Hi all,
I purchased the 5x from vmall, I live in Italy.
A few hours after I started receiving spam calls, this never happened to me before.
I am worried either vmall or worse, the phone itself, is giving away my number.
Has anybody else experienced this?
Thanks
Joseph

Hello,
I upgraded my T-Mobile USA to latest ROM and radio and somehow according to T-Mobile website I recieved like 500 incoming SMS messages which never appears on my phone but still billed on my account.
All of them are coming from some weird 4 digit number 3213 or 3208 according to T-Mobile website. I'm completely puzzled what is happening.
Anybody has any ideas?
G
P.S. I already called T-Mobile and they told me that they are going to investigate within 2 weeks and did not give much explanation of what is happening.
- I've just checked my account...sorry, I'm not receiving any SMS messages on huge quantities that are not appearing on my phone.

Is there any way of hacking the phone to change the length of time before it send call to a voicemail? It seems to be falling in within 10 secs. Does it depend on a ringtone?
No, this is operator dependent.
**61*901*11*30# SND
this extends your ringtone to 30 seconds.
I am having this problem as well, I contacted my operator (vodafone uk) who instructed to do as the post above. I thought the problem has been solved until I met a friend who has just rang me, what is happening is that when someone rings my number they hear a ringing tone for the full 30 seconds but my phone only rings for the last 5 seconds, not giving me enough time to answer it. My friend stood beside me and rang my mobile to let me hear for myself what was happening. I have contacted vodafone again, but they cannot resolve the problem, in fact they did not seem very helpful as they said that they could not support the HTC Hero.
same problem
I am experiencing the same, very annoying problem.
I am with T-Mobile, I'll call them tomorrow to see if they have an answer.
I'll also try the code to see if it makes a difference on my phone.
I'll post the result here.

Thanks, this worked for me.
thanks guys for the solution, I thought I was on my own with this one. BTW, I did contact HTC support and they were very UNsupportive, shame.
I've loaded the code on my mobile, but testing will have to wait till the morning, as I have a sleeping gf next to me
Different solution
I tried **61*901*11*30# with success
I still spoke to T-Mobile technical and they gave me this code **61*447953642175**25#
This worked perfectly too
Hi All,
Recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Gumtree online. It was only working on o2 network so got at unblocked from a guy at a market stall so that it works on all network sims. It was working fine for about a week but then randomly came up with a message saying "emergency calls only" and I coulnt make or recieve calls or texts even if i changed the sim to o2. The internet was still functioning correctly however.
Called network provider and have been told that there is a bar on it by an insurance company. Tried to get back to the seller but have not been able to contact him. Have reported him but I would just like to know is there any way to unblock this phone at all? Dont want to lose out on all the money spent on it. would it be worth downloading any unblocking applications if the phone has a bar on it?
Please any ideas, comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Apologies for the long message
Thanks

This forum is for the SGH-I777 (AT&T version, four capacitive buttons at the bottom.)
You're in the UK and bought from the UK equivalent of Craigslist, so you likely have an I9100. This isn't the forum for you.
Either way, nothing anyone here can do to help you - we are all AT&T customers.
Not to mention, sounds like you bought a hot (stolen) phone. Only the carrier it was first connected to can unblock the IMEI and unless you can prove you bought it legitimately they are unlikely to do so. If the insurer already paid out on a claim then they will never do so. Buying from unknown sources is a bad idea.
So in short, sounds like the guy got scammed.

This is my first post, so I apologize if I forget anything. I did search for this question but couldn't find any threads related to this issue on this phone.
The short version: My phone sometimes doesn't respond to incoming calls. Outgoing calls work fine. I don't get missed call notifications and it takes hours to get voice mail notification. This is not a constant problem, if I reboot the problem goes away for a while. The length of time varies, but in less than a week, I'm back in this state.
The longer version: I got this phone at the end of November 2011. I started writing apps on it right away. I think it was in January that I first noticed that I was getting voice mails without missed calls. I went into the AT&T store and told them what I was seeing. They switched out the SIM card and told me to see if that fixed it. It didn't. I contacted AT&T tech support twice and they said they reset the notifications for my phone on their end. The problem persisted. A few days ago, I exchanged my phone for another unit. Now this unit is doing the same thing.
I have the smallest data plan, so I keep the packet data off most of the time.
I'm a software engineer working mainly in Windows Mobile, but seeing the popularity of Android, I wanted to get some experience in that, too. I've only been writing Android apps for a few months in my free time, so I don't have a lot of experience, but I can't imagine that the little apps I'm writing are causing this.
AT&T claims to have never heard of this before. How do I fix this? Please help me, XDA-Developers, you're my only hope.

Stock ROM
What other information can I provide?
Thanks!
Eric
You are not alone, m8.
It has happened to me all the time, I mean once in a while, never go away.
Since all call weren't really important, I just ignored.
Note: it happened on all of my phone from candy-bar style to flip-fone to smart phone.
Att is very likely screwing you. Don't trust those guys, they do lie...
For few months now, I am getting robocalls from spoofed number, classic case of neighbor spoofing. Has anyone figured out how to address it?
I usually do not answer the calls and have deactivated voice mailbox as well, but sometimes I expect phone calls where I am not aware of the number. At that moment, I don't know if I should answer the call or not.
For example, last week, I was expecting a call back from the doctor. They have multiple numbers in the practice and I don't any of those numbers. I have central number only. The doc tried calling me 5 times but I didn't answer the call because the number was not known to me. Finally, he sent me a mail on the portal and asked me to call back. So I did. I apologized profusely and luckily, he didn't mind as he is facing same issues.
I am trying to avoid such situation again.
Apps like Robokiller and similar haven't worked in my case. I have Pixel XL, fully updated, rooted but as many claim, I never get red screen on spam calls. I am using Hiya (free) too, but it isn't of much help either. I am on at&t MVNO Airvoice Wireless, if it makes any difference.
Thanks for all ideas in advance.
