Team, I am new to android development and i need your help in getting familiar to android development
i have a Obi octopus S520 device with stock ROM kitkat 4.4.2 and i want to flash a cyanogen mod 12.1 to my device
i have already rooted my device using "KING-ROOT PC" but i dont know whether my boot loader is unlocked or locked and i have installed a Custom recovery also "clockworkmod v5.5.4" through MTK Droid Tools
i have tried once to port the cyanogen mod by replacing the files from stock ROM to port ROM and zipped it but after flash my device either sucked on boot loops or just rebooted to my custom recovery . I want to upgrade my device to lollipop 5.1.1
Any help well be appreciated thank you for reading my post . this place is awesome.

Hello everybody.
I have this gadgetsfactory.com/c7500-smart-phone-android-2-3-os-3g-gps-wifi-4-3-inch-multi-touch-screen.html MTK6573 android phone (by GAGA as printed on the box) which i might add is half-bricked at this moment .
I have no backup of the ROM and the simple factory reset was useless from the beginning of its short life.
I would appreciate if someone has a backup ROM for this model ,or if you have any ideas i would be glad to hear it.
A few information you that might help you are the following:
Baseband version MAUI.11AMD.W11.37.SPV6 , 2011/10/29
Kernel version 2.6.35.7
Build Number 11HX8.Y8.120316.AD2_3_5_V3.QHDC_CN.COM_MCP_HTClogo

Thank you for your answer.After reading a few things about porting roms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941239 & http://www.androidgladiator.com/2013/07/how-to-port-rom-for-mediatek-based-roms.html) i understand that i cannot do it because i don't have any base rom at all .I cannot make a backup of mine since i cannot boot into the OS .Neither Recovery mode has such a function .Thats why i need the stock rom.

If this device realy have MTK 6573? my device have MT 6575 but BaseBand, Kernel and BuildNumber are same as yours, and i found way to install Android 4.0.4 look here http://www.needrom.com/mobile/android-3g-c7500/ If still need for you.
I think this will help you becouse i flashed to my 512 mb ram version 1gb ram version rom from thl, so you can flash unbrick with SP Flash Tool this have 512mb ram version it has original phone kernel, boot, DSP_BL, Preloader, all other is from mtk6573/6575 device universal.

Thank you but i cannot validate your method since i don't have it anymore.But i am sure it was 6573 cpu and 6575.Later models of the same design were equiped with the 6575 cpu.
is there any custom rom there ?

but stuck at logo then shut down.. luckily i back up my stock rom..
is there any rom ?

You can find this rom for your device at devteam.vn
Its really hard to find a compatible rom to our device specially the cam..

You can find ROMs for your chinese device there on NEEDROM.com.
You might have to register first before downloading ROMs.
You can also try porting any rom for MTK6577 you can find with the help of various tutorials online - 'search port mtk rom' on google...
(Haven't passed 10 posts yet, no links, sorry... )

where can I get HDMI Driver for version 4.2.2 JB for mtk6577
or how to get work Bluetooth Mouse on 4.0.4 ICS on MTK device...(allready rooted )
tried so many possible apps and conf files as well .. for Bluetooth connectivity.
issue Is like that "Bluetooth Mouse paired but connected"
BT mouse is working in one custom ROM but here some HDMI driver issue..
this ROM can find by SImply search on google "Lava Iris 454 Custom rom" By Karbonnroms or Manish

you cant install custom ROM on mtk6577
As per my knowledge their's no way to unlock bootloader of mtk6577 devices . As Mediatek does not provide an option to do so. If you try to do it some other way you will simply brick your phone.

Maybe nobody developed for your device. LG L80 to example doesn't even have TWRP, while the LG L70 has LOS14.1
MY device is reconnect 4701 with mt6582 chipset actually my device is rooted with out unlocking bootloader,even i can flash images using wonderful tools of mediatek MTK DROID TOOLS,SP FLASH TOOL,with their help i have modified my kernel,back up my stock,they even prepared cwm recovery for my phone which i flashed yesterday
i have done all this because my device no support ,updates from company .so the need is to install cyanogenmod but for my fate even cyanogenmod do not have my phone listed in .so some one help me to port my device to cyanogenmod .my device working on 1.3 gHZ QUAD CORE armv7 processor 1gb ram ,8 GB INTERNAL MEMORY(4GB USABLE) STOCK KERNEL IS LINUX 3.4.5 current one modified by mtk droid tools to cwm resolutionsolution 1280*720
