mmb29q images for ROM flashing - Nexus 6P General

Here are the bootloader/radio/vendor images for mmb29q AKA 6.0.1_r13
This is all you want if your running a ROM. If your running stock, you will want to get the images directly from Google. If your not sure, ask your ROM's dev team.

Fsync toggle:
It's disabled by default. Enabled = stock IO speed while having data integrity; disabled = more IO throughput but less data integrity
echo Y > /sys/module/sync/parameters/fsync_enabled (N to disable and Y to enable)
GPU clock interface:
To check the current GPU frequency:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc
To change it:
echo X > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc (change the X with your desired value. Should work up to 750Mhz at least, beyond that is pure madness)

I'm guessing that is a technical term. Maybe someone should add it to the wiki.
On topic: I flashed r1, but am getting a never ending boot animation (not a loop).
Also tried 'fastboot erase cache'. Will report more when I know it.
EDIT: Same thing happens for me each time I try... never ending bootanimation.

Ok. So basically when Google updates the AOSP sources (with multiple commits) they push a new build. These new builds also contain security patches and bug fixes (very minor ones). These updates don't add new features most of the time (if they are based on the same android OS version). I have added a new line in the OP where I write the build number for the latest build. This should help people find the latest build faster.

Question about these images from google (first time nexus user, long time crack-flasher here). If i'm running stock and simply want to update to the new build, can i just extract the system image from that package and just flash it via fastboot or will that break things?

It's the latest and greatest of course! I'm on stock, so I'll just wait for OTA but if you're bootloader unlocked it's best to flash these via adb so your device stays up to date at least with the BL, radio, and vendor.

Forget what the user above said. You have all the rights to post external links on XDA-Developers. If he (The XDA fanatic who cannot tolerate other websites on the internet) feels that your or mine or anyone else's work is a piece of junk, then he should just write it by himself.

We move 15 terabytes of ROMs on a slow month, XDA wants nothing to do with that bandwidth
But I do see the wisdom in a collection type post....
Maybe after work I can a make something a bit more unified.

This is meant for custom ROM users - we no longer need to download the *full* factory image even if we're just updating our /vendor monthly.
I personally am grateful for such a collection, not only because of the data flow it saved me, but also because of its convenience (Google is not accessible by normal means in China).

Nope. ROMs and the partitions supplied here needs to be updated hand in hand. It's the ROM itself (the kernel) that contains the patches.

Radio and Bootloader are backward compatible. However, for some, an older radio version could work better than the most recent one, on the latest update. So you may regard Radio as subjective.
As for vendors, they should be flashed corresponding to their build numbers, so you could say that these are NOT backward compatible
I hope I got your question right. :good:

I couldn't find his threads on xda though
This isn't my build, however I do have a CM14.1 build which works with my Nexus 9, no visible bugs. This is built unmodified from CM source, apart from removing forceencrypt. I would post on the Dev section, but my post count is too low. If there's enough interest, I'll upload it and do twice weekly builds?
Edit:
So if anyone wants a test drive, try https://harryyoud.co.uk/cyanogenmod/ which has a build from yesterday
BE AWARE: forceencrypt is enabled by default here, so if you don't want encryption flash ElementalX or another custom kernel (or maybe FED)
