Hi Guys,
Trying to install a 3rd party APK on my Marshmallowed S6 Edge (Non Rooted/Stock)
I get a deep scanning message and then - 'unable to scan ****.apk' and that's it!
Made sure that all my unknown install sources are ticked etc. Disabled Smart Manager.
any ideas?
Rich
corrupted apk file probably... or incomplete.... what is it you're trying to install
Not sure about that, seems ok

Trying to install this!
No problem with the apk. Just had it sent too and fine.
Anyone else any ideas
I'm getting the same issue. I've only had the phone a few days, it's a replacement for a faulty one (which I had installed the generic UK rom). This one is still running the stock carried ROM).
Apk installs flawlessly on the s6 edge 6.0.1 Car HD Rom

Hi everyone,
im having problems updating the build in Tunein 5.1 to the latest 7.1.
It works doing it via market oder apk but after a restart 5.1 is installed again by the system.
How the hell can i fix it...the old 5.1 must be somewhere & getting restored after every single restart...

I got a reply from archos support.
" our tech team is aware of the problem and is working on a solution"
Given how old is the problem I guess they are not really working on it. Can one of our dev champion look at it? Maybe it is as simple as a file set as readonly somewhere.
It looks like the newer tunein from either applibs 6.4 or from the market 7.1 is installed but it does not overwrite the original app. I guess archos did not install it at the right place. The solution would be to modify the shortcut on the dashboard and also in the clock application to the new apps. Or another solution move original apps to where the market apps is installed. I am not a tech so I'd do not know how .

Via "Apk share" I shared TuneIn Pro to my Archos Connect from Galaxy S2, it's installed and works.
No I've tried to do the same with new version of TuneIn Pro 7.3, it's not working. It's installed, run, but still 7.1 not 7.3.
So after fighting a long time with this crap device here is the solution for tunein:
Rename the new (7.4) Tunein to tunein.apk and copy it via Root Explorer (Or anoter Root-Filemanager) to /data/app.
After that change the permissions of tunein.apk so that there no write is possible (untick the write options in permissions after holding your finger on tunein.apk a long time).
With this it is impossible for this stupid Archos device to overwrite the tunein with the crappy old 5.1 Version.
Downside: You cant log into your tunein account. But at least you have a good working Tunein.
Hey all I got a question about OpenPDroid.
I've been messing with custom ROMs for awhile and recently started to test out OpenPDroid.
I started to use OpenPDroid on my Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9305) using CM10.1. Once CM10.1.3 came out I tried to use the Windows Autopatcher (ApG.2.6.0.2) to patch it but this failed. It threw out an error saying (error: failed android/provider/Settings$Secure.smali' in framework.jar cannot be remedied).
From there on I decided to try out the CM10.2 nightlies as the AutoPatcher now supports CM10.2 (Android 4.3 builds). Patching all went fine and it worked so I flashed the ZIP to my phone using CWM and all went fine. From that point I download Pdroid Manager from Google Play and started it. It recognized that it was flashed and I could set permissions using the app.
However (this is where it gets interesting) I got this app called "Facebook Messenger" installed and I deny its "Record Audio" privileges. Then I start up the app and try to see if I can send a voice message using Facebook Messenger. And guess what, it works.. it did indeed record the audio.
I also tried this on my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G (T679) and I had the exact same issue.
So right now I'm wondering am I doing something wrong or is something wrong with OpenPDroid?
Has anyone tried to sync a galaxy gear watch with the original galaxy note? I'd consider picking one up if I knew it would work.
I've searched and can only find people with S4's, Mega's, and Note 3's that report it working on.
Edit..... I received an galaxy gear for xmas. I got it to sync with the original note. I can receive calls and make them, music plays and changes tracks, weather doesn't work for me, Svoice doesn't work for me (yes it's installed on 4.1.2 touchwiz rooted rom), and this watch drains the battery like no other!!!! Probably because it requires bluetooth 4.0 otherwise known as Bluetooth Low Energy. The original note only has 3.0 and I'm guessing by me syncing with 4.0 it's like I'm talking on a bluetooth earpiece constantly.

How did you get your gear to work on your i717? I have gear manager 1.2 installed and can only get up to the SAMusicProvider APK and it won't let me install that. Gear won't sync through the gear manager. Did you have to root the gear first?

What rom are you trying to install gear manager on? I can install gear manager and sync on the stock 4.1.2. I can install Svoice and it works on the phone, but not the watch. I keep getting an "you need to agree to samsungs disclaimer on the device" error. I got the samsung apps ver 4.01.015.0 installed but it opens and doesn't connect to anything.
To install gear manager on the stock 4.1.2 release install this apk like any regular app. Notifications, Weather, Svoice, and some other features aren't working.
To install gear manager on custom roms it varies. Some require pushing gearmanagerstub.apk to system file, then installing gear manager ver 1.something I've been following a lot of the threads and some versions that work with a 4.3 rom don't work with a 4.4 rom and so forth. You can try some releases located here that Omniwolf and Brendo have been keeping up to date. If you get it up and running, let me know what rom, gearmanager version, and how so I can update the original post. If you can't get anything rolling, let me know what rom you're having difficulty with and I'll try over the weekend.

Here's what I did:
Followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2562997
One exception is that for step #1 to update the firmware follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539082
Then move on to Post #3 in the first thread mentioned and follow it on down.
Only thing I haven't been able to get working is Gear Manager. When I install the stub apk and then follow the instructions to extract the apk's from the gear manager install I get as far as Gear Manager telling me there is no backup and that it will reset the gear...which it does factory reset the rom.
I'm using the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518785 rom (P12).
All of this makes everything work flawlessly (battery/internet/etc) with the exception of notifications. For notifications I'm trying to get Gear Manager to work so that I can use ATN manager. Seems like the most battery friendly way.
I did find one other way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2597260 battery stats weren't definitive though at the time. Edit: Unreliable notifications so far.
Edit again: Nope - notifications actually work very well after rebooting both devices. Now just to figure out how to access notification history.

[/COLOR]Oh - I got the idea to extract the APK's for Gear Manager in KitKat (4.4.2) here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596455
Got me farther than before but not far enough to get Gear Manager working.
Hi all.
When I unlock the device, there is only a beautifull black screen because I uninstaled some default amazon stuff(I thought it was not so important files).
The kindle fire is already rooted and safestrap is already working, but I couldn't make any custom rom work yet. I gess is due stock firmware version. Gapps are working too. I tried unsuccesfuly via google play to install something.
As solutions I thought about sideload (I don't know exactly what) or solve this by making start settings on startup to reinstall the default firmware.,or renaming general settings file instead the locksreen one. Even including this into "recent content" may fix it.
I don't know if there is a better solution, or how to make this.
Thank you for your help.
I'm trying to upgrade my Samsung p7510 10.1 tablet from Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 to either Marshmallow or Nougat, or better. I've installed TWRP 3.1.1 and rooted with SuperSu. I've had to assume root has worked as can't download root checker onto my tablet.
So, far I've managed to find a version of Marshmallow "ROM-STOCK_MMB29K-seed.zip" on androidfilehost.com. But when I try installing I keep getting error message "Updater process ended with signal: 4". I've wiped the Data, cleared the Cache and Dalvik Cache. Also searched the internet for info on the signal 4 problem but not found much other than to remove the "assert" line from the updater-script file in the OS zip.; that did nothing.
So, a few questions:
- Anyone know where I can get OS zips from for a Samsung P7510?
- And any ideas on resolving the signal 4 issue?
- Any other ideas?
P.S. The only reason I'm updating is I want to use it for Kindle but can only reach HTTP sites, not HTTPS. Assumed that is because it's so old that everything is out of date. And that stops me from downloading anything from just about anywhere, including Google Play.
P.P.S I have searched the forums but couldn't find anything helpful or with links that worked.
Thanks in anticipation
Might I suggest the stabelest ROM I've ever run on my P7510. I've had this installed on mine for over a year now. There are of course some minor bugs.
The signal 4 issue is most likely a Binary issue and should no longer be relevant since you should reset the device to factory and start over. Another thing is once you Root it you can't download from Google play because you now have an unverified device, it has something to do with Google Pay. You'll want to look for APKs. Although SuperSu is usable, you're going to want Majisk insted. I hear of some problems using SuperSu.
I have these files here in my PC if any of the links no longer work but you'll want to know how to flash it so you'll need the video. I'll check back soon and drop a link to my files. if you need them. I'd need to upload them to my Google Drive first.
If you have any other difficulties I'm usually here about once every week.
P.S. Your tab is better than a Kindle and I would not suggest using it as such, it runs pretty crappy that way . Amazon does have an app you can use. And I see that you have been having difficulties finding Operating Systems for your tab and yes it's because the P7510 first hit the market in March of 2011 there aren't many people doing much with it anymore. There's about 3 or 4 of us left.
Firstly, thanks for your help @Casper Young .
In particular the video was brilliant. I did have a few runs at the update, however, the process was very straightforward. The key issue was the TWRP version I was using. It was supposed to be for the P7510, but realised it was actually for the P7500, consequently the aosp files weren't loading. I think that was also the cause of the errors I was getting. And although none of the links were working I managed to get the file names from the video and sourced them from androidfilehost.com:
twrp2870-20150814-p4wifi.tar.md5
aosp-7.1-p4wifi-20170506.zip
Once I had those it was simple and the update worked smoothly.
I've also added the app from apkpure.com as Google play was a complete pain trying to get the tablet recognised. Now very pleased with the build and apps, all running very smooth.
thanks again
Glad you had no problems. There are some minor bugs. Flash doesn't work for the camera. And check your memory capacity. I use Apex Launcher for my home screen which organizes better for me.
