RemixOS standalone on tablet UEFI 32bit - Remix OS for PC

Hello!
I have a tablet with UEFI 32bits (it's a Emdoor EM-i8080 with Intel® Atom™ Processor Z3735E) and I'm trying to install just RemixOS at the HDD, without Windows side by side.
The thing is, I tried many tutorials that I found here at XDA and nothing seems to work with my tablet. I understand that the process is the same as install the RemixOS in a VM, right?
I managed to format the HDD with GParted, install RemixOS with "INSTALL=1" but, after the install, it just doesn't boot. Then I tried another tutorial using a Linux USB Live, but the linux usb doesn't boot (tried with Ubuntu and Debian).
Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks! =D

Hi, I know this an old thread but if you have not fixed it yet then this might help. I got a similair tablet and got Linuxium 16.04 and 16.10 to boot on it, by using kernel parameter
nomodeset
then at least you can get to the desktop. I have only tried the 64bit and Gnome, Unity, Xubuntu, Kubuntu(don't use this one as it uses too much RAM).

I can't help you with the android as I have not yet got that to boot to desktop.
Hope this helps

[Q] USB Boot Ubuntu

I have a Windows 7 64-bit Desktop with a 3.1 GHz AMD Athlon processor, and around 4GB of RAM. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I want to learn to build android from source, but the better step-by-step guides are for ubuntu. If I were to get ubuntu, I would want to boot from a USB flash drive. Would an 8GB USB flash drive be sufficient for setting up ubuntu, the android sdk, and building a rom? Can I use my PC's harddrive for storage while ubuntu is running from the USB? I have found that Ubuntu 10.04 is recommended for android development from source. The only problem is that there are so many different downloads and files with different file sizes no matter how much I search. If someone could answer my questions and post a link with the ubuntu image, and perhaps a guide on how to install it on my usb, I would be very joyous.

you could run ubuntu live off of a usb, but it would be painfully slow. Especially when you are doing cpu/ram intensive tasks like compiling.
Id recomend doing one of the folllowing things:
First/Better option: install ubuntu onto your computer in a dualboot with windows 7
-it will be faster because it will be installed on your computer rather than having to read from the usb
-also faster because all of your cpu and ram are being dedicated to ubuntu
-some people see the word dualbooting and immediately think that its too hard but it isnt. Watch this tutorial: Click here for tutorial
Second option: install ubuntu in a virtual machine within windows 7
-this will be slower because you need to share your computers hardware with windows 7 and ubuntu at the same time
-heres a tutorial on how to do this: Click here for tutorial
Also heres the download link for ubuntu 12.10 (the newest version 64 bit): http://releases.ubuntu.com/quantal/ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso
Some people say that 10.04 is better, but i know lots of devs that use 12.10.
If you still want 10.04 here it is: http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/ubuntu-10.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso
Yup...true..you can run ubuntu live cd/pendrive but it will be really slow as said earlier.
So wat u do is to download that ubuntu image files.
Then you can use 'unetbootin' for making bootable pendrive.
And 8gb is enough(though 4 will also not be problem in anyway).
For easy installation partition your harddrive to make some 'unused' space(not free..delete the partition as ubuntu needs diffrent partition table,we don't need ntfs partition) for ubuntu.
Now install ubuntu with option 'install ubuntu alongside windows' and you are done with ubuntu part.
Now install android development kit and start working..all the best.

Remix OS 64 Bit version not booting on old laptop

Hi All!
I have a Lenovo laptop lying around my college days and i thought to use it for trying Remix OS. I have checked online and the processor, Intel Celeron M 540, supports 64-bit instruction set as per Intel website. So i saw a method to dual boot remix os on windows. Formatted one of my partitions and proceeded with the dual boot method via EasyBCD. While trying it, it detects Android x86, detects data partition, but after the "Checking Data Partition" when it should show RemixOS bootanimation, it simply reboots the PC and the same happens with booting from USB as well. So could anybody please suggest if it has something to do with the processor side or is it the old drivers or something?
Model number is Lenovo 3000 G410. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Have you had any success with this yet? I have the exact same problem, and can't find answers anywhere. I've tried everything!!
I have a similar problem with lenovo s205. It doesn't even boot from flash disk or external hard drive (any of 64 bit version) the only 32 bit version boot from drivedroid on my phone but only live.

Well i downloaded and tried the 32 bit version and it worked fine. But the OS is working awfully slow. I'm afraid it's the hardware that can't run it smoothly. Will see if i can find some space on my PC to try this OS. A great project with potential nonetheless. :good:

Problem booting; stuck at smth like command line.

So today i tried to install RemixOS on my pc that is running : i5-4440;8gb RAM;GTX770. I had a ~9GB NTFS Partition and I wanted my RemixOS to be in it. First I Downloaded the 64bit one and tried it, it didnt work, it booted to some kind of consele mode or idk what, here is a picture (it is from 32 bit one, but it was the same in 64bit one) http://i.imgur.com/XZVTDQ6.jpg . (this is image from second or third boot, in the first one it checked the partition ect.. and it had no errors at all) than i tried it on my SSD and the same thing again. After this I tried the 32 bit on my Partition and the same thing as on the picture. After it I tried it on my SSD and the same thing. I would be very thenkfull if someone here helps me.
Had same problem. Found solution.
On RemixOS folder from Windows open "menu.lst" with Notepad.
On the kernel line add "nouveau.modeset=1 i915.modeset=0" this will enable the NVidia drivers. But this won't work most probably but try.
If this doesn't work enter " nouveau.modeset=0 i915.modeset=1" this line on the kernel line and connect the HDMI or VGA to the motherboard so that it uses integrated graphics.
Hardware :
Intel Core i7-4702MQ
NVidia GT750M SLI
16GB RAM

Can't install RemixOS to USB stick on some NVIDIA graphics systems.

I tried to install RemixOS to a USB stick, but got the same blank screen as I previously had gotten when trying to install Linux Mint on my system with an NVIDIA GTX 970 video card. Turns out some newer NVIDIA graphics cards do not have video support until the drivers are actually installed, unlike my previous AMD card.
What I had to do to install Mint was to use recovery mode on the Live CD, then use the "NOMODESET" command for basic video graphics to be able to see the install screens.
Even using "NOMODESET" for the USB install wouldn't help very much for RemixOS since there's no way to install the official NVIDIA graphics drivers after the OS boots like you can in Linux (that I know of).
Is there any workaround? For now, I have to use RemixOS through VirtualBox on my main PC to test and play around with the OS because of this.

Fresh install, no dualboot! Acer C720P (Chromebook)!

Been scratching my head all day how to get Remix OS running on the internal SSD.
Write protect screw is gone, been running both arch linux and ubuntu on this machine before trying this.
LiveUSB boots fine and works really good, so i want it installed on SSD.
So basicly i boot, tab, "INSTALL=1" so i get to the installer. Ive tried both GPT and non-GPT
what ive tried is like what should be normal linux execution, sda1 as boot / 8300, and sda2 as filesystem / 8300
also tried sda1 /ef02 and sda2 / ef00
Tried both grub1 and grub2 options in installer.. both options seems to only install grub1 ?
Tried both 32 bit and 64 bit installer, same error.
But it writes files to both boot and system. But at grub screen its just keeps loading when booting.. so something with grub gets f'' ed up
Can some1 point me in the right direction for doing this, all threads is about dualbooting with windows it seems, and i cant run windows on this machine i think, and i wont do it even if i could :'D
Any tips for executing this?
/Regards Bultiz
Okok some more headscratching..
Flashed new bios on chromebook, so now I have uefi support, and it works with Ubuntu..
But I can't get remix OS to be installed, I even tried installing grub from live usb, but I can't chroot since there is no /bin/bash? So I can't update-grub?
What am I missing?
