Galaxy S6 edge water damage - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
My S6 edge has water damage. The problem is that the phone only works while charging. Battery is replaced but problem exist. Could it be the charging connector or worse.. the mainboard is dammaged?
Thanks for help thinking

I'm sorry nobody has replied so far. Did you get the issue resolved?

Well. Looks like your device had a board damage. Try dissambly your mainboard and clean it with IPA alcohol. Find any rust or dirt. Best of luck.

Touchscreen response problem

I replaced the screen on my phone myself but somehow i lost the little flap that goes over the touchscreen connector, does anyone know where i could find a replacement piece for that? Or if there is something else i might be able to substitute for that?
Hi! I don't think that such small pieces are sold without connectors. I advice you to try some duct tape to fix that cable in socket. After assembling the phone cables won't get out from sockets.
alright i appreciate it, i wasnt sure if it was safe to try tape or not, thanks

Where is the water damage indicator on the Galaxy S II?

Greetings!
My S II is still running fine, but the weather in my place is pretty humid. I'm wondering if the S 2 has a water damage indicator for me to check?
Thanks!
This post over at AndroidForums suggests the sticker underneath the battery is a water indicator, and there are also moisture indicators inside the phone near where the headphone jack & usb sockets meet up with the "circuitry" of the phone.
This makes sense as these are the two most likely points where moisture would enter the phone in the first instance (except for maybe thru the speaker on the back of the phone, and maybe around/between the home/volume/power buttons).
Thank you!
I see two small dots. one near the headphone jack, another near the usb socket. Not sure if they are water damage indicator though.... If they are, how will they turn into when the phone is water damaged? Those two are currently in black

[Q] Friend Dropped onto His S3 , Now not charging?

yup face-palm he had his s3 in back pocket riding bicycle drunk home, fell off bike right on backside, phone taking most the impact.
the screen doesnt seem to be cracked just a small chip on the edge near camera.
he had it in a double sided leather padded case so we dunno how it got chipped
very small crack on body above usb port, but i think that crack is common.
the main point being the phone will now not switch on, is not charging or accessible via usb. no led nothing. button combo's do nothing. battery change no help
do you guys reckon it'll b worth replacing the usb port? or just a spares repo?
you can't replace the usb port unless you buy a motherboard, desolder one from there and solder it on your old one, which obviously doesn't make sense and won't work anyway, because the phone is clearly broken. The phone would switch on if the port was broken if there was any charge in the battery

well you can just buy the usb ports from part stores.
and yup i made another face-palm, its not the usb as a fully charged battery wont power it lol
im just gonna assume when he landed on it he just bent the motherboard and crushed something/many parts lol.
kinda strange he damaged the internal parts but not the screen.
he bought it like 6months ago so i doubt samsung or t-mobile will help eh.
oh well, what divv rides a bike with an s3 in theyre back pocket?

[Q] help battrey ribbon

Help took back off my hdc s6 clone to see what battery was in to see about changing it and a ribbon from the battery snappednot sure how you get to where it goes and can I get a replacement if needed
thanks
A ribbon? you mean like the connector 'cord' to your logic bord snapped?
yes basically its that have got the other end off now. But when looking at battreys they all seem different mine as a circuit board on the end with a longer ribbon and the port is side off the battery almost in the centre

Samsung s6 Edge g925I issues, incall mic/gyrometer not working, water damaged

Hey there all, about a month ago i dropped my phone into the river, ordered a replacement battery (because it was bulging out) and was able to recover my phone from water damage. Had to use isopropyl to clean all the board contacts, but i think i may have fried my mic and gyrometer parts. I was wondering if there were replacement parts for these or if there was another method to test if i need to reclean them again. Also have some charging issues after replacing my battery, so im wondering whether i should replace my usb charging flex port and whether i should also replace my antenna cable cause my signals a little bit worse than original. Cheers! I need to know if i replace the usb dock port, can i use other versions other than the g925i ie 925f etc, thanks
