OUKITEL U7 Pro NVRam & Malware in offical rom help please - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My OUKITEL U7 Pro NVRam formatted after an update. It lost the IMEI and Barcode and Mac address.
I have found tool to recover them. However one thing that I am not sure of is what I should put in the Barcode. If I open the phone and remove the battery, I see a SN number there is that my barcode?
Also my current version is 2.7 and when I check for wireless update, it said my phone is up to date. However I know the latest version is currently 2.8... will the formatted NVRam prevent my update?
I have tool to edit the NVRam, I just need to know what to put in there. Please help me
One more problem for this phone is I have found that the Caller ID app (com.android.tools.callassistant) that is pre-installed in the official rom is downloading and keep asking me to install random apps like DU battery saver, Apus launcher etc... I have to disable it in app setting to make it stop. Does anyone else has this problem too?

Same here with Blackview BV2000S I removed this from SYSTEM.IMG and flashed that new IMG to remove this crap.

Just flash the phone taking serious note of the version of DDR that it comes with and as it appears, you have the DDR2 version. So download the latest version of your ROM on needrom.com and flash with SPMDT which you'll find at the same site and instructions on how to flash. Do let me know if you encounter any problems. Cheers!

I have already tried what you suggested before posting. However the problem is that com.android.tools.callassistant is install in the official rom and problem will not be fixed by re-flashing the rom. Temp cure is to install firewall and disable com.android.tools.callassistant. Long term cure is to root the device then remove com.android.tools.callassistant from the rom.
I am using the temp cure currently and is working for me so far. I will never touch another OUKITEL product ever again. Who will put a adware in an official rom?

[Q] Huawei U8860 Read-only file system

Hello Everyone,
I badly need help on my Huawei Honor U8860 phone. I have recently updated it from 2.3.6 to 4.03 over WIFI and the update went smoothly. So now here is what my phone have:
Kernel Version: 3.0.8-perf-00059-g3a757a2 [email protected] #1
Build Number: U8860IV100R001C00B923SP01
I have not rooted the phone at this time. It was working fine until 2 days ago when I started getting messages on the screen like:
"Unfortunately, 2D Home has stopped"
"Unfortunately, Google Play has stopped"
"Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped"
"Unfortunately, Settings has stopped"
"Unfortunately, Google Play Music has stopped"
"Unfortunately, Browser has stopped"
And so on, and so forth. It seems that all apps and processes have stopped when I try to use them so I literally can't use the phone. I went through several threads here just trying to restore my phone back to a
working state. I tried to do the following in order but without success:
1.) Factory data reset / erase everything - the phone boots to the recovery menu then it formats the /Data, /Cache and /HWUserData then it reboots. After reboot, the phone is back to where it was before the factory data reset with everything in it including downloaded apps.
2.) Manually uninstalled all downloaded apps. Removed screen lock (just to see if phone behavior changes). Then rebooted the phone but after reboot, all the apps are still installed and the screen lock is back as well.
3.) I tried to Force Update with the following official ROMs: B886, B919 and B923 but I always get the message "Update failed" during the update process.
4.) I downloaded the file "recovery-u8860-en.img" so I can replace the "recovery.img" file . Rebooted the phone w/ the pink screen and connected it to my PC but there is no USB mass storage device mounted.
5.) Finally, I tried to root the phone. I enabled USB debugging. I installed the ADB drivers then I downloaded the U8860 root tools and rootexplorer.apk. When I ran the "root-me.cmd", it tried to copy some files to the phone but it failed. The error was "read-only file system".
So it seems that the problem is because of the "read-only filesystem". I does not permit/allow any changes made to the phone. Can you help me restore my phone?
Please.. Can somebody help me on this?
Thanks, clint2rose

I still did not find any solution for my problem. I read from this thread that all ICS versions can be downgraded.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552038&page=232
Is there a way to downgrade from B923 to B919? I think this will solve the problem I'm facing.

try to back-up some of the data form the partitions that are full on your phone and delete them, maybe afterwards the stock-rom-flashing procedure will work again.

thanks for the reply. it did not work. I even formatted the internal SD. Re-run the firmware update but it failed. when i boot the phone, all the contents of the internal SD remains intact. any other suggestion?

I downloaded the files from both links. Can you tell me how to flash my current ROM? Because when I tried to use the file like a regular ROM (I created dload folder then put UPDATE.APP in the folder, then ran firmware update.. the update failed)..

what do you mean by flashing your current ROM? Just like any other stock ROM put the dload folder on the sd-card and start the update procedure either from the settings menu or via the boot-key-combination.
Yes the way you discribed is the correct one for flashing those patches, If those patches also don't work, I'm out of ideas, sorry.

Thank you once more for your time. Most of the thread I read regarding these patches often used the phrase" you have to flash the current version of your ROM using the patch"...
And yes I created dload folder, place the UPDATE.APP and put it on the sdcard. I turned off the phone and removed the battery. Then I pressed vol+ vol- and power on/off button. The firmware update went to about 70% installing before displaying update failed.
I guess I will have to bring my phone to a repair center. My only problem is that there is no Huawei service center at my place (I reside here in Saudi Arabia). I got the phone as a free device on a broadband package and the warranty is already expired. I'm a little worried to take the phone to the small mobile repair shops as they might screw up the phone even more. Huawei is not a popular device here unlike iPhone, HTC and Samsung Galaxy.
As I understood that your device is rooted, you should get some custom ROM and try to install it.

you don't need to be rooted, you only need to have a custom recovery deployed (which you can either do with root permissions, or by using the pink screen method, but some newer stock roms (you said your on 932 or something? last non-locked working is b919) this has been locked and the device will not boot if the kernel or the recovery image has been manipulated.
I think you will have to find some (huawei-certified!) repair-center, small do-it-all phone-shops probably won't be able to take care of this problem for you.. I'm sorry but I don't see any other solution

Ok. I will try to find a repair-center experienced in Huawei devices. I have one last question if you don't mind. Is it possible to erase everything on the phone? As in completely erase or reformat after which there will not be an operating system on the phone. I read in some threads that this is possible w/ custom recovery but I want to know if it is also possible for phones without the custom recovery. I'm hoping there might be some tool or something..
U8860 not responding

Have you find the solution yet? I have the same problem. Somehow my phone system is "locked". I can't install or uninstall app. Some google apps keep showing not responding. Everything changes i made, keep showing up after the phone rebooted.
This was happen a few days after I upgrade to ICS B932SP01 and rooted my phone (to remove original chinese apps).
Luckily i have friend in huawei indonesia. He gave my u8860 to the technical support. But the result was no good.
They try everything, even install my phone with the original GB and always failed.
The last suggestion is change the phone machine, which is as same as buy a new phone.
I really appreciate is someone can help me here...
Thanks

Lenovo P780 Phone signal problems (wifi/3G ok). Help suggestions?

Hi All,
The title says it all.
Tests I've done until now:
- the SIM card has been tested in 2 other phones and it's working fine. Hence, it's also not a network provider issue.
- I tried reboot, soft reset of course
- Someone suggested to remove the back cover because it seems to hinder the signal reception. Still not working for me.
What else can I do?

Hi. By my opinion look what you have to do:
1. I see your phone is rooted.
2. Install a custom recovery like TWRP
3. Go to my post called How about some modems, there you will find modem software for your phone
4. Download on your phone that software, JellyBean software and flash one by one till you find the software what is good for you.
5. Be warned: do a full backup of your phone first.
6. Good luck.
Sent from my Lenovo P780
Hi stympy,
I never succeeded to install TWRP and have it work. Would you have a link to a fool proof tutorial on how to TWRP? I'll then try to sort out the modem issue.
Hi stympy,
On the TWRP website, my device is not listed. Which device should I select to have the correct version of TWRP to use?
I remember now why I couldn't get it to work. I have two phones and none of them are listed as supported devices by TWRP.

Ok. I see that you have JellyBean(Android 4.2.1).Here it is:
1. Install from magazin play - Mobileuncle Tool.
2. Download recovery P780_recovery_TWRP_2.6.3.0_corrected.zip not other.
3. Unzip recovery.bin and copy in the root of your internal memory.
4. after copy open Mobileuncle Tool and give root privileges.
5. Go to Recovery Update tab
6. first recovery that appears there is the one. Select and install... blah blah blah... ok, i accept etc etc
7. Reboot to recovery.
8. That is it... i hope..
9. Good Luck
Thank you very much stympy. I'll have a try and let you know.

I just can't seem to install a ROM no matter what. (Or google services) HELP PLEASE!

So, I have been using the P780 for some time now and, after I started having some problems with it and having to reboot too often, I decided to root it to uninstall the bloatware and give root access to some programs.
Well, I started looking into it and noticed a thread tutorial just for that. It just happened to be for KitKat and I was still running Jelly Bean.
I decided to first update to KitKat using the Official Lenovo software from their support site.
I know I should have taken a backup before, but I guess I foolishly thought nothing would go wrong with an official updater.
...Nothing did, BUT: It updated to the 4.4.2 based VibeUI2.0 and as it happens it doesn't have google services....
So I tried installing them. I tried seemingly everything, but I just couldn't get them to work.
Eventually I just started looking for another ROM.
I tried installing a couple different ones, but none of them worked.
(Including both of the current working links for the ROW ROMs in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p780/general/stock-rom-lenovo-p780-official-stock-t2656441)
I tried multiple methods:
I used TWRP and tried to use the zip flash - no luck (One error I can't remember right now. error corrupted zip once. once there was no errors, but after booting it was just the same old VibeUI ROM so nothing had happened)
I tried using SP Flash Tool - It didn't find my phone (Yes, I did have my drivers installed)
I tried adb sideloading - didn't work (Can't remember the errors right now, but it did download the ROMs to the phone, they just didn't seem to install)
If anyone can offer any advice either on how to get the Google services working on the VibeUI ROM or how to install another ROM that has the google services, please do.
I might update this with the specific errors at some point, but I've been fighting with this damn phone for about 6 hours now and I'm about to collapse from stress, so I'll give up FOR NOW.
If u are rooted ,just find flashable Google apps(Gapps) for ur system type and flash through recoveries to make Google apps/services work.
Hi,
I have the same issue, actually gave up on the phone, but got play store working on the first Vibe UI, now with the update I am back to square one. Been reading forums for hours now without success. GMS Tool not working, says it won't install. Anyone with advice for a novice like me would help too.

Nubia Z7 (nx506J) working with Google Apps.

I have a nubia z7 with rom version 2.05 (Android 5 and Nubia UI 3), with google apps working without problems. Even youtube.
It took 3 days to figure out how to do it, without rooting the phone.
But some tools are needed...
I upgraded my phone rom (which came with version 2.26, a modified 1.26), put rom 2.02 then 2.03 and at last 2.05, which is the last one in nubia chinese site.
I used nubia rom updater, for the roms version 2.02 and 2.03 you have to decompress to each folder and point nubia updater to that folder.
The last one (version 2.05), i used option update of the phone.
Then uninstalled every chinese app. Downloaded gapps micro for android 5.0.1 and copy to the internal storage.
Then rebooted the phone with TWRP and installed the zip file. With TWRP root the phone, in advanced menu.
After that, i reboot into android system and made login into google play and updated everything.
It's a google phone now.
I think this should work for Nubia Z7 mini and Nubia Z7 Max
I hope this help someone

hi, i'm Senh0r. I had logged with an old account.
now you can uninstall all chinese apps ,that you don't want.
then copy file gapps to internal storage.
Check if you have port ADB selected, by inserting on dial number *#7678# , if not, select it.
Now run the TWRP, which is in chinese, when the menu show up, choose option 3 and wait for the phone reboot into TWRP.
When you enter in TWRP, on bottom of screen you can choose english language.
After that is only to install the zip file. don't check for signature.
Now it's only need to reboot phone.
To enter on TWRP you need always to run the program to reboot your phone.
Anything ask

update to 2.05 no problem
But after installing gapps it crashes in the setup phase

Call me an idiot, but I didn't make a backup of the delivered stock ROM KitKat 2.26.
Please have you guys an image? I am stuck for good.
And cleaned the cache and dalvik partition too? Mine its working with no problems.
Cleaned cache etc.
I could hit me for being so stupid to forget backing the original ROM up.
I can easily go to a stock Chinese ROM but at least a KitKat Google ROM would be nice.
Señor or anyone, can you provide a image of 2.26?
Unfortunately I didn't backup it either , but soon I will create a zip file with my Rom with Google apps installed.
I will check Nubia site for older roms too.
Getting the hands on an 1.26 is relatively easy, but the googlefied 2.26 seems to be rather hard to find ...

Hi, I have read that senor twrp does not work on 4.4.2, are you confirming it does. My biggest question I need answered before I do anything is, if I install twrp how do I go back to stock recovery so I can do Ota updates to get to lollipop. Thanks.
Sorry but I can't confirm weather it fully works or not. I followed señor's guide and updated the phone. But if I recall the thread correctly from nubia cn forums the stock ROM should be a slightly modified twrp anyways.
Try just going into the recovery mode.
You should be able to backup the ROM.
Thanks for the invested time.

Extreme lag in pubg after 10.2.3 update

Hi guys.
I got the MIUI 10.2.3. update and everything was fine, until I tried playing pubg mobile.
Experienced a heavy lag, extreme lag.
I play with low settings and have never ever experienced frame drops like this in my phone.
There was no pubg update also so I can definitively say it's an MIUI issue.
Whatever I do, the phone is not responding in a positive way (uninstalled and reinstalled the game, etc.)
Now the latest software does not allow me to revert back to the previous version (10.2.2.) also.
Please suggest a fix, I'm desperate.
If you can not revert back, try a custom rom.
I figured I'd do that, but the mi unlock tool is giving me a serious headache.
Tried different versions and each has one unique problem.
Basically the unlock tool is not detecting my phone, even in fastboot mode.
All the drivers are installed though
Edit: I was able to get into fastboot and the unlock tool detected it.
The trick is apparently to place the mi unlock tool folder in the C: drive.
Looking for a way out other than flashing a new rom right now.
That will be my last option in case nothing else works out / a new update doesn't come soon enough.

Are you on a Ryzen PC ? Xiaomi drivers are known to have problems on Ryzen builds.
I made it work, used mi unlock version 2.3.803.10 and placed the folder in the C drive.
Using a lenovo laptop with windows 10.
The drivers were already installed so no problems on that end. The phone was detected and the unlock option came up in a couple of minutes.
Although I am apprehensive now about flashing a new rom, considering I need to backup my files and reinstall my apps after I switch to a new rom (got no time for that lol).
So on another note, I came across this link in a forum (which I am not allowed to post here because I'm not 10 posts old yet). Basically that it takes time for your phone to adjust to the update and for the battery consumption to become normal etc. Probably I should wait a few days and use my phone like I normally do and then observe the heating/frame drops/battery consumption.
you can revert to 10.2.2, thank GOD i didnot updated yet... flash the fastboot rom, if it still failing it, remove restrictions from those scripts, thats just 1 line to remove though, and then flash full fastboot rom... flash 10.2.2 if its fastboot rom available, otherwise flash a previous one then install 10.2.2 zip...

How do I remove restrictions from scripts? Remember my phone's bootloader is still locked. I haven't unlocked it.
You can try to factory reset though. I have mine on 10.2.3 and got no issues at all. Works like a charm.
Bro.. root your phone. Then flash MALAKAS KERNEL or any other OC kernel. Then flash magisk modules included in MALAKAS KERNEL. Damn smooth.. yeah.
Install beta ROM it is working quite fine and back up all your app and data before doing so and copy the backup and obb folder to your pc so that you can restore all your apps with their data later on without any hassle

Can you provide logs on your device? While playing pubg, log it. Please send it here
You can revert back to 10.2.2 without rooting your phone. Just download 10.2.2 software package zip file. Go to settings> about phone> software update> chose update package >select that zip file. Remember to format your phone. I had to do the same thing. Thats the only solution for pubg to work fine.
highly temp on your poco!.
You should be that phone was under 44° celcius. If your phone running in 44°, 45° or above, your phone will be droped FPS for playing PUBG mobile (extreem-smoot). Take that phone to fan or AC or something that reducing temp.( Running in MIUI 10.3 - Active save iphone XS max - customuser.ini iphone xs max)
I almost play in pubg mobile if my phone under 43° celcius only.
Sory, my english was bad.
