So I have downloaded and installed the remix os legacy and efi versions, both ended up in the same scenario. I boot up the pc it boots form the usb first, then goes into windows. It will show the command line screen, the courser will go down a couple of lines, all blank by the way, and then boot into windows. I dont know why it does this, can some one help?? I went to the G+ page and found out R9 graphic cards are not supported, is the the cause? I have an AMD 8350 CPU and R9 280X GPU.
Thanks!
Ok, so update. I am booting with efi right now and I selected resident mode and I said "can't find system.sys" or something along those lines and I am using a USB three drive and it also says write speed is 4.5MB/s.

if it's that slow .... you just aren't being patient enough. also if you've stopped the process along the way after it does that write speed test.... it's possible you damaged the files. i ran into the same problem. i formatted the drive and re-installed and did the process over and just waited.... 20+ mins. it finally booted. then i turned my pc off booted into windows and copied everything from the usb to a fat 32 partition on my ssd and boot from that runs MUUUCH faster boots in seconds
Ok, I'm not pressing anything besides enter whenever it tells me to, and I'm currently in remix is rn even after it said the system error. So idk

Good lord! Dont even think of booting it from that garbage usb drive. Get a better one, with atleast 25-28MB/s speed. Or, you will be stuck on the booting screen forever. Trust me brother, spend a few bucks, get a better pendrive.

Man, I actually had around 19.2 MB/s. Its not accurate, but atleast it works. The internal storage is not worth the pain, though. I probably will stick to android x86.

The other day my battery died completely and the phone shut off. I plugged it in the charger and went to bed. Well the next day I find all my files aren't being read by the apps. Gallery sees no pictures, settings sees no ring tones. I formatted the sd card and when I Download a ring tone it still can't find the file even though it's there in root explorer. What happened?

what rom ??
we need more info about the OS....
Also...when you open your app drawer, then go to "files" ( or the file app you use) , do you see "external sd" as a folder anywhere in your file structure ?
And next question....did you format to a FAT32 file structure on your external SD ?

Found the possible problem...
The CM thread is alive with reports of your same issue. and based on what I just read, the fix varies greatly, and the bug reports are mixed between users.
Long story short, if you can get a rom to your internal SD card, you can flash a fresh copy to the device and restore the connection.
I've read reports of data loss when the device is "completly" dead on power. And even when the phone is shut down, the battery still provides some power internally. and when gone, the data is messed up ??? (cant confirm this)
Try this first >>>>>>>>>>>>> using the "exact" same rom you have now, simply flash right over the top of your current build. As this will likely fix the broken function of the device.
The hard part is getting the rom to the internal card. and this will need to be done with a PC, then move it to the phone for Flashing in CWM.
The other solution (and my personal favorite) is to use another rom. I have used CM for years, but I'm not using it right now because of the bugs they are working to fix, and the s-pen.
I'ts your call, but at least try the rom flash first. (the same one you have now, no wipe, flash only)
thats the best guess for today.....g

If anyone is having the issue I had where Windows 8 wouldn't detect the phone (but would for a few short moments detect it as a disk drive), the fix is almost amusingly simple. You have to be a bit quick on this, but it will solve the problem. When you connect the phone, an alert will pop up in the top right corner of your computer screen asking what to do with Disk F: (may be a different letter), click on that. The first option is to run Verizon bootstrap. Click that and the Verizon software specifically for the phone will install. For some stupid reason, it is setup as an autorun file which of course was eventually disabled by Microsoft.
Is there anywhere to download a copy of that file? When I connect my phone it goes straight to Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM with a code 28 error in the device manager.

Hope this fixes the problem! It was the only thing that fixed mine after several days of messing with other drivers and apps.
Windows cannot find C:\Verizon_Android\Bootstrap-Helper.exe error when I try and run it.
Hmm. Same thing just happened to me. Guess it depends on the other files in the folder. I'll have a new link with everything and an explanation of what you need to click in a few minutes (assuming everything goes smoothly).
Sorry about that last one. I'm not much of a software person. I just poke and prod and tinker until I have a eureka moment. This file is considerably larger (24MB) but has everything that was in the folder. And FYI, when you go to run the exe (the same one as last time), it's going to open a pop up window that is a verizon page advertising their backup services. Feel free to close out of it.

Thank you! The program installed and is running properly however it still isn't picking up my phone. Any chance you could do me a huge favor and take a screen shot of your device manager and let me see what the device looks like on your end? I have to be missing something with the drivers, there's no way this phone should be giving me this much trouble.
Everything labelled as Samsung is what showed up.
Well that confirms it. How are you installing your drivers? I have them on my system however I can't get windows to recognize them.
Since it says qualcomm, I must ask which phone you are using. The Note II uses the Exynos processor by ARM, where Qualcomm is usually the Snapdragon family of processors. As far as the drivers themselves, I got them from that installer. I had tried installing standalone drivers but it failed every time.
I'm using the verizon note 2. Whenever I plug it into my computer that pops up.

I've plugged it in 3 computers, a xp system, a windows 7 system and a windows 8 system all with the same results.
I'm pretty much at a loss on that one. If you haven't tried installing the Qualcomm drivers themselves, you can find them here.

first i am new and dont know a lot about software/android
i used this guide to try to flash the liquid jelly bean
androidauthority.com/galaxy-note-i717-android-4-1-1-liquid-jelly-bean-custom-rom-114126/
since the ROM download link wasnt working i downloaded it from here
android.gs/install-liquidsmooth-custom-rom-on-att-samsung-galaxy-note-i717-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean/
in the first link i followed the steps BUT forgot to do a clean/wipe the factory data
now after the flashing completed i hit reboot now and waited 6min than i tried to hold down the power button and nothing. took out battery and try to restart but nothing
how do i go back to either the reflashing or to my old ICS flashed version (using tmobile sim with forced 4g)?
My battery was full and every time i try to plug it to my pc it keeps telling me to format the sd/internal storage.
Pull battery and put back
Hold power and both volume buttons
At Samsung screen, release ONLY power
Keep holding volume, recovery will come up
Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe cache partition
While you're at it, go to Mounts and storage - Format system
Reinstall ROM

what options do i have to fix this
The phone is likely bricked ...
The link you used is likely the same one another user tried yesterday.
It's not an I717 rom....it's actually a GS3 rom, and when flashed, instantly bricks the device.
You likely need a JTAG repair on the device, as it is hard bricked with no download mode.
Very sorry, it's a bad deal...but users "must" verify rom sources before flashing...
The link you used has bricked your device....g
Someone needs to report to the writer that they're referring people to an incorrect ROM. Granted its not their fault but damn. People do whatever the internet tells them to and we already have enough "bricked" threads.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
so just one thing
should i try the usb download mode dongle thing first or try the JTAG service and are which ones on AMAZON are compatible with att note
Concerning this issue, there is room for improvement by devs and users both.
I have to say many of the liquid items are not organized well. After so many issues due to this you would think at some point they would be cleaned up. Also while I agree folks should confirm they have the correct rom, files, etc before flashing, it takes verry little to add safeguards to a rom making it device specific so it will not flash to an unintended device.
Just my two pennies.

And what you did here and what you are recommending is fraud. You voided the warranty when you rooted it and flashed a custom rom to it. I wouldn't say you got lucky I would say you cheated the system
I did the ODIN to MI3 last night and now no matter what I do the device will reboot shortly after it turns on and starts to update the apps and Sprint configuration. I've gone into stock recovery and wiped data, I've rooted and flashed stock MI5, I've even ODIN'd to MI3 just now and it still continues to reboot. Any ideas?
So I saw somewhere that someone removed their 64GB SD card and it fixed the issue, and sure enough it is working fine now. Anyone know how to fix the SD card to where it will work with the device?

I actually have a 64GB in mine, but even tho i havent faced random reboots, i notice something weird in the gallery after a while. I'm not completely sure, but i think my friend who gave me the 64GB micro SD must have gotten it from China or so. I plan to pick up a 32GB from a local store nearby.

I bought mine about a month ago from Best Buy. It works fine in every other phone and causes no issues.
If you are using TWRP the 64gb SD card must be formatted to FAT32. Even if the card is already fat32 it has to be freshly formatted. I know this isn't directly related to your reboot issue up I would give it a shot

I had this issue too. I would remove my card once it booted and it would work fine until I had to restart my phone again. The fix that I stumbled on that I have found that works for me is to. Goto Settings- WiFi - Advanced - and uncheck "Always Allow Scanning"
It's mentioned in the previously posted article link. Just confirming that it fixed my issues.

I exchange the batteries (it was not turned on and loaded.)
I connected to Windows PC with and without battery, it is recognized as qhsdload usb.
I connect Ubuntu to attempt to débrick , it is not recognized. and the two xda softwares (unbriking project and universal) showed (waiting for devices, and no device found).
