My current wireless charger will charge my phone to 100% and then quit for the rest of the night, leaving my phone at around 95% when I wake up. Is there a better charger to remedy this?
I went back to a Kidigi wired charger to get around that. I rely on the clock feature of the dock, so that was a real turnoff for me.

I've been using the Choe stadium charger I like it so much I got a second for the office.

Bonus is that this dock, which was originally around $60, can be found for about $15 on the third party market now...

+1 for Tylt Vu
Also have the Spigen wireless charger that you have to use with your stock charger. It works great most of the time, but occasionally it'll stop working and needs to be unplugged/replugged back in.
no charger is "wireless". What I meant was, is your charging pad plugged to the stock turbo charger and stock cable?
I am using the EXILIENT CHARGING PLATE
SAME WITH ME BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE IT SAVES YOUR BATTERY FROM OVERCHARGING AND HEATING, moreover if you use quick charger with the charging plate you get full within 3 hours!!! ain't BAD.:good:
Another vote for the tylt vu. It technically stops charging, but my phone is always at 100% when I pick it up. It does turn off the charging light, but I am assuming that is to keep it from cooking a battery.

I've settled on the Vu as well. It stops charging once the battery is full (a few mins after the phone registers 100%). If the battery dips back down to 99% during idle, it kicks back on and tops the battery off back to 100% and turns off again.
The Vu is my fav charging stand because it doesn't have bright, obnoxious charging LED indicators. Just a nice dim green LED that doesn't light up my entire room at night.

The charging rate is controlled by the handset, not by the charger, so it is not possible to "overcharge" your battery.
It is also extremely unlikely that any increase in temperature from charging will cause any deleterious effect to the battery - this will have been taken into account as part of the design of the charging circuit.
The TYLT VU is good, but it's $50.
The Nokia DT-900 is just as good a charger, and on the third party market it's now about $15.
Your choice...but I can think of other things to do with $35 than give it to TYLT.

It is not the wireless charger stops charging. It's the software in the phone that shuts off the charging.

Sorry - I know nothing (and nor do I want to know anything!) about iPhones.
However, as a general rule, charging is normally managed by the handset, not by the charger.

Just FYI I just bought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/190961745241 and it fast charges my G2. It has model number ETA-U90JWE on the unit. Just thought I'd pass that along since I was having so many problems finding the right charger/cord combo that would fast charge.

Thanks! Just bought one as a backup charger
I got two of those a week or so ago myself from eBay (same model charger ETA-U90JWE, different seller, etc.) and can confirm that they QuickCharge. I was a bit worried after reading some reviews on Amazon.com that there are knockoffs of the same model that perform poorly but I guess I got lucky.
Those that have it -- does the USB cable work with the original charger too? and with other 2amp chargers (like my car charger)? I always leave a AC charger in my car just in case, but if it's going to take 5 hours to charge my phone, it becomes pretty pointless unless I'm staying overnight somewhere.
This is okay but remember kids. Slow charging is much better for your battery

Yes, the white cables that came with it do fast charge (tested with both these new Samsung charges and stock LG unit). From 10% to full charge in about 90 minutes.

Charging times with any electronic device are dependent on amperage. Find a charger that is 2amps and you should be set. It will say on the box.

Lies! These aren't ****ty old NiCa batteries. If it doesn't heat bad, which i haven't experienced in fast charge, its perfectly fine. Screw the base brick, I'm just trying to find a single USB 3.0 (needed) supported cable that supports 1800mA. Not one that runs over 800mA and doesn't pop slow charge, but one That fully utilizes all the mA's. Can aubergine post a SS of the mA reading please?

Here is one I ordered from Amazon, it arrived today.
http://www.amazon.com/reVOLT-c2-Dua...=1384487213&sr=8-3&keywords=scosche+revolt+c2
I just tested it: I have a 110v wall plug to cigarette charger socket adapter. Plugged my old cig charger into it, used the white usb cables I described in a previous post in this thread, and got slow charge message. Then I took out that old cig charger and plugged in the new Scosche reVolt c2, used the same cable and got no slow charge message. Watched it for 2 minutes and it went up 2% (so I consider that QuickCharge).
Thanks

Weird. This thing is picky. The usb cable with my 2.0a csr charger charges at around 900mha, but plugged in using the samsung ac adapter it slow charges at 30mha... but once in awhile it goes at 800 to 900
Thanks smacklayer - I bought one just like yours on eBay.
One has to be careful not to get a gray market knock-off, but it's hard to tell exactly. Even on Amazon, there are lots of complaints of chargers that appear to be OEM but aren't.
BTW: how does one tell if their G2 is NOT "fast charging"? Is there some indication?
I have a PowerGen 2A car charger with usb cable that I purchased a year ago for my N7. I plugged my G2 in the other day and I didn't see any visual cues that something was "slow charging" and it appeared to charge just as fast as the LG G2-supplied charger. So, I've been wondering about a "fast" or "slow" charging indicator.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I finally made the change to a QI enabled back cover to get some wireless charging on my LG G3. I bought the Itian A6 on Amazon from the seller Docooler. I like it but I have a huge complaint and I want to know if it is normal. I understood going into it that the charging would be a bit slower but the times I've charged the LG G3 from 5%, it took 4+ hours to charge to 100%. This seems really excessive. Wired charging would usually take me about 2 hours to fully charge from 5%. Do I have a defective charger or is the super long time it takes to charge wireless really how long it's suppose to take? Please give your feedback and opinions, thanks.
Bueller? There has to be some input people can give, even if it's not from the same wireless charger.
I use PMA and not Qi because I have the AT&T model G3, but I've noticed similar results sometimes. Typically I only put it on the wireless charger while sleeping so I don't notice the charging time, but there was once where I charged while awake and noticed it took a bit longer. Make sure its in the best contact position.

Thanks for your response. My wireless charging has been getting worse. The last two nights I've charged over night, it got a good 6-8 hours and it still wasn't fully charged and the phone was pretty hot. I always place the phone smack in the middle of the charger making sure it's centered.
Does it have a magnet to center it? The PMA charger centers the phone so that you have optimal charging and I don't think I've ever noticed heat issues.

No, there is no magnet but the charger is slim enough to know you got it centered. I tried to wireless charge without having the phone on to see if there maybe was an app that was keeping it from charging faster but apparently the phone needs to be on to do wireless charging. It automatically turns on when I put it on the wireless charger. The charging has just got worse on the wireless charger. It charges fine wired. Wonder if it may be the charger or the QI replacement cover...
Maybe try a different charger. If I had Qi I could probably help more. Maybe someone with Qi will chime in.

Absolutely normal...
WIRED you are using a 1.8A charger... when you connect this same charger or a 2A to the QI pad, you get only 800mha to 1A to charge via wireless (because of loss, thats why you get the heat)
ALL QI charging pads are like that, there is no top tier, more expensive QI pad that will charge above 1A, the tech just doesnt work like that
The second generation of wireless chargers are coming and they can go way beyond that and even charge from more then a few inches....

Are you saying the 4+ hour charging time to full is normal or the 6-8 hour charging time? I read from other people that in general they noticed that charge time on the wireless charger was only a bit longer from wired which is why the 4+ hour charging time surprised me. I am thinking of exchanging the charger to see if it makes any difference.
If you check the people using wired charging, you see they take about 2 hours to charge 5% to 100%
and this is using almost 2A
so charging limited to 800mha to 1A it would take double the time (more or less e to 4 hours)
Thats the reason why i still use wire charger. I read a lot about that and many posts mentored same charging time as you did and sounds ok.
You can see that your wire charger have output 1.8A to charge and the most of wireless chargers have real output of 0.8. With this calculation, more then 2 times slower is complete normal.
I never timed my wireless charging until last night. It charged from 1% to full in under 3hrs. This is with the Duracell Powermat and not Qi. That may be the difference. Either way, I've been satisfied with the powermat.

Something internally probably limits all QI chargers to a certain amperage. My Tylt Vu takes about the same amount of time to go from 0 to 100. The technology is still in its infancy stage. I'd recommend using it as an overnight charger.

True you only pay more for extra coils the name brand and possible quality build.
Nexus 4 orb
The nexus 4 orb charger works great with the Nexus 6. Charges to 100%, stops, then starts up again at around 96%. However, this stop/start charging cycle does not make any noise.
I did notice early on that my Nexus 6 would hit 100% charge, then completely stop. This was on a custom kernel (Franco), but once I replaced that with a different kernel (leanKernel), wireless charging started behaving properly again.
the Choe keeps it at 99 or 100, basically always charging....no extra sounds here either...IMHO works great.
and through a Ringke Fusion case
My question is this something to do with the nexus or all QI phones in general? Do they normally goto trickle charge? If so google should fix this, id imagine this cant be good for the battery actually really bad for the battery. Going really low or really high wears the battery more than keeping it in more of the ~30-80 range. Yo-yoing like that cant be good for the battery.

Upon hearing of the issue/potential resolution in another thread on XDA - I ordered up the Samsung new pod chargers. One for my desk and one for nightstand. They both work flawlessly.
Previously, I had issue with my TYLT Vu and the two Nokia pads that I had bought as part of a close-out sale. I have relocated those to spots where the power cycle would not be as annoying as my desk/nightstand.
All works great.
Hint: If you have the S6 plugged in or wireless charging "OK Google" will wake your device every time. Unlike the spotty responses you get from S-VOICE.

From 0 to 100%, it appears to be about 2h51m total. From the attached screenshots 50% to 100% seems like a little more than half the time as wireless charging appears to be almost linear.
That was with the original Samsung charger (the one with the pre-order), sometimes plugged to original AC charger, sometimes with USB3. There is a 30% increase in charging speed, USB charging below 900mA, wireless-AC charging at about 1.2A (with default Samsung charger). That would make a full charge in about 2h10m.
Got this CHOETECH Iron Stand Integrated Qi Charger 3 Coils for my Galaxy S6, Nexus 6 and other Qi devices.
I have several qi chargers and this is my favorite. I was happy to find a stand like this that allows for the phone to be propped up.
It looks cool with metal material, sturdy, lightweight and charged well (at the expected 5V/1A).

This looks great, I wish they had the quick charge feature. Only deal breaker for me but my nexus 4 would love it. Great find. Thanks for coupon!
i got the samsung wireles charger, only the regular wireless charger not the fast charger. how come my N6 wont charge when the phone is OfF? when i put on top of it phone turns ON. also the samsung wireless takes forever to charge my phone. is that how it is? how many hours this choetech charge the N6? does the N6 using choetech can charge when phone is OFF?
The phone switching on when it is being charged is a known issue with the N6. I'm not aware of any way to prevent this.
Regarding fast charging with a Qi charger - the current (low power) Qi spec does not allow for this. There is a draft spec for both medium- and high-power charging, but it will be some time before chargers and devices that can use this technology become available.
Using Qi charging almost requires a different mindset for your device. Rather than letting the battery become almost depleted and then rapidly charging it, I have Qi chargers everywhere that I frequently have my phone (office, TV room, bedroom, car, hotel rooms), so that my phone is normally sitting on a Qi charger and the battery rarely goes much below 100%. If I am away from mains power for a long time, then I have an extended battery pack that I can plug in to the phone (though you can also get Qi versions of these).
Would a charger like this charge through a case? I have a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case (with clear back) for my N6.

Does this charger keep the phone charged after it reaches 100%?
The charger I'm using now (a Tylt knockoff) will reach 100%, but then stop charging until the phone is removed and replaced. This means if the phone is on the charger overnight, it'll usually drain a few percent between 1-2 AM (when it gets fully charged) and when I get up.

I have this charger and it does completely stop charging once the phone is full. Thankfully the N6 idles incredibly well and I always still wake up with 100 or 99%.
I actually returned this charger though because the LED charging indicator on the side of the stand is obnoxiously bright. Serves as a night light for my room while I'm sleeping.
