I was in twrp recovery because I wanted to wipe my oneplus and start from zero.
I have no idea what I've done, but I can't boot my phone anymore...
All I see is the oneplus logo and I can get in twrp...
It says there is no OS installed, so I started searching for a way to fix this.
I've been trying to go into ADB sideload on the phone and cmd on my windows PC, but no success..
I can't seem to install a factory ROM from here.
I'm not able communicate with your phone through fast boot and ADB

That means that you ereased the OS, so you need to install it, maybe via TWRP, CMW or Fastboot mode.

Hello,
I have successfully unlocked my AT&T HTC One M9 and I am now trying to flash the recovery and root device. I am currently getting a error when attempting to flash that it cannot open file. I have renamed 'twrp-2.8.6.1_CPTB-B1-hima' to 'recovery.img'.
I currently have the file located where my ADB is located.
I am using command 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' with no success.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You have to put your phone into download mode, either load boot loader and choose download mode or "adb reboot download" Also the official 2.8.6.1 is working great now, I would recommend it. https://dl.twrp.me/hima/ You don't have to rename the file either
Thank you for you reply.
That unfortunately will not work.
This is what I receive during command:

I believe my phone is no longer available once it goes into bootloader and/or download mode. My commands no longer work in that state. I have tried to reinstall HTC drivers, but that does not work. I don't know if it is an issue but I can uninstall HTC Driver Install from my computer to install the latest which I believe is HTCDriver_4.2.0.001. If I try to install this with the current driver installed, it will not install.

adb does not work in boot loader mode. It says cannot open recovery.img. something is wrong with your image, or your not in the right directory, or your fastboot isn't working correctly. Nothing is wrong with your phone. Just install htc sync if you are worried about correct driver
Again thank you for your response. I have the image in the same file where I open on the command prompt. I have it on download screen, but it will not work. I will be trying this on a different computer, and hopefully it will work.
I have successfully flashed and rooted my phone. The issue is with computer I was using and I am unable to get Fastboot working properly even after re-install.
The subject of this thread has been resolved and I greatly appreciate your help.

Hello, excuse my English but not very comfortable on it.
To the page "emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/detail" I fill in the information in order to apply for the unlock password, knowing that I have a "P10 Lite Mod: WAS-L1" Tab "PRODUCT IMEI or MEID" I register my imei, but apparently I have two imei. I have to try several combinations (ex: xxxxx / xxxxx) and it puts me "IMEI must be composed of decimal numbers (0 ~ 9) or letters (a ~ z or A ~ Z)." How should I register these IMEIs to validate my application?
Thanks in advance.

Hi. so today i thought i would try to unlock bootloader and root then install a custom rom. I got everything ready on windows 8.1 . managed to unlock the bootloader and then when to flash twrp. Now the error i made is instead of flashing twrp i booted into it. I then proceeded to make the necessary wipes and then went to mount phone to pc so i could transfer the zip for the new rom and the phone just wouldnt show up on my pc. I tried eveything. So now i can only do 2 thing.s Boot into fastboot or into stock reocvery which offers 2 choices. update with update zip already placed in phone or clear data. When i boot into fastboot and then connect hpone and opem command prompt then type adb usb it starts daemon then says devices. In device manager it shows adb interface fine. So what can i do now as i need this phone to work as dont have a spare. How can i get it to let me use adb usb properly so i can flash twrp and then flash rom. It currently has no os on phone. Is there a way to flash via the phone itself? Also if i let it boot up it auto matically open stock reocvery. Can anyone please help asap thanks.
Heyyo, @dead4ngel
Derp! Just figured it out. Once you're in fastboot you don't use adb devices command, it changes to stuff like fastboot devices
Hence there's an adb.exe and a fastboot.exe
So for example once you're in fastboot on your phone and you plug in your usb cable? To flash TWRP you would do this on your command prompt
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
by chance have you tried this guide? Worked for me

If you experience fingerprint reader issues when your device is asleep please flash an updated version of the modem firmware. I know it sounds odd but it does affect fingerprint reader performance when the device is asleep.
Chinese 26s 05.09 from here works good
https://yadi.sk/d/woKdrlRrv8yhr/Китай
But others have preferred developer 466D from here
https://yadi.sk/d/woKdrlRrv8yhr/Для разработчиков
Modem firmware is separate from the ROM so you can flash them freely without risk of wiping out your ROM
Try each for a few days and see which one works best for you
Hi,
I have unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP recovery, flashed image "AospExtended" and started the device w/o issues.
Then I enabled device encryption, entered the password and the device started to reboot.
However it did not reach the phase where the password must be entered.
Instead, it ends up in a boot loop where the display shows "Kindle" and then reboots.
I can boot into both fastboot and recovery.
But even after deleting everything in TWRP and installing "AospExtended" image again, the boot loop is still there.
How can I fix this?

Yeah, encryption is not supported. You will need to format (vs. simply wipe) the system and/or data partitions. There was a recent discussion that addresses the commands needed. I will try to scare up a link and add to this post (check for updates).
Edit: This post should supply what you need; be sure to whap the 'thanks' button for @draxie if it solves your problem.
I boot into recovery, but then there's an issue with adb shell:
Code:
[email protected]:~/Hardware/Amazon/thor$ adb shell su -c "make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p23"
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device unauthorized.
This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.
Could I format this partition in fastboot, too?
Or in TWRP?
In recovery I tried to fix the bootloop issue by deleting/formating any partition.
Then, when I plugin the device to USB, I can only transfer data via file manager, means adb is not working.
Any file can be copied over to device (using file manager) and installed in TWRP.
A fool with a tool...

Right... if you bothered checking that thread
for *all* the relevant messages, you would've
realized that the person with the encryption
problem had rolled back to Lineage 13; so, adb
with TWRP was not an issue for them...
Luckily, for you, that's not actually necessary.

Probably not, although you could try
Code:

Yes, of course, you can, but I'd prefer
that you tried the fastboot method first
and report back if that worked (since
that's simpler and would be helpful
for others stuck in the same place).
Code:
[email protected]:~$ fastboot -i 0x1949 erase userdata
******** Did you mean to fastboot format this ext4 partition?
erasing 'userdata'...
OKAY [ 0.085s]
finished. total time: 0.085s
[email protected]:~$ fastboot reboot

Reboot is successfull.

Device: Asus Zenfone 6 with LineageOS 16 and LineageOS recovery
long story short, fastboot doesn't seem to working on my device anymore. I tried using a different cable, different computer, different operating system etc. I'm able to get output when I do "sudo adb reboot bootloader" but not always and only intermittently even the charging happens always. But whenever I reboot into the bootloader and do "sudo fastboot devices", I don't get any output
I need to flash the stock ROM on this device to be able to sell it.
Is it possible to flash the stock ROM on it without using fastboot? I tried using the LineageOS recovery to install the stock ROM but I get the following error
failed to verify package compatibility (result 1): runtime info and framework compatibility matrix are incompatible: Vbmeta version 0.0 does not match framework matrix 1.0. Installation aborted.

You can't use LOS recovery to flash the stock rom, it's only to update LineageOs itself. If TWRP, Clockwork mod recovery, pitch black recovery or any other custom recovery is available, you'll surely be able to flash the stock ROM.
And most of the time fastboot isn't working because the drivers aren't installed.
Make sure you download adb and fastboot from here : https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
You can check out this : https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-6-ZS630KL/HelpDesk_Download/

A device's Stock ROM can get flashed via ADB
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot sideload
adb sideload <FULL_PATH_TO_STOCK_ROM_ZIP_FILE_ON_PC>
adb reboot

Installing TWRP would also require fastboot I guess which I don't have right now. Can I flash TWRP without using fastboot?
I'm using adb and fastboot from the packages provided by my Linux distribution. They are also on the latest version.
Code:
$ adb --version
Android Debug Bridge version 1.0.41
Version 30.0.4
$ fastboot --version
fastboot version 30.0.4
I did, however, try doing this on Windows using the same link you mentioned and fastboot still didn't work. ADB works but not reliably.

Weird, you can install TWRP from the mobile app if your LOS is rooted. If it's not tho you're blocked. How did you install LOS in the first place ?

After an entire day of messing around, I finally got it.
First of all, I still can't get fastboot to work. I had the LineageOS recovery on my phone. I flashed the TWRP installer ZIP file from the LineageOS recovery and booted into TWRP. I installed the stock ROM from my SD Card in TWRP and rebooted. The device was stuck on the boot animation. Rebooted and did a factory reset and got the stock ROM back.
But yeah, fastboot still doesn't work for some reason. Don't know why. But hey, I got what I wanted.
Thanks for the help.
