Hello guys,
I was wondering if there's an app which can record WhatsApp calls 'cause I've been searching for it on the internet but couldn't find a solution.
It would be great if you take some time out to reply me on this.

Yup. Moderator just moved the thread.
You can probably just use a screen recorder to record those calls, this is the first one I found after some googling. Havn't tried it out myself though.
Edit: AFAIK in some countries it's illegal to record calls without the other person being ok with it, so you might want to check your local laws before using it

What he said. The laws also differ from state. So you have to be aware of each and every law in the area that the person you are talking to is in other wise you could face legal issues.

What are the best non-motorola androids?
All motorola phones have call recording capabilities specifically crippled in their libaudio.so file.
I currently have an atrix and I don't have the knowledge of android OS to fix the libaudio.so myself.
Please FFS do not post anything about the legalities of phone recording in this thread. They are easily found by searching and not the topic of this thread. If anyone chooses to do otherwise, I humbly request a mod remove the off topic BS that seems to consistently arise in threads about software rather than legal oriented threads.
Thanks
Bueller? Bueller?
It has nothing to do with the phone, it's VZ, etc. Call recording works fine on MIUI.
I know on Samsung Galaxy S2 you can install a Call Recorder, check your phone-section.

It actually is the phone, the libaudio.so on ALL motorola US phones is crippled from the factory. No call recording software can work on the phone unless it's one of the jank garbage ones that only record's on speakerphone.
As someone pointed out earlier in the thread... call recording works fine in Miui roms.
Since you're looking for a software solution that would be the best way to go. Install Miui rom on your phone. If there is a Miui rom for your phone. I've recorded my calls multiple times and not for other folks for listening to it at a later time. A client calls me, I'm out in the field, we talk about specifics of the case, I record the call in progress and when I get back to the office I take notes. It does not work using bluetooth... or more specifically the client's voice can be heard but not mine.
Is there a 3rd party app that gives you the same functionality? I'm not sure. Haven't looked since Miui is my rom of choice and it does the job natively.
Good luck.

This is because it is illegal in alot of states unless you tell them you are recording them. If you don't they could sue you and have you put up on federal charges. The carriers are not gonna risk that.
If you want it then use an AOSP based rom that supports it. You could use MIUI but I wouldn't suggest it.

YOU WILL NOT BE BROUGHT UP ON FEDERAL CHARGES. You obviously don't know the laws and this is not the topic of the thread anyway. If you can't read then don't post, I specifically stated not to bring this off topic drivel into this thread.

Just in the spirit of the holiday here is the law
I never said you would, just that you can be. And just so you know. Every Android phone I have had has had the same issue. Only a few have been able to get it to work on AOSP roms as they dont use the stock files.

As I explain in PM, You CAN NOT be brought up on FEDERAL charges for recording your own phone calls. Federal law only requires one party consent, YOU are that party.
In the states mentioned in that link you can be brought up on STATE charges for violating the state laws.
However, all of this is off topic, I clearly stated in the first post

Your right this has gone way off topic. Topic is about the call recording software which is prevented on said phones.
You have answered. Of you want tgat ability you have to use a custom rom with it built into the kernel.
Can anybody say if they have had any success configuring rvoix to work with the EVO 4G LTE? Since it's a snapdragon, this can be done with some kernel tinkering, right?

FIRST please check the laws of your state and the states you receive calls on the regular to find out any type of disclaimer you would have to announce to the party your recording. In some places its a Federal offence to record a conversation without the party knowledge and consent of being recorded.
I know that GV can record incoming calls but haven't used used rvoix or any other form. If Kernel tinkering will be needed I wouldn't wait on it for now, we still don't have sources that would allow us to compile.
Thanks for the reply - lets just make it clear that I have checked on the legality of the recording (in my case I always ask permission - but in many states only one party (you) needs to have permission).
For the record, anybody who is concerned about the legality of recording calls and how to do so legally can consult the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, which has an excellent state-by-state website.
Now, anyways has anybody had any success with rvoix or something similar (that does recording from the line - not something that records using the mic)?
I think we are going to have to wait for kernel source

Let me know if you ever get this figured out or find a different way to record calls without the mic. I've tried looking for this before in the past, but never found. Sadly like you said it won't work on our phones because it is Snap Dragon, but maybe there will be a work around.

Well, actually what I meant was that it should work as soon as a kernel that supports it is developed because rVoix only works on snapdragon processors (like the previous EVO 4G)...so, just hang in there I guess and if anybody gets word of it, post it in here!
Thanks!

Since Skype updated to version 4 on Android, the DNA is no longer being supported and you cannot download the new version. Here is what the Skype representative had to say:

Yeah, I know it's not supported. The question is why? It's a current phone with very decent specs even now that it is around 7 months old. Are you really gonna tell me that a phone such as the DNA is not supported? What's wrong? It was supported just fine before this ****ty update you decided to put out. But seriously, even if you decide not to officially support it, why not allow the option for us to still download it? I'm sure the DNA can handle it..
Very disappointed in Microsoft.. I await your reply.

Hello XXXX,
We understand that you'd like to know why your device is not supported by Skype.
To clarify, the new 4.0 version of Skype is compatible with Android phones only. As we can see, the HTC Android DNA has the specifications of a "phablet". This means that it is a phone but has the size of a small "tablet" device.
Although most Android phones are supported by the new version of the Skype application, some are left incompatible due to the size, resolution and specification designs of the application. For this, we apologize for we are unable to provide a specific reason why it is not yet supported but we assure you that we are working on developing a version that would work with your device in the future.
We hope that we have given you an idea and we thank you for your time.

I was actually fairly good at my job and explained things to the best of my ability. But the moment you cussed at me, I would probably tell you to speak/act like a damn adult. If you want ro be respected, you have to give it as well. That person could have easily told you to piss off for being a whiny kid. Obviously that rep didn't know why it wasn't supported, you made yourself look like a big baby with your language and use of caps lock. You could have easily asked to be transferred to someone who may know, such as his/her manager or supervisor. Not everyone is as tech savvy as the people on this forum, cut them a damn break.

Judging by one of our XDA forum rules
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

OK so it seems it is a state thing and depending on the program, it covers 12 states in the US where it would be illegal.

That depends on the state. The state I just lived in made it illegal for all kids over 16 as that is when they can leave home. You also have to tell them its on there. Also any of the programs that are used to record calls are flat out illegal on a childs devices due to the laws about recording phone calls and both parties having to know about it.
But to each their own. Anyone that feels they need to spy on their kids has already lost them.
