A deep, deep blue would be nice, maybe with a slight purple hint. Thanks for doing this--I've been commenting on how few themes there are for this device, especially for Paris which is such a fantastic ROM.
I have a question: on the samples posted, the details don't look quite sharp--do they look correct on the device itself? Could just be the screen shots.

[Q] Text-based battery percent in Status bar

The thread listed here is pretty old and it does not apply to my Epic Tough running 2.3.6. I am trying to accomplish the same thing but can not seem to locate any proper info on how to do it. I am still new to reading code and messing with .smali files and xml's but I have no problem learning. If anyone knows where I may be able to find the proper info for my phone or a SGS II equivalent please let me know.
I have tried the lockscreen mods but they all seem to give me Hot Reboots since most of the framework and jar files seem to have errors in them. I can deal with out the lockscreen mod but I truly like the text based battery and CM is not a choice for me at this moment until they get it stable.
I have also send the OP a PM but no response in days...
Thx for your help

Hmm, this should be fairly simple. In theory, at least.
I would have thought it's just a case of adding some strings, then changing the drawable xml files. But I can't try it today as I'm out on the road. Hopefully I can try this tomorrow and I'll report back.

Use the uot kitchen online. You can tweek to your hearts desire..

In the screenshot you have posted, it's an app that's doing it with the battery icon hidden on MIUI with extended settings. I have the same setup. Give me a sec and I'll post a picture. I believe the app I use is called Battery Status.
Unless you're running MIUI or another ROM where you can hide the battery icon, you'll have duplicate icons - one in the normal spot and one on the other side.
Here's the screenshot of mine with the same concept.
EDIT:
Nevermind, I was seeing my own status bar when I opened the image through Tapatalk. Now I feel like an idiot.
This setup is native in CM and in TSM tweaks as well as EDT tweaks. I simply just want to use pct text and not PNG files. Tux for the uot kitchen ref but that's not what I am looking for. Uot is old school to me but they do serve a great purpose. The screenshot is not an app though since I linked the mod in my post.

Thx let me know what you can dig up. I have been looking at code trying to figure it out but its a little bit above my pay grade...lol
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
No problem. I'm pretty certain I know how to do this but I'm not in a position to try it out for a few hours.
If I'm right though, it should just be a case of changing three xml files. No smali, which is always a good thing..
Oh, and this should work on any rom on any version of Android.

From the few tutorials I have found you are usually adding lines to smali. I have no problems making those changes either if necessary. I am just sick of the icon based battery and prefer text with % after it.... Thx I await your results
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
Well, that didn't work. I spent ages tweaking the code to get it to compile but all it does is just remove the battery entirely.
I was trying to display strings instead of drawables but..oh well.
If you want to do this with your phone's font, you'll need to edit some smali..somewhere. Unfortunately that stuff is still mostly over my head.
Or you could just make some image files that only have text in them. It's a bit of a cheat but it could have the effect you're after.
Sent from my U20i using xda premium
Thanks man I thought about changing the PNG files but I would prefer not to...lol
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
It may be the best way really. Otherwise you have to find the smali code that uses the battery image xml file and alter it to...something..

The best way to do this is use one of the number icons available in Tickle My Android..
That is not the best way to do it at all... The best way to do it is breakdown the xml for the ui your looking at and add the xml for it and take the statusbar_battery.xml and where it points to @drawable/stat_sys_battery1 yeah well point it to @strings/stat_sys_bat_1 and create the string for it and every other battery line bam done! Thats the best way I can see it being done... Adding it to the given ui is a different story all together changing it is much easier than adding it.. Adding it requires you go into statusbar.smali and copy and paste the whole section of code that controls the battery and asign a new variable to it to make it work and im not even sure if that would work Im just guessing here I work with sense not aosp but its all the same crap..

Icon customizations

Could anyone tell me what exactly do I need to edit to change icon colors on status bar? I'm using zipsnet ics rom.

As long as you had all your settings in the UOT Kitchen right, it should flash outright. Did you select emmc in the settings? I believe it defaults to mdpi. That will get you a bootloop everytime.

Matte.apk is the skin... the skin does not actually hold the M10 files that contain stuff(clock,dock,widgets...) for Rosie(launcher)... The M10 files needed to change that stuff are in other apks which we cannot edit because the M10 tools dont work for sense 3.5 and up
And yes... our modded skins that we make are different from HTCs stock skins... thats why ours can change that kind of stuff inside our skins

Ya I was talkin to racinwarrior earlier through gtalk and we both agreed its stupid that HTC locks this **** down and we don't have the tools anymore to mod. when I did the 4x1 clock in 3.6 it was easy. lol

yeah not to mention HTC appearently has their own custom .9.png tool for sense 4 too so those get messed up when you decompile then recompile... which is what causes the stripes to stretch in things like the statusbar

[Request]Gingerbread Red battery icon with numbers for the ViperROM...

Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is well. As the title says, can I request any of the generous themers here to make me a flashable RED Gingerbread style battery icon with the numbered percentage for the ViperROM? I will deeply appreciate your help! Thank you!
If you give me a link to a theme/rom with the icons which you would like I will make a port for you.
heres what i did to the battery icon.(screenshot). it was very tidious work which i enjoyed doing if you like, let me know and i'll share it with you.
Note: this is for viper rom only i believe.

Thank you ljbaumer! I couldn't find a ROM, theme that has what I am looking for, but essentially it's really the stock Gingerbread battery icon, except Red with % on it.
This link has something similar in Post # 6 if you can see it?

Looks good, what you have, but I already have access to that icon, and was looking to go for that GB/ICS look, in Red though... Thanks for posting though!

So your asking for the wrong battery icon... that icon is stock ICS not Gingerbread
Edit: You made it sound like you wanted the stock Gingerbread HTC battery icon not AOSP
something like this?..?

Yep, that looks about right, but only if somehow we could add % to it? And charge animation?
Thanks for all the responses, guys!

its cool bro...heres what ive done so far (screenshot).. currently in the process of renaming em to "stat_sys_battery_1.png n stat_sys_battery_2.png" and so forth. then im gonna edit each one to look the way it should via its percentage and charge.. then i'll push them into SystemUI.apk (hopefully overwriting the files with the same name) then create a flashable zip to share with you.
what you think so far?
Good
Looks great, bud, thanks for your hard work...
The numbers look kinda distorted, unless that will be different on the phone?
Sorry I didn't share this earlier, but do you think porting this might make your life and work easy?

shouldn't be too difficult. Probably yes.. ima need to test it on my phone first before i share the final version though.
(just waitin for it to finish downloading lol)
Awesome bud!
Please remember that I think for the icons to stick, you have to make it a flashable "VR Theme" Installation or something?
Also, how difficult would it be to have a "Back to Stock" zip as well? Unless you're gonna make it an apk to install like an app?
Thanks again for all your hard work!

to go back to stock i think you would just need to flash the stock SystemUI.apk that the rom came with.
VRtheme huh? i'll look into that.. i mean i know how to make a flashable zip but i'll look into what your'e talkin bout.
i can probably share with you the stock SystemUI.apk just incase you decide you want to revert back.
You're the man! Thanks bro!
