So I got a firmware update this morning and after that the device kept on rebooting and keeps on getting stuck at the s6 edge screen.
Unable to power off by holding the power button
I tried to hard reset with vol up + power + home, but it is stuck at the android screen(blue one)
Unable to boot in safe mode.
I got this one from amazon
I called samsung and found out that it is an australian version. I tried to download the firmware for the australian version and try to flash using odin but I keep on getting nand flash sw write error
I am not sure what I can do at this point. I am in the US on ATT
Suggestions welcome.
Can you get into download mode? If so id recommend you try to flash 6.0.1 G925i Bootloader and modem and custom recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-3-t3119968
Use odin and put bootloader in BL, Modem in CP and Custom recovery tar.md5 file in AP. Disable auto reboot. click start, once finished hard reset and go into custom recovery, connect phone to pc and transfer Rom accross, perform a factory reset and flash the rom and see how you go.

-G925i modem

Will doing this void the warranty or trip the know security stuff?
I'm not entirely sure if it will trip Knox, chances are it will if you mess with custom recovery and firmware, if you don't want to do that just find an official firmware off sammobile and flash through odin
Flash this through Odin : https://mega.nz/#!xxAnGQiY!20eNgxSDQ8RI3BkP_TGZJXcrqmr_sAskgdXNm1vR9k0
Use this Odin : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByE_x9ymhw7MU0Q2SHJ4VG5zT1U/view
Boot into Galaxy S6 recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power keys at the same time. Then start Odin and add rom to AP. Connect your phone and flash

That should give you the full working official untouched MM. If you need root follow the instructions here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65911276&postcount=1139
I did this myself and working perfectly (although I switched to Echoerom after )
I have a similar problem with a mates S6 Edge G925I. After bricking it to a certain extent, I managed to get download mode and recovery working on it again.
But I am now left with a device that will no matter what Sammobile downloaded firmware i use or custom rom I use, I can not get it to load into the O/S. When I do have some success it will lockup on the Android is Upgrading.... Optimizing Apps.... and that is where it will stay. Left it there for 3 days lol.
The only ROM I have managed to get to boot is the flaky CM13 S6 Edge Unofficial one.
If anyone has an EFS backup or a full Nandroid backup they would be willing to share that would be fantastic.
I live in Brisbane, Australia if anyone has it locally.
Please help lol
Did you do a full wipe in TWRP recovery before flashing a new stock rom? (advanced wipe, tick all boxes)
I had a similar problem with an S3 once. Had to manually wipe everything.

Yes I have also tried that, it stays on the new MM Android is Upgrading screen for days also.
One other thing I have noticed is that when it says installing system, it then says erasing. Thinking that is why it does not finish.

Might have to flash stock firmware including PIT file (which will redo the partition layout on the device)
Sounds like when you're flashing something doesn't get installed correctly. However that's a bit out of my league. Might be worth looking into.
Edit : sent you PM with link to some reading material
Good luck

All good,
I went and did it anyway. It failed the first time while flashing system.img and then odin would not recognise it in download mode. After a mild stroke, I installed smart switch and that made odin see it. It worked fine on the second flash.
I let it boot and then after (30 minutes) I made it to the android set-up, I rebooted to recovery and cleared cache and factory reset.
Works fine.

Well hello guys,
Being used to the flexibility of HTC ADB and fastboot commands for installing kernels i did something very stupid.
I just rooted, and tried to install XtreStoLite Pure Edition 1.0 on my Edge model SM-G925F. It would not work. So I thought it was the wrong Bootloader/Modem version.
Next thing I flashed the 2 files trough ODIN
Bootloader: XXU1AOE3
Modem: XXU1AOE3
Of course this Rom is not yet ready for the Edge model. Now I have a problem. The Phone keeps rebooting right after the boot logo. I already got some help and flashed the stock Firmware from Sammobile. The phone boots, goes to the samsung logo. The samsung Sound and then it reboots again.
Anyone has any idea?
Have you tried turning it off and on again? :grin
Kidding aside, go to recovery and wipe data and cache.

You need to flash an Edge kernel after you flashed the Rom, otherwise it won't work, since the both phones can't share the same kernel build

are you sure your new rom bootloader is higher than the old one?
Is your model no. correct?
i think you flashed wrong rom.
Find the correct rom for your device (if you don't remeber Old Build no., just find the latest rom)
flash to your device . (if it is Ok, you can go to recovery mode.)
In recovery mode , wipe & reset your cache, data.
Agree. Reflash the correct official ROM that includes the boot loader . .. If you can. My experience with latest official ROM has a Blind Download Mode (black screen) on the GT-i9200. Might be the same on the i9205.

So as the last resort go to download mode and reflash stock ROM. Be sure you flash your actual version of Android because you can not downgrade once you upgrade to 4.4.

Let's try, it costs nothing. The differences between regional versions of firmware are mainly in radio part - after flashing firmware from very different region unit should stand up normally, only then could be problem with data exchange or making calls. The rest should be normal.
It is hard to determine which version of firmware you have actually on your unit. Problem lays in bootloader - with upgrade to 4.4 the bootloader is changing to new one and there is no way back. So if you try to flash 4.2 after upgrade to 4.4 you can soft brick your phone.
IMHO safest way for you is to find and flash newest 4.4 firmware for your region. If there will be problems after flashing try to make factory reset from recovery. Best luck.

Thank you for this guide. It helped me figure out what to do.
Have a question. Is the Micky387_kernel_511.zip only for android 5.11?
I currently have 5.01. If I want to upgrade my N915F to Stock 5.11 so I need to install this kernel before or after I install the OEM ROM?
Thank you.
Thats all basic:
Download Stock FW
Download latest ODIN 3.10.7
Download latest TWRP Recovery
Download Mickis 5.1.1 Kernel (if you need Root)
use ODIN to Install the Stock 5.1.1 FW
use Odin to instal TWRP
Flash Kernel with TWRP

Now you don't need to flash a 'permissive' firmware in step 6 (you can flash flash the zip of the new SuperSU 2.6x after reboot into TWRP/CWM recovery to get root).
You can also try to remove/de-active KNOX software flashing the file KNOX-FREE_TEKHD.zip By @TEKHD (at the same time than SuperSU 2.6x if you want) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347792751
I hope this help you with this and other security warning messages
help me
It does not work on sm- n915fy with stock 5.1.1 . The flash recovery with odin is successful but when I turn on mode ' recovery comes out the message (in update system) and I still have the stock recovery
When using odin to flash recovery, untick the AUTOREBOOT option. When done, after pass appear, just remove the phone from cable and remove battery. Put it back to phone and reboot recovery. It worked for me...

Yes, when you flash a costum kernel you will lost Root. After flashing Micky's Kernel just flash the root again, and you have root again. It's not possible to reset ur Knox when you flash costum stuffs.. Simply just flash this attachment.
Hi
Can I use this method to root my Samsung n915f
My phone is running on android 6.0.1
Should we use stock rom or any custom rom which contains kernel?

finally my note edge N915FY is rooted ... thanks man :good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good::good:
if you do exactly what he said you get the root ..... 1 flash CMW through odin , when it finishes and make restart to your phone you have to press vol up and the home key ( BEFORE IT OPENS , IF IT OPENS YOU WONT HAVE CMW ) .. then flash the SU and afterthat you go back to the cmw home screen and make wipe cach ... and in the end you flash MICKY KERNEL .....

Is this works on the Stock 6.0.1 Rom
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, installed TWRP & tried to install SuperSU 2.79 and it got stuck on creating image, so I rebooted my phone and it didn't boot.
At this point i could only access TWRP and Donwload mode, I got worried and decided to flash stock recovery via ODIN but I think i forgot to uncheck auto-reboot box (Don't know if this step could cause the problem but I think they are related), and I know it's trying to open recovery mode because when I flash TWRP again, some red letters appear on the top-left corner of the screen, same as when I opened TWRP custom recovery, so at the moment I can only open Download mode.
The things I've tried:
ADB reboot recovery: It won't recognise the device anymore
Flash Stock Firmware/Recovery: After sboot.bin it fails (I have the Firmware for my specific model and region)
Also, I'm new to the forums stuff so forgive me if I do something wrong
I hope someone could help me,as I've searched all over the internet and found close to nothing about this thread

Flash stock firmware it will work.
The reason it fails at sboot.bin is because your flashing a firmware with an older bootloader than you currently have.
Flash a newer/newest firmware and it will work.

When I last checked my Android versión was 7.0 and I think that was the last update the galaxy s6 had, but if you can tell me where can I get a newer firmware that would be great, also thanks for the help you have given me until now.

Hi i was wondering if there is a way i would be able to find out information about my device such as the bootloader id so i can find the correct stock rom for my boot looped samsung s6 edge. Is there a way to view crash/bug reports i have sent to google play previously as they normally hold that type of info

No need to twrp
Just go to stock recovery mode and wipe cache partition and wipe cache/reset factory
Do both
Last night my friend has same problem as you
It solved

1-Did you flashed stock rom via Odin?(G925A)
2-Did it passed?
3-Did you use latest Odin?

No it's a G925F.
1.Yes i used odin to try and flash stock rom but it failed.
2. No
3. Yes i used the latest and a few other versions that people said worked best but had no luck with any 9f them
Can flashing your phone take up more storage on your device because i have tried around 3 different roms and know i didn't have much storage left so could this be why odin will no longer flash?
I'm just wondering if there is a way to find the phones baseband version so i can get the correct stock rom
