Hi,
I own a ZTE V967S and I would like to know your experience with the different custom roms for this phone. I have tried the one of Carliv (flavour max V2) and I am quite happy with that. Anyway I have a problem with GPS (I can not switch it off) and this is the reason why I am looking around for other roms.
Thanks in advance.

the question is not whether u could ask in development section.
Asking for the best rom in general is not appreciated in xda. developers put a lot of effort in making roms here. so please dont jude them. also different users will have different opinions of the same rom..
read through comments of previous users of the rom in the roms thread to see how their phones are performing with that rom.. then chose for urself..

did you try many of these roms? All the S4 port roms run beautifully but they all have the same bug, when you dial when connect to bluetooth and try to change sound output method the sim turns off and you have to re-enter the sim lock pin and it comes up with the message 'radio off' anyone else get this problem?
I am with the max flow, very happy:laugh:
To OP: Have you tried Max Smart and how it handles GPS?

I have the exact same problem.
I have stock 1.0.5 but I also tried MIUI 3.11.29 and the same problem persists.
The weird think is that my two best friends have the same phone (v967s) and use bluetooth.
When we speak with each other if only one changes the output to speaker or headset from bluetooth, the sims locks on both phones! (???? weird as hell, can not explain it technically ????)
I just received my LeEco Le Max 2 today. I set it up and found two problems for this phone: 1. the sim2 can not collect to data, only voice, as shown in the attached screenshot. I tried different SIMs (AT&T, T-Mobile), but always the same. 2. The wifi has problem: every time I leave my house for some time, the wifi could not connect after I return home. I have to input the wifi password again to get connected. It seems that it can not remember my wifi. I tried in my friend's house, it is the same. The installed ROM is 5.8.016S (Stable). I am wondering if other people have the same problems and if there is any solution without flashing other ROMs. Thanks a lot.

not sure about this phone but on zenfone 2, data connection is only possible in sim 1, on others phones sim 1 islas for 4g and sim 2 only works in 3G. Looking at the screenshot it looks normal, and I don't think it is a bug.
And for the wifi issue you could try doing a factory reset from the option in settings or flash a newer firmware
Enviado desde mi ASUS_Z00TD mediante Tapatalk
You should check your Apn settings, i got simillar problem where i have to change some settings in apn for mobile data to work.
i can tell that data connection works on both sim slots but only one at a time.
apn could be it...

Thanks for all the responses. I did check the APN setting for sim2 to make sure it is correct, but it still does not work. The selection for data sim is always grayed out. I tried several different sim cards, and also tried to swapped the sims, no help, only SIM1 can have data. Not sure it is the firmware issue or something else.
Hello. I have no idea but your rom version is very old. Hard to discuss but I can not remember the problems like yours. See your settings maybe someone changed them to non standard.

This phone a big disappointment. There are so many issues for this phone: 1. the sim2 can not connect data as claimed . 2. It can not remember wifi. 3. Last night, the phone battery is dead, "System Service" used 90% of the battery in 5 hours. Not sure what it is. 4. The worst, the fingerprint worked for less than a day, now, it is totally dead. No more response from the fp sensor anymore.
Factory reset does not solve any of these problems.
I may try other firmware, and hopefully some firmware could fix some of these problems.
the dead fingerprint sensor is a widespread issue.
thank you qualcom!
try resurrection remix or aokp.
rr works great for me.
if you want to try out different roms i suggest you use multirom by andr68rus.

. I have the same problem with the "default" data connections sim which is very bad for a dual sim and also another also important problem (for a dual sim phone): that i can't disable just once of the two sim crads. Generally i'm satisfied with the original "firmware" but i believe that these are two very important issuses and i'd appreciate any solution except installing a new rom

I noticed fp works much better on stock based roms than on aokp roms plus battery seems to last longer.

maybe you dont even have the "original" firmware, are you sure it is not a shop rom? (because official roms at least run smoothly)
try installing official rom if you dont like custom roms

Which one do you use or you found out that has no problems?
You're on AT&T, so I imagine Wifi Calling isn't important. I'd try one of the AOKP roms.
And it's fairly well known that the US 16s rom only supports data on SIM 1 (WiFi Calling as well). SIM2 on that rom is strictly 3G voice. As for the WiFi issues, I can't say. Never had that issue with the US 16s on my X820 phone. If you disable wifi hunting, and are within good range of a tower, battery life is pretty good with that one, and it's not terrible.

Stock ROM, and I would recommend Chinese 020s. It doesn't have play store but you can easily manage that.
Now I'm on Miui8 by CrisBalGreece and it's nice to have something different. I also used CM13 by UmbrellaTeam, was a good one. And for sure the official ROMs that are supported by developers in the development section are good (I'm talking about MM ROMs).
I settled down with CuoCu92 rom which works very well except the dead fp sensor. Now I kind of like this phone much more than the first day I got it. If the fp sensor could work, then it would be perfect.
Install official s21 Chinese. It's the best and newest no bugs.
S16 is very bad and old.
I just byed lemax2 i have a problame with my phone data connect still connecting but showing data connection is off what i do for it

This isn't the bug you are thinking of.
The bug you have is related to dual sim.
Right now on oreo you can only make a call to the sim you are currently using data with. It is a separate bug.

hello,
thanks for your answer, then i didn't understand what the fix was made for.
Do we know already when the bug i am talking about will be fix roughly ? It is pretty annoying because the rest of the ROM works really good ...
Can anyone confirm if the OP's fix (Kernel and Mixer.zip) works for fixing the call bug? I previously tested a few of the common Oreo builds on my A2017U and ran into the 'call bug' with just about every build. It happened to me most often with incoming calls where I had to turn the speaker on and off to workaround it. I just finished flashing my Axon 7 or I would test this myself.

No one seems to be able to fix it. All you can do is pray there is an official release from ZTE and someone is able to source a fix then. I have same problem as you and I hate it but there is nothing that can be done. Best to assume there will be no fix.

As far as i know, the A2017G was supposed to get an official Oreo rom by end of this month, should arrive quite soon. The thing is that A2017 from China already have an official Oreo Rom, and i don't think these 2 phones have such different hardware component in it, don't you think ?

Yes but it's not really easy for someone to use the phone in Chinese and see if these bugs are there. If there is any chance of them being solved having an official English release will help more than an unofficial Chinese one.
With things to do with mobile networking this is even more the case which the dual sim bug is probably related to. (There are different basebands that the U & G models work with for example).

Your dual sim statement is pretty weird
After installing almost every mainstream stable Oreo ROM I could find in this forum, I found a problem always recurring no matter what ROM I use, simply:
I can't receive any calls and SMS.
I am using a CDMA card, and I used every method I could use. But the problem remains. Only Pixel experience could keep the functionality. Pls,help.

It's so weird that only Pixel Experience works fine. I think I am gonna stick with it, for now.
Tip from me , do not fiddle with the Network settings alot , for example do not set the network to WCDMA/GSM mode. Use the modes that are higher in the menu with lots of Network modes.
Same issue here
I have the same issue- the 4G volte Airtel is not stable at all after installing all kinds of oreo roms.
Eventually i had to install the Europen version of MIUI rom which works so fine.
There is no issue when i use the MIUI basaed rom. however all other sorts of oreo roms have unstable thing.

but if I want the network to stay stable, i have to degrade it to 3G settings and then it works just fine... compromising the 4G speed
According to the issue- the network Bars are not stable, it comes and goes, also while playing online games such as clash royale, the internet disconnects, says try again on repeated occasions

It's a custom ROM problem, my guess is the ROM supports loads of network modes while the phone doesn't. But the thing is you won't lose signal service after u change it but after a restart. This was especially a problem for me because i do not use 4G which is enabled by default. I'm on a modded MIUI Rom now, no such problems here...

Hey all,
Am I the only one having issues during phone calls? When I call someone, sometimes the call drops randomly and I hear a network fail sound. I can't reproduce it. Sometimes it happens, others don't. Does anyone experience the same or have any solution? I have tried both SIM slots and doesn't help in any way. I have 4g coverage so I don't believe it's a problem with my network provider (vodafone).
Thanks
PS: Why not change the thread title to include 9S model as well?

I use this phone for work, and phone calls drop randomly

Just glad I'm not the only one but yes this problem is very annoying
I really want to give xiaomi a chance but this is the most basic function of a phone and it's failing
Previously it also had an issue of losing internet connection but I think they fixed that with a patch so hopefully there will be one soon with this call dropping issue (also sometimes I cannot receive calls either…)
randomly happens.
I'm on 11.0.8.0 USA
I hope they fix it. I really like this phone.
I ended up returning the phone. It is really annoying and as you said it's the most basic function of a phone. I'll be waiting for a fix and/or another model. I don't believe they'll fix it before miui 12 since it's just around the corner and that update may bring other bugs so they must not be fixing any bugs of miui 11. Just my 2 cents, of course.
I enabled wifi calling and its now stable when I am on wifi.
I use tmobile.
Enter these codes into the Dialer to enable the options in Settings. (Settings < SIM Cards & mobile networks < Sim Card Settings < VoLTE Enabled/Make Calls using WLAN)
VoLTE *#*#86583#*#*
VoWIFI *#*#869434#*#*
Things should work after you enable the two options.
I use wifi calling as well as network calling guys, every lengthy call eventually gets dropped. Very annoying!
I love the phone and I am holding hope in resolving these issues by flashing a custom rom. I asked the question regarding the call dropping and wifi bug in the Evolution X thread, apparently all is working well without problems with that rom.

I'm not sure. I've been keeping an eye out in the custom ROM threads for any mention of the two bugs. I haven't seen anything at all.
I asked the dev in the Evolution X thread and he confirmed all is working well regarding this. It seems that development is very active with that ROM, I really want to flash it but there are a few reports of people getting bootloop errors initially, and we still don't have the official TWRP.
I love Miui, after all you can freeze out or remove many of the pesky apps, it works well but it's just the call dropping and the wifi bugs that are plaguing many. This is a major issue that doesn't seen to be getting resolved. Pretty disappointing really.

I read that the developer QuantumShqipe has received some donations now to continue the ongoing work of Evo x which is great news for the development.
Just a note on wifi calling with Miui, I still get call dropping with wifi calls, even though I can be right next to the router. I also notice that the wifi calling icon is on and off. I never stays constantly on when in good range of the router. The preference is even set to 'prefer wifi to network' in settings. Putting the phone in airplane mode helps that problem but it's crazy having to do all these work arounds. Like you, and everyone else I just wish the issue would get fixed ASAP. I have never known any phone to have it's most obvious function fail.
You know what, Xiaomi developers knew about this problem with wifi/call drops. Of course they did. But management decided to rush the product to market to generate more sales. I feel stupid for buying a brand new phone but not in my wildest imagination could I believe they would mess up the very basic fundamental functions of a smart-phone.

Any tentative date of mui 12 release?

I too will be holding off until Miui 12, that will be the decider. I haven't a clue when it's rolling out, I thought late June but we're already there. I'm not bothering with any updates until then unless it's specific to the bugs.
More or less same issue
i also need some help. Redmi Note 8, with MIUI Global 11.09.9 Stable. The call drops in the middle of the conversation, that is, I can still hear my calling partner, but they cannot hear me anymore. It happens at random, not always but mostly, also, it happens after 1 minute or 5 or 10 minutes, not logical. Anybody? Already tried everything I think....
Redmi Note 9S - call dropping issue
I have the same problem with call dropping irregularly. The phone function is totally unreliable.
I tried many MIUI's so far:
11.0.3 (EU-official)
11.0.4 (EU-official)
11.0.4 (EU-XTRV from the Greek forum)
11.0.8 (Global-official)
11.0.11 (Global-official)
The problem persists with all of them, which means that most probably it is a hardware issue with a batch of this model.
