Any idea how to update the PRL for the LG G3 sprint phone running Cyanogenmod 13? Also, does have anyone have experience with CM 13 when travelling abroad (roam globally on GSM networks)? Also, Sprint constantly changes towers and when I was running the stock ROM Lollipop I had to update PRL and profile frequently. Any help would be appreciated!
Only way that I know of is to make a backup of your cm13 rom and slap a stock rom on to update the prl then restore your backup

do you do an entire restore? or do exclude the efs part? will it keep the PRL after a full restore?

So I took a stab at CM 10.1.1 stable that came out yesterday. Gotta admit that it's smooth and I like it a lot, the only issue currently hitting me is crappy bars on reception (where normally on stock from AT&T I had full bars). I am going to guess here that maybe it's the PRL, and I need to update it somehow. What's the best way to go about it? So far I've seen suggestions that range all over the place and include having a TW rom to do it through. Is there any way to do it from inside my running CM 10.1.1?
not sure about it but i do the same and my phone become useless (no signal) since yesterday so need back to ODIN and stock ICS or GB and hope can save them if not ........................

I guess this isn't really a CM question but ANY custom rom question - how to update PRL when non-stock?
I don't think there is a way to update prl, because at&t does it automatically. Things like *228 are for Verizon or Sprint.
I really want to try cyanogenmod 11 now that I've put it on my dad's Galaxy S3, and it's amazing. Sadly, it appears to remove one vital thing - there doesn't seem to be any way of changing my PRL on cyanogenmod. I need to be able to change it on the go, because we all know that Sprint sucks in places. I just open up the PRL Helper app and change to Verizon or US Cellular. Is there any way at all to do this on cyanogenmod? It's the only thing still stopping me from flashing it. Thanks!
Nope.
Nandroid cyanogen rom and flash a tw rom and then do a prl update. Then restore cyanogen mod.
Maybe Odin flashing

[Q] "unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" after upgrade!
Okay, so bit of a background. I got this phone (LG G3 VS985) a couple days ago from a friend in U.S. (I live in Pakistan), it was functioning with the SIM networks here. It had Android 4.4.2 (VS98510B). Today, I plugged it in for the first time and it asked for upgrade, so I did. Now, the phone keeps crashing with the message ""unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped". When I take out the SIM, it works without any problem. It's upgraded to VS98523C (using the Verizon upgrade software).
Please help on what I should do to get my network working back again.
There have been reports that the radio code for 23c has been changed to limit LTE connectivity with carriers other than Verizon to H+ at best. This change might have happened even earlier, really, with the 12b radio, not sure.
I think your best bet is to restore the original 10b stock factory image of KitKat 4.4.2 using the TOT method and disable updates from there. You will find complete instructions in other threads here.
Verizon is pretty evil.

Thanks. I just searched for the TOT Method. Currently downloading the 10B firmware. Just curious, if I want to have Lollipop in my phone, what would be my best option? Without the connectivity problem, of course.

I am sorry, I don't know. I think you would need to use an earlier radio and flash a Lollipop-based ROM like Skydragon or Jasmine.
For now I am going to stay on stock KitKat, rooted and debloated with the last KitKat Skydragon kernel. I am very concerned about the official Lollipop OTA that Verizon seems to be starting to roll out on the 13th. Could get very ugly fast.

Ok so I have Paranoid Android 4.4.4 and I had upgraded to the most recent (I believe 5.1) and no matter what I did or straight talk did, I couldn't find a solution to get the data to work. I ended up having to downgrade back to 4.4.4 to get data to work. Has anyone had this issue with this phone and lollipop on Straight talk? The best I can figure is that straight talk doesn't support Android Lollipop..can anyone confirm this or post a fix to this problem? Thank you guys.
FYI
Before someone says use the search, I have already and googled for hours, there is a bunch of stuff on APN settings but nothing for my problem. Thanks again.

My son has a Verizon lg g2 on straightalk. He is running stock lollipop. He had a problem with data when he was on KitKat, rooted. Somehow his imei had gotten changed. Since I got the imei fixed his data problems have stopped. He's had no issues on lollipop, not rooted.

Well I'm rooted (obviously) and on kk 4.4.4 and no problems but with lollipop it just will not work. I've tried all sorts of APN settings and it just will not work..
Please someone help I'm dying to get on 5.1 and just can't do it if I'm not going to be able to use my data!!
Try flashing a LP modem/radio via recovery. Maybe PA doesn't include a radio so the phone is using the older KK radio and it might be causing incompatibility issues.

Just confirming - as far as I know, AOSP/CM-based ROMs NEVER include a radio/modem.

Hey everyone, I recently flash Ressurection Remix 6.0.1 onto my LS990. Everything works great, I have service, 3G works and everything else software wise is awesome. The only thing, I am not getting LTE (i have a registered sim card with sprint inside) and I am not able to perform any service/dialer codes: (##UPDATE#), (##SCRTN#), (##DATA#), etc. Since I am receiving service and my 3G works, I don't think its the EFS that is the problem? If anyone can guide me through a way to fix this? thanks so much in advance.

Thanks for the reply, so the best way to do this, would be make a nandroid backup, flash a stock rom, perform the prl update and then restore the backup? when i restore the backup, does that overwrite the PRL again? or should i exclude the EFS restoration so it keeps the one from the stock rom?
