Hi. Important apps like antivirus, vpn compression, etc. do not remain in the notification panel on the right esp. after reboot. Whenever Remix OS boots up, I have to relaunch apps to make them appear in the notification panel on the right. Furthermore, I do not press the [x] symbol at the top right ,when leaving these apps. I press the triangular symbol [<] at the top left ,when leaving these apps. Am I doing something wrong or is this still a feature to be added to Remix OS? Can someone please help me with this?

Stagefright mostly affects text messaging and the issue was fixed with the 5.1.1 that RemixOS is based on.

It is right in front of you. You look at it every day. It may even look at you everyday --your web cam. Most people don't realize that the purpose of a viruses or of malware is to compromise every and any aspect of your system. Safety and security is very important! Antivirus and/or antimalware apps are very important! They are essential!

Introduction:
Android shows you a help message when you first start an app in Immersive Mode. When you press the 'OK' button, Android sets a flag to remember you saw this message, and stops showing it in the future for this app.
However, Android resets this flag when a panicking user is detected. This is a safeguard measure to help people who don't know what's happening (if they dismissed the message without reading it.) Panicking is detected when the user turns the screen on and off more than once within 5 seconds.
This stackoverflow answer explains this behavior in details.
This simple module makes the method responsible for this check do nothing, thus removing this annoyance.
If you've never encountered this issue, you don't need this module.
Requirements:
Xposed Framework;
Android KitKat or higher;
A navigation bar (no hardware buttons.)
Source code:

Download:

Changelog:
1.1.2:
Compatibility with Lollipop. Won't install/work on earlier versions.
1.1:
New preference: Hide All Popups. If enabled, all the "Welcome to Immersive Mode" popups will be hidden, not only repeated popups.
1.0:
Initial release.

Good for you, I guess. I wasn't so lucky, so I'm going to need a logcat to actually check if it's caused by this module and look into it if that's the case.

Have you tried tapping the 'Install' button? If that isn't enough, then I'm going to need more info. Why can't you install it? Any errors? What Android version are you running? Have you read the thread's title, which is the first thing you ought to read, or the OP, which is the second?
Works great on my LG Optimus G (e970). Thanks! I thought it was a bug in the 4.4.2 ROM I am using.

I love you, dude! This annoys me SO much.. Glad there's now a fix for it!
i also thought this was a bug with my rom :silly: -until it happened on a different rom.
i run this other module "force immersive mode" which forces fullscreen on chosen apps, but was highly annoyed by this panic thing.
"it is not a bug, it is a feature"
op, you saved us from being annoyed countless times for no reason at all. :good:

Alright, it's pretty easy to add anyway so I don't see a reason why not.
Try the attached APK. Open the module's preferences, enable "Hide All Popups" and reboot. Let me know if it works.

The latest CM nightlies remove the panic mode. http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/64101/ You can still use this mod to remove all immersive mode warnings, but if you don't need that you can uninstall it.
The change has also been proposed to AOSP. https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/95160/
Can you add an option to hide the app from the launcher please?
TabletKat is an Xposed module that brings Android Tablet UI to Android 4.4.
Tablet UI was first introduced in Android 3.0. In 4.2 it was phased out in favor of phablet UI, which is basically phone UI stretched for large tablet screen. However, tablet UI was not removed, making it possible to restore it fairly easily.
However, in 4.4 it has been almost completely removed from code, making that impossible. So, TabletKat restores it!
This will most probably not work on custom ROMs. I will still try to provide support where possible.
Known not to work on TouchWiz and Lenovo VibeUI!
Features:
Tablet UI ported from Jelly Bean
Recents pinned to the left side
Overlay Recents: floating panel above the current app (4.1 behavior)
Tablet layout for Launcher2
Dual-pane settings
There is a high probability that it won't work on any ROM that is different from clean AOSP. If it doesn't work, I'd like to know that so I can fix it.
Xposed repo link:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/org.exalm.tabletkat
Source code:
Source code is available on GitHub: https://github.com/Exalm/tabletkat
TODO:
Compatibility with at least some custom ROMs
Tablet layout for GNL and stock launcher (Search in the top left corner, app drawer in the top right corner, no dock)
Extended quick settings configuration
I will not implement additional quick settings/buttons from OEM ROMs!
Thanks to:
rovo89 for his awesome Xposed framework;
mito001 for German translation;
klozz for Spanish translation;
kingkaminari for Brazilian Portuguese translation!

Screenshots in post #2
HELLO EVERYONE!!! This rom has taken a kind of backseat for awhile, i do apologize on that! unfortunately at this time i just had a new baby girl enter my life and crazy busy hours at work, so i hope the current release is still working for everyone and im glad to see others still helping each other out!
Also i am SKRANTIX if your wondering when you boot up it says skrantix.. well thats because i named everything that not thinking about my name on here not being the same.. sorry..
This is my first time ever doing any sort of build for any android phone, and i know that there are other roms out there, but i felt pretty proud of myself that i was able to learn how to do this. Of course none of this could have been possible without the help from a few people, @T-Macgnolia, @DevVortex for helping me get the proper setup going and showing me/teaching me how to get things from git. @Prasanna V (Vega TaySailor) for moral support and also @albinoman887 for all the work he and his team have done to get this off the ground. Of course i want to thank cyanogenmod and team for all they do as well. Also this is my first ever post on xda of this magnitude so.. im sorry for the all over the place sloppy nature of it. Later on down the road i would like to incorporate other things into the rom.. but im not at that level yet
PLEASE NOTE, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOUR DEVICE IN CONJUNCTION WITH MY FILES. THIS HAS BEEN TESTED ON MY PERSONAL DEVICE AND DOES WORK
When you flash this rom, the rom will do the normal, show boot animation for a few then continue into the starting apps process. After that is done it will go BACK to the boot animation for just a few seconds before it then fully boots up.. Just so everyone is aware and don't want anyone to think oh, its bootlooping when its indeed not doing so

in my personal opinion, the things i have noticed that are different are.. system overall is much faster and fluid, transitions seem to happen a lot faster, i personally like that it now asked almost anything you do to allow or deny permissions for usage. the battery life is overall much better, the ability to optimize all or one app for better battery life/performance is a plus. I am sure there are things i am missing, but those are a few things i notice in day to usage
I just want to apologize to everyone, i wanted to have a new build out for you all today but i am currently having some building issue hoping to have everything resolved shortly. until that time,the current rom that is on here is still working and available!
Is native hotspot hack built into this rom?

4.0.2 working great for me. But beside the 3 default hosts I had to add http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt from AdAway GitHUB
DNS66 works fine too as a non-root alternative.
Works fine on PIE. For the best setup, I recommend following the instructions here...
Unified Hosts(check the instructions for AdAway) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/magisk-unified-hosts-adblocker-t3559019
Latest version of AdAway - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903987938
I like that unified hosts adblock. Magisk module I know u have to do a little more to get it going but it works better for me. Super easy just 1 command in a material emulator
4.08 has been working for me, even on the September update.

Could be a couple ads that slip through due to it not being blocked in the hosts file. You can blacklist them manually yourself using the website domain name.
Also, check out my comment on the first page. It works the best with AdAway and blocks far more.
