I randomly decided to do a speed this morning while sitting in my car waiting to walk into work and I was quite surprised when I did. I was hitting between 43-50mbps downloads and 14-15mbps upload, I remember checking a couple of weeks ago and I was averaged 7mbps up and about 2mbps down. I checked sprints website and it seems I am in the new LTE plus service area, I am quite impressed since I have never hit the kind of numbers I hit this morning. I did another test once I got inside (I work in a old brick government building where I usually rely on WiFi ) and I was pulling 26mbps down and 14mbps up....amazing. Sprint is finally getting their **** together, I posted screenshots below
Yep it appears they are coming around, I pulled a 71 down 1 day last week myself. I haven't gotten it since but I've been getting consistent 40+.

West side of the lower Peninsula of Michigan.
Edit: in the last few days I've suddenly gotten great LTE at home, faster than my cable internet actually as its been consistently running around 32 down and 7 up. I only get 27-28 down on my cable though the ping is 3x as long on LTE. Still, it's impressive as for the past 3 years I had to manually switch to 3G when outside to stream music on my phone around my house because it was usable and the LTE was so weak it wasn't.
I deleted the screenshot already but I actually hit 62 down 17 up yesterday about 9am. I was absolutely floored.

Yesterday I bought an i717 rooted and installed every rom, ICS, GB, and tried every modem. Telus, Blaze, KID, VK1...set all the WCDMA 1700 only... and tried use HSPA only, *#*#4636#*#* and *#2263#...just give me a speed of download 0.5mb upload 0.03mb...what should I do???
Is it the phone defect??? hope any pro can help me.
I would get $20 paypal donate to him if someone fix my issue... first come first serve.
If you normally get speeds faster than that its most likely a phone defect.

try an app on the market called 3g/4g optimizer, saw about it on another thread. Helped me alot
I saw one guy here putting 2 pieces of aluminium foil and his phones speed increased
try it and see if it works on your phone!
also go to a different area and try your speed with speedtest.net

Straight Talk is the way to go, I have been using them for about 2 months (still have Verizon but wanted the Note). Straight Talk is unlimited everything (45 a month) and I have had no issues in WA State. I am running my note off the AT&T sim on their BYOD program and most custom Roms have me at HSPA+ or 3G depending on my location. My download speed has averaged out at 2.83 Mbps but certain locations like Seattle I pull 6.35 Mbps consistently, I have had bursts as high as 10 Mbps in various locations. I leave my Wifi on and when I am not flashing Roms like I am on Crack I store free Wifi everywhere I go so I am connected to AT&T hot spots and other Wifi that is free. I was very concerned coming from my Razr Maxx where I was getting 36 Mbps consistently but after 2 months I probably will not renew any of my other contracts with providers, this just works well and I buy to many phones. Some more answers to this question below.
My speed has never been capped but I have read online in various forums that Straight Talk drops you to 3G after 2Gb of HSPA+ use, but my speeds are consistent and I check everyday waiting to see if they will cap me.

So is there a straight talk store? Or do I have to order it online?
You order the sim card online ~$14. Then buy a refill card ~Target, Walmart.
Straight talk.com or what? And is there a store locally I can get the SIM card from?

No have to order online straight talk.com.
But I've been getting really slow speeds from them the last two months...they throttled me the first month on my atrix 2 and after that super slow(speed test.net app won't even work).
I think I'm gonna unlock and flash the blaze radio and use T-Mobile.

Straight Talk works very well for most people. I did receive a call from them my first month saying that I was using too much data right after I hit the 2 gig limit.
As others have said, the sim card is only available online, however they are getting ready to start a pilot program to allow them to be purchased in Walmart stores.
Another option might be T- Mobile. Walmart has a plan for $30 that gives you 100 minutes, unlimited texts, and unlimited 3g data(up to 5 gigs). You just have to flash a tmobile modem to have access to the 3g/4g

On straight talk you'll get at&t's marketing version of 4G which is really HSPA+ or slightly faster 3G. The only way to get the LTE is to be on an actual at&t plan and live in an LTE area.
My average speeds are anywhere from 2 to 6.5 Mbps where I live.

One piece of advice if you're contemplating going with Straight Talk. CS sucks, most users have come to a conclusion that under 100MB/day and 2GB/mo is the going rate. Go over any of the above, depending on the population on your general location, even under those numbers, if you're in the top 5% of users, they will throttle you, once throttled, you'd have to FB them or call their CS and be prepared to wait, one good thing is that I've read on howardforum that you'll get either a voice or text warning you of excessive use. If you continue to use excessively, you will not get any more warning, ST will shuts you off and lose your phone number. I've been using their service for about 2 months now and as long as we play by their rules, $45.00 + tax a month is pretty good. My download in Honolulu is a steady 3MPS and 900kbps uploads + or -, give a few. One other thing is prepaid, you have to refill before you run out, there's no grace period, best thing is AUTO REFILL.

Perhaps it's best to wait for T-Mobile note release and see if we get a more stable modem firmware out of it. Blaze modem is not the most stable one. I mean it is the most stable T-Mobile modem (for me) as far as tmobile modems for the note go, but it works best in weak signal areas, has poor connectivity in high signal area (weird, I know) and drains battery a lot faster even on wifi.
I wish I didn't have to order the SIM card online that's the only part that sucks.

Two AT&T notes side by side (west Chicago land)... one with a new Straight Talk SIM the other with contract AT&T LTE sim....
The ST note got just over 5 meg (4G) and the AT&T LTE note's Speedtest.net wouldn't complete :crying: unless the ST note was idle then it got just over 6 meg (LTE)
I'll have to see if the ST Note gets throttled.
Hi. Recently I have been experiencing extremely, painfully slow Internet over the last few days on three UK. Normally its fine but the last few weeks it has been really slow. The other problem I have is my internet signal usually disappears on a saturday and sunday during the day.
Only help is to contact your network or try a different network sim .

Switching from 02 I've noticed the speeds are slower. Using speed test I'd always be over 1mb with 02 but barely can get half a mb with 3. It doesn't really bothered me though because I only use it for streaming radio and browsing what is very snappy despite the slow connection.
Could you do a speed test using the speed test apply.
I got 102ping. 455kbps down. 587kbps up. Very odd my upload being faster than my download.

I now have to use pur home WiFi because 3G is always too slow to load. But seeming as I have a "all you can eat data plan" it seems pointless to use WiFi might as well use 3G since I have it

Hello,
I am coming from an iPhone 4S that was on the 3G market to the HTC One which is on the 4GLTE market. I currently have unlimited data.
However, since I received my HTC One, I have only had 2 or 3 bars. My D/L speed is around 2Mbps and my U/L speed is lucky to reach 1Mbps.
Has anyone else had similar issues? I am located in the DC/Baltimore area.

Could be that the network is extremely congested in the big city that you are in.
Make sure you have LTE enabled on your account. You MIGHT need a new SIM but I doubt it.

If you didn't swap out your SIM card that is your problem. Swap it out and make sure you are on the lte unlimited this should fix your problem.
Once AT&T gets LTE to our area, I'll let ya know It ends 55 miles south of me in Healdsburg. We have LTE here, but from Verizon, U.S. Cellular and Metro PCS. That said, I did get a chance to test it on our monthly Costco run to Santa Rosa, and maxed out at 46 down and 22 up.
At my home in Long Beach, I average 13d, 3-4u
At work in Compton, I average 23-30d, 10-15u - with the highest download being 41 (in Compton)
In Youngstown, Ohio, a small market between Cleveland & Pittsburgh, we just got LTE, but it's on limited towers. I have to go 2 streets down from my house to even get my phone to stay on LTE. Here are my speeds when on, though. Pretty good, Id say!

Hey everyone,
For some reason my GN3 isn't getting a 4G connection in my home or office, my GN2 gets a flawless connection.
I did all standard trouble shooting procedures with Sprint but no go.
I made sure the cdma/lte option was selected, turned off the connection optimization, reset the profiles and prl.
Sometimes the 4G will turn on, but it will disconnect quickly. Is my phone defective?
Thanks

I get some issues from time to time; In Seattle, Sprint has yet to officially announce 4G LTE coverage.
I'm lucky to get it where I live and frequent but from time to time it just doesn't seem to work, it will say I'm connected but has DNS errors, perhaps because the connection dropped or they're upgrading a tower... When my connection drops I try cycling Airplane Mode a few times and that usually lets me connect.

I have to cycle airplane mode to connect a lot of times as well. Does anyone know why LTE seems to be so much tougher to connect to than WiMax? On my S2 that I just upgraded from you could set the specific db that Wimax connected and disconnected at as well as the specifc interval that it would check for 4g. It connected to and stayed connected much more reliably than LTE does. I live in a well covered area, but there are certain points along my driving route where the 4g will drop to 3g. After that I notice that it is very hit and miss as far as deciding to reconnect to LTE, even though the coverage is superb. If I cycle airplane mode, it connects with a strong LTE signal. This is after setting the LTE timer and the buffer timer to 1. Does anyone have settings that make the phone try to connect more often?
Did anybody ever figure out why this is happening, i just picked up my n3 while i was in denver where there is no sprint 4g, but i noticed as soon as i got back to my house where my n2 always got 4g and my wifes icrap 5s gets 4g but not my n3?
Here are the settings I use. 4G almost always. connection optimizer is removed on my phone too. If you use something to create shortcuts to activities you can access the hidden menus without using the dialer. Easy prl change is nice but since 4G is new in my area I stay on the newest the phone grabs from network.

Yeah, I'm getting general LTE flakiness lately, when previously it was fine. I don't know if it's the phone or the network. I seemed to have better speeds with my kyocera torque and s4. I'm guessing it's network congestion. In some places with decent signal, it has slow connection to no. Pisses me off when it drops down to 3g. I'm thinking more people are upgrading old phones and hogging bandwidth. Ten months ago LTE was much faster.
You guys think this would work??
