when i open snapchat app, and want record a video, after pressing RECORD BUTTON ,every time the screen is darker,during the day too, so it looks like its night , i dont know why..
is any problem with snapchat app, on primary camera app?
If u know how to solve this problem, please tell me

This is an app problem, i downloaded an older version of snapchat (mid-december 2015 something) from apkmirror, and the problem disappeared.

Slow motion problem in old version soft snapchat 9.21.1.0 (snapprefs) normal work.We need media_profiles from old version soft where no work slow motion . This file ( in Etc folder)

Hi folks,
I have a haipad i9300 mtk 6577 4 days ago the camera start to make trouble. Sometime just show black screen and after ask for a force close.
I tried to delete the old camera apk and installa brand new...I give to JB 4.2 camera a try to see if it works...nothing still the same. Black screen and after several touch ask for a force close. I guess is not an hardware problem because sometimes it works...what can I do?
I notice if I press several time and I force close then the camera app cannot connect to camera. This happen 4 or 5 times...then if I am very lucky the camera rebirth and start working again...It seems there is a kind of problem between the app camera and the camera hardware...because every camera app have the same issue, so maybe the problema is after...maybe some libs or something like that...any idea?
Odd update...I have a torchlight app with its widget. I notice the torchlight has the same issues of the camera. In fact it freezes and often I need to force close. The strange thing is if you turn on or turn off after few timers you can heard a kind of "click"...the same click you heard when you activate the camera...after that if you turn on the camera it is working. So I guess the torchlight and the camera are linked in some way. Of course I try to unistall the torchlight app...nothing the camera still not working.
Any ideas?

if something using start using camera (for example torch widget app) then other program cannot access to camera,so if program was not design for that case it will crash. (I know this as When I writing my app i spotted the same problem as You. ).
So i guess something using camera and that cause your problems.Try to find how many programs/services use camera and close all of them and then check/
That's my thought...in fact I'm pretty sure something is bothering the camera app...but...I did an hard reset, so a clean system, but the camera still freeze so I assume is not an application I installed. How can I check which application is accessing the camera?

They're not stable yet. ie. you can expect random reboots for no apparent reason at all. On the other hand I can confirm that almost everything is working on all roms. I am on CM12 and am loving its neat UI.
Yup just as jnx_r said expect random stuff to occur because the roms aren't quite there yet. At least 95% functionality with a side of randomness. The UI is something to behold and is really fluid. While I ran it, I had little lag and no random reboots, except when I forgot to charge the phone and let the battery almost die; that sent the phone into a crazy bootloop. But, don't be afraid to try it out on your own, just make sure you read and understand before flashing. And ALWAYS make a nandroid. You should always have an escape plan to fall back on in case crap hits the fan.
What about stuff like camera, Facebook video upload and Snapchat video recording? I've been on Cm11 for many months and always have issues with the camera, facebook video uploads hanging and snapchat video recording not working.

Cant answer about facebook upload or snapchat because i dont use them sorry, but as for the camera, on archi's cm12 rom the stock one doesnt work without a fix so its recommended to use google camera but even then when i used it after 2 days that stopped working for me.

I got the camera can't connect error too. But restarting the phone fixed the issue. Anyways, the main thing is that is not that frequent ie. completely usable.

Yeah that's true, it's still usable and will get fixed hopefully in the next release
All questions need to go into the Q&A area and not the general area.
I will get a mod to move it for you this time but next time post in the right area or ask a mod to move it for you.

I by chance figure out that "Viber" needs to check the camera few times per day and it's really annoying and also few apps do the same...... all u have to do is install an old version of it, without the video call feature .. if u have it >>>> or checkout the apps may do that .... like Skype , it makes the camera open and close just for one time when u open it(every time u restart ur phone ) .... and for the "Viber" Yes ...it's a problem ... and the old version works fine ... but for "Skype" it's normal I think .....

Hi viewers, i recently got myself the C5 ULTRA E5553 and i'm loving this device especially of course the camera.
The stock camera works fine but once i install SNAPCHAT and start recording a video, the whole snapchat recording hangs and the screen turns black and gets stuck. Once i exit through the home button and clear the app, i open the stock camera app and it shows me "error, camera not available'. and then stock camera app and snapchat camera will not allow me to access the camera as seen on the images attached. Even diagnostics can't access the camera.
I have tried clearing data and force stop on the stock camera app but to no avail. I can only REBOOT the phone and both cameras will work again until i start recording front/back camera on snapchat and everything repeats.
I EVEN TRIED factory reset and i immediately installed snapchat as the first app.... as long as i try to record on snapchat, the camera will just freeze and crash.
I am from Singapore with the 5.0 lollipop. PLS HELP ME i want to be able to use snapchat on this phone

Have you tried updating to Lollipop 5.1? I've only recently started Snapchatting, but I have no issues, and I'm running Lollipop 5.1
If you don't receive OTA update notification then try to update through PC Companion or Sony Bridge for Mac

I tried the link but it didn't work, i have 6.93Gb of free space on my phone. It just came back from the repair store he has been restet but snapchat didn't work If you have any other sonlution, i will be gratefull
But somtimes it work one or two times before not when i restart my phone...
Easy solution
Had the same problem, got really frustrated as I tried every possible solution I know of with no avail what so ever.
Seems like a software problem with Snapchat explicitly, since camera app works just fine away from it. All you got to do is update to the latest version, which is 5.1.
Update might be a little bit big but its totally worth it as you can actually feel the better performance and battery life, and ofcourse fixing your Snapchat problem.
Hi, I encountered this after upgrading to 6.0. Service center replaced the camera but no luck, so they replaced the mainboard. Luckily, it was still under warranty.
Hi to everyone. I've got some issues with snapchat with my galaxy alpha (g850F).
When i try to record a video, the camera freezes but the video is still recording but the camera is frozen and static.
Any solution?

Change modelnumber in build.prop to SM-G850F.
This has been asked a few times already in the thread.
Edit: themestore doesn't work then anymore, so be careful.
I edited ro.product model but still got the video issue on snapchat.
It should look like this.
Still not working...
Set model number to SM-G850F and Clear Data for Snapchat if this doesnt work try uninstalling Snapchat and reinstalling (using data restore in any way makes it not work)
