When I place a call I always find it cumbersome to get rid of the call screen, not the main one, one that takes up about a fifth of the screen after you hit home button while on active call. How can I get rid of that ?

which dialer do you suggest for the x10 mini?
I have a further question: if during a call I press the right key (the one with the arrow) the phone enters the menu...how do I end the call then??
thanks
Best dialer would be ( personally ) SuperDial ( on the patched market )
Take a look at the screenshot
You can end the call only after the screen comes back!!!

Click to collapse
Scroll down the status bar menu, press the phone icon... end the call.
aTakePhone
Super dialer was my default in my old phone (DSTL1), on my X10 it doesnt looks good so i switched to aTakephone.. it works well.
if you goes to the menu screen or any other screen from active call, pull down ur notification bar from top and you can switch to the active call from there, then you can end call from your side.
swItched to atakephone , its neat

I wish to know if there's a mod/setting or any other way to be able to minimze the window of incoming call when it occurs.
I find myself getting calls but not wish to answer/reject but just let it ring so the other side wont know im ignoring him, but pressing home button wouldnt work.
Press power button will turn off the screen and stop ringing (for you, not other side).
Turn your phone that screen looks down. Before that make sure you tick option in sensor option, its so cool...i make it that way

the problem is that I dont want a way for ignoring a call,
I want a way to be able to remove the "on top" caller window.
When someone calls and i dont wish to answer, but lets say...Im navigating,
so I cant see the navigation window because the dialer is on top, and no matter what i do, unless I ignore the call, i cant minimize it.
thats the issue im looking for solution, not for ignoring calls
When writing a text message the 'Write message' area takes up the whole screen so you cannot see older text messages above the input area. Does anybody know how to reduce the size of the input area?
I have come from blackberry and find this one little niggle thats really quite annoying, not being able to see the text i am replying to whilst typing
Thanks
You minimize the keyboard by the button on the bottom-left. Then you can read messages again, and when you want to write, just tap input area again.
Hope this helps
or buy a phone with a bigger screen ;-)
But tje best thing to do is minimize the keyboard
It is because the send button appear when you enter the message, the button enlarged the input box. This is stupid design, so i use another SMS apps.
Hi guys, i have a little problem with the ICS dial out UI. I know the close call button is quite big, but it's placed in a crappy position because there's the call options menu beneath it. The problem is when i accidentally dial to the wrong number, i try to quickly end the outgoing call and either push one of the menu buttons or, as custom to end something, the back button, but that doesn't close the call. it actuall makes it worse 'coz it goes back to home and you need to go back into the dialer and close the call, at that point the person called usually has picked up and you're in the awkward position of saying you dialed the wrong number.
So to make it short, I would like to either put the dialer menu (mute etc.) above the end call button leaving the latter to cover the bottom part of the screen. Considering how laborious this could be, as an alternative, what can i do to set the phone so that when i hit the back button the dial out gets interrupted?
Any help appreciated

In the xperia general or android general?
He means the general section for your phone.
Like general section for xperia mini, mini pro, etc.
I hope someone can help me. After letting someone use my phone I now see a floating G and dots bar in the middle of my screen. Apparently the bar lets me know which screen I'm currently on in terms of number of screens. How can I move or remove this?
You can get rid of the "G" in Settings (probably under Home Screen), but the more direct way is:
Press and hold a vacant area of some screen. That will shrink the screen and show a bunch of installable apps.
Again, press a vacant area of the screen, and you will see all "enabled" screens (up to eight).
Drag the offending screen (the top left most) to the trash can.
Press the home button.
I think there's a way to get rid of the dots, but I'm not sure. I like them, so I've never had to research the issue.
