Display Issue with Acer Aspire Cloudbook 11 - Remix OS for PC

I am having troubles getting Remix OS to display properly once booted on my Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11. I can see the boot screen asking for Resident or Guest, but continuing boot doesn't render any screen. However, if I plug in an HDMI cable into the port on my laptop, it display fine. I understand this could be a great deal of different things, but I was just trying to start somewhere asking if anyone has any experience with this particular laptop/netbook and Remix OS, or if this is a known issue. Thanks!

This is currently a issue with android x86 in general on loads of devices, hoping they find a fix soon

A broken laptop.

I have a broken HP Pavillion laptop..
can i do something with it.... as in make a tab or something like that out of it?
Probably, it's can turn on but you have black screen and noise. Need's GPU reballing. You can't do it yourself.
Pavillions are so crap, I have many clients with GPU problems.
If it's not GPU, describe your problem.
Do you want to put android on it?
It don't think it will work very well, even though android now can run on normal x86 CPUs, check out the Android x86 Project. The problem are the drivers, you can't just use the windows/linux ones.
I hate hp. I use a hp DV6000. Pos laptop. Thinking bout getting an alienware soon or maybe a macbook pro and run it as a vm with win7.

Why have you posted this in the Android General section? This isn't directly related to Android.
To answer your question, it's quite unlikely that you can do anything with it now. What you're asking for is too far fetched at the moment. It's not easy to port a perfect working version of Android to a computer.

Well, if it's still functioning, you can put some Linux distro, make a nice frame for it and use it as a bigger digital photo frame.

[Q] Anybody working on a way for Windows 8 on Gtab?

There has been some discussion, but none since the Consumer Preview came out about being able to get Windows on a tablet such as the Gtab which is a Tegra2 chipset.
Does anybody know if it is even possible to get Windows on the Gtab at any point without a specific bootloader for it? With Android being more open than Windows we can tinker and change it far more than we ever will with Windows so I am not so much as asking if it is being done as much as I am asking if it can be done. And then if so if anybody is even looking at doing it. I would love to take a Consumer Preview copy and try to install it on my Gtab just to see if it would work but I don't know enough about tablet technology to even start, desktop on the other hand I'll get working, but not with a tablet.
So after all this, if anybody is willing to assist in trying this I am will to test it out. I have 2 Gtabs and I am willing to put one up for testing, but I want to do the testing so I can learn if anybody is will to teach.
IMO Never

gTab doesn't come close to meeting the min hardware specs that Microsoft has published for Win8 tablets (screen res, hardware buttons, storage space, UEFI support, Bluetooth 4.0, 720P camera, magnetometer & gyro, etc). It is doubtful that any modern Windows version will ever run in the 512M of memory the gTab has. In addition, MS has also said that Win8 Tablet will be tied to hardware (you won't be able to go to your local PC store & pick up a copy to install on any old tablet). The vendors will tie Win8 to their specific hardware & that is the only way you will be able to get it.
FYI, the Win8 tabs that were given out at BUILD had an Intel core i5 processor, 4G ram, 64G SSD, 1366x768 display, Wireless N, & 3G.
With android, devs have access to os source code that helps them to be able to modify android to the varying hardware. In the case of Win8, I don't believe you will ever see MS release source code which would make the task of porting to an unsupported devices next to impossible. Just my 2 cents.

[Q] Possible to mod old Kyocera Slider Remix gamepad to work on Android?

I have an Alienware gamepad made specifically for the old Kyocera Slider Remix phone (accidently purchased but never returned) that contains it's own power source via AAA batteries and has a mini-USB input. I've tried using it on a Windows PC but it did not detect it and tried it on a rooted WM8650 Froyo tablet. It sent the tablet into an immediate crash everytime. Does anyone have any suggestions or knowledge on how to possibly get this to work with Android? The controller has been collecting dust and I would like to possibly get some use out of it.

Because it is meant specifically for the Kyocera Slider Remix, and considering it doesn't run Android (Or any smartphone operating system for that matter) the drivers that allow the controller to be recognized and function would need to be completely rewritten. This would require knowledge of linux driver development and C programming knowledge. If your willing to try it I say go for it .

Remix questions I haven't yet uncovered answers to.

So, I just heard about Remix today. It sounds very interesting and is something I'd love to set up on a PC for my daughter. I'm leaning towards Remix as it's android based and is what she knows very well. My main question is whether Remix OS is a true stand alone OS, or does it have to be installed on a Windows box? I have an old Dell Dimension 510 that I wanted to set up with this on a SSD drive. Is this possible?
Thanks for any and all help!

You can install it as sole os but I highly recommend installing windows windows, as it is easier to maintain using windows. You can set the dual boot to automatically boot Remix OS after say 5 seconds so to your daughter it will be seamless boot

Remix OS is indeed a 'true stand alone OS' so you can install it like you would any other OS on any PC. It'll be super speedy on the Dell with an SSD.
Unless your daughter uses specialized software which runs only on Windows, you wouldn't need Windows on the system.

[Guide] Installing RemixOS on a Netbook (or any legacy PC) as the main OS

I know that there may be many other guides out there that talk about this subject, but what I found is that they don't really work that well with the latest versions of RemixOS, and I had to do a lot of research and tinkering to get mine working.
With that, I felt that it was helpful for me to share my findings and how I got it working, so I made a video for it.
Hope you guys find it useful.
Great video. I'd love to try it but I still can't get Remix to run on my old single core mobile cpu laptop but there is no support for these older cpu's and I've not had any helpful feedback from the Remx team, or any of the forums. It's a shame because the old machine wouid probably run Remix way better than windows, or an old version of Linux.. Dell Inspiron 5150 with Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz. It's not a great machine by todays standards but it bugs me that it's just sitting on the shelf.
Hey thanks for the video, although I still can't get it to boot up on its own. I have a gateway netbook which shouldn't be too far off from the Acer. Everything goes smoothly, everything works, till I reboot. The os doesn't load, I just get a black screen with a blinking underscore on the top left. I have tried everything I know, which is not too much. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Try DamnSmallLinux, a great tiny distro for pcs with low performance.
