Next time, put your questions in the Q&A section.
To root your phone: Get flashtool, it will help you with just about everything you want to do. If you need to unlock the bootloader too, get S1Tool too, it will help you check to see if that is safe.
(just search the forums, you'll find it)
Thanks very much...excuse me i supposed post in q&a...
Please can you describe better the operation and give me the links for the programs?
For me is not easy to read english...so please give me a shortcut...thanks
im not giving you everything but we have a search function.
try searching for the following as what SmG67 suggested.
1. flashtool
2. s1tool
im pretty sure youll be happy you did it yourself

Dude, i had the same problems and questions. Now, a week later, i got my X succsessfully flashed to AOKP 4.1. A great software, really. It takes out the google off android and leaves pure satisfaction.
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-desire-x
Everything You need to know is there. Learning isn`t illegal... yet. And the joy having the phone fixed by yourself... get the picture?

[Q] Reading several posts about lollipop I need some guidance please

I have been reading posts after posts, the more I read about them, the more confused I got, so I will ask if someone could help me with this. I have SCH-I545, 4.4.2 I545VRVFNK1. I have lot of customization on my phone I would like to keep root when I upgrade to Lollipop and not to lose any of my apps or customization. I read that if you do not do some "magic" before the lollipop, you are out of luck. I believe there are two major posts about upgrade without losing root, not sure if these are old posts, if they still work and etc. I'm also so confused about all these terminologies, like towelroot, Odin and others. The authors or individual normally give a quick description of the tool but nothing in details on what they do and why we do it without reading posts after posts.
Thank you to everyone that makes all this happens, without you guys there will be no fun. I sincerely appreciated any help.

That just worked for me. I had no problem doing a clean install, but it sounds like you want to keep your settings. Perhaps look around that thread and you'll find your answers.

I used the same method and it's been rock solid.
I doubt you could keep the customizations, like xposed frame work is still not supported in OC1.
I would back up sms and move on to doing a fresh install.
I appreciated your responses, thank you.

I found an external post with instructions on rooting it with Root Genius.
Assuming it will work and it won't brick my phone, what would be the following steps?

I tried already so much, but it just won't work.
So please help me and just tell me if it's possible or not, if so, I hope I figure it out by myself.
Thank you!
