[Q] permanently download from card reader to gallery

I can't seem to figure out how to permantly download pictures from memory cards to the gallery on my tab. They show up as long as card reader is plugged in but disappear when removed. Using the Samsung USB adapter with Sony 17 in 1 card reader.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Tried searching but my keyboard disappears when I click on search box......?
I'm not sure what you're asking. It makes sense to me that once you unplug the card reader that none of pictures on the card reader would be viewable.
If you want those photos in your gallery after you remove the SD card then copy them to the Tab's internal memory from the SD card.
Thats what im trying to do... Transfer files to tabs internal memory.

Use a file explorer app like EZ File Explorer, ASTRO File Manager or Root Explorer. In your /sdcard/ folder copy the images from a folder named usbStorage to your Pictures or any other folder in /sdcard/.
Ok thnx... Will try tonite

*Automatically* Move Files from phone/internal SD to External SD?

Anyone know how to *automatically* move files from one place to another on the phone?
For example, I can get my camera to save files to the internal SD but not external.
But I have a sweet 64gb SD card, so I'd like to have an app or something that would automatically move the files over.
Any ideas?
And yes, I know I could do it manually using a file explorer but I want a "set and forget" solution.
I'm not sure about all the files you want on ext storage but for photos this is what I did. First im using camera zoom fx for my camera app. It let me create my own folder on my sd card and now all my photos go there. Check the apps you use that save files to your phone if you can edit the save path.

Look for that folder called ex_sd or something like that. thats where your real sd card files are

sdcard isn't the folder. that's the internal bit you get courtesy of the powers that be.
you want to look for either /sdcard2/ or /ext-sdcard/

[Q] Permissions of external SD files/folders

How do I change permissions of files/folders on my external sd card, preferably with the ES File Explorer app? Is there a way to hide files/folders that are on the external card?
I can easily use it to change permissions of files/folders at the root level by accessing the "properties" option of said file, but I don't get this same functionality on stuff in my ext SD card... Am I missing something or is there some good reason why this is not possible (loaded question, I know)?
You don't set permissions in storage space...
To hide it, just put a . At the beginning of the name
For photos and videos you don't want showing in the gallery, put them all I'm the same folder, and then make a file named:
.nomedia
Then simply reboot.

Hi folks I need help for folder permissions...

Not sure what i've done wrong, but since day 1 I got my RMN2... im unable to tell my apps to use other folders in SD card.
Like My Backup Root I cannot specify backup path to my SD Card, there's no prompt telling me to give permissions to the app to access my SD card... Same goes for Open Camera... ES file explorer when copying files to SD card...
How do i go about doing that
Okay nvm, I solved it... I've done this solution before and it didnt work... so not sure why it worked now...
Downloaded SD Card Fix from playstore... its meant for 4.4 but also works for RMN2
Just got my RMN2 a few days ago and had the same problem. The permissions could not give new permissions and so I tried the SD Card Fix and now my apps can delete and modify files from my sd card. Thanks.
