Instant help needed! (Expert help) - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm not able to flash any custom ROM..
I had flashed before but then I came back to stock and now it just doesn't work..
I first tried RR ROM it flashes and in end says unmount of /system failed (which I know can be ignored.) when I boot it just remains in boot animation.
Then I tried Ashwins cm13 again same.. It just stays in animation.
Then Cm 12.1 and it also stays in animation.. I also wiped internal thinking maybe it would help but it didn't..
At last I flashed stock and it just flashes fiine and boots..
Note : I'm using TWRP 3.0.0-1 the official one..
Any help would be appreciated

hey if u are on stock.i guess u again installed twrp and r rooted.
the reason is that u need to go to advanced wipe.check dalvik,cache,data,system..wipe.dont touch internal and micro sd if u want to save your data.then go back and try the install again.let me know if its successful

great to know

If there are issues with TWRP, you seem to be the only one experiencing them.
Flash the full stock ROM and start from the beginning.
TWRP has gone official, so there's no use posting on eng.stk's kernel thread about it.

already did , flashed Siyah . didnt work, stock didnt work also
Try going into cwm and format everithing in advanced menu, including sdcard.
After formating everithing, go into download mode and flash a stock rom.
This should work...

i already did. even tried to install custom rom , loads at the animation but phone shuts down before it is completed.
could it be a hardware problem though?
Try to make a full wipe ... etc also format system and fix permission when all done ...
go to download mode and flash a stock rom ... if u can't flash a stock rom then flash a kernel first then u should be able to flash a stock rom with odin ...

i can flash anything but still it doesn't work. on gingerbread i can almost go as far as on the video . But when i flash ICS stock rom it could go to the S2 animation before it shuts down.
I had some problem..
I solved changing just the kernel and it started working again, just use Odin..
ALready changed kernel still aint working. ALso when in CWM , it says cant unmount emmc ,what does this mean? And on android recovery idit says install preload customer failed something like te thathat
Seems like faulty hardware for me...

Boot loop. Can most commonly be fixed by flashing stock firmware for your phone.
Can you confirm the model of your phone? I know the boot screen says GT-I9100, but what is printed on the label under your battery?
it says i9100 also so there's nothing wrong when choosing rom. do you know if -rw mounting has anything to do with this?
I had the same problem , wiped cache and dalvik cache and wiped data then installed jb compatible siyah and Rootbox jb 2.3 .. then my phone booted up
in ur case .. U have messed something up with a root app , and u will be able to flash slim ics and jb roms .. Other roms will give u a boot loop
Dont install a 4.0.4 rom and wipe anything .. Coz this will result in a hardbrick .. So be careful!!!

sir just a question should i use hanzoo all in one kit to flash that kernel? because i dont have that TWRP recovery.
Yes, use the toolkit to flash a kernel.
Always use a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM to make a backup before flashing something - 1 st RULE

Half the issues you guys have, is cause you use toolkits n such to do the simplest of tasks like flash a kernel.

You've only listed one thing you've tried, but if you have tried everything else then god knows.
status 7 error means you formatted the system. Never format system. Try a google search. you will get xda links of people explaining how to recover from that.

this thread will help.

Thanks for the help , but unfortunately this didnt helped me either...
Tried installing the ROM without Formatting the system while wiped the data and cache .
Still gives me the ****ty status 7 error .
@XperienceD - Even tried FXP 213 and MIUI 142.
Gives the same error.
Re: Trouble installing CM10./10.1
This happens to me too.
So the best solution for now. Flash the roms you want using the provided kernel.
Then take a backup, flash Mesa, switch between roms via restoring them from recovery.
I do so

I had this problem as well. I searched through google and found out the solution is to flash a newer version of CWM which actually worked for me. I couldn't find a separate package with CWM but I found a kernel containing it. Everything has been fine since then.

Flashed to a newer version of CWM ?
I guess MESA already has CWM6.xx
You found a kernel containing it means ? Most of the kernels already use CWM as default recovery I guess

Lupus uses twrp, actually the newer kernels come either as dual or with twrp.

MESA also uses dual recoveries and TWRP as default.
What did he exactly meant ?
Flash another CWM on top of the pre-installed recovery ?

if you have unlocked bootloader, try some of the kernels which use newer cwm or twrp.

Install Zip
Install Gapps
Wipe data (do this first and only once and never do it again)
then flash custom kernels ..

[Q] error mounting /emmc/ .android_secure

I haven't had this error till today! I was flashing DarkRom 2.5 and following its procedure for flashing. When i tried to factory reset via CWM recovery I got this error " error mounting /emmc/ .android_secure " .
I searched Google for fixes. Many had recommended to format the internal memory but again many mentioned it is not safe to format internal SD.
I am using SlidingXP v9 stable.
Any suggestions?
Edit: it gets stuck at Sony logo if i flash DarkRom v2.5
reflash back to stock rom.. via flashtool if possible (not sure if it can be done on Xperia to prevent doing brick.. ujff)

that's the kernel related problem bro even in Phantom and Sliding cause the CWM is the same! This is probably due the CWM problem.

Which su version?
Try flashing just the rom. If it boots up, then clean flash the rom again along with gapps
If no ROM is booting up, then here is what you can try.
Flash CM11, its kitkat based. It brings back some parts of firmware to stock. I don't know why it works but it works for me. It has happened with me for like 2-3 times in an year where even the stable ROMs which i flashed previously worked but did not boot when flashed after some time.
So, if you are sure it is not ROM's problem then try flashing CM11. One more thing, flash stock 5.1 ROM for at least one time. I had similar issue when I unlocked my friend's moto e bootloader on kitkat and installed lollipop based ROM. It didn't boot. Then I flashed Lollipop stock ROM first.
If your phone was on Lollipop stock ROM at least once and still you are getting bootloop then try flashing CM11. Also just flash ROM first, without any gapps or SuperSU.
