Anyone using Moon+ Reader with V10? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi ppl,
I use moon+ reader a lot but on the V10, the 2nd screen is blanked whenever I use moon+ reader (in reading mode).
In reading mode, moon+ reader takes up the whole screen... including the soft buttons on the bottom.
As there is no physical back button on the V10, this is very inconvenient.
If there any way I could make the 2nd screen work even in reading mode for moon+ reader?
Thanks!

Can't you just swipe up to get the soft buttoms to temporarily appear?

Thanks, that worked but if the 2nd screen worked .. it would be so much better. Since i usually only use a few apps and they r usually in the last use (2nd screen).
I thought the 2nd screen work independently? How can moon+ reader affect it?
SY Lim.

SS disappears on full screen apps. If you tap the middle of the screen in moon reader the home and second screen buttons appear.

Interesting. FBReader also blacks out the 2nd screen, but... A single tap brings the 2nd screen back.

Ahh... so the 2nd screen is designed to black out on full screen apps?
My bad, I didn't know that so I thought it was just moon+ reader problem.
(and could be rectify by some settings)
As I spend a bulk of my time on moon+ reader, not having the 2nd screen working seems like such a waste.
I know I can tap on it to call up the 2nd screen was wondering if there's a way to keep it always on.
I've grown to like the 2nd screen a lot you see.
However, when I'm playing game I do wish the 2nd screen would go away... I keep accidentally tapping on it while playing.
(landscape mode game especially)
Thanks.

I've got Moon+ Reader Pro. Tap the middle, go into the setting options, select Miscellaneous. First option is "Full screen mode". Keep full screen mode checked, select the gear icon to the right and uncheck "Immersive mode". With this configuration you loose a little bit of screen space at the bottom where the navigation bar is (still fades out when reading), but you get to keep the second screen when in reading mode.

Thanks for the info. Went into FBReader settings again. In case anyone wants the 2nd screen up all the time, just uncheck below...

screen off widget

hey all
I am looking for a widget that can simply turn the screen off, I press and the screen goes off.
I have searched but cant find anything that works
Thanks
I have seen a couple of apps in my travels go have a look in the android development I'm sure an xda member cooked one up a few weeks back, and from what i remember android does not switch off straight away like WM does it has a delay built in
I was looking for one of these some months ago.
I was told that there wasnt one which stopped the screen straight away, however I found on. UNFORTUNATELY, I can't find it again. (I am on my third Streak)
It wasn't badged as a screen off, but it was a single widget which locked the device (aka turned off the screen, as if you had pressed the power button)
I would love to find it again!
Screen off
http://android.konreu.com/applications/screen-off/
I don't see the point myself, why don't you just hit the power button
Yyhat link doesnt work no item found, the power button is in a weird spot for my liking and since i use no lock and open with th volume button
Then why don't you do a google search for an android app called 'scren off'

Pick up your android phone and go to somewhere called the 'android marketplace' you may even have an app already installed for that so no need to search for that thank goodness.
In the search bar enter 'sreen off' it should be at the top of the list
i have a question, maybe this is android related, maybe streak, not sure.
I come from WM6.5 background, so forgive me if this is a 'duh' question:
when I am listening to music, or recording or, anything really, if the screen turns off, it shuts the whole phone down. including wifi (loses connection)
is there a way to have the screen dim/off to save battery, but still be active.
biggest is music/recording. when I am recording something (meeting, etc) I have to force the screen to stay on in order for it to continue recording. same thing goes for uploading to youtube - i have to keep the screen on for it to continue it's connection.
Am I missing something??
Thanks for the help
try an app called "free power widget"
you can adjust the screen timeout so it is short or long
you can easily adjust screen brightness
you can adjust the wifi lock and a bunch of other settings.

There's something wrong with your connection, (that's your internet one, not the one within your head the connects your lobes together, especially the lobe containing common sense)
What you could do to stop you from losing your Wi-Fi connection when in sleep mode is try going into Settings -> Wireless controls -> Wi-Fi settings -> press menu button then Advanced -> then select Wi-Fi sleep policy and change the option to Never. This should I think keep Wi-Fi active when your screen is off (stops of the phone from switching to mobile data and by default is set to do so when the screen is off).

I am not an idiot
Coming from Windows Mobile, a SIMPLE power off app is hard to find on Android. I had one on my WM Touch Pro2 on my homescreen- simple tab and off.
Over the months of trying to find a simple FREE app- this is what I have so far encountered.
Screen Off .99 and Power Off .99- are available. But due to a so call security reason for Android, it will not power off the phone immediately- screen is off- but you can see the hardware lights on. I found another tip that you will have to modify an API to do so.
Yes, many, many, many, Google searches and this is what i found.
You can try a widget called Extended Controls. They are awesome and include a screen off widget, I use it all the time to turn my screen off.
Widgetsoid offers a hugely customisable power control widget which includes a screen lock button. It's working brilliantly for me on o2 2.2!

my finger tends to hit the playback position bar while i'm attempting to hit the home button, and ends up seeking me to the middle of the track. this is infuriating, especially given that i tend to listen to 1+ hr long mixes.
there's no way to increase the border on the bottom of the screen or anything is there? i could also switch music players, but i'd rather find a workaround that improves the situation with all apps. any ideas?

I have not come across this issue yet. I normally use the music widget which takes up a fraction of the screen. And I tried using the full screen to check out the issue, but my lifeproof nuud case is the reasoning for making it difficult to hit the menu or back button. Because of the case it has kinda trained me to hit a smaller area when going for the buttons (menu, home, or back).

%100 agree with you. It happens to me all the time with different apps. I, personally, start feeling that on screen button better that physical buttons.
<--------------- coming from Nexus phone
I think it's only really noticeable with thicker cases really, when I'm using my Seidio Active case it will nudge my thumb up into the screen every once in a while if I'm not paying attention because of that lip around the phone, whereas if I'm using my Spigen Slim Armor case I don't have that problem because of how ultra thin the lip is. The only thing I can think of that would help you out would be to use a custom rom with the ability to enable on-screen buttons like CM10.2 or something. Of course you'd lose screen real estate that way, but you wouldn't have to use the home button or soft keys anymore to get around. I am also hoping that Samsung will eventually ditch all physical and soft keys entirely and go with all on-screen controls like the Nexus. I'm pretty sure they won't though, they're as stubborn as Apple is.

Tilt sensor is really screwing up

So the phone is randomly rotating 90 degrees for no reason. Some times it cooperates, sometimes it's just spazzing out tilting back and forth rapidly, or refusing to go back to portrait at all. It's all over the place.
I am rooted and running busybox. Is there a module or any kind of app that I can use to assign a quick 90 degree rotate button to? Not an annoying drop down menu or anything that requires multiple presses. I'd love to just use a button in the digital navigation bar that would immediately rotate. I cant find any such function though.

Check out this thread; it may help you. Someone fixed their accelerometer using the app.
Edit: If that doesn't work, I use Xtended NavBar. It adds "pages" to your navigation bar and you can choose which toggles you'd like to have.

Edit: Nope, if anything it's worse now. Just watched it flip 6 times in a row, while holding it perfectly still.
Nope, sorry Xtended NavBar also doesn't work with this ROM it seems. Maybe it doesn't like the type of NavBar the phone uses.

Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else except either doing a factory reset or restoring an older backup from when everything was fine.
I am trying this.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.androgames.level&hl=en
And holy hell, at first the bubble was just going in all random directions. Numbers were instantly going from 0 to 25 and such. Just possessed. Calibration and reset did nothing. Then I decided to go to recents, and hit the wipe brush to clear all. Instantly cured the sensor issues. Can a background process somehow be corrupting the sensor? I'm just hoping this is a software issue and not a hardware issue.
Edit: I've also completely uninstalled GravityBox and busybox. Maybe they were an issue. We'll see. If it still happens, I hope I can pinpoint the background app causing the issue by eliminating them one at a time in recent apps.
It turns out that clearing recent apps isn't fixing it after all. I just sat and stared at bubble level while tilting and it literally took 45 full seconds before it suddenly realized it was tilted. Its like the tilt sensor just goes to sleep randomly.
Edit: Ok I'm using this now https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate&hl=en
I set forced landscape and forced portrait modes to two different shortcut actions via the NavBar thanks to GravityBox. It'd be ideal if I could just make only one button that flips between the two modes, but this will do. I also disabled the notification from the rotate app because it was annoying. It seems fine without it.

Question Issues with touchscreen accuracy?

Since I got my phone, I've noticed I often need to tap multiple times on the screen to "click" on what I want to open/activate. I never experienced something similar in the past with other devices.
At first, I thought it was a matter of screen sensitivity, but now I think it's more about the way the OS is registering taps.
See the following video: https://streamable.com/awblmr
There are two things:
If you click slightly above or on the side of an icon in the launcher, the app won't open. However, if you tap significantly below, it works fine (I prefer the latter behavior personally).
In chrome/bromite, if you swipe at the limit in between the tab icon and the status bar, it will both show tabs and pull the notifications.
Has anyone experienced this very irritating behavior? I mostly notice it when I want to do open apps, use the navigation bar, or type on the keyboard. It seems like it's a software "issue", so hopefully Google improves this.
I, too, am experiencing similar issues. I was chalking it up to the change from OP6t to the P6 until your post.

Good to know I'm not alone in this. I'm about to get a second unit, so I will do similar testing.
You are not alone. Same problem here with two Pixel 6 (mine and my wife's).
Just received my new unit, I have all the same display issues:
It feels cheap, especially in the middle:
https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1453025239537967105
Same rainbow effect when I tilt the phone
Same weird "touchscreen accuracy" as described here
Getting the unregistering taps on app icons. And also some lower app icon taps will open the app drawer. Both intermittently.

I've actually not seen this behavior. I do notice that the text below the icon seems to be part of the actual icon and if you click anywhere near that it will open the app. Other than that not really but I've only had it for a day or so. I have found that keeping my fingers moisturized eliminates errant touches and FP issues. Great for my skin but now I have to carry a little tube of Eucerine around.
I, too, was thinking it was just the slightly different keyboard position I still had to get used to...
I'm consistently having issues opening the emoji keyboard within Signal. I often have to repeatedly press the emoji button for the list to show up...

Same problems, especially on small items (like ships in Starfleet Command)
Definitely having this issue. With or without increased sensitivity. No screen protector.
Definitely experiencing touch accuracy issues in many places (pixel launcher, keyboard, quick settings, individual apps, settings, etc basically everywhere) I'd like to believe (hope) it's totally addressable in a software fix
I'm pretty sure the cause of this issue for me is that the phone is so big and heavy. It's hard for me to accurately touch the screen when my hand is struggling to hold the phone up.
This is part of why I hate the Pixel Launcher's "swipe up to open app drawer" gesture. It results in so many false positives when I'm just trying to click an icon, but the phone slips a bit and it gets registered as a swipe instead.

How To Guide Force full screen on all aps and force rotation to landscape

Forcing full screen:
Navigate to Main Screen > Display size under settings and set each app to Full Screen
Force Rotation:
Install the app called Rotation | Orientation Manager by Pranav Pandey from the play store
Set it to Full Sensor OVERRIDE SYSTEM and give it any permissions it asks for.
Set it to Start on boot within its settings.
I expected to, but did not have to, set it to run in the background or tell it to auto boot within battery optimization. It has been working for over a week now.
I turned off notifications so it runs silently.
Thanks for this, its a very useful app! However, I just realised I don't really need it!
When I first setup the Find N, I set every app to Full Screen (as you do), thinking why wouldn't you want as much screen as possible for every app? Some of those apps will only display in portrait, hence the problem that when they start up on the folding screen, they automatically rotate 90 degress, and therefore you have to turn the device to portrait to use the app.
But I just realised that almost all the apps I have (like 99.9%) that will only display in portrait, do not need the extra width of the folding screen, and in fact end up stretched width wise. As such, if you just put those apps back to a 4:3 ratio rather than full screen (which still uses most of the screen), then they display on the folding screen in landscape (though with grey bars down each side). Another benefit is that they also don't look stretched anymore.
Great alternative, thanks.

No worries. Having just been through all my portrait apps and done this, I've also noticed that almost none of them benefit from the extra width even when they have it as they haven't been written to take advantage of it, so are either streched or have loads of space either side. Most are also the types of apps I don't care about using all the screen for, such as banking, parking, or food delivery, etc. All the apps that really benefit from spreading out such as messaging, media, video, and productivity apps, etc., already work in landscape and don't rotate.
I like to use side-by-side when unfolded, so this isn't an issue for me. Would be nice to easily swap out apps when I'm in SBS tho, currently I have to change one to floating, close it, then do the 2-finger ale again...

There is another one called Rotation mentioned above; however, other than I rarely need it anymore, it is not folding phone aware, and therefore you can't have different settings for the outer screen versus the inner screen, so if you force landscape on the inner screen then it will do the same on the outer screen.
Does this app allow you to set different preferences for the outer screen vs the inner screen?

You can swap out apps in SBS if you put them on the pop out sidebar; then you can drag the icon to replace the app in which ever of the side you want.

Ah great, thanks for the info!
I love the forced rotation setting. Is there any way to have the settings attached to the system drop-down settings? For example, if I turn auto-rotate on the phone, it automatically turns on 'Forced Auto Rotate' from the app? Not sure if that's a possibility.
Since the last system update, the app no longer works properly for me. Does anyone else have this problem?
No problem there with ROTATION app
