Are there any Custom Roms in development for this Phone? So far all I have seen is No Name Rom and it seems the developer abandoned development cause his last release Nightshade theme had issues that never got resolved.
Are there any Mods that change the Navigation Bar look being thats the main reason I got a Custom Rom in the first place. The Navigation Bar Buttons (Home, Recent, Return) I was not a fan of.
If so I could just revert to Stock Rom and change those and be set.

Just for kicks (and because the half phone/half tablet ui really bugs me, takes up too much space with bars on both the top and bottom of the screen), I went ahead and built a 'stock' JB 4.2 AOSP rom for the N10 with the tablet UI enabled (thanks to the N7 thread on XDA for the modification details!). (Check out the attached image!)
It seems to work well, and it's a very simple mod (though I've hardcoded it to test it out) Would be nice if some of the future custom roms could come with an option to choose the UI at some point!
Here's the link to modifying the source to enable the tablet UI for any of the dev's out there interested:

Awesome.
Awesome. I can't wait to get mine (ordered yesterday).
Can the navigation buttons be flipped?
Does editing the LCD density in /system/build.prop not work for 4.2?
Can't you go back to full tablet UI with the app drawer button at the top? The empty hot keys navigation area looks strange. Also, you mentioned custom roms making it an option...doesn't Paranoid Android already do that?

Didn't try. I'm not a fan of that since it breaks other apps, this doesn't chance the density, so at least everything that would run stock should still run.

The launcher doesn't appear to have the app drawer by default (at the top of the screen), but if I install something like NOVA launcher, you get what you're looking for.
Paranoid does apparently have options to choose the ui mode, but I haven't seen that ROM for the n10 yet. Got a link to it???

I thought I heard that Tablet UI (via DPI change) wasn't possible as of 4.2

Yeah, simple changes to the order of buttons in the navigation_bar.xml file would change the order of those buttons.
As I mentioned, I'm just messing around with the AOSP code, and hope a 'real' rom will come out with the option to switch to tablet mode!

I don't think it's out for the N10 yet. Coming soon from what I read. I was just point out that the ability does exist in roms, it just needs to make it to the N10.
One week with ZU and loving it. The stock Rom is fine for me but I want to use gravity box for my favorite tweaks. Mostly it works fine but does anyone know how to fix the following?
1. Quick settings seems immune to any tweaks at all. I really want the smart pull down.
2. Battery mods don't survive a reboot... the stock battery icon returns, but just the outline.
Many thanks.

Looks good, I will try it. Should I remove Gravity Box? I suspect so.
Actually, it doesn't do what I wanted - no smart pulldown or status bar tweaks. Never mind.

Some of it works well, the power off menu and lock screen stuff for example. I thought the whole point of gravity box is to bring features from CM etc into stock roms.

yeah I noticed but its limited.. no no the purpose is to bring features to roms where you can not find the provided features in the Gravitybox module to turn on or off in the settings app in the rom without typing the strings in a terminal or setup manual scripts to set on boot. Who would wanna do that everytime..
Its an app module that provides a simple user friendly UI to change strings on or off and even modify the values. For example, change the height of the navigation bar. Or remap the short push and long push action of the soft keys in the navigation bar in a few simple steps.

Oh I see, so features that were added by Rom devs simply don't have the underlying code to be addressed. Makes perfect sense, though it's a shame the stock battery outline keeps reappearing, it goes away when I toggle in GB but returns on reboot.
I can see me investigating custom roms sooner than I thought.
Hi,
Hopefully i'm posting this in the right place...
Does anyone know of a replacement for the Xposed modules that provide you with the Android L software buttons and change the colour of the status bar to match the app's theme colour. I like ART too much to change back.
Thanks

What phone/ROM are you using? Many custom ROMs have status bar theming options and are using the Android L software buttons.

Well, I know LiquidSmooth has the L buttons as well as Slim Recents, but it doesn't have the color changing status bar. I'm afraid I can't be much more help than that; the problem is I've tried about 20 or so different ROMs on my Nexus 4 in the past couple weeks and I can't remember what features each ROM has. But there's gotta be one that has these 2 features (if you're willing to change ROMs, that is).

Okay. I was hoping to keep the same setup due to the performance and battery life I've been getting.
Thanks anyway.
Hey,
I'm new to XDA as user but have been lurking around for a while now.
Anyhow, I'm wondering if there is any way to get a notification pull down button on my navbar (on screen buttons). I'm not talking about a gesture shortcut or anything, just a 4th button.
I've tried the newest resurrect remix ROM which just received an update which included a notification button only the ROM isn't a daily driver. There are just to many bugs.
I'm open for suggestions and hope it's done with a simple xposed module but I've searched long enough to doubt it.
There are screens as attachments from the resurrect ROM to give a preview.
Try cm12.1

Are you sure?
I'm currently on CM13 and I have flashed build 12.0s from this thread (MasterAwesome's) http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-oneplus-x-t3254072
And I believe I've tried the button settings on both and both only had the search, power and menu option.
I could be wrong though, just asking for a confirmation
my bad!! iws wrong

I was changing so many roms now days, so i checked up cm12.1 11s again and saw that there was no notification button .
I been using different roms and i might have incountered this feature in some other rom other that RR.
Alright, too bad though.
Hopefully anyone else has a good rom / module / app / whatever for me to get this feature.
Anyone?
Not what you want but try nova launcher as it has a couple of options that you can play around with for quick notifications
Hi there,
I'm new to XDA so I apologize if I am posting this on the incorrect forum.
I have Oppo F1 Plus (in some region it is know as R9) rooted and running on Color OS V3.0.0i Android 5.1 lollipop.
Using the code qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 (which pre-existed in the buildprop) I enabled myself the onscreen buttons.
Using root browser I turned off my recent and back hardware buttons and 'keyboard backlight controller' app to turnoff the backlight.
However, the onscreen buttons' opacity is way too low. I would assume around 15-20%. I tried using various apps like 'navbar app' and 'softkeyz' but both failed me.
Is there anyway to increase the opacity of the onscreen buttons to max using buildprop or root browser or any other method?
Thank you.
Im sorry to say but there isnt.
By default the On screen button should completely be opaque completely.
Try Downloading any theme for theme engine if possible.

Oppo has a pretty close OS and there is little to none development for this device.
I really want to change the notification panel and onscreen button color. but none of the apps are working.
I think the root cause for your problem is the Color OS
Due to high modding , The Framework has been completely modified and because of the fact you dont need a on screen button , they must have left it as it is.
So to fix this , you have two options:
i)Mod Stock rom by yourself
This is a difficult to do process because you have to deodex your stock rom and then you have to decompile and recompile your framework-res.apk
ii)Try Cyanogen 12.1
Cyanogen is an Open Source Android OS which is the most used Custom Rom.
Cyanogen is Completely debloated and provides you high customization

Thanks for replying,
you are right about the framework, since my onscreen buttons do not recognize landscape mode and keyboard.
I know about custom roms, however with this build of cm12.1, I would to lose my sim calling capabilities. I guess next time I will buy a phone after researching on its support in XDA.
Thanks!

You're welcome
I suggest you to buy phones with Purely Stock Android with No or less modding.
Mostly they have the highest support from Devs
And yeah , Avoid Mediatek as much as you can.
They dont provide source codes and it is because of that there is no Dev for Mediatek.
Cheers
