I have tried the power + volume down and plug the usb into the pc and I get to the Modified recovery where you can go into safe mode or factory reset, etc. I have done it before but it was Kingo root that did it. It's not working because I can't get to usb debugging mode. I need to go back to stock. Thanks

If you are using the LGUP method, you do not need to even go into download mode. If you are on the Verizon bootlooped screen you should be able to flash it back to stock right then and there.
Also there is no real recovery method that you can use so you will have to wipe it completely clean unless you have backups.
LGup says phone 'unknown' so it won't work. It worked yesterday. Not sure what happened. Tried the battery pull method but it still doesn't work.

I had the same issue with my VS990. LGUP was not seeing the phone. Using the Recovery menu via power + volume down, I booted my phone into USB debugging mode. LGUP was then able to recognize my phone. I then chose the tot file, chose upgrade instead of refurbished, and clicked start. It auto restarted my phone into Download Mode and started the upgrade. If you can get the phone into USB debugging mode, you'll be set.

Plug a USB cable into your phone with your phone powered off, hold down on the Vol Up button and plug the USB cord into your computer. It should immediately boot into download mode. I have verified this works on my Verizon V10.

I just confirmed that works good job
Huh. I did mine from a regular boot up, but in debug mode. LGUP commanded it to reboot into DL mode for me.
Download mode on the LG V10 is achieved the same way all other recent LG smartphones have been. Power the device off completely by either the power menu or battery pull. Plug your USB cable into your computer. I didn't have an issue with USB 3.0. Hold Volume up and plug in the phone to the computer. Keep holding Volume up until the phone says download mode. It will do a small loading screen then it will change, this is normal. You can leave download mode by pulling out the battery or by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.

I think you might be doing it wrong...
Download Mode -> Hold volume up, and plug into usb while STILL holding volume up, release once in download mode
Reset Screen -> Hold volume down + power, then plug into usb whil holding down buttons, release when screens comes on.
Ok, now for my problems. I got my phone into DM, used LGUP to install VS99026A_00_0118.kdz on my VS990. I let it go overnight. Came back to see it failed at about 73%, Error "can't get laf property", ever since then I can't get back into DM again, my LG splash screen will come up, then I get the android guy saying "Erasing...", then it reboots to splash screen again, waits a sec, then turns off. I managed to get into the reset screen with vol dn + pwr + usb method, tried to go into safe mode, now I have same issue getting back to that screen too.
Any help?
my lg v10 stops at download mode screen and don't go furhter
I have a V10 stuck in the bootloop. I was able to get it to boot past the lg screen 1 time but it very quickly rebooted again and is still stuck. And when I try download mode using LG Bridge, my computer says "no phone connected" and my phone stays on the "Download Mode" black screen. How can I fix it?

but to use the tool, The device must be in fastboot/bootloader mode.
Now i am not able to get fastboot screen also. i tried number of key combination while powering on phone. but all time i get LG logo nothing else.
I deleted framework-res.apk by accident instead of replacing it. My phone became unresponsive so I took the battery out and put it back in and once it turned on it gets stuck at the booting logo. I cannot get it into download mode either. I pressed vol up+down and then plugged in the usb. I've also hard reset it pressing the vol + home + power button. I've tried every button combination suggested on the forums and none work. When it connects to my computer it is detected as an MTP and not software/usb. Is there anything I can do to replace the firmware with a stock version? Thank you very much.

I did this and the phone got into the S/W mode and my computer detects it in the drivers but none of the flashing programs recognize it. I tried using the LG support tool, KDZ flasher, and LGNPST. None of them detect the phone. The LG Support shows the phone in the beginning to show the model and drivers, but once I click update software it can't detect it anymore and crashes. Any advice on how to get stock firmware in this situation?
I think I just hard bricked my V10,
was trying to root it with tot file and something went wrong, it restarted,
Now I have bootloop on lg screen.
When entering download mode phone says following and reboots automatically.
Secure booting Error
Error code: 1009
MODIFIED!
So I basically can't access download mode.
Only input I have is, when connected to PC, during bootloop, before it restarts it's visible as COM device
I think i f#@#ked up real bad guys
Did you try master reset with the power and volume down button?
I need more information. What varient do you have and what tot did you try flashing? Did you try a factory reset?

When that happened to me after deleting some apps with Titanium (now I just freeze them ), I managed to install the TOT again with LGUP
Turn the phone on (I tried all ways, normal, reset, download mode, not sure which one worked), with LGUP running on the PC and USB cable connected, it worked after a few tries, good luck :good:
Try to get to recovery mode as follows:
Turn off your LG G4 (complete a full shut down process – press power key and select “power off” or press and hold power button for a few moments).
Then, press and hold Power and Volume Down buttons – don’t release the keys.
Keep pressing the buttons until the LG Logo is being displayed.
At that point release the buttons for about 1 second.
After that immediately press and hold Power and Volume Down keys pressed once more.
The recovery mode menu should be then displayed on your LG G4.
You can use Volume Up and Down buttons in order to scroll up and down and you can press Power key to select.
Choose “reboot system now” when you are ready to go back to Android OS.

It does go to recovery, but PC does not detect it. Also when I press to reset phone it give same error and reboot.

Thanks for advice, but I just can't keep it mounted to pc long enough for LGUP to detect.
Though, i'll try it nonethe less. I have short window before phone reboots, maybe it'll be enough
Thanks for answers

Leave the cable connected and LGUP on all the time while you try rebooting, and look at the PC to see if it recognized the phone, eventually mine connected
LGUP recognizes it but, says that it's an unknown device.
did you have same problems?

I dont remember exactely how it happened, did you try flashing to the unknown device
Also try after LGUP recognizes the phone unplug and plug USB cable...
The last alternative if it doesnt work is using LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL

Hey, the exact thing happened to me because of the same reason XD
Anyway, I was able to get into download mode and reflash it on the first attempt.
As for the unknown device problem, IIRC it's an issue of LGUP that can be solved via something involving removing the battery.
I got a D618 and it suddenly turned off and when I tried to turn it back on, it just bricked and keeps bootloop-ing. The phone is stuck on the LG logo and then the screen went off, then get back to the LG logo and suddenly the screen go off and so on.
Already tried Factory Reset but can't because of the LG logo-screen go off loop, also tried LG Tools but can't get into Recovery Mode.
Any help?
Have you tried pulling out the battery for a couple of seconds, then put it back and try the hard reset (aka factory reset) button combination?
To be honest that was the first thing I did.
I don't have TWRP as recovery, can't get into recovery mide either
How about download mode?

Can't either. When I tried to get into Download Mode the phone keeps doing the same, it's like the D618 keeps restarting once the LG logo appear
Do you have adb enabled on the device?
If not, then try this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/general/guide-unbrick-bricked-wrong-aboot-img-t3128896
Honestly, I have never seen a bootloop that affects all boot modes...
Are you sure you got the hard reset and the download mode key combinations right?
Hard reset: Press and hold Vol- and Power, once the screen comes on, release Power for half a second, then hold both of them for a few seconds, until you see the hard reset menu.
Download mode: Make sure you have LG's drivers installed. Hold the Vol+ button, plug a data-enabled USB to your PC and your phone, all while holding the Vol+ button. Keep holding it until the phone enters download mode.

It's been 3 days and still the same.
The phone was working all right, I didn't flash a new ROM.
Yes, I tried all key combinations. Tried the hard reset key combination, it shows me the Factory Reset confirmation message but once I set YES it enter the bootloop again. Also tried the Download Mode, but once I get into the phone just restart and go into bootloop.

It is probably not the battery, but mine just let the phone reboot when it gets a little hot. There is no problem with the voltage in normal use.
After an unsuccessful update, the phone was bricked. It cannot be turned on, but when is connected to the PC, the Qualcomm Port 9008 port become active.
Is it possible to unbrick the phone via Qualcomm EDL mode or any other way?
What? What do you mean it cannot be turned on? Even when breaking a samsung phone's firmware, "download mode" should still be active and working. In that case, you have to reflash a whole firmware again. Unfortunately, there's a chance that you will have to give up on your data.

I actually found a solution. I left the battery on the phone to be completely discharged. Then I pressed 3 buttons (volume (+), volume (-) , and power) and connect the computer via USB cable with the phone. The phone went into an emergency recovery mode. I tried to use Odin, but didn't work out. After pressing the power button (for 5 sec.) The phone restarts and the update started over.
Nevertheless, thank you.

Try entering download mode.
Power off your device.
Press and hold volume up and down buttons at the same time, then connect it to your PC while you still hold them. It will automatically enter download mode.
Flash firmware.
