Don't worry. You can unlock the bootloader and the root the device with the AndroPlus' kernel. Check here:

And why would that solve the op? Please don't reply if you don't know what your talking about.
As for op. If the bootloader is unlockable and oem option is checked then you should be able to follow the link that lirex posted.
If that doesn't succeed then it's possible either the oem unlock option isn't selected and/or the bootloader is not unlockable.
If that's the case you have a couple of options.
Contact the seller ask him for his Google details. (doubtful)
Contact ebay resolution center to either get him to give you details or send the item back.
I blame Sony as they don't give much documentation on this and how to sell a device properly.
In order to do it a factory reset alone is not ok. The Google account needs to be removed first then factory reset.
AFAIK it's not possible from his side to remove this but I could be wrong.

Unlock bootloader allowed: No -> Yes?

Hi!
I haven't seen a way to change the status from "bootloader unlock allowed: NO" to YES, but in a forum I read that some guys managed to reach an agreement with sony. If we send the simlock unlock codes they will allow the bootloader unlock.
Here's the OT

I'll send a mail to see if it really works (I have the sim unlock code).
Do you know something about this?

After reading a bunch of Googlish I don't think they got any response yet. I don't think emailing Sony will get your bootloader unlocked but you never know.

The chances are very small, but looks like they are going to unlock it:

Looks like the only requirement now is that you have to bring the device to a sony service center
We are dealing with Sony to get our handsets fully unlocked, but what i am most afraid of is if employees will be aware of this. I hope so!
We will keep you guys updated!

Seems like it's only for Spain
kindly add a question mark to your title, for obvious reasons. thanks
you can make the bootloader unlock allowed: yes by ezSEMC tool. I made it yesterday unlocking my acro HD for 45$. the phone became fully unlocked and bootloader changed to rootable, after that i've unlocked bootloader by official method.

Can someone confirm this status could be changed NOW ?!?
Some people say it can't be done no more because S1 server is closed for good an no other solutions for now...

I've heard rumours the s1 server is offline for good aswell. Missed it by about two days. Gutted. I've been checking daily for about 3 weeks.
Can't believe I had so much fun with my x10 and cm roms, but now I'm forced to stop.

I still find hard to believe no one can "break this code"...
I would certainly donate to some Dev to crack this problem for good. If it can be done by CSCA Server than is just some service mode and software changes.
That or find some loophole to flash kernels into the phone, security blocks for that are so hard or complex that no one can break them ?!

[Q] unlock bootloader allowed "NO"

Hi guys,
as title above suggests, after doing the *#*#7378423#*#* trick, my SXS says bootloader unlock is not allowed.
Is anyone aware of any exploits to make this possible. Yes I know ICS is coming out soon, but as I am on Orange UK they will hold it back until they have added all their bloatware, which I want shot of
Cheers for looking, and for helping
With any luck there will be a hardware method to unlock the bootloader on these like there was on the 2011 range. But currently I don't think anyone has figured it out yet. Certainly don't envy you waiting for Orange to roll out the update with all their junk installed.
There's no rooting method for GB nor for ICS as of now.
if you want ICS, use flashtool and flash any of the available firmwares to your phone (generic one), then you don't have to wait and you'll only get Sony's bloatware, some of them can be removed without rooting. If you flash the original images, you don't have to have root or unlocked bootloader, it works just fine.
Right...
I had the exact same issue as you...
The phone is from CPW so not a phone direct from orange but the Bootloader unlockable status was set to 'No'
I then flashed from GB .67 to .73 and it had somehow changed the bootloader status to 'Yes' and I was able to unlock it...
The phone was rooted the same day and now on ICS rooted too!
Here is the (albeit vague) thread on the subject...

thanks man I'll have a look. Have this really annoying issue, I'm on .75 so will need to flash back to .73 to see if it works.
DAMN I HATE ORANGE UK for doing this! Why? You buy a phone, yet don't get the full functionality out of it you want when they mess about with it

On Spain last may we bought lot of Xperia U from the same carrier, all of them with locked BL, somehow we managed to complain about it and the solution they gave us was first you need the phone with simlock removed, so you can use the phone with any company, after that the SAT from sony will get the phone for about a week, you have to send it, they take care of the fees and they unlock the bootloader.
Make sure your phone is simlock free, and try to contact sony about allow the BL
enable fastboot with jinx
go to phoneunlockserver.com and talk to jinx and he can sim unlock it and enable fastboot so you can unlock the bootloader with official way.
no test point need, just normal usb cable and pressing one button.
"It's Here
Ok, anyone wanting sim unlock for the newer xperia's
Xperia S etc etc it is here for a limited time and afraid to say expensive.
This also includes phones produced after 12w14"
"Cost
The cost for this is at the current moment is £35.00 GBP This will be going up soon I hear. The reason for this is it takes 10 credits for the process"
"Sim and Fastboot
This unlock is for sim unlock and fastboot enabled. Customers can then unlock the bootloader the official way.
I do not know how long this will be up for and it is up between 8am - 8pm GMT+8 time zone"
I'm just waiting for ics to come out for my Xperia U and then i think i'm gonna do it with jinx.
it is right
Anyone has already test this methode?
As far as I'm aware SIM unlock doesn't enable you to unlock the bootloader.....

it's not only sim unlock, you are paing for both things: sim unlock and fastboot activation.
and then, with fastboot active you can go to sony site a get the code to unlock it (via fastboot)
jinx is send me a message that the servers are offline for unknown time, he was going to unlock my phone today, where can i check when is available????
I'm in the same situation! please jinx13 contact for more details !

Hmmm....did you guys pay for this service already without promise of results?
The whole process and such seems a little shady to me...I would have just waited til an exploit was found instead of coughing up 35 pounds on a whim.

Yes but when we contacted the SAT from Sony to remove the "unlock bootloader not allowed" from Xperia U/S they told us that we need to send the phone with simlock unlocked, they had no way to check if the phone have some permanence with the carrier beside simlock unlocked.

with this you don't send the phone to sony. it will allow you to enter fastboot and unlock the bootloader using sony website.

I had checked this already, my Rooting Status is not allowed hence this post
if you still need help contact me by PM, i'll be able to provide you an unlock code.

Unlocking the bootloader

..
Why do you think the bootloader is locked?
I believe the code that was being provided was for the carrier networkt and it was limited to certain carriers/countries. That's my understanding.
Are you trying to load a new/different rom? Are you able to get into fastboot? What happens when you try?
There are good instructions on loading recoveries and roms. What have you tried and what issues did you run into.
..
Ok. Just checking. I've never seen or heard that any mediapads have bootloader locked.
Something to watch out for if/when buyng mediapad.
I know c235b001 this version has locked
but, Android4.0,C232B005,General Channel
this version no locked.
i heard from my friend that service his mediapad to the service center because its drowned. it seems that the new "board" with different IMEI comes with new "locked" bootloader. and i think the solution is to flash it with old honeycomb or old ICS version. i dont know if it works or not but i think it will works.

I also have this problem - the device came with an unlocked bootloader, but the latest updates have locked it! To make things worse, Huawei has removed the older files from their site.
If anyone can share an older version of the firmware it would be much appreciated. I would be happy to be the guinea pig.

[Q] Bootloader allow unlock:NO

Hi Ladies & Mentalmen
I have just bought my Sony Xperia Z2 from O2 and the issue I have is that the bootloader in the hidden menu is set to Bootloader allow unlock:NO. I had my network unlocked by O2 to accept all sims and was successful, so can anyone please help me to have it to Bootloader allow unlock:YES?
I have tried flashtool & sony official website but cannot proceed due to this situation...I tried contacting sony UK and they mentioned that I should report back to O2 and when I see O2 they refer me back to Sony
So any help would be highly appreciated

Simply put: you can't change that. You're bootloader is locked. I'm on Vodafone UK and mine is the same.
I would like to try flash a loader.sin from an FTF from a known unlocked bootloader, though it might be pointless.
I do hope someone manages to unlock the bootloader for the unlockable bootloaders.
Flashing the loader.sin only works sometimes
I dont recomend trying unless you want to risk bricking your device

Okay so I'm in the same situation - is there any way to get the bootloader unlocked by Sony or by O2 (bought the phone used)
I don't know how it is on z2 and my xperia, but on some sony devices if you have my xperia activated you can't unlock bootloader
