Wireless charging pad - Nexus 6 Accessories

guys - which pad do you recommend? I already have a case that's compatible with a pad

Thx

I use this guy. Works well with the Nexus 6 and my case. Has a littel grip with the rubber pads and has a light to let you know it is charging. You can also put your phone in on its side and adjust it a bit to make it work that way as well.
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Char...25550&sr=1-1&keywords=spigen+wireless+charger

I have used many pads and stands and none of them have any trouble charging through my two-layer Ringke Max case. Here are the chargers I've used:

http://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Wireless-Standard-Motorola-Smartphones/dp/B00IRHQZTI

I've had this one since the nexus 4. Used it for the 5 and 6 as well as nexus 7..http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=131705857592&alt=web

get a knockoff tylt or make your own. follow my link. I have a tylt I dont see why a knockoff would be any different

Ochee charging pad works great.

I'm using this one since my Nexus 5 and it works wonders with the Nexus 6 as well...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F358AVI/

In addition to the Spigen F300W mentioned earlier, I've used the Choetech Iron and am currently using the well-known Tylt Vu.
They all push about 650-700mA (according to Ampere) while charging through my Spigen Ultra Hybrid case. For reference, Ampere reads about 2300mA using the turbo charger.

I use the same powerbot that I've had since my nexus 4 and 5. Still works fine.

I really like this one:

Had it for over a year.
Also use this in the car (with a couple of mods to make it work better):

Wireless Charging for Note 3?

Hey guys,
I am new to wireless charging and one of my colleague talks highly positive of the concept. Specially when at night, how easy it is to pick up the phone from the charging pad, surf for a while and put it back without the hassle of looking for the wire and plugging into the ports.
I have a note 3.. and planning to go for a sgp neo hybrid case.. will i be able to make use of the charging pad along with the neo hybrid case. I do understand that a custom case cover is needed for using the wireless charging kit.. which is provided by samsung for S4. but i think they still havent come up for N3.
Anyhow i've seen on various youtube videos that many a times third party cases also work with wirelss charging without the mod/hack. Anyone tried neo hybrid for n3 with their charging pads?
I have tested this with 3 different cases except the Spigen because I haven't received it yet but I don't think that this case will be the exception

Thanks for your reply, but what was the outcome? were u able to charge with the third party cases? Are the charging times same.. slower or faster.
With Samsung charging kit that includes the back cover and the pad, they claim that the charging is faster than conventional charging cos it charges at 600MAh's.
M8 QI has sensor at least my pad has so if it beeps and light goes green in pad no matter if I have the phone naked or in a case it charges with 640ma this charge my phone in 4 to 5 hours which occurs every night and I am fine. Imagine that I had put a plastic cap in bottom of phone to have the usb3 plug clean from dust.

Jerry thanks for your response and your the discount code. i will start reading the pros and cons of the charger.
Can you try to upload some pictures etc.. i like the 45 degree slant.. its like a dock.. that charges wirelessly.. instead of placing on a pad. Good stuff.
Pls try to put some reviews. If you can today i will place the order tonight.
The 45 degree needs inside the back cover I think 4 metal things and the base has magnets and that's how it stands. I have this http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=360732881624&globalID=EBAY-AU and is working fine, I had post a video also in the 1st wireless thread here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LaQQnc2dmU&feature=youtube_gdata_player that I demonstrate it

That's just your standard Qi charging pad. Won't work with your N3 unless you have the 'official' Samsung charging back plate, or you modify a receiver between your stock back plate, and battery.
In my experience,
With the samsung charging back plate, none of the standard N3 cases will fit on the phone anymore. It's because the back plate is thicker than the stock one.
With a receiver installed between the stock back plate and battery, it will bulge out. I don't like that either.

Another thing, the charger is a 1Amp charger, i believe for the N3 you need atleast 2Amp.

I am not sure if the N3 and S4 use the same charging technology, cos in this video below the guy is charging a S4 on the TYLT
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5g2rVraB1g
The thing i like about tylt is that it has three coils for charging unlike one for others, where u dont have to find the sweet spot... and lay your phone to pickup the right spot for charging.. demo on this video

What I was trying to clarify, that even if you bought that charging stand, you'll need the wireless receiver on the phone itself.
That didn't seem clear to everyone on this thread.

That's only if you have the official Samsung charging back installed.
See this link;
http://www.mobilefun.com/40793-official-samsung-galaxy-note-3-wireless-charging-cover---black.htm
The Note 3 does not support wireless charging unless you buy that back, or a receiver that goes between the battery and stock back plate.

Thanks for all the links.
I guess i understand about the receiver now. Just read the whole wireless charging thread on this section.
This is totally new to me, hence the confusion... the back cover you mentioned.. does it add bulk to the phone.. as in thickness?
Is there a way a single coil or some chip can be added to the current phone cover. I have verizon model.

Yes, the samsung wireless charging cover is thicker. Will add 2mm, therefore, all your cases won't fit. Including the Neo Hybrid.
You can get receiver that goes between the battery and cover, but from my experience, it makes the rear cover bulge a bit.

1) Samsung has a wireless charging back (wireless receiver built-in) that replaces the battery cover/back already on the phone.
It makes the phone too thick for a case (a bumper might work).
2) They also make a S-view flip cover that replaces the stock back and has the wireless receiver built-in, no additional case needed.
3) Aftermarket Qi receivers can be purchased on Amazon and eBay that are placed inside the stock back cover, and if they don't cause a significant bulge in the back you can use a normal case, but one with a TPU or silicone back is most likely to work.
4) If you have a Qi receiver from a Note 2 (or similar) you can modify it to work inside the stock back cover.
ALL of those methods will require a Qi transmitter, or charging pad.
At least one seller on Amazon is offering a kit with both the Qi insert & charging pad, about $30 when I last looked.

Adding the official samsung back cover with 2mm is not a big issue, but i dont wan to loose the phone protection without a neo hybrid.

I was looking at the video again, it doesnt look like attaching the receiver on your original cover has added any bulk or thickness right? Do you think it will fit the neo hybrid case.
Amazon has these receivers for 10 bucks or so.. i was planning to get one of these receivers and then get the TYLT pad for charging.. I was reading reviews accross various forums, and people are having high opinions about TYLT's features.

The cheap one may have been from eBay, or it's gone up.
Best price I see for a kit now is $48, http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Wire..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1382047175&sr=1-3
There is a $10 qi insert:
http://www.amazon.com/Docooler-Stan...1382048041&sr=1-19&keywords=note+3+qi+charger
plus a $20 charging pad:
http://www.amazon.com/DigiYes®-Stan...1382048041&sr=1-23&keywords=note+3+qi+charger
By the way, I ordered an insert from that seller, it said "in stock" but the expected delivery time was 24 to 43 days once I got the order in. It does seem like you should know that before ordering.

Wireless Charging Question...

I have the Samsung OEM Wireless charging pad and a QI receiver pad set up...
With my S3, I was able to charge through an Otterbox case. With the Note 3 and a UAG case, it isn't able to charge without connecting/disconnecting. Is this an issue with the receiver or would a new charging pad make a difference? I was already looking at the LuguLake...
Thanks for any suggestions!

Try to take out some adhesives from the qi receiver in specific the ones that facing the backplate and try again. I don't have the original pad but 2 cheapo eBay ones and 3 receivers and all combinations work fine with any case including Spigen or a leather fat portfolio that I have.

maybe the charging current is not enough for note 3 if you have installed them at right position.
i think that the charging current of note 3 need to be bigger than s 3.
Can someone else comment on this? I'd like to snatch up the Samsung wireless charging kit, but I use a Spigen case. Has anyone had any luck using the official charging kit with an aftermarket case? Thanks.
Have you tried it without the UAG case?

Wireless slim hard case

Just to let you know that the official LG slim hard case/battery plate that has wireless charging makes the phone slightly bigger so cases like Spiegen won't fit. I bought one for my Korean F400k to get wireless charging and now I can't put my Slim Armour case back on. And this is the non bumper variation of the two backplate covers LG makes which I wrongly assumed would be a straight replacement of the existing backplate. Notwithstanding, it is pretty nice as it gives the phone a much better textured grip...but not much by way of drop protection.
One more thing, you can forget using the Nexus wireless charger (the little square one): the phone keeps telling you to move it to the hotspot, no matter how you position it. The Nokia upright charger works fine though.

I have used this Dock from Amazon for over a month and works great. The side arm will push down on the volume down button unfortunately. The arm can be modified to avoid this, or use a case with cut-outs for the buttons (I use Spigen slim fit cases).
The dock works great though

Yeah, but iOttie is only 4 cents cheaper
How aboit heating and charging time in Tylt? If screen phone is off, how long does it take to go from for example 10% to 60%?

It chargers very quickly. The desktop Nokia I use takes much longer in comparison but I've been using it for years now, had a DNA and a g2 after that, now a N6. The Tylt is just a quality piece and looks great too.
The reviews on Amazon say that the Tylt Vu car charger doesn't work very well with the Nexus 6. The claims seem to be about how well it actually grips and holds the phone (and not so much about charging or feeling cheap).
I've got iOttie already. When plug in motorola stock charger then it charges 50% in about 90 minutes. Grip is very good. No risk of drop. Battery during the charging is cold. Tomorrow I'll try a car charger.
I have the Ghostek Qi car charger coming today from amazon. I'll post pics when it gets here.

Apparently the Nexus 6 fits without a case pretty tightly. I'll know more once I try it myself. $29.99 is one of the better prices I have seen.

It grips and holds the phone fine naked and with a thin case. Using it with my Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro rugged case works but its jammed in there.
I can tell you which one not to buy, even know it has a ton of good reviews.
Wireless Charger, TechMatte Qi Wireless Charging Pad for Galaxy S6,...

It's got a terrible sweet spot that has the phone off centered. The pad itself feels like it came right off the .99 cent ship from China. I'm returning it as we speak and getting something more quality. Just wanted to let you know in case the 25 dollar and almost 5 star review enticed anyone. Hopefully the next one will be better.
I read a few reviews about the phone over heating on the tylt....can anyone confirm or deny that? It looks quality and I'm also wondering if it has to be set exactly in place or if it has some wiggle room. Thanks in advance.

I'm using the Qi-infinity dock from Amazon. It works fine. I actually have a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case on there. Although I haven't tested it to the extent of charging it while running GPS, BT and all that simultaneously.

I use this one .If I leave my distronic slim fit on it pops on and off charging.Take off the case and it works fine. It does touch the bottom volume button but hasn't been a problem.

Cases that are wireless charging compatible

Merry Christmas everyone I got a Nexus 6 today as an early gift to celebrate Christmas and I love it. Are there any cases or charging pads that are powerful enough to be able to charge wirelessly with the case on?
What cases do you guys use? Also, I am a huge Buffalo Bills fan (they let me down on Sunday ) and are there any good custom cases that I can design the Bills logo on?
I have a unicorn beetle and it works on my moms ****ty verizon wireless charger. Not sure if its the chargers fault or the phones, but the charger sure looks cheap... It charges @ 500mA

Premium I guess... Just the normal one.
mine chargers fine on my cheap amazon wireless charger through the caseology case. nfc payments read ok too, not great but they work eventually.
What kind of caseology case? With the bumper?
I use a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case on mine - does everything I need (bumper surround to protect the phone, clear see-through back, slightly proud at the front to protect the screen when the phone is face down). I also use an IntelliArmor tempered glass screen protector.
The Spigen works fine with all my Qi chargers, both desk and car (I have quite a few, as I was trying lots of them when I first got the phone).
(Once you use Qi charging you'll never want to go back. I was all ready to buy a 6P, but the lack of wireless charging was a deal breaker for me).

I'll second this. I'm also using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid with my Nexus 6, and I have absolutely no issues with all three of my Qi chargers. To be perfectly honest, I've found that I prefer the convenience of my Qi chargers over the speed of my quick chargers. Don't get me wrong, I still use my quick chargers when I need a speedy boost, but I love just being able to set my phone down and not having to pick up a cord and plug it into my phone.

Wirelessly charge mine every night with this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B017O..._rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2068141862&pf_rd_i=mobile
I, too, have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case.
I've used it so far with the CHOETECH Iron Qi stand, as well as the Spigen F300W Qi stand.
With both of them, Ampere reports that the phone is charging at 620 to 700ma.
