Hello,
I have just replaced the LCD + digitizer of my xperia Z2 because the touchscreen was not responding correctly, and it touched itself on random places. which maked me unable to work with it.
After i replaced the parts i turned the device on, i thought everything was working again, but again the same problem.
I'm not really sure what the problem can be, as a just replaced the touchscreen and LCD.
I've also performed a hard factory reset, but that didn't work either.
Here is a video of the issues:

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problems than you, I have changed the screen, hard reset and I'm about to do a downgrade, did you tried this?
I think this is ghost touch problem .. I had a similar problem and there was a part of the screen not working i have installed several roms until the proplem just disappeared
Try to install cm rom
This problem appeared to me on the first xperia z, on z1 and z2 I only had/have sudden breaks when the display "stops sensing the finger" (so eg. While scrolling it clicks on a link).
However I had this ghost touches problem once on my z2, but this was a virus in my phone.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Luckily not from an iPhone = Yesterdays technology at tomorrows prices

Hello, I was having my Mobile phone in my pocket (SK17i). I took it out and suddenly it touch screen stopped working.
I was having MIUI 3 on my mobile with Extended Xperia Kernel.
I just want to know, what has occured, I mean if it is Software problem, or a hardware problem as there is no damage to mobile screen, not a scratch. The touch button, i.e. back button and menu button work properly, just the touchscreen is not responding.
I have tried to change the ROM to original one. Changed the Kernel too. Still no response.
Kindly help me. Please
Sorry mate, but all indicates hardware malfunction.
I got a similar problem with a different phone wen it spilled some cafe on it (very little).
I opened, cleaned and everything worked except touchscreen.
Could it be some humidity on the phone?
(hope you didn't pissed your pants )
Anyway, for this phone you can order a new LCD + Touch from the ebay and assemble yourself with a tutorial on FixIt (google it).
If it still has warranty just send it back
Hey Guys,
I am having a big problem with my device. The touch is not working. I have been flashing various roms on my phone and after playing with many roms, i finally flashed stock rom into my phone and flashed a stock ics based rom. Everything was working fine until one day my touch was not working well. I switched off the phone and turned it on and the touch was right back on. Again, things were smooth until this issue happened quite frequently. The problem was solved after turning off the phone and powering it off. After some time, the problem again started to come. At this point, the touch was not working COMPLETELY.
I was scared and immedaitly flashed the stock rom. During the initial boot, everything was working fine. But, when i locked the screen and tried to use the phone after some time, the same problem occured again.
So friends, my question is, Is this a software related problem or a hardware related problem. If this is a h/w related problem, is there any point in touch working during some time and not working later? ( Now, touch stopeed working completely). Will any tutorial on this forum about bricked touchscreen (after flashing wrong rom, which i am sure i didn't) will help me solve this problem?
I am awaiting for your valued input as this is the phone that i use for all my communication needs.
Kindly help me
Thanks
Well, if stock didn't solve it, there's a chance it's a hw issue. If you look closely, "touchscreen brick" guides are meant for the mini and the lww (touch digitizer separated from display), not the mini pro (touch digitizer and display as one assembly).
And yes, there are situations where your touch digitizer might cease to function for a few seconds then respond after a while, and sometimes it stops working completely after the next reboot (or forever). It happened to me with a deffective replacement part.

Thanks for your reply.......
I guess it is indeed an hardware issue. My phone used to reboot when i slide my keyboard out fast. The screen gets dimmed out and the phone immediatly restarts. Last few days before the problem worsened it was overheating also.
Can you suggest me which hardware part i should change to rectify the touch issue? Awaiting for your reply
Thanks a lot
Ok your problem seems to be worse than expected. A faulty touchscreen shouldn't cause sudden reboots. I'd say it's a flex ribbon issue.
Try to get a replacement flex ribbon and test it extensively before installing it on your phone. Replacing the flex might be enough to solve all of your problems. If any of the problems persist with a new flex, you'll need a new screen assembly (quite expensive at 35~50 bucks).
Dear all,
I have the following problem; I own a Sony Xperia Z1 and a week ago my touchscreen started doing strange. It seems like the touchscreen keeps touching itself (also known as Ghosttouches). I activated the developer mode on my device and found that all these ghosttouches occur on only one line of constant x (x=539). This problems makes it nearly impossible to do anything productive on my Xperia phone.
Instead of replacing the touchscreen, I was wondering if there is a possibility of just disabling any touches that occur on said line of constant x.
Hopefully some of you geniuses are able to help me

I just got my Xperia Z4 Tablet. I realized that the screen is not as responsive as the Z2 Tablet or even Tablet Z. And the thing that really bug me is that it is not always so >>> it is kind of "random" = end up may be 1 in 4~5 times I have to go back to repress - sometime even repress twice!
Do any one have the same problem?
I experience the same problem with myz4 Tablet. I don't have the comparison to a Z2 or Z-Tablet. But from time to time touching the tablet is not recognized. This is not limited to edges of he screen but also happened to me for buttons in the middle of the screen.

That's right! You know exactly what I am experiencing! Initially I thought is may have to do with the launcher - I am using Apex >>> so I try to revert back to sony's original one. But the problem is the same. Then I reboot the tablet and it seems to solve the problem for now. At least it seems to be a software issue not hardware - what a relief...
Let me know if you try any other method.
I have an Xperia Ray Running on LX CM13.1.
One day capacitive touch buttons started showing ghost touch continuously. I then restarted and capacitive buttons stopped working.
I then activated onscreen buttons and some days later they started showing ghost touch continuously. I then restarted device and that part of screen also stopped working.
With in a fews days ghot touch spreaded up and finally bottom half part of touchscreen stopped working.
I tried hard formatting and even I flashed stock firmware but didnt fix the issue.
As I know it is a hardware issue, Will I have to replace my entire display?
Display part is working properly but touch is irresponsive.
Thanks
It seems like the Ray has the display stuck to the glass/digitizer with LOCA adhesive, so yeah, you need to replace the complete assembly, unless you find some service center where... Nah it's not worth the hastle lol.
I replaced my Mini Pro's display a bunch of times. It's sad to see a perfectly working LCD display go just because of a broken glass/digitizer.
