when we first get a shiny new LG v10 I want to know how can we remove the ink on the screen protector that the phone comes with, so we don't have to buy a brand new screen protector. I think it is a waste of money if the phone comes with 1. any ideas I tried nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol but no success.
This is what im speaking about
Pretty sure you are out of luck. That film is not meant to be a permanent screen protector, it is only there to protect within the packaging, and to highlight features of the phone. You can get decent glass protectors on Amazon for less than $10, that's what I did, and they work fine.
I use too do it with baking soda and acetone but I think they caught on
You really just bought a $700 phone, and you're going to risk the screen over a 10 dollar cover?
Sent from my LG-H901 using Tapatalk
700 bucks no 400 yeah. And I think all phones should come with one. It is an investment towards the company. Most aftermarket stuff is over price or it is crap. I'm not rubbing the screen hard but would u not like 2 have a free screen protector for your 700 dollar investment?

Not if I have to do all that work.. 10 bucks is worth less than my time and effort.
Dude, just get a real screen protector. Like someone above mentioned, a good tempered glass screen protector is less than $10 (Yootech is a good one, for example), and it's gonna give you much better quality and last longer than the temporary screen protector, which is really not meant to be used once out of the box
I got this $3.29 Premium Tempered Glass protector screen with free shipping

I got a spigen case and screen protector for mine directly from spigen off eBay, $13 bucks, also got an obliq case off amazon for 7. $20 is a he'll of a lot cheaper than 175 for the deductible... Yeah free is great, not sure if you've noticed though, nothing is free.

Has anyone used those cheap screen protectors on ebay? Those that are like 1$. I was gonna buy a clear-coat but I thought that there must be some that are as good or even better for a cheaper price. Of course, I dont mean those 1$ ones but maybe $5, etc. So has anyone tried any protectors that were good from ebay? For me, smoothness is more important then clearness (stock protector clearness is good enough). Thanks
I always liked the cheap ebay protectors over expensive Zagg InvisibleShield. I usually buy set of 3 for 1.99 or 2.99.

LOL DONT! its **** if u live in canada (cold season in winter then hot in summer.. duh) the screen protector's first layer kinda like peels off from the screen protector itself and it looks gay... + not scratch resistent or uv resistent so its ***
I bought mine on a local mall for 8$US .. its got scratch resitent, UV resistent, auto heal ****...
I live in Canada, and for the last 5 phones ive been buying ebay protectors, cheap and not bad quality.. make sure the sellers feedback is good tho
i bought cheap screen protectors off of 2 different sellers on ebay and they are cheap for a reason! they arnt cut properly and are larger then the screen. they cover the ear peace and physical buttons just a tad. so whenever you put your phone in your pocket the sides catch on your jeans and peels off the screen selector.
It really depends. While I didn't buy any from ebay, I received 10 or so screen protectors from the seller of my X10. They look like the $1 from ebays and while the fitment is great, I see a very bad rainbow effect across the entire screen. I've never seen this on the more quality expensive ones.

This is my experience as well.
I prefer the cheap ones. I brought them for my old phones and they fit reasonably well. They are pretty good quality for the price.
Well, i have bought cheap pnes from ebay and from amazon, never had any problems at all, they have always fitted perfectly, not discolored or distorted either.
I also have some stealthguard (the ones they handing out for free - usually ~£20) shields, which is what im using at the moment.
The stealthguards "stick" better so they dont peel at the corners or anything, and they are a lot more scratch resistant so you dont have to replace them as often, but i would never pay full price for them, they simply are not worth it.
Ultimately i would recommend ordering a couple of "free" ones from stealthguard, but failing that you cant really go wrong with ebay
I have tried cheap ones for my X1 more than a year ago. Can't recommend them. They were hard to get onto the screen because they were so thin and weren't scratch resistant. Pulled them off after a few weeks each.
For my X10 I have bought protectors for 10 euros each. They are great. Scratch resistant, easy to get them onto the screen, and each lasts at least a year, until you have to pull it off, wash it and put it back on again (yes this works really).

I bought the XtremeGUARD one from eBay for less than three dollars (USD) with free shipping. (Sometimes the seller will have a sale and offer it for one dollar with free shipping.) It's one of those wet application ones where you have to use soapy water.
Aside from having to put it on with water, application can be tricky since your fingertips need to be covered in soapy water too or else fingerprints will get onto it. A lot of air bubbles will also get in there, but those are pretty easy to get rid of.
The only thing I don't like about XtremeGUARD is that it has this kind of 'orange peel' look once everything is dried and you look at the screen when it's completely dark. It's not that noticable, though, and I accept it.
The quality and protection is right up there with the expensive protectors (I do know people with the ZAGG ones), and I thought it was a good buy.
i bought 3 for a $1. the description said anti-glare but when it arrived it was basically just a regular clear protector. So in order for it to be anti-glare it has to be matte?
I found a 6 thing of screen protectors for only 99cents with free shipping on eBayand from USA only took 3 days to get. Its nice!
<delete please>
I posted in the wrong thread :/
The day the gs2 was released I called every AT&T store in the area looking for "regular" screen protectors. They kept trying to up sell me on the re-usable anti-glare screen protectors that cost $15-$20 more. Five stores later I tried to order them. It wasn’t until then that I was told that AT&T wasn't stocking regular screen protectors, only the anti-glare ones. Went to the mall and found some at a cell phone kiosk for $10.
Screw you AT&T.
In my country they cost around 20$

All AT&T stores sell Moshi Screen Protectors. They are actually really good, durable, anti glare and anti fingerprint screen protectors. Not like the regular screen protectors that come in a pack of 3. Those peel at the edge, and after they do, you have to take them off an apply a new one on them. They scratch real easily and are very thin. The Moshi you are referring to are far from the cheap screen protectors. Not only are they 2-3 times as thick, but are 100 times a lot easier to install. They also won't peel up on you. You get what you pay for. I'm very satisfied with my Moshi Screen Protectors. A month in, no scratches, no bubbles, no peeling. Overall, a very high quality product worth every penny. Highly recommended.
The cheap eBay ones will most likely scratch easier than the $10-$20 range screen protectors, meaning you will have to replace the screen protector often if you want it to look clean/clear.
Best Skins Ever
Just thought I would share my experiences.. I am new to the Android community, as this is my first phone after having several iPhone models.. So far so good, loving it! Anyways, I have always used the skins from bestskinsever.com and they have always done what they need to do.. Easy to apply (as long as you don't get any air bubbles), and protect the phone very well.. I was following the site and just today noticed they finally have up skins for the AT&T model, and they are always perfectly cut to fit precisely! So thought I'd share, as it isn't a pricey option at all.. Cheers!
Just got my G3 from Best Buy on Sunday and this phone is pretty impressive. I always like to get a screen protector as soon as the phone comes out of the box. I bought the Zagg Invisible Shield Tempered Glass screen protector and it is pretty awesome. Don't have to worry about the orange peel that is on their regular screen protectors and the clarity is really good. Check it out.

I also scratched my screen on the very first day. I am not sure how I scratched it but its there. So in a case of closing the barn after the horse ran off I bought a tempered glass screen protector from Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGSW734/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Price wise it was 9 dollars but I really liked and and best of all is that it has a life time replacement warranty.
Now about the actual glass its not too thick and though it does slightly protrude a bit you don't really notice unless your really looking for it. The shape is perfect and fits exactly as it should reaching the edges exactly.
Now for the scratch proof test, Since it did have a lifetime warranty I said screw it and took a knife to it. I really did try to scratch it and I wasn't successful. I thought those advertisement pics and videos were bull$hit but it really didn't scratch.
Anyway all in all I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice screen protector and doesn't like the feel of the thin film/ membrane type ones.
That's really cool. I picked up my glass protector yesterday. The brand is body guardz. Purchase price was $39.99+tax. No life time warranty, but if you register you can grab replacement at 20% discount.

Interesting product. I scoffed at the idea of paying $40 for a screen protector, I've lived through all my smartphones on cheap Ebay films. They get scratched up over time, but by the time I even think I should replace it, the phone is over a year old anyway. I've never applied more than 2 over the life of a phone, and the one on my EVO 4G LTE is the one I applied on launch day. Even so, for this price I'd go for the glass protector. That micro-ridge you'd get would be covered by a case anyway, too.

Possibly, I guess it all depends on how big the scratch and how deep it is. Doesn't hurt to try and protect it from more scratches.

I used to get Bodyguardz but they didn't have the anti-glare for the G3, then I found iCarez on Amazon. It has better quality than Bodyguardz and comes with three protectors. Best of all, the price was $4.95.
I am very particular with my phone. My phone is naked except for the screen. I used to use Zagg on my HTC EVO 4G and Galaxy Nexus, then switched to Bodyguardz for my Nexus 5, but when I realized they didn't make the anti-glare for the G3 I was lost. Amazon saved me. I am so happy I found iCarez. I have another set in the way for my wives new iPhone too.

If i kept my phones long enough i would pay for something like a zagg. Truth is i change phones a lot. Sometimes i dont even have everything come in that i order before i have traded or sold/bought another one. For this reason i usually get a 7-10$ ebay tempered glass protector. I love the glass ones. I cant see how paying an extra 25$ could make it that much better. The cheaper ones feel great imo. I dont think i can ever go back to a plastic screen protector now that i have used glass

5 months into using the Icarez and I have to say I still love it. No problems with it whatsoever and it still hasn't been scratched. What else can a person want from a screen protector?
@ScottPa74- no problem for the recommendation. THe first thing I do when i get a new device hel sometimes even before I get i come to XDA to check out whether its worth it and what should I get for it.
I know a lot of people dislike ZAGG, but I've always liked there products. This was the first time I tried tempered glass, and I'm glad I did. It's ridiculously smooth and clean. Feels like the original screen it covered. Perfectly responsive, and my circle case closes great.
I think these very expensive Glass shields are not better than the 10 Dollar ones
All have the same description "Tempered---bullet proof ---oleophobic---9H" and so one.
Looks like they all are made in the same factory, the only difference is the label they put on the package

Zaggs warranty for tempered glass shield consist of paying $10 shipping and handling charge every time you decide use the warranty.. Yep the same $10 price you can get a similar tempered glass protector. So yeah I think its a total rip off cause of the initial startup price of $39.99
Again not gonna argue bro..most things are made by the same factories. I worked for Chevron 20 years, Chevron mfg all the oil for Castrol...same formulations. Yet people preferred Castrol. So I guess I'm throwing my money away. Sorry that bothers you
no one is arguing with you man; if you want to pay 40 bucks for something you can get for 10, thats your choice..
IMO, Zagg is the most overpriced brand in the Android accessory world, but, to each his own..
Your right, I'm an idiot

The coupon works with that one as well.
Edit: Came out to $6
I am using one of the tempered glass screen protectors on my Oneplus One right now. I bought 2 of them when they were $49.99 and then 90% off coupon so $10 total.
I also had bought an Orzly tempered glass for my Oneplus One and it looks and feels identical to the Xtemegaurd. The only difference is the packaging.
The Xtemegaurd comes in an envelope while the Orzly comes in a very nice package.
I have had the Xtemegaurd Spartan Glass on my Oneplus One for a couple of weeks and no marks that I can find and it is so much nicer than even a Spigen Ultra Crystal screen protector. Tempered glass really feels like the actual screen and is much better with fingerprints.
figured these would work well until a tempered glass is confirmed to work since the class might be curved

Oh thanks a bunch man, bought a bunch of glass screen protectors and some of the regular ones. Figured it was so cheap it was worth the risk involving the phone having a slightly curved screen.
