Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Cam is only halfway there
You tell...
How to flash:
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
Requirements:
Make sure you have been on latest Sony STOCK at least once!!!
Custom recovery (TWRP)
Clean flash if coming from another ROM (no dirty flash)
.
Don't do it if you don't know it
Don't freak out if you have a black screen for a minute or so after Sony splash on first boot!
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows Sony AOSP source (3.10) with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
NO OTA ON UNOFFCIAL BUILDS
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

Gapps:
Use a small (like MINI or smaller!) opengapps package.
TWRP-3.0.0:
Most up to date version and instructions are by @Triflot here!
Make sure you have the new bootloader!
Important note:
Before flashing this ROM
If you have not already:
Flash unmodified (not prerooted(!)) latest Sony-Stock 5.1.1 / 14.6.A.1.236 or tripple-check that you had it flashed at least once before.
You do not need to be / come directly from stock to use this.
If you did not, then there is no support
Still have Issues?
You could try to flash some KitKat-Stock and let it OTA all the way up to 5.1.1

Stuck at starting Apps?
Just wait! and / or use a smaller GAPPS package!
How to Convert your Ext SD Card into Semi Portable Storage?
kingwicked said:
I have converted my ext sdcard into semi portable storage as you can see above.
Benifits (8gb adopted storage+21Gb Portable Storage) out of 32GB ext sdcard Class 10
1. i have 8GB (internal)+ 8GB(external) now for apps to move around
2. i can still remove the sdcard and transfer files directly to the sdcard 2nd partition of 21GB from PC
i followed the following guide by Sam Liddicott here is the link.
Code:
[url]http://blog.sam.liddicott.com/2016/02/android-6-semi-adopted-storage.html[/url]
if ADB commands dont work from pc . try mounting all partitions from TWRP recovery that worked for me

Sweet

Can this be flashed using TWRP 2.8.7.0? You know, by those who can't get the new recovery partition?

wow android M..

Phone wont boot
flashed the rom and gaaps and right after i hit reebot now onTWRP, it blackout and never comes out of it! What am i supposed to do it? Have to flash the stock rom using flash tools and ****! But why didn't it work? :/
Instructions said, dont freak out if it blacks out but it wont boot at all again!

I can get this ROM boot only without flashing gapps.
EDIT: i tried flashing the gapps you suggested after flashing the rom (without reboot device), then it will went to optimizing apps, and everytime it optimizing the google play services, it will blacked out and auto shutdown the device. Any idea about this? I'm sure i wipe all 4 partition (system,dalvik,cache,data) and using the TWRP 3.0.0 recovery.
2nd EDIT: i kept turn it on until the optimization is finished, then the rom work flawlessly again, thanks for your hardwork @op

It blacks out on first boot after Sony-Splash for up to a minute (or so).
Did you dirty, or clean flash? This needs a clean flash (first time)
You surely had the latest stock rom at least once flashed before? You do not need to be / come directly from stock to use this
And used TWRP3.0 from new recovery Partition?
Also you need an unlocked bootloader.
What gapps did you use?
Use a small (like mini or something) GAPPS package from openGapps or use theese: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/semdoc/AicpMM/SlimMMGapps
New build availible!
Significant changes: Doze enabled

So far so good man, everything works great, only camera as stated, no biggie at all....Sim card/WiFi were my only concerns, great work!!
Edit: DT2W works great, didn't know it would come with it.

Build from 26.02. Very good. The problem - if a call goes out the screen and you can not turn it on again. Only a reboot.

If you have had flashed the latest stock-rom at least once, and use recovery on dedicated recovery partition (simple use twrp-3.0.0) you can flash this no problem!
In german:
Wenn du mindestens einmal auf der neusten Stock-ROM warst, und Recovery auf der damit neuen Recovery partition hast (einfach TWRP-3.0.0) ist es kein problem:

Yea I have that bug as well, hope it gets fixed in future builds. Phone will come back only when the call has ended. Workaround for me was to go to Settings<Buttons and set Power Button to end Calls.

Hast PM, danke!

Thank you for the great ROM
I only have a problem with the SD card.
When I try to format the card, it gets stuck at 20% and then times out giving me a TimeOutException error. However, formatting the SD card to use as portable storage works.
toast message:
java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: Thread Binder_7 gave up waiting for partitionPrivate after 180000ms

I could not reproduce any issues when calling, but well, i have been building pretty much all weekend and testing stuff...
Will post screens and FAQ in a few days too.
Anyways, I'm proud to announce that my sources have been pushed to AICP, and offcial nightlies will start soon, when I get a few more issues resolved!

Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...

How to flash:
CHANGES (READ THIS BEFORE FLASHING!):
=====================================
YES. AICP is going to build rootless builds.
This change will happen during a short period of time.
I could explain the decision for that,
but that would not be understandable for all users, so i put it this way...
Going rootless means that the ROM will NOT come with any Root or SU built in anymore.
There will be no Magisk - as a buildin root solution - be provided when the user flashes the ROM zip file.
What you will have to do (If you don't do it by now):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will have to flash a root solution of your choice (lineage-su addon, SuperSU or Magisk) by yourself after the ROM.
I will link the appropriate solutions here in this post.
REMEMBER:
First flash the ROM, then your desired root solution!
This MUST also be done on every dirty flash to ensure root is not lost!
This MUST be done, when using the OTA app too! Just add the "root" zipfile after the ROM!
What will be noticeable to the user:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. We had to cut out some features for getting this done. Those are:
a. The SELinux switch in the dev options is gone for now.
This can also be done by other apps, if necessary.
b. The feature to flash another bootanimation from AICP Extras is gone.
You can still use a flashable ZIP from TWRP or Substratum.
c. The builtin logcat feature in AICP Extras will be gone.
Most users did not use it either as it only can store max. 400KB.
We already advised to use Catlog or Syslog Apps (both free on Play store).
Remember that both need root!
d. The builtin "System app remover" will be gone, as it required root to run.
2. You will, of course, not see Magisk Manager in the app folder, of course.
3. Remember that without a root solution some other apps e.g. Kernel Audiutor will also not work.
Whatever you choose. Lineage SU options are in dev options in settings. The others use separate Apps.
Links to tested root solutions (download from the thread):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Magisk (remember that v12 need the Manager to be flashed separately. v13 will have it buildin the flashable ZIP:
Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q)
Q)Do I void warranty by flashing this ROM?
A)This is OnePlus
Q)Can I flash an official AICP build over Unofficial and vice-versa?
A)Yes. It is possible. But flashing Unofficial over Official will break OTA's and you will need to manually download
ROMs from our website
Q)Can I dirty flash a newer nightly on an older one?
A)Most of the times, if on the same ROM, then you can always dirty flash nightlies. No Need to wipe stuff if you
are updating nightlies
Q)Can I flash XYZ kernel over this ROM?
A)Install whatever kernel you want but don't report non visual bugs from a kernel that's not shipped with this
Q)Xposed support?
A)No official support if you flash Xposed. When you are reporting a bug, make sure you check twice that the bug is NOT
caused due to Xposed Module.
Q)Can I flash SuperSU ?
A)ROM comes shipped with CM Superuser and it has been sufficient for me for all of my purposes. But I guess you can try
a working SuperSU. Do check at their official thread which ones to flash.
Q)I have loads of google apps FC'ing on clean install. Help?
A)You most probably might have flashed GApps after reboot. DO NOT flash GApps after reboot. Flash GApps during first boot itself. I recommend using Banks Gapps or Open GApps.
Few Norms For A Good Clean Thread
Slight OT is accepted.
Do not report bugs caused if you have third party mods UNLESS you know they're not the cause.
Please do not mention stuff like Lucky Patcher or Aptoide etc here. I'm fed up of those.
Be polite while asking/stating. Don't try to be sassy or sarcastic where unnecessary.
No posting of homescreen setups etc here.
While reporting any bug, make sure you give me a logcat or at least decent steps to reproduce the error.
I am a college student and I am not free 24X7 , so do not ask like I work for you. I need time to reply.
I will never merge anything without testing first, but in the case where a build doesn't boot, and you're sure it doesn't boot even on a clean flash, search a few pages before posting. If no one has mentioned then feel free to post here to help others. I will look into it as soon as possible.
You can talk anything about OnePlus One development here as long as it is related to our device and this ROM. Suggestions will always be welcome.
thanks for sharing
Excellent rom. I have been on kitkat for the last few months since I was tired of the poor battery life in LP and MM roms. This is the first rom I have seen, either LP or MM, that has a kitkat-like battery usage profile, with the screen using around 4 times the power than the system or any other process. That, along with the high amount of customability means that I will no longer have to use KK. Thanks!
@Raienryu do the current builds have the same fixes from the last build you posted in the previous thread?
So, I've reverted the QC Location Stack commit and also added some Ambient Display based gestures. The following build also contains the latest July Security Patches and has the new revision tag merged.
Yep. The official nightlies have those commits merged in.
Just flashed. I was in love with AICP Hurricane. Looking foward to testing this out! thanks!
Hey everyone, Halo from AOSPA (the notification bubble from the kitkat AOSPA) has been merged into AICP yesterday and will be available from next nightlies. Thanks to the AOSPA team for open sourcing it.
Note that having Halo enabled will disable heads up.
Have fun
Thanks a lot, this rom is awesome. I've only a question, sorry for that: this rom is not CAF, isn't so? Can i flash camera HAL? I'm looking for the best in camera
By camera HAL , if you mean for the OPPO Color OS camera, then yes. You can. I tried it some time ago. Didn't face any issues.
And yes, this ROM follows CM13 device sources.
No, i mean Camera HAL that is a mod version of camera by Sultanxda from OxygenOs. Another version is Snapdragon camera that use the CAF (CAF is cm based, am I right?), can I flash that too?
Sorry to bother you, i would ask another think: i can't set on "Now Everywhere" in the settings of Google Now. Is it a common problem? How can I solve? Thank you
Camera hal (blobs) are inbuilt and can't be flashed. If you try to inject the lib files you'll break the camera..
I am extremely happy to find AICP for bacon. I will tell you why below.
Among other devices, I have a samsung galaxy s2 i9100. I was using official CM13 nightlies on that for 1 month. The ROM is stable and smooth but the battery life is awful. The Android OS would keep the phone awake ALL the time. The battery graph would be a downward sloping ramp and it would not last for more than 12 hours.
Day before yesterday, I flashed AICP ROM for i9100 and voila, android OS keeping the system awake problem was solved. The battery graph was horizontal
Both the tests were performed by clean flashing with pico opengapps and no apps installed.
So, clearly AICP has something going right.
I would request @Raienryu to please try and point out what is AICP doing differently in this regard that makes it able to do so well.
I love the fact that a custom ROM does better than official CM. The dev there seems to only merge the common CM commits and would not do any developments specific to the device.
Thats why I trust AICP to do well on all my other phones as well
Glad you liked the ROM.
I don't know about i9100 , don't have it. But as far as bacon is concerned, the only change we have from Official CM is a commit that has been reverted. It's well known in the bacon community to save battery and decrease heat too.
In case you're interested, it's this one commit that we have wavered from CM.
Im dirty flash nightly 9/11 over 8/11 build, and have problem with lockscreen always blur, already change at setting but always blur.. And sometime my phone get hot(this already happen with 8/11 build)...
But over all i love this rom, thanks sir
Have you tried with AICP nighlty build the new revolutionary systemless method to root and have Xposed, called Magisk? Here is the official link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/mod-magisk-v1-universal-systemless-t3432382 . This method bypass Android Pay and apps like Snapchat that verify the presence of Xposed and root. I can't figure how to install on custom roms like AICP
Hey guys.
AICP 12.1 based on Android N 7.1 is out for our device.
Nightlies are up and running. Get your first build from the download link in the OP. Follow the proper instructions from the same.
Do not dirty flash if on a previous android version or if on a different ROM.
Check out the features in the second post.
Make sure to flash the proper version GApps.
Have a nice weekend ?
Oms or legacy?
Since i didnt read it in features, thx
Same as CM-14.1
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Nougat. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
Amazing.
You are incredible. Thanks so much.
Thank you SO much @Adrian DC for bringing AICP 12.1 to the Xperia SP!
Just finished installing the rom, took about 10 minutes to boot up, and its running perfectly. A few "...has stoppped" messages were displayed (for TTS and SystemUI) while setting it up, but after the set-up it was all gone. Rom feels really smooth and responsive. Multi-window works perfectly.
Overall, great rom and perfect for a daily driver. I've attached a few screenshots for those who haven't tried it yet. Thank you again, AdrianDC. You da man.
P.S.: The lock screen shows the AM/PM in huge letters, but that can be disabled from the AICP customization menu.
Does the rom have root access?
I am facing endless boot screen,,, after 30 minutes waiting am going back to AICP 11.. plz provide any solution ... I have made a clean Install by clearing wipe cache dalvik and internal storage.. then why??
You must wipe the cache, dalvik cache, system, and data partitions through TWRP recovery, and then proceed to install the rom .zip and gapps.zip.
Wiping internal storage was unnecessary!
Hi There Finally AICP 12.1 for XSP
Thank you So Much for making the XSP HERO again
I was wondering if fast charging is integrated in AICP 12.1
I used Go Locker for a while and when it was installed..there was a disply of Fast Charging and it actually did charge faster..but I uninstalled it later on and i feel like phone is sloly chargin
Any idea Guys is Fast charging feature available or is there any way to enable it
ALSO waiting for CM theme engine to be integrated..Else the ROM is awesome:good:
Since CM12 I thought this is a bit of an unfair business: Adrian DC is he's doing all the hard work, all the scientific research, and the custom ROM developers steal the crown just by adding some buttons and bling. Now, the king claimed his crown!
The best Xperia SP ROM ever. Chapeau, AdrianDC.
Skipped an OTA nightly yesterday (the 24th), updated the newest of the 25th of may and it gets stuck on on the AICP splash-screen. After roughly 45 minutes i tried a clear dalvik/cache, but i had to use a backup of the 23th of may to fix it.
Overall, love the OS, but the camera is crashing. 'can't connect' 'unable to start' etc.
reluctant to update again.
Try to clean flash 25 and 26 build : setup wizard has stopped
tried to update 23rd to 26th nightly; same bootloop.
Also problem with nightly 25 and 26
did not boot hang with aicp boot screan.
Tried also with older boot img same.
Back to 23 build
Edit: clean install should work
I will check why a lot of you are facing bootloop on dirty flash.
Anyways Clean Flash works so.. just do that
BTW I have a question, would you like hotplugging to be present or all cores on (like franco's kernel)
All cores on here.
FAQ:]
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Xposed is not yet available for Oreo.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update) as long as the instructions of your
root solution do not state something else (="persistence on dirty flashing") !
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk v15.3
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
There's clean flash, then there's format and loose internal memory. Many custom ROM require the format.
these instructions for omnirom but you will get the idea :good:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75222563&postcount=1924
And also these instruction for Lineage OS:
- Make sure your phone is running Oreo firmware (from OxygenOS 5.0)
- Remove custom encryption pins/passwords else decryption will fail!
AICP has pie controls right?
Working great here. There were a few settings fcs/lockups. Runs fairly well for a "beta"
If you flashed magisk at first boot, don't do it. Flash without magisk, let it boot, go through the setup process and now you can flash it. My experience with most of the current roms.
