192khz 24 bit Flac - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to all friends of the forum needs your help. I would like to know if there is a way to play audio files FLAC 24 bit a192 kilohertz without resorting to a external dac. our friend Z2 mounts a chip audio codec wcd9320 that according to the manufacturer's specifications is capable of playing these files at this resolution. Besides, other manufacturers such as LG and Samsung fitted with this IC on their devices indicating a correct fit in playing these files. If I using USB audio player pro in local play mode the file with this resolution are played at 24 bit 96 kilohertz. Do you know if there is any way I can play them natively? Thank you all for the help

AFAIK software support in Z2 is not there, even if Snapdragon 801 DAC is capable of this. Funny part - there is no way to play 44.1 Khz audio file on Z2 without resampling, just use good player like Neutron with good re-sampling algorithms. Sony Z2 only supports 48 Khz audio playback nativelly (that was true for Android 5.1.1).

[Q] Can Prime play lossless bluray ISO rips?

I'm curious if the hardware and software are there yet - can the Prime with Tegra 3 and ICS play (perfectly, without any stuttering, ect) Bluray video ripped losslessly to an .ISO file on an external hard drive? Both on screen and output through HDMI with both lossless video and HD audio quality? If not, would this be due to a hardware limitation or software and something that might become possible through future apps Jelly Bean?
I have a collection of lossless .iso videos on a portable 1.5tb drive I'd like to be able watch while on the on my bicycle tour for the next few years. I won't recode them to lossy formats, but want to wait for the technology to get good enough to do it on the move.
There is no way to mount an iso in Android. You can convert those to 1080p 10000mbps Mp4s with 5.1 aac audio to play on the TFP though, that is what I did and the quality is great through HDMI. If you are watching through the TFP you can just create a 1280x720 MP4 with stereo audio to limit file size.
I use Foxreal video converter with cuda off to get the best quality. Chapter grabber program to get the main movie playlist from the bluray and tsmuxer program to read the playlist. Then I add the appropriate m2ts files listed by tsmuxer to Foxreal for conversion...

best audio format for xperia s?

which format are you guys using for music on your xperia s'?
i have all my music backed up in apple lossless or flac, so i can re-convert to any format that's best.
i've currently got most stuff already in ogg at approx 64kbps for my ipod mini.
but sony media go doesn't seem to recognise these files/i can't import them in to the media library.
so i'm thinking of converting things to AAC (M4A) which media go does recognise.
are there any differences in performance/battery life etc between these formats?
and i remember reading somewhere that the built in music app supports gapless playback, is this just for mp3? or also for other formats like ogg and m4a?
im normaly use MP3... but its not a question of belive in this format, ist just because the most files im download (legal) are in mp3 320kb/sec
Ogg 64kbps is horrible .
A song should be at least in mp3 128kbps with decent encoder .
been using ogg at 64 for a while now, it's perfectly listenable on a portable device, and have managed to reduce my music collection down to around 10Gb by using it
was just curious to see if anyone prefers m4a, but seems that maybe most people are still using mp3?
I personally use .wav and .midi
But on a serious note, I use mp3 and some flac ( on another player).
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
320 .MP3s. All the way. Reasonable size, great quality and low overhead for playback. That or V0 compressed.
320 mp3 or FLAC (it's what I tend to get/rip)
I paid for PowerAmp it plays pretty much anything...

 great sound quality @ midi... Dolby digital 5.0 sounds like a SID against
AAC 256 bitrate from MP3 320 bitrate

AAC is much more effective that MP3. Same quality -20%. -5% of quality, -40% of size.

any way to improve audio bitrate/Quality in videos recorded by mobile?

Hi I wanted to know if it is possible to improve to improve audio recorded during a video??
I mean I can record video at 720p 25 fps, but the DAMN audio gets recorded at 12 kbps!!
It's just tinny and annoying sound cuts up all the time.
So it is it possible to increase the bitrate of audio via modifying some system file or changing some parameters in phones hidden settings or something like that?? my phone is a Chinese Zopo PILOT ZP100. Thank you.
btw, When I use Sound / voice recorder, it records in 3gppp at high setting with 127 kbps AAC audio.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.lgCamera&hl=el
some users with the same problem on other phones use this app with AMR_WB encoder selected and they reported a significant audio quality improved during video
Try it, it might work
Thanks mate. this actually CAN record high quality audio but the video even when selected to record at 30 fps , reciords at 10-11 fps, I guess its my Class-4 card...
Perhaps compare the data rate required to store video+audio data compared to audio data only, and also account for the lower transfer speed of a class 4 SD card compared to class 10. There might be other limitations as well - if a product is sold as a mid-range phone the picture quality may be deliberately downgraded compared to what the hardware is capable of. Samsung galaxy ace 832MHz arm CPU with class 10 SD card = 320 x 240 video recording

when I use native app to record video, it records with bitrates of 11,000+ and 25 Fps! Just that audio is ****ty 12 kpbs!
With the lgcamera app as I reduce the video bitrate the fps goes up so I think it is a bandwidth issue only but then the native camera app can handle such high bitrates....!

try to find out what encoding is used for 720p in the stock camera app, and make sure it's the same in lgCamera.
with the wrong encoding settings your phone may fall back to software encoding, which is much less efficient.
my phone for example is capable of 30fps 1088p video recording, but using software encoding(hw en/decoding is broken in the rom i use) it can only reach 30fps on 480p, or 720p if i overclock.

Don't know, I guess the free version is capped at 20 FPS cause no matter what parameters I set frame rate doesn't go past 20 FPS...
The default encoder for phone was H.263 in 3GP container. still it doesn't make any difference. I was thinking about editing the Media_profiles.xml in ETC folder but it's not even there!!

Hello,
I have Zp200 and I have the same issue about audio quality... and Lg cam software does not work properly (sometimes close and lock the phone during record).
Do you have any new about how to change this bitrate?
Thanks, Caio.

The Official Nexus 10 Video Playback Specs

Does anybody have that?
For example Apple has listed for its Ipad4

Where are these specs from samsung or google? When I had my Ipad 4, this helped GREATLY with converting movies to the proper format.

Sort of a moving target.
The Exynos 5250 has native support for: MPEG-4/H.263/H.264 decoding and encoding and decoding only for (MPEG-2/VC-1 and VP8)
Source:
http://www.samsung.com/global/busin...t/application/detail?productId=7668&iaId=2341
BUT
The actual wrapper formats supported nativley and in what players depend on software support. Everything will play on the processor in software mode through a cpu decoder like FFMPEG being used by MX Player or BS Player from the market place (free). But software mode is not the most efficient mode and will drain the battery at a faster rate than native HW playback.
Here is what I know seems to work so far in the native player: MP4/H.264.
If anyone else has had native support with something else sound off. As to a spec sheet that is the best I can show you, but as I said it is not representative.

Are you able to smoothly playback mp4's?
If you are..what frame rate and what avc works for you best?
Step 1: download MXplayer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en
Step 2: make sure your content isn't 10-bit (hint: most likely it isnt)
Step 3: Your content will play. Basically 99% of regular content will work. To be honest, I cant think of anything that hasnt worked for me, and I play high-bitrate anime with advanced substitle scripts (ASS-subs). It works fine.

Yes. Most of the MP4s I have tried are H.264 standard 30fps and up to 1080P. All worked on the native player
For other's experiences with MP4s up to 60fps and 1440p see this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995176
If you are using a player like MX Player and are trying to play an Mp4 Muxed into an MKV then the video will play with hardware and you can select software for the audio (right now. this may improve in the future).
As the other poster said. Almost everything will play with MX Player. It is just a question of whether it is played using HW codecs or SW Codecs. HW codecs use built in decoding capabilities on the chip to vastly reduce the workload on the processor. SW decodes everything on the processor and then pushes it to the screen. The only difference between the two from a user perspective is efficiency and battery usage. (and on super-res files there may sometimes be slowdown in SW mode)
To be honest I have tried everything from mkvs to rms to movs to wmvs on MX Player and ALL have played successfully in the SW player.

How to make Android Codec

So im wanting to know if anyone can point me in the right direction here. I want to develop a codec for android devices that supports all of the following:
Video codec
H263
H264
H265
Vp8
Vp9
Mpeg 4
Audio codecs (including all available audio channels in said formats)
Aac
Ac3
Dts
Dts-hd
True hd
Frame rates
All frame rates up to 60 including 23.976 which is default to all bluray films.
So i know android does support most of the video codecs by default but not the audio codecs. And as for the frame rate i know 30 is supported but not sure about anything else. I see this typically used on more devices such as rokus or nvidia shields and downloaded via the android app store.
Nobody?
