Hi everyone, after I rooted my evo 3d Kddi (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158836).
Today, I will post how to make USB HOST MODE on phone.
That mean : you can connect many usb device : mouse, keyboard, usb stick........
NEEDS:
* ROOTED EVO 3D (S-OFF)
* OTG cable with POWER ADD (called OTG cable Y) : because device needs more power when active.
GO :
1. Backup your phone( i use CWM)
2. Download file attached.
3. Boot your phone into bootloader (fastboot usb)
4. In Pc, run Unlock_Bootloader_EVO : Type : fastboot flash boot boot.img
------------------ And Reboot.
5. Use root explorer change name bcm4329.ko into bcm4329bak.ko in your phone( /system/lib/module)
Then copy bcm4329.ko from file you download to /system/lib/module.
Reboot
6. Install OTG helper from market. ( if you want connect usb stick, click mount to recognize usb stick)
Connect OTG cable (remember : supply power line), test and tell me.
You should connect mouse first to test.

THANK YOU!!! First time I have gotten USB OTG working!!! The kernel I was using said it supported it.. but why didn't that one work? Was it the kernel or was it something to do with the bcm4329.ko file???

bcm4329.ko : will error wifi if you dont overwrite this file.
I also just tried flashing the latest ButteredToast kernel from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927837
and that worked fine, even WiFi! But there was a different version that I had tried MAC kernel 3.7 and OTG USB HOST did NOT work and NEITHER did WIFI So I guess I'll stick with Buttered Toast for now
The MAC kernel has usb OTG listed as a feature, But no one that I know that has tried it could get it working. I think it worked at one point, And they removed it, But left it in the "working features" list.
I definitely recommend buttered toast for OTG. Actually, I recommend it period.

Hi help me. :crying:
I have installed CM9 stable. My phone is work only with charger. I am sure that's not problem with USB port, because only usb mode works if i go in options -> storage -> usb connection if i change from mass storage to MTP or PTP several times when in phone appears on the notification bar information about connection. It is temporary fix until i reconnect it. I also tried in CWM recovery and nothing happens likewise fastboot or flashmode and it is the same, only led is lightening. Nothing help like restoring backup from recovery. It can be caused by OTG USB modules ? How can i back to stock rom ? (I tried PC Companion and SEUS). I think something is wrong with usb modules in the phone (not Windows or PC, etc.). It is a option to flash kernel or rom without using PC? What can i do with that ? Please help me
Install all drivers for all devices/modes from flashtool (installation folder) -> drivers. Then try again
Otherwise reinstall or update PC Companion or Sony Update Service, they install some drivers, too. Or you try another PC :good:
I'm sorry but it's impossible to flash a kernel without your PC...
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Android 4.2.2
Ok, thanks for the advice. I am gonna try this, but how i should install drivers if nothing appears in the device manager in PC. Only what i see it is a called like „sony sa0102 adb interface" and only if i switching between usb modes in phone settings. Maybe the issue is in the phone like i write earlier about this. The smartphone dont detect usb cable present or he doesnt switching a driver for the connecting. Thanks again for the reply.
Sure its not the problem of the cable?
Don't forget to hit thanks
It can't be problem with cable because very rarely works in while when i changing usb modes in settings phone. But, thanks i will try on another cable. My kernel is from CM9 stable in zip file, but on this kernel only will work CM9 or nothing else like ROMs based on the cyanogenmod for example CM10 or AOKP ? I, one day connect usb otg (host) cable to phone and charger. This cable had 2 inputs male but also i have converter usb (female-female). And only work mouse and the keyboard (without usb flash disks, drives, etc.). I would be grateful for the answer my question. Thanks.
Hi,
I've been trying to figure this out for almost a year. I got a cheap Chinese tab with a microusb and a microusb host port. If my rom and kernel have usb otg support, drivers etc. (according to the usb host diagnostics app) why would my usb keyboard and mouse (and usb storage) not work with a nonpowered or even through a powered usb hub? Is there something I'm missing? I've tried stock rom, official update and even a custom rom with usb drivers. So one app gives me S3C usb host missing...and usb host diagnostics says kernel and rom support it...there are drivers which I checked by a root browser. I've tried with nonpowered OTG as well as through a powered usb hub. Nothing works. What else should I have?
Thank you!
EDIT: Found something interesting. If I connect my usb port to power and my keyboard or mouse to the usb host port, then they are detected...but if I disconnect the other port from power they DON'T work. I tried using a powered usb hub on usb host port...does not detect. Is this a problem with usb modeswitch?
Hello,
I have a tablet with MT6580 MTK chip, and I have the original ROM (packed) files.
I need to change this ROM so the tablet charge at more than 500mA when connected to USB cable and if it's powered down it boot's up when the USB power is detected.
My USB power source is able to provide more than 2A, so there is no problem of damaging the source, I also need the tablet to keep the USB connection data enable.
Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks for any tip,

How to get my phone to recognize an attached flash drive. Currently tried a USB-C to USB 3.0 female connector to attach a 3.0 flash drive. System does not recognize the flash drive.
Never had this issue with a rooted phone but with the stock OS, just can not get it to work.
Tried OTG USB Managers and they report the system is fine for a flash drive to be seen. It has not worked
So please, will someone explain how I can get this thing to work.

The USB connector works as it should.l
My problem was that I have the phone attached to a ZeroLemon battery pack and as of yet, the exterior battery pack connector is the issue.
Have written to ZeroLmon to see if they have a fix for this or is just out of luck when trying to connect other than charging the phone.
