optionally root.
Watch out as the whole rom might still lack a few features.
Sources are on https://github.com/LineageOS
Credits to anyone who worked on them including intel for their buggy CPUs enabling me to build.

FAQs.:
Q: What patches did you include?
A: None. Pure LineageOS as it would come from the build server
Q: So this IS the official LineageOS rom?
A: In theory it's the same thing, but I am NOT a linageos developer
Q: What Gapps package did you use?
A: Nano. Stock is too big as it wouldn't fit on /system
Q: Support?
A: None officially. But ask - maybe someone has an idea.
Q: What works?
A: Phone rings, I'm able to answer and do calls, BT works, Wifi... annoying texts already arriving. I assume it's working.
Q: Bugs?
A: You tell.
Q: Is it complete?
A: I doubt it. Some translations are still missing. Keep in mind it's an early version of lineageOS
Q: Why did you build it?
A: Because I did not want to wait for the official release and live on the edge.
Q: Why does a girl build roms?
A: Short answer: because I can.

Honestly, I did not check yet as camera is not one of my basic needs. Will do so as soon as I get home.
If it does not work yet, I do not intend to fix too much stuff as I want to stay on the official sources. If there's a patch to cherrypick from gerrit, it's something we may talk about.
Camera does not work yet, but as far as I can see there are a few things in review to be submitted. Stay tuned as I will be building the rom again as soon as those changes are merged. In the meanwhile I may do some tinkering on my local build.

I've been keeping tabs on this every day and no one has touched it for weeks [emoji24] hopefully they just have code they're working on offline and just have to upload it and merge. Waiting is killing me though. Good to know it's getting close but probably will still wait since I'll probably do a full wipe once it's ready and don't want to do it twice.

I doubt that it's SELinux. Looking at the logcat the problem root seems to be the HAL and that we should use the CAF stack. Besides that some clocks seem to be out of sync (mainly front camera). If it would be SELinux, logcat/dmesg would show.
Download doesnt work
