FAQ
Can I use this tool on my Asus ZenFone with Android 4.4?
Of course you can, this tool has been specifically made for ZenFones (running Android KitKat). So unless you do something extraordinarily stupid there is nothing that can go wrong. And if you think you have the potential to do something that stupid, abort! I repeat abort the mission!

The application says Xposed is currently not active, yet everything was installed. Is it alright?
Also, when I try to activate a module, it says cannot write to /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/modules.list

Open Xposed Installer. Now click on "Framework". Now check whether the values below "active" and "bundled" are same. If they are not same than click on "Install/Update". Then simply reboot. If this doesn't solve the problem, feel free to reply.

yep they are the same, (the green colored numbers on the left, the same with on the right)
Yet xposed says it isn't active nor installed. Still experiencing problems activating modules though.. I cannot activate any module and instead, it shows that error I posted above.

Yo. Xposed is pretty unstable at zenfone 5. At least for me I can't run the greenify module and didn't tried the amplify but the greenify keeps rebooting the phone and so...Now I only use greenify @ root and it's fine. And I removed the xposed
Not really

Xposed is not at all unstable. The only issue ZenFones ever had with Xposed was the installation bit, and that's why we have this tool. I haven't used Greenify so I can't write anything about it but so far I have had no issues with Xposed framework.

Installation was fine. Greenify can run and how it works. Other modules for xposed well. I have a problem that applications that are not part of xposed causes the system rebooted. For example, e-mail, weather, 2SD card, and many more. I was very much looking forward to xposed. But for restart other applications we have to uninstall it.
Any idea

It might be possible that Greenify is causing all your problems. So what I suggest is a clean Xposed Install. And not use Greenify, at least for now. It sure is worth a try.
Xposed installs normally on my ASUS ZenFone 5 (A501CG) without this thing. No bootloops, no problems, nothing. Everything just works fine.

quite interesting post, totally run into this thread by accident.
having lenovo TabS-50F, which comes with Intel processor. Checking some users who has the same tablet, many did report that normal xposed worked fine, but some got issue with random reboot...i wonder if this is related to using normal xposed installer..

I think it depends more on the modules. If you use normal install xposed you will soft brick your zenphone ( not 100% sure but pretty sure).

WIth the Stock ROM you won't be able to use all the functionalities provided by GravityBox however universal modules will work. If you want to use Xposed to it's fullest I suggest that you flash this AOSP ROM.
HI
Is Greenify thoroughly tested with latest Lollipop ROMs? Namely CM12 5.0.2.
I use more Xposed app to improve phone performance including Greenify but instead the phone becomes slowish to laggy. This list ranks Greenify as incompatible:
http://android.wonderhowto.com/inspiration/complete-list-lollipop-compatible-xposed-modules-0160380/
These modules I have currently active:
- 3C Toolbox
- Greenify
- Amplify (formerly Unbounce)
- Lollipop Memory Leak Fix
- Lucky Patcher Xposed settings
- BubbleUPNP
- Xposed Additions
- Gesture Control
+ Xposed Framework 3.0 Alpha 2
Never try on CM12 5.0.2 but I try on CM12.1 5.1 and get bootloop.
Greenify should work on Android 5.0.x. I'm aware of the bootloop on Android 5.1.x and going to investigate the issue when I get my hands on a 5.1.x device.

Hello, I have android 5.1 and have the Greenify working in a SG-GT-8730. and I do not have xposed installed, for if it serves them.
After some hard trial and error, I failed to make Greenify compatible with the current super alpha version (20150501) of the unofficial Xposed build. Seems like an issue in the framework itself (which is reported to the developer)
At present, I have to disable the Xposed module of Greenify on Android 5.1 until I can verify it works with the later improved build of Xposed framework, to save your time from a bootloop.
thx for letting us know ? keep us posted ?

Greenify is working with latest Xposed, 5.1 but won't activate. Let us know @oasisfeng
EDIT : Just Tried beta 3 and it works ! thanks @oasisfeng I think you can now reactivate the boost mode in beta 4 for a beta 5
Greenify beta 3 works perfectly with new unofficial Xposed release! Even notifications work! Beta 4 doesn't work though, as already reported.

Hi guys, I'm trying to install xposed but using the latest version doesn't seem to work. It successfully installs in recovery but then, once in Android, it says it's not yet compatible. I've seen lot of you have installed and managed to have it working. Could you please tell me which version you used? And how you installed it. Thanks

systemless version is not under official development by rovo89
basically, another dev (topjohnwu) is developing it from official sources
maybe in the future rovo89 will provide some tests builds, but that is simply up to him
so short answer, it might be compatible, but no promises
however, current unofficial version is compatible (if you test), but some xposed modules are not fully developed under systemless root

A friend of mine also ran into some issues like yours on the official app but as with your case he tried the material one and worked wonders
Also if you run the material version you are also as close to stock as possible since this is compiled from official sources but only a few visual changes made to the app

Latest Material Installer and Systemless v86.3 and v86.4.
Tried official v86 too
I can confirm that official framework works fine with material design installer. That's the only combination that's working on my G5. Haven't tried systemless version.
For those interested we can now run XPosed on XZ1
Me myself I have FW 47.1.A.12.34
Install the DRMFix according to post 53 in the [oreo]XZ1-drmfix-root-ricoff. This gives me recovery, root and DRMFix.
Then I downloaded and flashed installed XPosed and the installer from the [OFFICIAL] Xposed for Lollipop/Marshmallow/Nougat/Oreo thread
SDK for OREO 8.0 (which is the version in FW 47.1.A.12.34) is SDK26 and the architecture is Arm64.
I Flashed the XPosed zip, booted phone and installed the XposedInstaller apk. The app then told me the framework was installed but not loaded, so I istalled it once more from the app (direct install, not using recovery). After reboot did everything work as a charm
I used to use Xposed but I can't think of any modules that are worth bothering with the install these days. Can you recommend anything worthwhile bro?

I actually only use a package for greenify and a "Eventlock" module to get my calendar data on the lockscreen
Yeah, that's the problem for me. Xposed used to be about to do so much that Android couldn't but the OS has come so far now that I don't feel the need for it anymore.

Yeeea.....bur I just had to check it out when I saw there is a beta version of Xposed for Oreo.
Just because I'm curious
I know, I feel the same way but just didn't see the benefit of it at the time. I used to love Xposed. I actually forgoe certain upgrades because I would lose Xposed in the past. Those days are gone now though.
For all who are intrested:
Gravity Box for Oreo is now released!
I think the best XPosed Modul on the Repository!

This appears to be the last working xposed version for the Note 4 using a 6.0.1 rom and the original version will no longer work with the latest version Magisk. This is that same version in an updated module.
I've only tested this on my SM-N910V running a modified stock rom so there's still some testing to be done but it's working well for me.

I just uninstalled and then reinstalled just to make sure there wasn't something new that was introduced in 18.1. Everything seems to be ok on my end. Try installing through the magisk manager again and press the <save the log> button at the bottom of the screen. Upload the log here and I'll take a look.

Hey! Welcome to the forum. Thank you for posting whether or not it's working for you. I had seen a few downloads but wasn't sure how it was working out.
link down
Possible to kindly reupload the files? Link for downloading not working.
xposed installer app for Magisk link is not working can u upload it plz also i installed xposed-v87.3-unofficial via magisk and used the XposedInstaller_3.1.5-Magisk.apk from [2019.5.1][Magisk] Systemless Xposed v89.3/v90.2-beta3 (SDK 21-27) and in the xposed installer it says xposed not installed and after some searching i found that /system/xposed.prop file had not been copied so i copied it manual and now in the xposed installer it says "xposed framwork version 87.3 is installed but not active. please check the logs" and in the logs it says "Cannot read log/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/log/error.log: open failed: ENOENT (No such file or directory)" what seems to be the problem can anyone help me ?
