Hey guys, I searched all over for a solution and didn't find one, so I decided to create an account here and ask for help. So here it goes:
I rooted my phone( Huawei G7-l01 ) using kingroot, I don't have a computer so kingroot helped me a lot, by not needing to unlock bootloader or anything else. I installed adaway, exposed framework(2.5.1) and a few modules(YouTube adaway, xinsta, YouTube background play, lucky patcher, grennify) and it all worked well for a long time (two-three months). I eventually installed freedom but I uninstalled it on the same day. Yesterday my Google play store and youtube stopped connecting(after I uninstalled greenify, don't know if there is anything to do with it), when I cleared cache and removed my account, I couldn't log in again, it said "could not find a reliable connection to the server" (something like that), so as a last resort I uninstalled kingroot, removing the root, and factory reseted. Now YouTube works, but I still can't log in to the play store, and worst of all, I can't root! King root doesn't work, I even tried other app, kingo root, but it doesn't work either. I saw a few tutorials, looked for a solution everywhere, and almost everyone said to: modify hosts file(needs root, I can't root), fixe date and time (tried, mine is right, no use) delete play store and Google framework cache and force stop and reboot phone(tried, no use). So I hope someone here can help me. Sorry for the long post, I tried to put every detail possible. Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem, although I used Framaroot app. It all worked fine till I got freedom (and why would you install freedom if you had lucky patcher?!) but I too uninstalled it and then the same Play Store issues. I tried unrooting and eventually factory reset but none of them worked, so I gave up, unlocked my bootloader and flashed Cyanogenmod. It worked like a charm! And I had a great ROM!
So, I'd recommend borrowing a friend's laptop, installing necessary drivers, unlocking bootloader and flashing a suitable ROM for your device. You won't regret it, trust me :fingers-crossed:
Thanks, it's gonna be a while until I can get my hands on a laptop, until then I'll keep using aptoide. I helps a lot, but is not 100% better. But thanks anyway.

I was doing some research, and I couldn't find any official cyanogen rom for the Huawei g7-l01, so I guess I'm unlucky. I also tried installing the stick rom from the Huawei website, but the installation always fails.
Hi, I am using Micromax Unite 2… .Rooted with kingroot.apk and removed root permission after few days. Now I can't re-root my phone with the same apk as it restart in the rooting process. What shoul I do?

I just rooted my Viper today, i deleted some bloatware, & now my Google Play Store isn't really working properly. It force closes!
I deleted Sprint ID, Google Wallet, Google Maps, Tags, Nascar, basically all the pointless apps that came with the phone..... Just uninstalled the actual apps, none of the foreground processes. The play store opens, shows my apps, but when I click to view the app, I get "THE APPLICATION GOOGLE PLAY STORE (PROCESS COM. ANDROID.VENDING) HAS STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY. PLEASE TRY AGAIN" I've tried to uninstall & re-install the play store, but still get the same message.
Does anyone know how I could fix this problem???
Also, if i factory reset, will this affect my root or brick the phone? Did i loose the apps & their processes permanently?
Update your profile and prl. I had the same problem until I updated mine.
Or simpler, clear cache. That will probably solve it.
Work case, install the latest GAPPS from Cyanogenmod, the last one for ICS is dated 20120429 or something.
No factory reset will not affect you root it will just delete super user app..your root is still there
It will not brick you phone too..
You can try to change language of your device than start play store this may help sometime
we should polite enough to press thanks for everyone helped uS..
you are dead when you stop learning new things..
I'll try the gapps install..... everything else has failed me.
So none worked.....
I dont have a custom recovery, so installing GAPPS was basically a no go for me. I tried using ES File explorer, nope! I just unrooted the phone & going to take my chances at the sprint repair center. Since SU isnt on anymore, I should be fine right??

Hi there
I hope someone can help me or give me a pointer. The short story is that Google Play has reverted to the Android Market (v2.3.4) and I can't download anything from the Market.
The longer story is this...
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2, bought sim-free over a year ago, running Android 2.3.3. Yesterday I had a problem with Google Play not being able to download some apps. This was clearly wrong: I had 1.5GB free of 16GB. In the course of trying to fix this (ha!), and trying to find recovery mode, I borked the device further. Google Play reverted to Android Market v2.3.4, and some apps got messed up in random ways and consistently crashed. I uninstalled some of the crashing apps, but I still cannot download anything from the Market in order to reinstall them.
I've cleared cache and cleared data for various apps and services: Market, Download Manager, Google Play Services (odd that that's still there), Google Services Framework, and maybe some others.
The problem with the Market is that when I touch to download an app it readies itself for the download (moving diagonal lines on the progress bar) and then the progress bar disappears as if it's finished. There is no download, and certainly no install, but no error message either. On the other hand my web-based Google Play account says I've just downloaded it. And meanwhile my web-based Google Play account says there are no devices associated with my account.
Given the situation with Market, I can't even download something like MarketFixer which may help. I can sideload apks, but I can't find a (legitimate-looking) apk like MarketFixer to download.
I've never rooted my device, so I don't expect to have to do that to fix this. Before do a factory reset, does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks
Nik

Thanks for even thinking of that, dragid10.
Hmm... theoretically, if I routed, where would I get the latest version of Google Play from? I can't access the Market, after all.
There are a few threads in the apps forum here on XDA one is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1932489
I also don't think you need to be rooted to install it. Just make sure you turn on unknown sources from settings(either under applications or security)
Also have you tried uninstalling updates for the market or removing your Google account from your phone and re-adding it.
Edit:Updated thread URL original one was a closed thread.

nsmith4, thank you. That's moved me a bit forward. I couldn't find a Google Play apk, and now I've got Google Play back on my device, and the web version of Google Play knows about my device again.
(I did try to delete my Google account and it refused me. It said it was needed by some applications and should do a factory reset instead!)
So now it seems I'm back to my original problem: I (still) can't download any apps from Google Play because it says (wrongly) there's insufficient space on device. I shall keep looking for an apk of MarketFixer or similar. This problem is now the same as the one reported here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436188
although of course I cannot download MarketFix to help me fix the market.
Update: That install of Google Play didn't stick. When I rebooted the phone it took me through the Android initiation process (asked for Google username and password) and Market was back in place of Play.
Looks like a problem with factory resetting every time you restart. That is a bigger problem. Google Play will automatically update itself (all update to com.android.vending will).
Try taking the ICS update (if you haven't already), you need a fresh install of the OS. Or you can root and install a ROM. Same thing

You say you "borked the device further". The question is, what happened? What did you do, and what got borked, in what way? If you don't even know, then it will be difficult or impossible to repair. The easiest and fastest solution will be to install a fresh ROM, like Gagdude said.

gagdude, post-mortem: No, I didn't keep a careful record of what I did. The "borking" is a combination of the problems listed above. I'm going to do a factory reset and upgrade to ICS, as suggested, thanks. Will keep you posted.
Mid-point update: Successfully factory reset my phone (Volume up + Power on, factory reset, then reboot). Now my SIM card isn't recognised (sigh).
The same problem, but with a different device, is here:

I'm in need of some kinda urgent help and advice regarding a phone i have just purchased for my mother.
I've bought her a cheap Daxian TD888 on the MTK6589 chipset and i'm afraid i have been a silly boy and not done my research before purchasing - I was under the impression that it came with the Play Store installed etc and sadly, it comes with a hard to use chinese ROM.
Mothers being mothers, mine isn't anywhere near tech/phone friendly and this is her first smartphone (upgrade from a 6 year old Nokia/symbian brick) so i was wanting to get her onto a nice and simple stock android 4.1 or 4.2 or even a CMxx that i can just help her along with.
After some very panic based searching today, i'm not seeing much that can help me... infact... nothing regarding this phone at all.
So... have I been a dumbass and bought her a lemon or is there anyone that can help me out with advice or pointers on how to get a normal android ROM on this thing?
I'm not massively experienced with rooting but have managed it a couple fo times in the past on my old Nexus One.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I could probably help you get it rooted and that would allow you to install Play store on it as well as delete any chinese apps that sometimes come on the MT65XX devices if interested. As far as the rom goes, is there not an option in settings to change language to English? I have bought a few MediaTek devices directly from china, when I received the phone it had english on it already but when I reset the phones I would have to go into Settings and change chinese language back to english.
Motochopper should root your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248
One thing with these phones is that the android version is not always what is shown in Settings > About phone. Try using this tool from the first post of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490&styleid=18
make sure you enable USB debugging on your phone first and it will help tell which version of android you are really running. If kernel say 2.6.xx you are on GB 2.3, if it is 3.0.xx then you are on ICS and if it says 3.4.xx then you are JB. I bought a MT6575 that said android version 4.0 in settings, it said gingerbread 2.2 on the box (I know 2.2 is Froyo), then on bottom of box it said Froyo 2.2!
Thanks Klown80 -
I'm just into work now so I'll have to hook it up to my own PC and root when i get home later... i'm just in full on panic mode over this (its a time sensitive issue as she's due to be in hospital for an extended period and i want to get this right for her before then)
Regarding the language settings in the current/stock rom, it has english US selected and while a lot of the language is in english, pretty much ALL popup dialogs are in chinese and the browser is unusable (all chinese text based) so... hence the panic.
I was (foolishly) thinking it would just be a simple enough flash to CM or stock android and hey presto - full english ROM.
I hate it when i don't do my homework first.
So... you recommend the root first, check exact android version number and go from there?
Even if it turns out to be an older 2.1/2.2/whatever version, i'd be happy enough to get something stock and full english based on there if its possible.
As she's never had a smart phone, it will all seem super smooth and flashy to her anyway.
I have now rooted (i think..) however, the superuser app comes up with an error upon opening -
superuser binary (su) must be updated
and i now i'm kinda stuck.
I have downloaded and tired various versions of the play store and while the at first allow me to enter google accounts details, it always crashes after that.
Every time i open the play store app, it just closes again.
Any suggestions on where i might be going wrong?

Sounds like you need to update the binary then, if it allows you. If not then the root did not correctly root your device and we will have to go back a step and get that fixed first. As for Play Store, it usually takes more than just the Play.apk file to put Play Store on your device if it did not come with it stock. You also need (I am going off top of my head, I can give you exact names later) Google services framework.apk, Google login services.apk, Google Play services.apk. You need to have root to to this because you will need to move the vending.apk to /system folder and possibly change permissions on the apk before you install it. Once we can confirm root I can help you install a working Play Store if you like.

I've no idea how to update the binary so I guess i'm looking at a re-root.
I have had the usual issues of drivers not wanting to work (the Motochopper root process getting stuck at the daemon starting point) but I've manged to get the process to work twice so far.
(I've tried 4 different driver packages and they have all given the same results)
Could you possibly advise on how to update the binary file for superuser? I've just tried the root again and it skipped installing superuser as it was already found on the phone.. i haven't felt this noobllike in some time!

Try uninstalliong Superuser or SuperSU and try again. Su binary should ask you if you want to update when you first open SuperSU, if you have Superuser, then you will need to open the app and go into settings to update binary.

Ok, is it just Superuser and not SuperSU correct? Can you go into settings in Superuser and towards the bottom there should be an option to update su binary. If it is SuperSU it will ask to update on its own when you open it. either way make sure it lets you update binary. Once binary is updated download and install any app that asks for root acces, so we can see if superuser request pops up.
Once we have confirmed root we can move onto installing Play Store. To do this you will need to be able to install a file explorer like ES file explorer so we can install the files we need for working Play Store.

HUGE thanks to Klown80 for the advice and patience!
For anyone else in a similar situation with an MTK6589 cheapo phone, and had issues with the Motochopper root method (the root getting stuck at 'daemon started successfully' etc etc.....
Klown80's chinese root tool works a treat. You will have a chinese superuser app that may be a little annoying (you might be able to swap it for SuperSU or something but I had issues doing that so i've kept the chinese one) but the root works perfectly and the instructions given by Klown80 in the linked thread are very easy to follow.
I still had some issues with getting google services installed so you may want to look for a play store installer workaround - I know there is a cheeky little chinese mod apk that can be used to get the play store working, but i can't post it here.
Should anyone come across this thread and know of a good, stock english rom that I might be able to use, please leave a comment!

Hello, I spent couple hrs last night trying to get the play store, I used Android cowboys way, the other way in this forum and yours. All not linked to a comp. Android cowboys with apks would show no connection after email log in, the other method in this forum worked briefly putting things in the priv-app., then went into a constant load white screen. Your method would not get past the email load page. Before each attempt I deleted the previous.. Feeling defeated I did a hard reset on the 4th gen Kindle.. Well, it reloaded with no es file manager, not your app but still had root, king user, and google play store, click the store and it works perfectly. Not sure what happen during the reset but thanks, the desired result was achieved.

What most likely happened was the /data/data information still existed when you removed the old ones. Mine are installed to system. So what a factory reset did was get rid of that previous /data stuff. Glad it got squared away

I used this tool to install gapps. @bibikalka says here we can now update play store and services, but when i try to update play store I get message: "Out of Space - Google Play store couldn't be installed. Free up some space and try again."
I have 2+ Gb free space. I've heard of this happening and being unrelated to space, but can't track down the problem. Does your tool move or rename something that could cause this? Any ideas how to fix? thx
EDIT: OS 4.5.3
EDIT: So I brilliantly uninstalled playstore, then got the out of space message when i tried to reinstall (both older and new versions). So restored from TI backup and now playstore won't open at all, just crashes back to wherever i start it from.
EDIT3: ok, so I was in denial about space left in /system. :silly: Moved some stuff out and now store loads again, but still get "out of space" when i try to update.

Awesome!!! Looks like you are a great candidate for 4.5.4 !!! It's actually very simple to get to a good place with a modified 4.5.4, supersu.zip installable via TWRP, and JMZ tool. I was scared of the update and that setting up things again would be hard, but the bricking episode showed me how easy it is If you insist, you can reflash a modified 4.5.3, this way you'd go back to where you were. This is probably 30 min of your time, to do all of this.
All your stuff in /data will be kept. You'll want to go to /data/apps and remove those 2 dummy directories that JMZ tool puts there to block GAPPS updates. This way GAPPS could update, but start with the playstore first.
I did get a similar "out of space" message on 4.5.3 when I played with GAPPS a lot. It has something to do with odex files or perhaps some other stuff. Not a fun message to deal with.

lol . . . (You really are very funny!) Anyway, I was planning to update to 4.5.4 for the very reason of no-hassle Gapps. Then saw your post about current play services/store working--apparently with 4.5.3 since guy you replied to had that OS--and got sidetracked.

Thanks, that's the info I was asking for. After fair amount of messing with this, I'm back to the original problem with 4.5.3 and latest play services and store: Play store won't load; just get white screen and spinner. So now off to do 4.5.4 update!
New Here
Hi I'm new here. A few questions for you. Does this require root? My understanding is that the newest version can't be rooted. Is this true? Also will this allow me to install the google play store and run any app from the play store?
Thanks!
Problem with playstore
Hi, my playstore stopped working, I open it and it is in blank, so I tried to install it again, but it disappeared from my device. I have a Kindle Fire HD 6 with King root, could you help me with this? Thanks
Hi all, my SM-G9280 still cannot log into Snapchat. I've rooted the phone (since it doesn't come with Google Play Services). The android vers is 6.0.1 and Baseband is G9280ZCU2BPK1.
My phone is Chinese so it does not come with Google Play Services, and I have to root to get it.
I've tried :
1) RootCloak + Cydia Substrate. Doesn't work for some reason.
2) Xposed + Root Cloak. Installing the xposed framework crashes my phone and causes a bootloop. Recoverable by flashing the stock ROM and resetting phone though.
(EDIT: Xposed + Root Cloak does work now, I've added Snapchat to the list of root-hide apps, but it still does not allow me to log into Snapchat.)
3) Unrooting and Rerooting. Unrooting removes Google Play Services along with the root and Snapchat does not work if Google Play Services is not present.
I would try Titanium Backup with Snapchat except I don't have a second android device avaliable.
Is there any other solutions that I can do to log into Snapchat?
Can someone help me? Please?
Bump, can someone please help me?
Bumped again... Please someone help me with this issue.
First off why would removing root remove Google play services? This is not how this works. From the looks of it you have a china based device that didn't come with Google stuff installed. Take care of that first. Then root after.
Yeah, I have to root in order to get Google stuff.
As far as I know for my device there is no way to get Google Play Services other than rooting.

Well then I would root get the Google stuff and unroot. As they are not connected you should be able to pull it off.
I tried that. But as soon as I unroot Google Play Services dissapears and when I unroot using SuperSU it causes a bootloop, which is solvable by flashing the custom ROM,
So that doesn't work. Or am I doing something wrong with the unrooting process?

You are doing something wrong along the way. If you have a custom rom then you should have a custom recovery as well. At That point all you have to do is flash the rom and a gapps package. Dont flash any root apps. If they are built into the rom then that may be a bit harder to deal with.
I don't have a custom rom...
The way I got Google Play Services and Google Play to work is I rooted, then used a third-party app (Not OpenGApps) to install Google Play Services, the framework, and everything else.
I still have my stock rom, it's just rooted and has google play services that's all.
The fix is easy. Just grab another phone that is rooted but without Xposed Framework, you install SC and login. After login do a backup of the app with Titanium backup then move the backup to you Note 5/Galaxy s6+ and do a restore of the app's data (data has log in token). That's all ?
Now, if you don't own another phone then you have have to install stock ROM, then log in to your SC using the stock ROM without any modding (rooting) yet. After login root the phone and do a backup with Titanium backup. You can restore your Login data anytime after doing the backup. That's all.
I think that the problem with the log in may be because of the Knox counter in the ROM being triggered. Hope it's works for you. I use this exact method to fix the log in issue.

Read the OP.
I don't have another phone to do Titanium Backup.
When I install Stock ROM, Google Play Services and Framework is not installed therefore Snapchat doesn't work.
Would clearing EVERYTHING, then flashing Stock ROM, then getting OpenGApps help? Because if so then I can do that except i do not know how to setup OpenGApps...
Okay, so I got TWRP then flashed TWRP, then got OpenGApps to get Google Play Services.
I then unrooted but it took away Google Play Services and everything as well. I can't login to Snapchat.
Am I still doing something wrong here?
Bump, posted this on a couple of other forums and no one has replied with a solution
Someone help solve please
Bump.
Bump, I've been able to somehow install Xposed and root cloak. I've added Snapchat to the list to hide the root from the app, but it still won't let me log in.
Bump.
Bump.
did you ever get it to work? ?
