This is the first time I tried to install a custom rom. Please be gentle.
Device: Huawei Y300 (Bootloader unlocked and rooted)
TWRP Version: 2.5.0.1
Custom rom: cm-11-20140510-NIGHTLY-u8833.zip (found here)
I mindlessly tried to flash cyanogenmod 11 (kitkat) on my Huawei Y300. Here was the last steps I did:
copied rom and gapps zip files on phone root
restarted phone in fastboot mode
on ADB, ran
Code:
fastboot flash boot path\to\boot.img
(everything seem to be working fine)
ran
Code:
fastboot reboot
(phone rebooted in TWRP)
Tried to install cm-11-20140510-NIGHTLY-u8833.zip rom file (installation failed)
From what I read, the version of my twrp is not compatible with kitkat? Now i believe I bricked my phone because I forgot to create a backup of the stock rom.
Questions:
Is the stock rom still somehow there, hiding in my phone memory?
Is it possible to "undo"
Code:
fastboot flash boot path\to\boot.img
so that the "original" boot.img is used by my phone when I try to reboot it?
I am currently downloading Android SDK with a plan to upgrade my twrp for kitkat compatibility. I hope this will let me install cyanogenmod kitkat on my huawei. But I am not sure if I will succeed. If I still fail, can you guys tell me what other options I have to save my phone?
Thanks
Edit: problem solved.
I learned how to properly flash/upgrade twrp via fastboot.. Retried installing rom with twrp 2.7 and it was successful.
Hi there !
Today, after downloading an OTA update, my phone told me "Installation Failed", and now, it is stuck in recovery mode after booting.
I've been rooted (using kingroot im a nub ikr) but unroot as soon as possible cause i only needed to change the MAC adress of my phone to be able to use it in a hotel. Then, as i said, unroot, change back to my original MAC adress, install OTA and boom, stuck into recovery mode without any possibility to boot, normal or fastboot. I tried to wipe data and cache but it doesn't work. I've been looking to this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/oneplus-x-stuck-recovery-failed-ota-t3262390 ) but, unfortunately, i don't have any SD card, so my questions are, will the thread method work if i buy a new SD card ?
And will i have to download and flash the full rom or only the OTA ?
PS: No custom ROM, no custom recovery. || Sorry for english, french student and not really pro.
Never OTA with root installed/adjustments made. You could manually download the OTA zip and flash it.
hi
1st are u on stock recovery or twrp
download the full rom place it on the root of ur sd or internal storage NOT in any folder
do a full wipe and flash the rom u should be ok good luck
I fixed my issue, i was on stock recovery wich means you can't access the storage, here is what i've done -->
Install ADB+Fastboot
Connect Phone to PC in fastboot mode
Flash twrp after unlocking bootloader
Now phone recognized, i've downloaded stock onyx ROM from one plus
Then i've flashed the ROM from twrp and my phone finally boot...
Full tutorial for those experiencing that issue

my rather pleasant experience, so i purchased a huawei mate 10 pro US version BLA A09 C567 and BL unlocked and rooted with fhmatetool, all was well and i decided to install magisk so i unrooted within supersu app and removed su and i installed twrp and side loaded magisk but it said system already modified and recommended flash boot image again but its no where to be found, so i used hi suite and allowed hbd instead of USB debugging and it found my device and immediately showed i have an update available which is what i was looking for and it installed it and on reboot i guess it tried to take me to e recovery to f reset but twrp was there instead of e recovery and i did a f reset from there and rebooted system and it still showed my device cant be trusted as it is bl unlocked and it tried to boot but could not and stuck in boot loop and i thought i was a gonner and needed funkyhuawei services but after few reboots it erased twrp and installed e recovery itself and i was able to f reset and reset cache as well and all is well now, my questions remain though, even after this update why does the bl unlock still exist as it should be re locked with update but it did not. and after setting up as new phone i still have the old firmware version and its not updated and when i connected to hi suite again it said same update available and installed it again and the same thing again and on reboot after update twrp showed up again and i did not f reset this time and did not allow any system modifications and rebooted system and it did not boot loop and booted completely this time but firmware is still the old one and i dont why it is not updating. so i thought maybe bl unlock was te probelm and relocked bl and now it kept booting back to emui recovery and would not boot system and my phone not supported erecovery in hisuite and bl unlocked again and then it booted back to twrp and then to system from there, does anyone know whats going on here and how can i flash the update thorugh COMMAND?
So my phone doesn't boot to Android anymore.
(Huawei Y560-L01)
A while back I tried flashing a custom ROM but it failed and I couldn't get past recovery mode anymore.
Today I tried to get back to Android but no succes.
What I tried:
- Flashing a ROM (Stock/Recovery) using adb/fastboot.
- Downloading a "update.app" file of the stock firmware and flash it from the recovery (with an sd-card).
- Hard reset / wipe everything and reboot.
adb isn't able to detect my device because USB-Debugging is disabled and there is no way (as far as I know) to get it back into debugging/OEM-unlock mode. (Can't boot past recovery mode and bootloader is locked)
The update.app file I found doesn't work.
I'd love to get my old phone to work again. Any solutions to my problem?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Is Android still installed or is the OS wiped, I'm not sure?
