[ROOT][D605][4.4.2] Stock KitKat V20H permanent root method. - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Hey guys,
Just wanted to let you know that I've found a way to permanently root the latest stock KitKat ROM for our LG L9 II (D605).
Here's what I did:
Starting with fresh KDZ install of v20h (no cwm or other things necessary), you need to be on Dalvik (default). (It should work up to v20h, not just on v20h btw.)
Two important steps before proceeding: Settings/Security -> Enable 'Unkown Sources' and Disable 'Verify Apps'!
1) Download and install KingRoot, use it to root the phone (might restart, after it boots, just start the app again). Make sure you're on WiFi while running Kingroot.
2) Download and install SuperSU Me Free app, use it to delete KingUser and switch to SuperSu. Make sure to give the app root permissions.
At this point you're fully rooted with working SuperSU, although you will lose it at restart. If you just need 'temproot' to delete some stuff, go ahead, you're done.
To finalize root:
3) Put this file to the '/cache' folder. Root is required to do this step. Do it with Total Commander or some other file manager app (give it root permissions).
4) Download and install Reini Reboot from Play Store. Start the app, give it root permissions. Click 'Restart to Recovery'. Phone restarts.
5) Welcome to your stock system recovery. (Go up or down with volume keys and select with power key.)
Navigate to 'Apply update from cache', where you will find the root_v2b.zip file you put there. Click on it, it installs, then select 'reboot system now'.
You are now fully rooted, that's permanent.
(Might have to update the SU binary right after, and another time after you update SuperSU in Play Store.)
Feel free to hit 'thanks' if it helped.

Hi!
I just wanna say thanks for this easy described method of rooting my beloved LG Optimus L9 II. I tried this method about 30 minutes ago and so far so good. I appreciate your easy description of going about this method and I also appreciate that you either attached or linked all the tools that you need for this rooting. I hope that more people discoveres this method. I do hope that you know how much I really appreciate this. A BIG thanks from me!

i have cmw recovery, no Apply update from cache option. Any solution?

Yes. Do this after step 2)
3) Download this file and put in on your phone (anywhere).
4) Enter CWM and flash the root_v2b.zip file with CWM.

Thanks, it works like a charm. Point 4 can be done by just using "adb reboot recovery" though.

Work on v20g?

Thanks for the feedback. It's easier (noob-proof) this way though. But you're right
@Famenz: I think it should work up to v20H, but feel free to try.

D60520d-260-06 - OK
It worked for D60520d-260-06, brand Play.
I am using an older version of KingRoot-4.0.0.233-release-201505071219_105001.apk

Installing the application does not require resetting the device.

root_v2b.zip is not compatible with V20H, gives me "E:footer is wrong" and cancels

Some questions.
- Why supersu me doesnt keep the root ?
- Can't I skip the step 2 and install supersume at the end ?
- Cant we just spy what method king root uses to root and make a root for us ?
- I havent tryed framaroot casue its too wierd that it ask for photocamera access permission... does it work ?
P.S. I just noticed that kingroot could be chinese ? (I see asian chars) And you know that chinese puts spyware everywhere !
(Ok, android it self is a spyware)
P.P.S. King root and framaroot doesnt work for me ! ( vodafone 20g )

You probably haven't noticed this, but the D605 has been abandoned way before even the P71x, and that was kept alive up until somewhere in 2016. It's quite safe to assume your questions will probably never find answers here.
About the spywhere, every piece of electronics is spying on you. If you want privacy, go live in the mountains.

literally there's no file to put on the phone because media fire is gone...

Does anybody knows how to root leagoo lead 2?

Hi people, anyone know how to root leagoo lead 2? This phone uses MTK6582 chipset, rom version is 4.4.2. I tryed root with root genius but it failed, it said that my phone is too tough to root (sorry bad english)
good question
im also looking to root my lead 2 usual tools dont seem to do the trick
Rooting is actually the first and easiest step to begin your journey on android developing, if you can't root, you won't succeed in android development. Don't worry, I will help you with root.
To root your device, I highly recommend Kongo android root(PC), it not only covers a really great amount of device, but is also able to unroot your device, all it takes is just a click after you plugged your device into the PC. Or if you don't want to use the PC, you can install an app that will help. It is called vroot, it is Chinese, so it might be a little hard for you to understand.
Kongo is not working. Stucks at waiting for device. waited about 1 hour and still stucked.
Re
Hi, try KingRoot works for me its chinese app.you can download from website kingroot.net place apk file on your Phone and install then you can root your device very easy
Thanks for the help. APK worked very well .
Is it safe to use this chinese root app
Chrome was warning about a "Possible Dangerous Download File", but I still downloaded it and scanned for viruses.
This is the APK virus scan report : apkscan (dot) nviso (dot) be/report/show/c4340bc2d1322e514e025430dc9c5d7c
I'm not an expert but i recon the antivirus picked it up only because there is lots of low level scripts that root your device i guess (cmdline files?)... and the hard-coded URL's listed in the scan point to few sites: Android.com , QQ.com, kingroot.net, ibutian.com, and non of them seem to be a malware websites.
Anyway let me know if it's all-right to use this APK and root my Leagoo Lead 2
You can use that apk. its safe and worked for me very well.
Tested now with kingroot but unable to root it.
Seems that last OTA update is the problem
Any other suggestion?
EASY DONE
Kingo root - DOESNT WORK forget it!
VROOT dont work - Forget it.
Sat back and had a think and BOOM
went to leagoo website downloaded the new V10 rom listed there.
Unzipped file, Flashed rom to phone first, only cause i wanted to update new device.
After flashing, UNPLUGGED PHONE used MTKDroid tools to flash cmw, (open droidtools, DONT PLUG PHONE IN) and go to root/backup/recovery and choose boot file, it asks to "create cmw automatically" say yes, VIOLA droidtools makes the recovery.
Then used SPFLASHTOOLS to flash cmw recovery - works great.
As i have been playing with MIUI and an Elephone P2000 had the file - UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip
cant do links, so search in google "download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip" and first link is the winner
booted into recovery, flashed it and have root, easy peasy

How does one get root again once upgraded to 5.1?

Hello! I've upgraded to 5.1 and have lost my root. I have tried using kingo and towelroot but neither have worked. I have tried downgrading to 4.3 re-rooting and then upgrading to 5.1 only to lose root again. Any help as to fix this would be awesome and highly appreciated!
Use TWRP

You can flash twrp to root, then install superusersu. There's a zip file that's been posted in the forums recently by ArkAngel 06 that has everything you should need and a step by step guide to do it. Hope this helps
This question has been asked and answered. Do you guys read the other threads at all?
To get root and TWRP.
Credit to Foltz61.
1. Boot to bootloader.
2. Fastboot boot TWRP-L.img
3. Install supersu-2.49.zip (even though I didn't lose root)
4. Reboot back to system.
5. Reboot back to bootloader.
6. fastboot flash recovery TWRP-L.img.
7. fastboot reboot.
8. Boot to recovery and had TWRP
Thanks
Thank you both for your help! I saw this posted in the other threads but there's been a lot of activity since the release of 5.1 and it was all getting confusing
to get su 2.49 .zip do a Google search u will find it after twrp just flash su 2.49.zip and ur all set .
I tried n its working fine
Would be best at this time to not flash twrp. Instead fastboot boot twrp.img then install the beta.SuperSU v2.49.

If your Bootloader is still unlocked, skip to step 5
UNLOCKING YOUR BOOTLOADER
1) Request your 16 digit Bootloader Unlock Code from [email protected] (you'll need to give them your phone's IMEI and SERIAL numbers)
2) Download the HW-QmOneKeyTool to your PC from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/um5sqbwp094r2x4/HW-QmOneKeyTool.rar
3) Connect your phone to your PC, open the HW-QmOneKeyTool and enter your 16 digit unlock code into the text box in the first tab of that tool, then click 'ROOT' {This button should actually read 'UNLOCK'}
4) Now that your phone's Bootloader is unlocked, flash TWRP as follows:
INSTALLING TWRP
4a) Download TWRP Recovery from the following site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/asc.../2014-09-22-teamwin-recovery-project-t2885144
4b) Rename TWRP_MT2-L03_RECOVERY.img to TWRP.img
4c) Move TWRP.img to hard drive C, folder: adb
4d) Connect you phone to your PC, open Command Prompt and type: cd C:\adb
4e) After the adb prompt, type: adb devices
4f) With your device serial showing in the Command Prompt, type: fastboot flash recovery c:\adb\TWRP.img
4g) The Command Prompt should now say "waiting for device"
4h) Unplug your phone and reboot into bootloader (power + volume down)
4i) Once in the bootloader make sure it says unlocked then plug your phone in.
4j) The command prompt should say done after 2 seconds and your phone will stay the same.
4k) Unplug your phone and reboot.
INSTALLING SUPERUSER
5) Download BETA-SuperSU-v2.49 to your root: http://download.chainfire.eu/740/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip
6) Boot into TWRP and Flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.49
7) download the TWRP App from Google Play, and let it install BusyBox, then run the SD fix if needed
7) Now you can grant Superuser status to Apps that need root
Is there a backup of the mt02 emui 3.1 boot loader before I go to the twrp?

Step 7 is required if you don't have an SD card issue?
For anyone that knows, if you root your device, will this cause issues getting OTA updates from Huawei? I registered my IMEI after converting to OEM and loading Lollipop so I would like to ensure I get these updates and can install without issue.

Trying to figure out if root causes an issue with OTA updates I believe is a valid question. Thanks for nothing though Moody. You're awesome. :good:

Well, your simple one worded response was misinterpreted. How about that...
And yes, it does effect OTA. I just received B20 and it clearly said to make sure your phone was NOT rooted before upgrading, so obviously it causes an issue with the OTA updates.
Root does not affect OTA. Only if you change system files. Stock recovery and stock system files will not. At worst you will loose root and have to reroot.
---------- Post added at 02:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:14 PM ----------
does root affect OTA....type that into Google. Thousands of posts will tell you the same thing.
Was simply reporting what the update to B20 said. It stated ensure your device is NOT rooted before updating. Perhaps it is just them being careful and ensuring that bugs that may appear on a rooted device would be tougher to diagnose.
Personally I don't see a big need for root with no ROM's available for the HAM.
Because you can't make some changes without root. LCD etc.

Yeah, that's true, but to date, I have been pretty happy with the HAM stock. The LP update made this phone a whole new phone. The UI is very nice for an older phone with older specs. Coming from and LG G3 (yes, some would think the HAM is a downgrade), I love the HAM over the G3. The colors are amazing, the screen size is awesome and the new UI for LP is way better than stock LG.
Have a look at a G4. Shame they are expensive
Worth it. But expensive.

New to rooting, cant flash the firmware

Hi guys. Im not going to lie, im a noob when it comes to rooting, so I turned here to ask for help. Now, let me explain my whole issue. Lets start with, i cant unlock my bootloader. I also cant get into flash mode on flashtool which would allow me to downgrade, and and then root my phone from there. So yeah, I cant do anything honestly. I would love it if someone would be kind enough to help me with a step by step instruction guide, or even live assistance?. I already google'd for about 2-3 hours now, and can't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply!

Oh I also forgot to mention, just this morning I could root my phone with Kingo Root, but reading some negative stuff about it, I would still like to root it with the standard, old method of flashing etc, and I can't do some things I could on standard root.

Well, it's Xperia M2.
Let me clear that,
There are two types of Rooting methods available.
1. Permanent root
(Root access is available for ever, untill you unroot manually)
2. Temporary root
(Root access is gone, when you restart phone)
So, if you have successfully rooted your phone with Kingo Root, you no need to flash rooted kernel or firmware (its same with already root access available).
After rooting, you must have seen a app SuperSU or SuperUser or anyother that manages root permissions requested by apps that needs root (you need to grant permissions to let app work). If you do not see such any app, download it from play store.
I usually suggest Xperia users to root their devices with TowelRoot app. It is smart and simple and it does not contain any preloaded app for permissions (that means you can switch with SuperSU or Superuser)
Also, what things you could not do? let me know. I'll help you out

Again, thanks for the reply. Yup, I saw the SuperUser app, and the problems I have might not be phone breaking and such, but I would like to be able to do things like, change permissions of certain folders, which i cant do with the Kingo root, as it somehow denies the access to the folder, even tho I allowed root browser/es file manager root access. Overall, i think the problem is with the permission system Kingo has. I'd also like to mention that i would love to install Cyanogenmod on my device, but I will look into that myself @edit: Also, I would prefer to have a premanent root, instead of the towelroot and such.

You could just press the 'thumbs up' instead writing 'thanks' everytime.
Well, why do you want to change the permissions of the folders? You could mess-up your device if you change permissions for the root folders.
The problem looks strange. If you have rooted successfully and GRANTED permissions for ES file explorer through SuperUser, you should not get any problem changing permissions. Check in SuperUser app that you see ES file explorer.
Also try using other explorer app. I use 'Solid Explorer' and its great.
If you have temporarily rooted your device as I mentioned in above post, try using TowelRoot app for rooting your device permanently and manually download SuperSU.
If you want to use CyanogenMod (it'll be pre-rooted) you need to carry below steps;
1. Unlock your Bootloader
(Wipes everything)
2. Install recovery.
3. Take stock ROM backup.
4. Flash ROM.zip
5. Flash GApps (optional)
6. Wipe cache+dalvic+factory reset
7. Reboot

If your bootloader status says
'unlock bootloader allowed = NO'
Then you can't flash anything on your phone. Almost every ROM needs an unlocked bootloader. There will be some ROMs that can be flashed over locked bootloader but they will be stock based.
EDIT: You have a good Luck, you can flash recovery on Locked bootloader

If you flash recovery successfully, that means you can flash ROM

Yup, my bootloader says it can't be unlocked. Anyways, i tried the link yo usent me, but it comes up with an error, saying "device not found". I went into recovery mode on my phone, but i assume it might be the adb driver issue? I will try to reinstall it, and get back to you.

It can be a drivers issue. Install PC companion and connect your phone, let PCC install essential drivers and after that follow the same steps for installing recovery.
If you post any screenshot, that would be better.
Mkay, it worked now after i reinstalled the device in Sony PC companion. Heres a screenshot of what the CWM cmd window looks like: "prntscr DOT com/8fth1u". I assume this is good? So, all i have to do now is just download Cyanogen Mod and flash it, right?

Hate to rain on the parade, but CM and CM based roms don't work with locked bootloaders for that phone, despite having CWM. It should say in the title of the thread whether it'll work with locked bootloaders.

Yeah you are right! Purely CM doesn't work on locked bootloader. But there must be any ROM available that is based on CM or even other ROMs that has some CM features.
I went through a few threads in that forum, Omni, CM, PAC, etc and all mentioned needing unlocked bootloader. Best bet is a good stock rom and Xposed to enable other features.

Coolpad Y82-820 Help

Hi all!
I'm new here, so please instruct me if I'm doing anything wrong.
I have a Coolpad Y82-820. It's a Chinese phone, I think.
I'm in the process of getting it rooted. ---- Was rooted before, but an update on their side (to CoolUI V24. [phone model#]. 160407) removed the root and now makes it a bit difficult to root at the moment, though I'm sure it will be done eventually. For those who have this phone, I'd suggest not to update, as this update deletes any rooting applications installed on reboot/restart.
Once rooted, I don't really mind waiting, I would like to put a Custom Rom on this phone, but not sure what options are available. I see posts about the Coolpad Note/Dazen/Shine/Rogues etc. Though nothing about this one, though spec wise it's not too far off from the others.
I'd be grateful if anyone could help with confirmations, information, on how to select a correct custom rom for this device and the steps to do. Also if there's any info on how to root this current version, even better.
Thanks!

Gave it a shot. Failed, as well. I've tried most of the popular rooting apps. King Root, Kingo, One click, and so on as well as a few Chinese rooting apps, as well. They've all failed.
The previous version was rooted with King Root though.

In that case you have to root your phone manually by unlocking bootloader. But as a Chinese phone don't need to unlock bootloader. But you need to have a recovery that can install flashable zip. Most of this phone have built in recovery. You can go to recovery by turning off your phone and press power+volume down button. Then see if there's any option to install zip.

There is an option there to install zip files. Though I do not know the process well of doing so. Most zips I have tried have failed. I did install GMS several days ago using the install zip method. Not certain if that was a good idea though...
If I can find a flashable zip then I wouldn't mind giving it a try. I've restored this phone countless times hoping to go back to factory firmware, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It seems to go back to the most recent updated OTA which makes it unable to root with regular apps at the moment.
Not sure what the closest phone model for this phone would be. If you have ideas I'm willing to give them a shot an report back in with any findings.

Letting you know the steps I did, just in case I did it wrong.
- Downloaded the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
- Placed it on the phone internal memory (recovery only recognizes internal)
- Powered off
- Went into recovery mode
- Then tried installing the file.
Then the mentioned error.
Should I have restored the phone to the most recent OTA, cleared cache, data, first etc?

Also failed.
I guess it's too difficult to root this new version/update. If only I could downgrade then it might be possible to root.

You can upgrade or downgrade your android version without rooting but it has to be official firmware. If you want to flash custom rom you'll need custom recovery installed and unlocked bootloader.

I think you didn't get what I said. You are already using updated android version. You can't update more if your service provider don't give anymore updates. And I also searched very hard to find official firmware for your device but unluckily your phone have very less information in web.So there's no one haven't uploaded any firmware or no discussion available for your device. You can though upgrade your device using custom rom but you need to have root and custom recovery .without root you can't install custom recovery.

Hahh... So after combing through various Chinese sites and using my limited knowledge of Chinese, I've got a ROM (previous version before there update), got the appropriate flashing software (CoolPad Download Assistant) and have successfully flashed it after disassembling the phone to get into fastboot.
Good news:
I am Rooted... again. With KingRoot.
Bad news:
The CoolPad has there update in the background. Found where it's stored and deleted. The Phone re-downloads the update.
A restart will probably update this phone making it un-rootable again.
Edit: Deleting the update file before immediately restarting gives an error in the update on restart, so I guess that's a good thing.
For now, I will just operate for now without turning the phone off. Though I do have the necessary files if I have to flash it again.
Rooting is the first requirement you mentioned... what do I need to do next? Download what? Compatible ROM's etc?

If you have no interest in custom rom and now you can root your device then you don't need to do anything right now.And you are saying new update automatically downloading, just in download setting select "do not auto download"or"update via wifi only"this will prevent from auto downloading update.

Not sure if there's any custom rom available for your phone You can somehow install custom twrp recovery but the main problem is custom rom availability. But I would suggest you to use xposed instead installing custom ROM.You can customize and control your device using xposed installer.

Installed Xposed Installer, but the Download section is empty.
I am in China currently, so a lot of things may be blocked. A VPN should fix this, I believe.
What things I should install. Xposed Installer is new to me.

A pain to root: cheap allwinner a33 tablet (Please help me!)

Hello, there!
The precious thing is a cheap 7" allwinner a33 tablet. By apps its recognized as Astar y33.
It is a 16Gb Storage Tablet with 1 gb ram. I bought ist for 42€. :cyclops:
Unluckily i only can install apps on a 1 gb internal storage and the 16gb are only for media or movable apps. It should have 1gb ram but Aida64 said it has 512 installed.
I urgently need to give root to it, to make it work -and enjoyable. I allready tried out:
-Kingoroot (also via PC)
-Kingroot
-Iroot
-Towelroot
-SuperOneClick.exe
-and various desktop based one click rooters
and all failed.
I dont know what i can try next.
I have the ADB driver, but not a certain fastboot interface driver, which i could not find in the internet at all. I have a 64 system.
Many people with similar tablets could root them with Kingo root or Iroot, but it worked not for me and my tablet must be somehow different, it also did not had any bloat or malware on it.
Please, please, give me a hint what i could try next. :silly:
These are the specifications of the tablet:

Root method for recovery
Good afternoon!
To apply the patch-and for rooting you device, it is necessary to get into Recovery.
So try to load into recovery by this way: "Settings-> Recovery and reset-> Recovery Mode".
After rebooting, you see some menu where you should select drive(sd card) on which the pre-recorded file "Update.zip"
After finishing, restart your device use first point of menu.
Now you have a root, it is necessary to update the SuperSu by selecting "OK".
P.S.
I didn't test it but find it on some good forums. Send privet massage to me if you have some questions.
Root_patch
Good evening!
I tried it out right now.
It was flashable but the su binary wont let me update. How should i update the su binary? Do i need another flashable zip?
Unluckily the root checker says that root permission is not granted yet.
Update: I flashed a current Supersu update.zip with my stock recovery mode.
It says "installtion abortet".
I dunno. I ll have to use the tablet to cut vegetables. *joke
Wow, seems like suddenly root was granted.
Last thing was: I tried to root it with Iroot via PC.
It installed some adware on the tablet but the root checker still said no.
Then Kinguser detected some malware in the notification are. I fixed this and noticed that i also could remove system apps with Kinguser.
Then i retried apps that recommed root like rashr and to my surprise - root was granted suddenly!!!
Woah! Somehow im not so sure what rooted it now, because i already tried everything five times before already and it didnt work ^^
I think, it could be this:
Kingroot has shown me before, that my device is not supported. I could kinda request compatibility, which i did.
Maybe this magic happend unnoticed and suddenly it was rooted.
Oh ****.
Afterwards i flashed some recovery.img someone told me its for TWRP for the tablet.
Since then, its in a bootloop.
How to fix this? For now, i will just wait until the battery has run empty. (That fixed beeing stuck in fastboot mode before)
THANKS!!!

Hey dude, you are awesome! I could not find anywhere this file. At last my tablet is rooted. I have been looking for firmwares for these tablets everywhere and, as they are really old and chinese crap now, all mirrors I find are down. Where did you find this zip? maybe I can find a firmware there. I need to flash it from 0 because I did a mess with adb and deleted every system app
Hello everyone
do you have an update.zip SuperSU-v2.82
Best Regards
Great !
