5.1.1, Google Now Launcher, and Blue Status Bars - Xperia Z3v General

Just an FYI. I was recently disappointed when I updated to 5.1.1 and my Home screen turned out looking like this (note blue status bar and opaque launch bar):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Having forgotten that I had switched from Xperia Home to Google Now, I started trying to fix this by changing the theme to white, which turned the status bar grey. This was better than blue, but the opaque launch bar at the bottom was still bugging me.
I remembered that I had Google Now Launcher, and so switched back to Xperia Home. While my opaque status bars are now fixed, I find this Launcher unacceptable. The appearance of the folders, the lack of a dedicated Google Now bar up top, and the lack of swipe left to Google Now are all annoying:
Luckily, Z3v owners are not alone. I found a thread on the Google Product forum, and it seems like it was a Google App update (not Launcher, mind you) that created this problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

If you are on 4.4.4, just go to Settings --> System Update and check for update. If you are rooted or on 5.0.1 I think you have to revert to the last stock OTA.

I'm on 5.0.2 I have to make a downgrade to version 4.4.4 to display?

Yes, you must downgrade to stock 4.4.4 to receive the update through OTA.

Official ICS preview build for unlocked Xperia phones!

http://developer.sonyericsson.com/w...pha-rom-available-for-unlocked-xperia-phones/
This is an official ROM, but it's early, and not usable as a phone, so only really useful as a demo, or for developers who want to test ICS stuff early
Limitations and functionality
The number of features and functionalities working and turned on in this alpha ROM are very limited. This is because many features are not yet certified, and in a few cases because we have more work to do on certain features, as they are still in the Bring up phase. These are some of the features turned off or not yet working in this alpha ROM:
Google Mobile Services (GMS) apps are not included (for example, Gmail, Google Maps, etc.).
Modem is turned off and SIM card will therefore not be recognised (this also means you can’t make any phone calls).
Bluetooth™ is turned off.
Wi-Fi® is turned off.
ANT+ is turned off.
FM-radio is turned off.
In other words, this software is not intended for ordinary everyday usage – it is for demonstration purposes only. However, this alpha ROM includes a number of new features:
New “Roboto” font.
New “Holo” theme is supported (you are able to test apps written to make use of the Holo theme).
Music player control from lock screen.
Updated UI in the Settings menu.
Updated UI in the web browser.
Updated UI and interaction with the new messaging action bar.
Updated UI for improved multitasking.
Swipe to dismiss notifications, tasks and browser tabs in the Notification menu.

[JB] Missing arrows in search box

I've got an SGS that was on CM9, I'm now using pawitp's CM10 Alpha & have noticed something missing:
The arrows on the search box that allow you to enter autocompleted text without seaching for it (just adds the autocomplete to your search string) is missing. See the screenshots below for comparison (ICS (or GB?) on the left, JB on the right)
Was that something added by CyanogenMod? Or is it part of Android that's been dropped? I used to use it a lot! Back in the days of the HTC G1 you could use the track ball to scroll down through the list, but without that you're reliant on the arrows.

Hello,
Right now came an system update for my z2. I'm running the actual customized de stock Rom.
For me it didn't change anything.
Anyone got this update too?

Are you serious? This is old news. Existenz rom and Moonwalker rom are based on it. Are you living under a rock? And why did you open a thread about that before checking?

I've had exactly the same Build Number for about nearly a month (since it's out). Yesterday it showed up an Update. Phone had to restart for Installation also. So it Wasn't simply an App Update or something. I just wanted to know, if someone else got this. The Screenshot was just to show, that Build didn't change with this update.
Didn't find anything about this Update like Changelogs etc.

Have any of you encountered this problem? (see picture for reference)
Just got the phone yesterday (6gb/64gb variant, global rom) toggled themes to make the battery percentage appear just before updating the phone. Now after the update the "NoGlyphs" appeared suddenly. Tried applying other themes, restarting the device but the problem still persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Yes I get it too.
Here is the attached screenshot.

Clearly font issue. Did you change any font that was applied with the theme? Change the font back to stock. It should fix it.
No glyph means there's no placeholder for that character (unicode).
Some additional problems encountered:
-Can't change wallpapers when using nova launcher, you need to go to themes and change the wallpaper from there.
-NoGlyph appears on some instances when trying other themes. But later on after 2-3 changes it goes back to normal.
-Text color on some notifications blend in with the color of the background which makes it unreadable
-notifications dont even appear on the lock screen and sometimes don't drop from the status bar whenever a notif from fb or a message comes.
-don't even get me started on the clock display. Even when I deselect the 24hr ver. It stays the same and just adds am or pm next to it
Hopefully they'll fix the bugs in future OTA updates. Its buggy as hell!

Task Switcher Issue (Android Pie) - Random Blue Tint

Installed Apps
These *Apps, has nothing to do with the issue. I just added them here,
since I didn't experience the issue in Android Oreo.
No Issue: in Android Oreo
Default Launcher: Nova Launcher
Default Gesture: Fluid Navigation Gestures
Issue: in Android Pie, Random Blue Tint in the Task Switcher
* 9/10 consistency of Blue Tint every time I perform Task Switcher.
* I already performed Hard/Soft Reset, Wipe Cache Partition and Re-installion of Android Pie.
* Two weeks old problem now for this issue. Very frustrating to see the tint.
* Noticed in the screenshot; Left, the Blue Tint. Right Working fine Task Switcher.

EMUI version: 9.0.0

It's the custom launcher. All of them.
So the only way to get rid the Blue Tint is to use the Stock Mate 10 Launcher?
I really don't like the stock launcher.
For now, yes. For me it's a hit or a miss.
Thank you Sir.
I thought my device display is malfunctioning right after I accidentally dropped it one feet on the carpet.
noticed that 2 when using nova launcher but not in stock
I already inform the Nova Launcher Developers about the issue.
Looking forward for their response.
1. Unlock your Bootloader and Root your phone via Magisk
2. Install QuickSwitch via Magisk
3. Install Titanium Backup and Disable Huawei Home
4. Reboot
