Is there any rooted (and possibly deodexed) rom based on G925FXXU3DPBG ?
(I searched but could not find; maybe it is named other)
Hi,
I have installed firmware G925FXXU3DPBG on my Galaxy S6 Edge. I use the CF-Auto-Root as always.
After the reset, my phone has SuperSU app installed but the SU binary is not available.
What can I do ?
Thanks.
Now I have installed G925FXXU3DPBK instead of G925FXXU3DPBG and I am able to root with CF-Auto-Root
So, does that mean G925FXXU3DPBG is not compatible with CF-Auto-root ?
And, after root Google Play Services pop ups an error (unknown) .
Is there a solution to this ? Is it common ?
thanks.

I still have android 4.4.2 on my device cuz my phone is rooted and i have heard i will loose root if i upgrade to 4.4.4. I simply don't want to root again. I have super su pro and survival mode is enabled. I also have xposed framework installed with gravity box and greenify modules. I have heard i can't upgrade unless i uninstall xposed. So my question is, can i upgrade without losing root n having xposed? Has anybody successfully done it? N yeah i have twrp recovery.
Thanks in advance
Has anybody got the stock firmware of Moto E Indian version? The file is named "Android 4.4.2
Blur_Version.20.11.14.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03" and can be downloaded from http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=34
But that site doesn't support resume and is slow as hell and download always fails and restarts from the beginning. So it's literally impossible for me to download from there. Either give me an alternative link to that file (Googled a lot, found no mirror) or someone please kindly extract recovery.img from the ZIP of the firmware and post it here.
Thanks in advance.
I know I have to reflash stock recovery in order to be able to upgrade to 4.4.4.
I have manually flashed the 4.4.4 version of android using TWRP and using the OTA update from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/general/4-4-4-ota-update-zip-file-t2811397 which has been modified and made flashable with TWRP. Many thanks to Gogeta.
Problem is sorted out.

I have bought recently a Galaxy Alpha
Android : 4.4.4
Product code : SM-G850FHSEXEF
Version : G850FXXU2BNK3
I have rooted it with KingRoot
Why ? Because, I am living in France.
And in France, when you buy a product by web, you have 2 weeks during you can return the product if you are not satisfied with it.
And I doesn't want to use Odin due to the eFuse Knox
Nevertheless, I tried to connect by mirrorlink to my new car but it doesn't work.
I have installed Drivelink but no success
The galaxy alpha seems to be mirrorlink certified (soory, I can not post the link)
Due to the date of certification (April 2015) and these information in the following link (sorry I cannot put the link doclot.io/2015/04/29/6-mois-avec-le-samsung-galaxy-alpha/)
It seems that Mirrorlink work only with Lollipop
Do you know if , on Galaxy Alpha, mirrorlink works with KitKat or only lollipop ?
If it works only with Lollipop, I will have to update the android OS.
I have tried by OTA, but it doesn't work because It says that modification have been done
With Kies, It seems possible (I have not tried, I have just seen that a Lollipop update is proposed)
My question is root and lollipop.
How to keep root or to root after upgrade . Do I have to unroot before upgrade ?
Is Kingroot still working ? Or by Odin ?
I want to be root in order to delete somme applications I don't use
Thanks in advance for all your help.
The firmware Lollipop is G850FXXU2COD4 (thanks to Phone Info)
I can't answer your question concerning mirrorlink on lollipop (or even kitkat). I don't know if it works...never used it.
But to upgrade your device to Lollipop you can flash the 5.0.2 XEF factory image (original firmware) with Odin WITHOUT triggering KNOX. Only putting custom recovery to your phone triggers KNOX (that's what happens when you root your Lollipop firmware with Odin by flashing Chainfire's CF-Auto-Root). Kingroot does't work for our device on 5.0.2 Lollipop until now, I don't know if it ever will...
If you unroot your device you also should be able to receive OTA Lollipop update, KIES then also works.
So in the end, what do you recommend ?
* To keep root with kingroot, so updgrade with kies to lollipop and wait for two weeks and root with CF-Autoroot ?
* To use Super- Pro Sume, so upgrade with kies to lollipop and wait for two weeks and root with CF-Autoroot ?
* to unroot, so upgrade with OTA or Kies ?
* other ?

Upgrading to Lollipop will unroot your phone and you cannot gain root unless flashing CF-Auto-Root. If you want to stay rooted you have to stay on KitKat otherwise I would flash 5.0.2 XEF firmware with Odin and CF-Autoroot in two weeks.

It is possible for ODIN. Use CF-Auto-Root.tar
I have switched to Lollipop with Kies.
So with Lollipop you have acces to mirrorlink (and also android auto)
But I have losed my root....
When I check to CF_Autoroot, it shows
samsung SM-G850F sltexx slte universal5430 exynos5 KTU84P.G850FXXU2ANI2 4.4.4
So no mention of lollipop.
Is any way to root a galaxy alpha with Lollipop ?
Thanks

CF_Autoroot also works for Lollipop, here's the link to chainfire's page with the download: https://download.chainfire.eu/529/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-slte-sltexx-smg850f.zip
I Have the SM G925Z Version of the galaxy s6 Edge [Japan SoftBank]
I See many Roms that say "Works with many g925 Versions !" but the Japanese Z Version is never listed anywhere.
only the F T U V P etc etc versions.
If I use TWRP 2.8.6.0 to backup my current Rom, can I try these other Roms and safely return to my Stock Rom
if cell or wifi service stop working? If I try 5.1.1 Roms, I can not return to 5.0.2 roms?
Can I use TWRP to install a 5.1.1 rom that I download, even while my current Rom is 5.0.2 ?
or can I only install Roms using Odin Flash tool ?
My ZTE Warp phone was able to install Roms from downloaded Zip files with TWRP.
But I am not 100 % sure about the process.

First the s6 edge is a different style of device. To install 5.1.1 roms on the device you have to be on 5.1.1. Same with 5.0.2. Yes you can try any rom from the s6 and the s6 edge rom so long as you flash a special kernal for your device that makes the rom work on your device. If cellular data does not work, revert to your nandroid backup of your origonal os and flash another rom and you'll be good if that one works. Just repeat if the roms dont work or if you get tired of it then just stick with your stock rom which should be your nandroid backup.

Thank you. I can understand this, except for the kernal part, please explain.
How can I backup my current Kernal so that I can return to my Stock Rom backup.?
will a TWRP Nandroid backup do that automatically ?
how do I install the correct Kernal? with TWRP ?
for example, from the ROM installation , it says
[5]Install Zip from storage
[6]Flash The Capsule ROM
[7]Flash arter97 kernel
[8]Flash SuperSU
[9]Reboot
Im assuming 5 means, copy the rom to the phone, 6 means use TWRP to install,
so flash the kernal after the rom ? with Twrp ?
how can I backup my kernal first? so that I can return to my 5.0.2.
and last question, you said I need to be on 5.1.1 to try 5.1.1 roms.
the Japan SM g925Z is a 5.0.2 rom atm, they never updated to 5.1.
most of the roms I see are 5.1.1
Does that mean there is no way to upgrade to 5.1.1 while on 5.0.2 ?
or does that mean, if I flash a new TWRP and 5.1.1 Rom, I can just never return to 5.1.1 ?
Does TWRP Mean Kernel ?
maybe that is what I am missing.
I already have a working TWRP.
some roms do not mention flashing kernels in the installation, some do,
does that mean it does not matter? or does that mean that the installation guide is terrible and people are going to brick ---- if they dont know about it ?
Im not exactly sure the difference between kernel and Rom.
To answer your first question, the nandroid backup you do in twrp backs it up because it is a required portion of your rom. Which also answers your second question as yes.
The answer to your third question is you have to find a flashable zip of a custom kernal for your device. You can also try restoring your boot from the nandroid which contains the kernal and if that one doesnt work flash the custom kernal zip.
Next i need a link to the rom your trying to flash to check it out.
The only way to install 5.1.1 roms is to be on that android version. The reason is that android uses an sdk platform and 5.0.2 uses sdk 21 and 5.1.1 uses sdk 22 so those are incompatable with each other.
No way to update that device to 5.1.1 unless it is released for that device or unless the hardware sources are released for aosp roms which may be a while where samsung has not released them yet due to the new Exynos processor that they recently created.
No twrp is your recovery but it backs up your kernal with the backup.
Those roms are for specific device varients and will work without installing a kernal because the kernal that it needs is for the devices they are meant for.
The others that say install kernals are ones that didnt have the kernal put in the rom zip.

Either that or they didnt modify the kernals in the rom zip to the specifacations that they wanted so they fixed it and posted the kernal.

thank you, that does explain alot.
I am not sure which Rom I should try. None of them actually say sm g95z.
Which roms would you recommend I try first?
I am not sure any will work, they all appear to be 5.1.1 only.
which means my 5.0.2 system can not test any of them.
or more specifically, if I upgrade to 5.1.1, and they fail to connect to wifi or cellular, then I can not return to 5.0.2 I guess.
Do you know of any that are 5.0.2 ?
those should be safe to try I guess.
I just want to get rid of the 500 retarded A-- Samsung apps that auto update.
I dont need Sfinder X_x, I dont need quick connect, I REALLY dont want virus protection from samsung clogging up my performance.
I have read about build.prop tweaks and updates, but the sm g925Z version did not get 5.1.1 updates, so those fixes do not work.
I do have Root access already, but with TWRP 2.8.6.0 (Because its said that it doesnt trip knox).
but I can not un-install these fkn bloatware apps, even with root access.
This appears to be a 5.0.2 Galaxy S6 Edge Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...edge-g925fxxu1aocv-v1-0-deodex-aroma-t3102974
but it says G925FXX, my phone is G925ZZ
I should be able to test it, and return to my g925ZZ TWRP backup pretty easily right ? since it is 5.0.2 ?
Just to confirm for other people.
I tested the VNRom 5.0.2 for G920F
it ran like S--T.
I used TWRP backup to go back to Stock 5.0.2 just fine.
no problems.

It will be great help.
Thanks..
I searched alot.
I did not find and roms that will work.
I did not find stock rom also.
Did backup my stock rom with twrp. I posted the links recently i think.

Hello, Have you found any compatible rom?
Samsung GT-19300 (Android 4.3 installed) : I want to use a rom to upgrade it.
Hi to all,
my name is George and i own a Samsung GT-19300 that currently has installed the factory Android 4.3
I would like to use a custom rom to upgrade it...which ones are stable and up to date ? which one do you suggest?
Please help me choose a stable rom for my phone... i have a read a lot but i got confused!!
Best regards,
George
IMHO You should search for rom based on stock firmware - it would not cause issues with basic use (ie. wifi not working).
Good option is a rom with Aroma installer - then You can check what You want and what You don't want to have.
Another option is just to root your phone and remove unused apps. Then You could install Xposed framework (with mods) to add some new features.
Notice:
Depending on your rom version, root can trigger knox flag what means no warranty.
Almost any custom rom requires custom recovery - that also triggers knox flag.
Above is true for 9305.
@xterm1: S3 i9300 hasn't Knox-efuse! Only a counter, which can be resetted. @moi197733: there's no simple advice. Make a list of points which are important /unimportant for you. Then ask again.
@rp158: Thanks - post fixed. I assumed that from 9305 version.
Hello.
Any Custom ROMs / Stock ROM for Huawei Mediapad T2 7.0 Pro available for download? I need to roll my device back to somewhat clean (fully unrooted) state.
Here's what I did:
- Rooted my device using Kingroot
- Switched to SuperSU
- Deleted Kingroot using SuperSU and tried full unroot
- After full unroot, my device remains "Rooted", according to Root Checker
- Tried flashing some Custom ROMS from TWRP, either failed or stuck on boot
Thank you.
[updated]
found a stock ROM from Russian thread - thank you!
did you find any way to install custom roms

Can anybody tell me how to install custom roms on this device?
I couldn't find anything, nobody seems to have this device and the official updates have been stopped too.
It is still at LOLLIPOP 5.1.
Can anybody help me?
thank you so much
- I use this device too. As far as I know, there are no custom roms for this device (or probably there will never be ones)
- For stock rom, download here https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=browse&b=category&id=16614
I have tested some of the roms. They work well. Remember that you CANNOT install these roms with any of huawei official methods because of country vendor system or something. For my case, my firmware is locked with Cambodia vendor, so i cannot install the roms directly (e.i middle east country). Solution? 1. unlock your bootloader. 2. download any roms above. 3. extract the zip file then extract system.img, boot.img and recover.img from the update.app. (google it by yourself). Then fastboot the images. (google it by yourself). Done! when i have free time, i will write a step by step guide on this thread
