Hi, this thread is only for those who don't already own the Google nexus 10! It is also only for those who live in a country in which the play store doesn't sell the nexus 10. For example, I'm from the Netherlands and Google does not sell the nexus 10 here. So I looked for an alternative and I found one. The site simply Electronics had the nexus 10 in stock for €420,- and with free delivery. But it didn't went well. Simply electronics comes with a big README, and I want to share that. This is my blog and warning for fans of wanted tech.
I ordered a nexus 10 at simply electronics and I want to share how I got my nexus 10. I did a lot of research before I ordered at simply electronics, and I did see a lot negative reviews. I also saw that simply electronics is located in Hong Kong. But all that didn’t scare me, because if you read them well, it turns out that only very impatient people were negative. They couldn’t wait 3 weeks or they didn’t read the delivery time was in WORKING days. All those impatient people cancelled their order and it went wrong from there. I’m not going to discuss those negative reviews about canceling your order, you can read them yourself. Here is how I got my nexus 10:
Monday March 11, 2013: I ordered a nexus 10, 16GB black from simply electronics. There were 10 in stock, and after I ordered one, there were only 9 in stock. I got some emails with order confirmation and everything so far went well. My nexus 10 would be delivered in 7 to 14 WORKING days. Yeah, first time I saw 1 to 2 weeks, but it’s of course 2 to 3 weeks.
Friday March 15, 2013: Today I got an email from customer service. I had to send personal information, a utility bill and a picture of my driver’s license or ID card. This would be used to check if I really live at the address that I used for my order. This mail scared the **** out of me, but I did send that information. I appreciate that simply electronics wants to be secure, but asking this information doesn’t give me a safe feeling at all. I could expect a reply in 24 hours.
24 hours and one minute later… I didn’t got an email, but, silly me, it was Saturday -_-
Monday March 18, 2013: I received an email around 9 in the morning and my information was correct. They could continue with my order. The status of the order at my account said that my order was in queue.
Wednesday march 20, 2013: Just checking (like every day, can’t wait), simply electronics has one 16GB nexus 10 in stock
Thursday march 21, 2013: Nexus 10 16 GB out of stock and my order status turned to: Your order is progressing. It is pending stock allocation or quality check before it goes out for delivery. Doubts go through my mind like crazy! Read the terms and conditions and it said indeed that simply electronics is located in Hong Kong. In the terms and conditions is also mentioned how canceling and returning works, doesn’t look easy.
Friday march 22, 2013: Order status changed: Order Awaiting Dispatch. Your order is pending courier dispatch. An email will be sent with the tracking details once it is shipped. I hope it is sent before the weekend.
Tuesday april 2, 2013: My girlfriend, who also ordered a google nexus 10 at simply electronics, became a little nervous. So I made a call to customer service why it took so long. waited 20 minutes on the phone and finally I got to speak with an american(who was actually in Hong Kong). He helped me just fine and all, but all he could do was to raise priority to high. I asked him why they didn’t change the promised delivery time to one month and he said all he could do was to make a note to the director. He told me that the order had some delay because my information was checked after the weekend and that it may be shipped friday, but it should be shipped before next tuesday.He just couldn’t see how long it is really going to take before dispatch. He also told me to save a screenshot or something like that from the date and time I signed for the delivery company that I received my order. This is important, because you need it when you want to use the one year warranty.
Tuesday April 8, 2014: no that's a joke, it's 2013. But it just feels like I've been waiting for a year. Still I didn't got an email with tracking details. So I made a call again. This time it's really crazy what they told me: at the quality check they found that the nexus 10 might be damaged. Then I asked about my girlfriend's order and it was the same story. The supplier got them nexus 10's, which might be damaged. Expected delivery date? Of course they wouldn't give me one. As soon as possible is what I hear for a month now.
Tuesday, April 16, called again, blablabla, expected dispatch date: early next week. Sight...
Monday, april 22, order checked: Packed: Your order is awaiting courier pick-up and will be dispatched today or latest next working day. FINALY
Wednesday, April 24, nexus 10 finally arrived
Conclusion: I’m happy with my nexus 10, but I’m not going to buy from simply electronics ever again. They are not honest enough. They let you die in doubt, because they never tell you what the status of your order really is. I don’t mind they are located in Hong Kong, but I do mind they not tell you. Why not tell if everyone already knows? It’s in the terms and conditions, but who will read those anyway? I also do not mind to wait a month for a delivery. But I need to know what is really happening. One tip for all the persons who already ordered and feel the same as me, DON’T cancel! Your order will probably arrive, it may take more time then you were told, but if you cancel your order you will probably never see your money again. And save a copy of the delivery date for your warranty.

my order status says stuck in a hurricane, hasn't even left it's country yet....
I've requested a refund through paypal, hopefully these clowns have money in their account paypal can retract.
update. what you'll notice is the first response from dsstyles and my reply back. amazing how this company is even standing on 2 legs right now.

I forgot to mention, I purchased it on 2nd september, more grace period than required to send goods to me. even by EMS/ROYAL MAIL/USPS.
also my order status says it hasn't even left the country yet. I believe the site/order status page to be falsified.

For the Note 3 case, as it is pre-ordered, we will usually ship out the order after 2-3 weeks after the official release of the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. All Note 3 cases have been arranged to ship out next week, could you please close the dispute so we can arrange shipment for your order next week?

I knew it took a long ass time for Samsung to ship the promotional stuff but this long? I received my phone and did this immediately. After my promotion was approved I was told it would ship in the week of October 1st. How does it go from the week of October 1st to that long?! Anyone else?

@cameronw2023 I received my phone on September 6th and immediately registered for promotional stuff. Received e-mail next day saying promotion was approved and it would ship within 2-3 weeks. So I was hoping to receive it not later than September 27th. A week later I got another e-mail saying it would be shipped week of September 27. When I pull it up on the Shop Samsung App it says Status: Review in Progress.
So how could I receive an e-mail saying approved with a shipping date, then a 2nd e-mail with a revised shipping date but yet the Samsung App says "Review in Progress".
Contacted Samsung US chat support was told that my promo was never approved and she had no idea why I had received e-mails stating approval and shipping dates. Asked for her Supervisor and chat pod immediately closed. Hmmm. Finally got back in chat pod queue and another chat support person said that I was approved but a mistake had been made and somebody in their warehouse had shipped out 256GB SD cards vice 128GB cards and that shipments had been temporarily suspended pending review of warehouse processes. He said that was probably what prompted 2nd e-mail with delay in shipment.
So 2 chats and two different answers. Not sure which is correct. Definitely appears that information is NOT being disseminated to all chat support personnel or else some are just failing to read the information.
Hopefully, Samsung gets their issues fixed and gets the promotional items out. I haven't bought a Samsung phone in a long while and while I like the Note 8 I am still not a fan of Samsung's customer support. I still call them the Helpless Desk. LOL.
You're luckier than I. I registered on release day too, but mine is still sitting on "Review in Progress".

Wtf. That's crazy you went through all that trouble. The note8 is actually my first Samsung device ever. I love it so much lol. Coming from apple I will say that they have excellent service when it comes to certain issues. Samsung lacks the more professional side of things. They make a damn good phone though. I'm hoping this **** will update and every gets the stuff they opted in for. It kinda sucks we have to wait months. I was on Reddit a few weeks back and saw a post from a guy who still didn't get his note7 stuff. I'm like surely that's an error on his end. Sadly it wasn't. I saw multiple people complaining about it. Either way good luck to you and everyone else!

When I did mine it was approved within 30 minutes. Did you provide all the required info? Maybe Samsung is just slacking right now. Hope it clears up for you

It said "Approved" shortly after I submitted it, but the status has been stuck on "in Progress" ever since. I submitted what I have in the past for Samsung promotions, so it SHOULD be right. I did go for the Gear 360 though, since I'm starting to accumulate a micro mountain of microSD cards, so maybe that's the catch.
Did mine on Saturday night got approved today said shipping the day of the 25th so let's see they pretty quick shipping stuff out cause whwn i did the note 5 promo it took about a month to get all the stuff from them so lets see
Submitted mine on 15th still says claim received.
Says in terms and conditions:
Participants will be sent an email and SMS to confirm that their Claim has been received by the Promoter. Within two (2) days of Claiming Participants will be sent an email and SMS to confirm whether their Claim has been successful and validated (“Claim Validation”)
Shipping Date too far away
I received an email from Samsung saying that my gift submission was approved and that the shipping date is "2017-11-27." That is really far away and late compared to other gifts I have redeemed from them

Samsung normally always says 6-8weeks for there promo gits. Normally you get them about 2weeks later.
Yes alot of use got the approved and est ship date of Oct 1 - 9th. Then it changed to 6-8weeks.
We just gotta wait for it to come. Nothing else we can do, it is a promo and this is pretty much normal for samsung.

Submitted mine yesterday, got the approval yesterday. But they quoted a 12/4/17 estimated ship date...
My claim for the 128GB card and wireless charging piece was approved 9/18/17. I got a notification the next day saying it was approved but it wouldn't ship until the week of 10/30/17. Is it typical for Samsung to take that long getting promo products out? I know somebody above said there was an error with shipping out the wrong cards so I guess my question is more generalized.
Anyone in UK had a Dex claim validated yet. Mine was submitted on 15th, still says claim received.
I submitted on 9/8/17 and it said October 7th at first but now it says ships in 6-8 weeks.

I never did get an email. The shopping app says 6 to 8 weeks, from day one. Registered on 9/8.
Got notice it was shipping, 2 hrs latter it was delivered! 10/2/17

Anybody get their promos yet? Original e-mail I got said it would ship in 2-3 weeks. So I should have received promo last week. Still no update on promo website or Shop Samsung app and customer service appears to be clueless at this point. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain as it is a "freebie".

My promo Gear 360 was back-ordered when I ordered my N8 on 9/15 but the camera just got delivered today!
I ordered directly from motorola at about 2am the night/morning of release. Excited it's coming so early!

Mine said it was scheduled for delivery tomorrow, but checking the tracking shows that the sender requested it be returned. So now I'm waiting to see what happened and why it got recalled.

Exact same thing here! I chatted with them, they called me and then transferred me twice, but ultimately told me someone would call me back tomorrow from a department that is closed for the day.
Mine is scheduled to be delivered by UPS on Tuesday 02/04. I have no intention of keeping it though. I have it listed on ebay.
Mine coming FedEx Tuesday AM this time, after they called backsies on the UPS shipment last week. Of course, I am now out of town...
UPS misrouted the return shipment so my original one that got shipped still hasn't made it back to the sender yet. Guess I'll be waiting another week to even see mine. Not sure why they bothered pulling it back, it was just a waste of time and money.
Out for delivery, delivered, and shipped to Florida. Friggin eBay made almost as much as I did.

So frustrating that they did this. Mine appeared to even be the same exact box from the original shipment that they pulled back and re-labeled only to deliver a few days later and have to pay for overnight FedEx after having already paid for UPS.

So I cancelled that order (goodbye Pixel Buds) and ordered from Google directly, who said that I'll get the phone on 11 Nov. ¿It's that true?

Mine was supposed to arrive on 9-10th November, and it actually arrived last Friday, so no, it's not accurate. At the beginning it was saying 29th-2nd November though.
Mine was about 4 days earlier than estimated.
I ordered two Pixel 6 256gb variants.
Google's original delivery estimate was delivery by October 28-29.
Then Google updated the delivery estimate to November 2-3.
Shipment is via onTrac and shows as "delivered" on their website - the package has not been delivered. OnTrac support says it has not been delivered, but is "on a vehicle out for delivery" - but they don't know when it will arrive.
I would gladly have paid more if Google had let me select UPS, FedEx, DHL, or even USPS rather than onTrac!!!
My estimate kept changing, but the last one was accurate . Right now I am waiting for FedEx to get their act together. It took a day for the 1st couple of miles, and today it spent a day on the delivery truck but wasn't delivered.
It's definitely a moving target ... But eventually gets there
