Hi all, installed release_Remix_OS_for_PC_64_B2016030106 on my 64GB usb pen, in resident mode. Now I was in need to uninstall it, so I rebooted my pc in windows and formatted the usb drive.
But now I have only 1 partition with a 23,9 Size and looking in disk management, this is what I have (image attached). What is driving me mad is that if I click on the non-allocated partition, I can't do nothing, just property is not greyed out.
Need some help on this...
I had to use minitools partition wizard free to delete all the usbs partitions and then create a new partition and format again. Beta version seems to work different than alpha for storage. Not sure why 3 partitions this time.

My friend did a mistake and created ext4 part. for 4gigs that he doesn't really need using CWM.
How to make everything back as he wants to use all his 16gb card as usb mass storage on windows os?
you have to delete both partitions and make one in Mini Partition Tools

OK. I'll advise him this soft. Deleting/creating partitions is supposed to be performed using card reader or he can see ext-partition just connected his atrix via usb?
I am just surprised that there is no android app for such purposes ((
Someone should write it if it's practically possible)
Problem solved with Mini Partition Tool.
As I sad it would be nice to have any app to do it just on our devices.
if someone found anything pls post it here.
Thanx
Hi all, I've accidentally partitioned the sd-card through recovery and I don't need any ext partition (from romracers recovery there wasn't any undo option). I've tried formatting it through windows or gparted. Windows recognise only the fat partition so that one is the only one it formats; gparted sees both but if I try to remove the ext and format everything as fat32, the phone reject the sdcard not mounting it and giving an error. Any solution please? I'd like to have the original storage space! Thank you all!
Delete all partitions with gparted, then partition/format in the phone.

Thanks! What do you mean with "format in the phone"? Through recovery or from settings?

Either one should work.
If one doesn't, try the other.

Format again in recovery. Then choose 0 as ext position size. It will be deleted.

I think my microsd is half-broken but I managed how to use it until it leaves me forever. I surely have bad sectors because a llf encountered errors. I used a HP format tool to do a quick format and of course the phone told me the sd was damaged so i formatted and got the entire space...hope not to lose future data...any suggestion for pictures instant upload?

As a rule of the thumb please don't use CWW for partitioning your sd card as it cause errors. Try a tool called minitool. Use it to repartition your sd card with your card reader and computer. Then format it to FAT 32 file system. Hope it works for you !

The official organizaction that designates the SD card standards has a tool for formatting SD cards called SD Formatter which can be found here https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/. Make sure select the full format option.

Maybe there is hidden corrupted partition and some programs cannot see it. In recovery I can't mount sd ext. Maybe problems are with this partition?

Another suggestion would be to try using the gparted disk partitioning utility if you have linux you can download it from here gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php or use a live CD/USB version of it http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php.

There is at least a loss of 800 MB. Using mini tool see if there are unused space. Try these steps:
1) First of all delete all the entire existing partitions .
2) Then create a single partition .
3) Perform a full low level format using FAT 32 file system.
4) See if this works otherwise your sd card has got bad sectors which might be unrecoverable even using scandisk

I have TWRP v2.8.0.0 installed and cannot mount my 64GB microSD card (PNY). I formatted the card using my LG G3 (VS985).
In TWRP, I cannot tick the check box for "external_sd".
I can access the card and transfer files to and from when I'm in the Android OS.
Any ideas as to how to get microSD to mount?

I figured out the issue...
It looks like TWRP does not like exFAT. So, I had to format it to FAT32 using this tool "Fat32 format" tool from Ridgecrop since Windows only gave me the option to format the card to exFAT or NTFS.

old thread but same/related problem, this might help someone troubleshooting with google.
it seems that TWRP only recognizes the 1st partition on the sd-card, so if that's not fat32 storage, you can't make system backups. namely, in order to make link2sd work on a phone (lg g2 mini) that has a funky "sd-card" configuration where there's one in the internal memory, i had formatted my external one part1 - swap; part2 - ext2; part3 - fat32.
with this setup, twrp failst to see the external sd-card. not sure yet how i'll make both link2sd & twrp work.

I was real tired today when I got home and found a package containing a Samsung 256 Gig SD Card had arrived so I promptly put it in the phone and formatted it and then I must have done something wrong as the phone wouldn't read it...I was able to remove the card and find that Windows would read it no problems...
I know that this phone accepts 256 Gig cards so that isn't a problem so what else could it be??? Anyone have any tips to allow me to get back the use of the card?? What format should the card be formatted as and can it be formatted in Windows and then placed in the phone??
cheers

Spacs gives SD Card support : up to 256 Go.
What SD tech is yours?

Just an update, I have been trying everything to get the card working in the phone but nothing so far...I am able to see it in Windows and I can format it and reformat it to different file systems...ex-fat being the format of choice for Android phones...
One interesting thing I have noticed is that there is a 16mb partition on the card that I can't get rid of...this I think may be the problem...does anyone have any idea as to how to get rid of this partition and merge it with the rest of the card? I have tried using MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Edition but feel it might be something to do with Linux...am I close?

Did you partition the sdcard in twrp? If so it would be an ext3 or ext4 file system which windows normally doesnt read. Although a decent partition tool should be able to see and delete the partitions. I also double checked and your rom should support exfat.
Have you tried copying multiple large files to sdcard? Could be a format issue. I normally format my sdcards on my pc although I use linux (windows only for special uses). Could try creating a live boot copy of linux on a cd or usb drive and see if that helps. Just use Ubuntu which is one of the easiest. Gparted is the tool you will use. It will already be included with the OS.

No, I initially formatted the card in the phone as per normal...for some reason I then took it out and musta done something to it for it to be unreadable in the phone....

Did the card ever work? Where did the card come from? Could it be a fake? They take this small card partition it and run a compression tool to make it appear larger than it actually is. Which is part of why I mentioned coping a few large files (2-3 gig vids). Video cant be compressed much more than it already is so the card would look almost full with only a few gigs being used.

Have you tried using custom recover and doing a repartition? Read the question carefully. I have not repartitioned in recovery in a long time. I believe there are 3 options as you go through the process. If the first is like a cache partition set to zero. If second is an ext partition also set to zero. The third should be external storage I believe it will automatically set to max size but if not then set to max. Again it has been years so things might have changed but willing to bet they have not.
