Yes it's mostly because of the custom rom.

I don't think it's because of rom. It's mostly grounding issue. Try on different wall points. I have random touch issue on two of my wall ports. Other places it works fine.

[Q] RAZR lags

I bought the Motorola RAZR 1 week ago, my first impression about this device was positive. I bought this device after HTC Desire. I haven't rooted my device, it's all stock.
Now, I have experienced some problems I want to know if these problems are normal or not, and if so should I ask for a mobile replacement.
First problem, is that while playing sprinkle I experience some lags. When I start the game sometimes the screen freeze for 2 or 4 seconds then the games goes back normal and then after a while (after I pass 2 - 3 levels) the lag shows up again. Also the water in sprinkle shows as dots, or drops of water.
Second problem, while I'm charging the mobile and typing sometimes it chooses random letters I didn't touch. So, in general I have touch problems while charging the phone. It doesn't happen always but like while typing every 4 or 5 words it might screw up. But when the mobile is disconnected from the charger it works flawlessly.
So, are these problems normal or I should head back and ask for a replacement?
As for the charging issue I'm having the same thing. It started for me after vzw sent out the. 748 update. So I'm guessing that there connected.

I am using unlocked version, I didn't install any updates.
I don't know if it was already updated or not.
Try installing a different keyboard like Swiftkey X and see if the random letter problem goes away. I have not seen this problem on my RAZR.
It's not just with the keyboard. Sometimes it also happens when I click on an icon a different program starts. It doesn't happen that often, but it happens.
Have you experienced lag while trying sprinkle?
Are you using the default charging cable or another brand cable?

I'm using a vzw 9 foot charger. The eco green one. I wouldn't think a charger would cause it, but I'm a noob.

I know on my Motorola Droid, if I wasn't using the stock cable the touchscreen would be unusable when the device was plugged in. It would register touches in the wrong places and type by itself.

I got the same problem. Actually the touch-screen is kind of unusable if power is plugged in. Typing is very slow and often false. When I use swype, you can see that the touch input does not produce smooth lines as usual. Also hitting the right icon on the dash screen is hard as well, so it's not a problem with the keyboard. I experienced that problem with ICS and still have it with JB.
Any Ideas? It's funny that some people have that problem but obviously not all.
btw I use a german telekom branded razr.
I experienced touch screen issues once - at that time I was charging the phone, whatever I was typing, it was all wrong. When removed from charger, touch screen was responding perfect. Possibly it was some voltage issue, now everything is fine as I am using different charging point.

try installing a custom rom which cleans boat or other services and is just a light rom. alot of applications and alot of bloat does slow down the phone. i know what your saying and it happens alot especially when the phone becomes heavy. you should carry apps you use most frequently and i noticed widgets alot of them also give me lag on this phone so i avoid using them except calendar which i use frequently. also try a custom rom it will help something light like CM 10 or liquid smooth

Phone wont charge

Hey Guys, this is a weird one.
So i was on westcrips rom since january and on friday my phone stopped charging or being picked up on my computer.
my friend also had this issue and was able to fix it by using odin to flash the stock firmware. I did this as well and it seemed to fix the issue for like an hour. but now when I go to charge the phone its not picked up. but if I plug the cable in when the phones off and power it up with it connected then it charges? It has me pretty confused tbh!
has anyone here come across a similar issue or the same one? or did i do something wrong??
cheers!
Aaron
That's odd. Try flashing a stock fw again and do a factory reset (always backup!)

I had a similar issue on stock ROM. However, I found out it was because the charging port/charging usb was dirty. Yeah, dirty! Some people recommended using a toothbrush to clean the inside of the usb port and try and clean the usb pin too. It worked for me ever since.
The problem I had was, it would show it was charging, but in actual fact, it wasn't. i.e. the the little lightening sign would show, but no effect. And on the lock screen, it wouldn't recognise my charger and usb lead!
Hope this helps.

Are you guys using the Samsung cable or a generic one?

Is there a difference between 4 pin for the Sammy one and 5 pins for generic ones?

Are you talking about the USB cable? I lost my original S3 cable, hence I am using my old HTC Desire cable now. Didn't see any difference yet.

Apparently the Samsung one gave me troubles when charging. Like stopping at a certain percent and not charging anymore.. Tried another and that one has no problems.. How many pins does yours have?

hmmm interesting. Anyone knows why sammy has 4 pins instead?
Generic. The samsung cable is unstable, therefore often charges too slow due to usb charger stability detection.

Samsung Cable
Strange. My Samsung cable provided has 5 pins. But oh well, as long it doesn't give me problems, i will use it.

No brand. Generic. Bought a couple from a Market stall.
Multiple cables .
original cable use if Odin problems is old advice .

Well, I guess, those extra pins won't make a difference, coz the slot in ur S3 may have the same no of contact points as there are pins in original S3 cable..!
I use a cheap no brand one when I'm at work and the Samsung cable at home. No differences at all.
