FIXED!!!
I used flashtool 0.9.19.8, and used fsc script, and BOOM worked!
Hi, i've been trying to downgrade Xperia M4 to .112, but whenever i try to flash it, it says that it couldnt flash boot delivery, that there are some files missing. I already tried with several flashtool versions including latest one, also with other ftfs (.99 .100 etc). The only one i'm able to flash it's 26.1.A.2.167. I feel like the phone lags to much on games and even just on interacting to it, so i want to downgrade so that i can root it without unlocking bootloader. If you've flashed M4, please tell me what flashtool version you used, and what build version. Or any tips on what could be happening. I'm on E2306, thanks in advcance!!

Hi everyone,
I have been playing with my Mini Pro for like 2 months
I know how to use Fastboot/flashtool to flash an unsecured Boot.img and how to unlock bootloader.
I have updated my Mini Pro to .377 firmware and then rooted it with Superoneclick
However I have used a unsecure Boot.img from .368 Firmware in order to root the phone,
So now my phone is with a rooted 377 Software with a 368 Boot.img,
the problem is, system keeps popping out to remind me updating to 377 Version (which I HAVE DONE obviously). in About Phone, it does show im on 377 version.
I just wonder if anyone can provide me a Boot.img from 377 (Stock or Unsecure, doesnt matter)
PS: I have have flashed the 377 Boot.img afterwards, would my data/apps be intact, do i need to set everything again?
Another question is, would anyone mind to teach me how to lock the bootloader again after rooting so that i can use SEUS?
Many thanks again and very best wishes to everyone.
(sorry for my poor english, Eng is not my first language)
Flashing the boot.img extracted from the new firmware with fastboot is recommended. this will not delete the data. For re-locking the phone, check this link:

hello, I've got a huge problem. I own Xperia Arc S and I wanted install the new Android ICS without waiting for my country release. It wasn't rooted and bootloader wasn't opened. I downloaded and installed Flashtools 0.6.8 for Windows from here:
http://ul.to/w076p5wf
Then I click on "Root" button, the process started but also ended with error and root failed. I also installed Flashtool-drivers --> click on Flashboot mode and flashed the kernel with kernel of ICS. Kernel was from:
http://eddy.uni-duisburg.de/bin4ry/L....0.562_NCB.ftf
from the page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1598072
It was ok so i click on "return to hone mode". But it failed and now my phone can not start. I only see startup sony ericsson animations which always reloads I tried remove the battery but it won't help. My computer on windows 7 also do not see dhe device, always trying to install the device driver and fails everytime. Please help if you can and know how
It seems I've got BootLoop...
So the Kernel is installed? Try to boot in recovery mod, maybe you have it now (I can't see the page where you downloaded the kernel). While you're smartphone is booting, press "Volume Down" again and again until you see the menu appear. Then you could do a wipe cache, maybe it will help
Hope someone will have a better answer...
I will try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450902
I am downloading 2.3.4 global generic from here:
http://uploaded.to/file/gsfx4w60
and then I will try to flash it with FlashTool 0.6.8.0
Ok, I think it will work! I hope you could use you're phone ASAP!
But to do this I need .ftf file, global generic, but I can't find it anywhere
even on XDA forum I tried, It is said that it is.ftf file and then I've got plenty of .sin files
Can somebody send me an .ftf file please?
I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314
you have to unlock your bootloader first to be able to flash anything other than the stock rom on your phone. it is free and you can do it through sony. but you might be able to flash the ics stock its just tricky due to flashtool needing an update
heres ics stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1598072
and how to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24825196&postcount=103
one post up has original .ftfs
it works! )
OK, I created my own ftf file (a few files, one of them worked), and flashed it with FlashTool, it seems that now I have pure stock 2.3.4 firmware although two of four branded applications from Orange has gone. I don't know why two are still in my phone if now I've got World generic (I've checked it in service menu), wired, hmm. Wired seems that all my applications I had before are still installed in my phone Also some new from stock sony like Let's golf or Video Unlimited. Now I will try to unlock bootloader, root the phone and will try to install ICS with FlashTool. Thanks a lot everybody for help and suggestions
Great!
Go unlock the bootloader and have fun!!
Hiya!
I have a Neo V/Kyno V (French retail version). I followed the procedure outlaid in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269 to unlock the boot loader by the unofficial method/test point.
After the unlock I checked values for "RUNNING" and "LOADER VERSION" and they both had a small "r" which should indicate that the unlock worked.
Then I flashed kernel back to 4.0.3, rooted, installed CWM, flashed kernel back to stock 4.0.4 and tried to install a custom ROMs via CWM (Spacious, Smooth & Light 4.0.4 and KA21.1).
In both cases, I got to the Sony-logo when rebooting after the flash, and no further. Waited for minutes but nothing happened. And I couldn't get into CWM either. I could flash the stock ROM using flashtool and start again. I even re-locked the boot loader and unlocked it again, to no avail.
Am I doing something massively wrong? Could it be that the boot loader shows up as unlocked in s1tool but actually isn't?
Thankful for any help.
Cheers,
Ben

did u flashed kernel via fastboot? in console?
No, I used flashtool as per the guide "{Guide} How To Root Xperiaâ„¢ Smartphone Running ICS or GB ( Ice Cream Sandwich or Gingerbread )" on the Sony Mobile discussion forums (cannot link as I do not have enough posts, sorry.
If your bootloader is unlocked then you should have directly rooted your 4.0.4 instead of switching the kernels of 4.0.3 and 4.0.4...

try change kernel for specific ROM.
in example : KA ROM and Spacious need kernel suave or ics stock kernel
Pls check again from the thread...
[Please ignore, how can I delete posts?]
@iamdchosen1:
That's what I thought, but then I didn't easily find instruction on how to root *with* unlocked BL, so I went for the standard way with locked BL. Thought that might be a wee bit more complicated but lead to the same result...
@megatpanji:
My kernel version says
2.6.32.9-perf

I thought I should be on stock kernel (and for the first try I definitely was as I had rooted before updating and somehow kept root and CWM after going to 4.0.4 ICS). If I'm not, I'll try to get to stock and try again.
I am slightly confused. Do I install stock kernel with flashtool or fastboot?
Cheers,
Ben
For stock kernel use flashtool!
But I suggest you to flash the whole stock firmware ftf file.. That would automatically restore the stock kernel!
Okay, I succeeded.
Flashed stock 4.0.4 ROM with flashtool
Flashed pre-rooted stock kernel with fastboot (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679771)
Booted into CWM
Installed Spacious, Clean & Light as before
And it works...
Sweet, thanks to you all for all the help!
One thing I do not understand is that my whatsapp message history seems to be gone. And I do not find ES File Explorer that should be pre-installed in SCL.
Cheers,
Ben
Hi all, i have been trying to root and install a custom rom for my Sony Xperia Z2, running stock firmware version 314. Previously i tried using the Dual Recovery that i found on this forum and using that to flash the rom, but it did not boot, so i had to use flashtool to restore my phone to a stock firmware, found on this forum as well. It is also the reason i am running firmware version 314, which i believe is not the latest version available, but i am unable to access OTA sony updates anymore.
I am still able to gain proper root access for my phone (verified using root checker from the play store), but for some reason am unable to flash in a working custom recovery that will help me install CM11 on my phone. I understand now that CM11 requires a custom kernel to operate, but am unable to flash one using Dual Recovery either. I am at a loss as to what to do. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated!
@Taeyeonist9 What did you use to root m8? I think you should read this first m8. You install dual recovery after rooting. If you have any more Q's I'll try and help you. Hope this helps a bit m8:good:

Oh, forgot to say that .314 is the latest firmware. May I ask if you have unlocked your bootloader, if you don't have OTA updates You wont get OTA updates if you are on the latest firmware.
Rooting Xperia Z2 Sirius
Hi its the same person here, i've no idea why i have two xda accounts and my desktop's browsers registers taeyeonist9 in chrome, while my laptop's registers taeyeonist, when both chromes are synced to the same google account. Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to look at my issue!
So yea, i realised that 314 is actually the latest version. And ive rooted using the easy root tool in that very link you posted above, i believe. So root access is not the issue. After rooting, I flashed XZ's Dual Recovery ,which includes TWRP, CWM and another third recovery i believe was included in the package. The Dual Recovery as i understand is only meant for devices which run stock kernels, with locked bootloaders. however from my understanding, legal regulations in Singapore, my country of residence, forces telcos to sell their devices without locking their bootloaders. Hence my bootloader is already unlocked and I BELIEVE this is not the issue ( pls correct me if im mistaken).
So the issue comes after i've successfully flashed XZ's Dual Recovery. At first i went on to straightaway flash the corresponding CM11 package for my phone and a copy of Gapps for Kitkat, and my phone soft bricked. Had to use flashtool to restore it with a stock kernel that was obtained from this forum, which resulted in my current condition of the phone - running stock firmware 314, and i was unaware that 314 is actually the latest firmware release, my apologies for that. I've tried flashing a custom kernel package using XZ's Dual Recovery too, DoomKernel v10, DoomLord's Advanced Stock Kernel package that includes CWM in it, neither worked, i ended up in the same softbrick situation. I've tried using fastboot to manually flash the kernels as well, perhaps due to my incompetence, i was unable to get the flash to be successful, it fails no matter what i try. So I'm at a loss now.... my Question is, is there any way i can get CWM onto my Xperia Z2 easily without it softbricking, so that i can then go on to flash CM11 using custom recovery method successfully? It's really frustrating because i know it can be done, i've seen the videos on youtube with ppl using CM11 on their Xperia Z2 devices, and I've tried it out on my spare phone, a SGS3, on which CM11 works wonders, and i really want to experience the magic that is CM11 on my Xperia Z2.
Sorry for my lack of technical knowledge, please go slow on the explanations. And once again, i extend my sincere gratitude to you or any other kind developer here who is willing to shed some light on my problem. i apologise for the wall of text
Thank you!
To clarify, when i say softbrick, i was only able to get the device in fastboot mode, and through flashtool, flash a copy of stock kernel obtained from another xda thread to restore it to factory condition. Other than this restoration method, my phone was essentially a brick. Nevrvewrecking:/ Appreciate the advice!
newbe at XZ2
Hi!
May I include my understanding of the issue.
I will get in the same situation in a view days when my Z2 will arrive.
At first, you have already root rights (rooted device) this doeasnt meen that you can flash what ever you want. It only means that you have more access right to your system than normal.
Bootloaders are locked by default but in some special cases it is not allowed to unlock it. (check service menu to get the info if unlockable or not)
If you want to flash roms with locked bootloader be shore to use roms with are able to be flashed with locked bootloader (LB), because the didn't change your kernel.
If you want to flash roms with a different kernel than stock you have to unlock you bootloader first, than you can flash almost every rom also the one statet (UB).
BTW: I thougt CyanogenMod uses there own kernel so its necessarry to unlock your bootloader if you want to flash CM.
However if you need to unlock the bootloader at first get root rights and backup your DRM keys because if they are lost you are unable to restore them any more, and they are necessarry if you will recover your phone to stock.
Hello guys,
Im trying to flash my Xperia 1 device to get the Android 10 update.
I tried to use Flashtool to do it but it's not working, when I select the ROM downloaded using Xperia Firm, I've rebooted to Flash mode successfully, i've got a lot of log lines, then Im stucked at this point :
INFO - Device connected in flash mode
I've also unlocked the bootloader successfully, but this didn't help.
Could you please help ?
Solved by using this tutorial and New Flasher, working great !
You shouldn't have unlocked the bootloader, that wasn't necessary. Use Newflasher to flash, not Flashtool. I'm not certain the FSC script for Flashtool has been updated yet to support Xperia 1
Jesus Christ...
Why do people keep thinking that you need to unlock the bootloader to simply upgrade the phone?
I'm shocked! And it's not the first one I read!
Now your warranty and DRM keys are gone.
I'm really sorry.
