Ok, I have have a galaxy s4 and my sis sent me her Verizon Note 4. I put my tmobile sim card in and got the this is not verizon notification. I've read some of of the forums here about changing the apn and changed each field like users here said to, changed to global network restarted and I still get no signal. There's still an inactive verizon sim, I've heard factory reset with verizon sim then change apn then put tmobile sim in but that doesn't work either. Please help, this phone is so much better tan my tiny s4 I don't want to ditch it or switch to verizon.

I have spent hours reading forums and am complete lost

I'm on AT&T,but just bought a rooted S4 off someone with a Verizon ROM on it. Would I just need to flash a AT&T ROM for the S4 to be able to get the SIM card to work with AT&T?
Any help appreciated.
Same here. My friend gave me his S4 today and it is Verizon and running on the stock ROM. However, I am on AT&T. From what I hear this phone comes factory unlocked so you just plug in the SIM and it should be okay. Is there anything else that I need to know if I want to use this phone as my main?

After a brief visit with AT&T today, they installed a SIM card from their carrier into my phone, but it would not get speeds grater than EDGE at the time. 3G may have been possible, but it didn't see it right away. Also, they had to update the APN settings in the Settings -> More settings -> Mobile networks -> Access Point Names. Lastly, after searching the internet, Verizon carrier locks the GSM in the states. In other words, they make it so you can use GSM OUTSIDE the US but not allow AT&T or T-Mobile SIMS to be used in their devices. This is a carrier lock, not SIM lock, so they can get around the whole "well, our phones are sold SIM unlocked" bs. After calling a level two tech support, he told me that there is no such thing as a carrier lock or SIM lock, and he could not give me a code. The phone was able to make a voice call and send a normal text, but data sucked.

Sorry to disagree, but my SCH-i545 works on the AT&T network with an AT&T SIM installed.
I only get Edge because that's the only band that VZ and AT&T has in common in this area. Swapping out a SIM isn't going to fix that.
What you're finding about GSM locks applies to pre-LTE phones. The LTE phones are not SIM locked, aren't carrier locked. Period.
purchased N9 LTE from ExpansysUSA knowing they were probably euro models. I have a tmobile data only sim and it was registered to this N9 when I got it as well. It worked and shows LTE.. Today I popped in my ATT sim and it showed LTE as well and i was pretty happy with that. i turned the device back off, popped back in the tmobile SIM and now it just shows Tmobile with full signal but DATA shows ! and wont connect to data.
I verified im still using the correct APN, even reset APN to defaults, I checked my Dialer code menu to make sure im set to LTE/GSM/CDMA preferred and it shows LTE status but then shows disconnected.
i feel like Tmobile is now blocking my Nexus 9 from connecting OR the sim has somehow messed up...
I swear i have the worst luck with tmobile sims always burning out.
OK it's working now. So weird how finicky T-Mobile sims and network connectivity are.
was it a data only sim? I got the same thing inserting my phone sim in my N9 but I believe that's because tmobile blocks tablets from working on phone sims.
I don't know about the Nexus 9, but I do know from experience the Galaxy Tab S LTE tablets cannot be used as phones on T-Mobile.
TMO will only give you a data SIM, so calls would need to be done VoIP/app based.
I'd guess the reason behind that might apply to the Nexus.
Oddly enough, TMO *used* to allow the LTE tablets to be used as phones.
But some sore loser in some forum complained about how it affected data plan pricing and so TMO clamped down on the data-only policy for tablets.
Btw, the LTE Euro Galaxy Tab S could only get HSPA/3G on TMO. LTE speeds were not possible.
I still have my Vzw note 2 and can run GSM or CDMA sim cards and have test and used it.
With the Bootloader unlocked and right ROM and change the Apn Settings.
But with the note 4 the ROMs are not made for multiple carriers anymore.
AT&T will work on here and I still had to updated APN settings a little.
I removed all others to keep it form dropping call because its jumping around to other settings.
Also turned off Lte so data will stay locked in on H and H+.
I have seen it drop data connection jumping back and forth form H,H+ and Lte.
When i place my wife VZW sim card in my Tmobile note 4 LTE kicks in and I can use it.
Signal jump on but will not connect to make a call and texting will not work.
Q::: Is there anyone already running a VZW CDMA sim card on a T-mobile note 4??
Q::: Will a sim card unlock work??
Q::: What unlocking site did use??
LTE should theoretically work, but you still would not be able to call or text because most places still rely on CDMA for the talk, text, and 3g. The Tmobile phones do not have the hardware to support it. Plus any time you would not have an LTE service, you would be out of luck since there would be nothing available for the phone to fall back to. You would also run into trouble if you needed to register the phone with VZW for any type of service as the IMEI won't be in their database and they won't allow any phones that aren't there to be officially registered with them. Not to mention other problems like being unable to update PRLs and profiles.
I have a Galaxy S6 Edge from US Cellular that I just got and trying to switch it over to straight talk with no luck. The phone is unlocked, I took the sim card from my Droid Maxx and it works in the Galaxy for calls, and textremely. It will only get 3G service and constantly roaming, MMS won't work. Straight talk tech support told me it needed a new sI'm for AT&T. So after spending $70 on Activation kit, they tell me sorry ATT won't work due to lack of towers in my area. I need to use Verizon towers. So how do I factory unlock the phone to use on that network? I've tried changing access points, no luck. I have nano Sims from straight talk. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Put the sim in you want to use, go to settings, backup and reset, and reset network settings. Then reboot. Then go to settings, mobile networks, set network mode to LTE/3G/2G. Then reboot again. Try that
Still just 3g and roaming. I'm on access point I made for straight talk (tfdata) I also don't show LTE/3/2 I have global, Lte/CDMA and lte/GSM/umts
