AVG's Anti Virus app detecting SuperUser as Virus?

Hi all! I ran an anti virus check on my phone after rooting and the report detected SuperUser as a virus? Is it a false alarm & should I ignore it? The version of SuperUser which is installed is 2.3.6.1......I heard the latest version is 2.3.6.3. So can we update the new version manually or will it update via the phone internet automatically?
Yeah AVG always sees Superuser as a possible threat. I had the same fear when I was first new to Android. I changed to Lookout because it doesn't bother you about superuser. AVG is more or less warning you that with Superuser installed, it could be a possible threat is all because apps will have full access (if you let them) with the app. My superuser updated on its own recently
Thanks Blue265, actually AVG Anti Virus is right in principle. What I'll do is I'll put SuperUser on the ignore list of Anti Virus Pro, but won't give it automatic permission to access the internet. I'll update the new version from wherever I can find it from the net. There is no harm in manually uninstalling the old version of SuperUser and installing the newer version in its place, right?
If you check the market and look at your updates, does Superuser show up as being able to update? If not, can you search for superuser and install that one? the one on the market is 2.3.6.3 which is the newest. I think you should be able to update hopefully

I had same problem.
I installed Avast back and Antitheft as well, I enabled all ( include device admin) , checked it on the site of Avast under my account. When all was enabled, first of all I removed Avast like device Administrator, disabled Antitheft and unistal rest of it via normal way. Successfully. After rebooting all Avast was away. I used SD Maid pro to clean everything and checked my status of battery and system. Avast was successfully uninstalled.
I hope it will help you the same way like it helped to me.
Thanks got it i deleted accounts on the avast website
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I think it should be deactivated first from device administrators in security settings...

Yes I said it above..but Im using Avast! and Im fully satisfied. So my experience is here only from the reason I tried to uninstall Avast like test. ( In windows you need special uninstall. utility). In mobile no. Deactivating admin is enough. After uninstall is good to delete all Avast data via Root Explorer. ( It was working for me excellently). No trace after Avast..
But Im using Avast again and I cant complain ( Avast pro)

Do you need an antivirus for rooted android phones?

Unrooted android phones don't reuquire any security app-I know that. But what about rooted ones?If required, which are the best security apps?
Normally you dont need an antivirus on Android, except you load your apps not from Play Store but the internet.
SuperSU/Superuser can control the Root-Right itself.
BTW: Without Root your phone isnt more safe. See Towelroot.

Trying To Debloat Without Root On Lollipop 5.1.1 Using Debloater

Trying to debloat without root on Lollipop 5.1.1 using debloater
Hi fellas,
I have been using the Debloater program to disable apps on my (unrooted) Samsung Galaxy Note5 (Verizon). The program recognizes my phone and when I disable an app, it is sent to the Disabled section in Applications -> Application Manager. The problem is that when the phone sleeps or is rebooted, all the disabled apps reappear. I assume a system service is restarting them, but I have no clue which service that is and I don't want to go through blindly disabling the 350+ (!!) apps preinstalled with the phone. The only app I found that may be responsible is 'PreloadInstaller.apk', which I disabled to no avail.
Does anyone have any idea what app or apps are responsible for restarting the unwanted applications? I really don't want to resort to rooting my phone if possible, and definitely don't want to ROM it. This phone is almost $700; I don't want to permanently mess it up in any way.

S finder on recent app

Does anyone know how to remove the s finder on one ui 1.0 without root . I found how to remove the apps down there but the s finder kinda defeat the purpose of the nothing on the recent apps .
