Call recording - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Can anyone test call recording. I use call recorder but there are several others that have native (line in and out) recording. If someone could try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder I would appreciate it.

I know this thread is old but I use acr with no issues what so ever...calls are nice and clear...

Weird. I replied to this myself after I got the phone. Call recorder by @SkAlvex works perfectly. It even records while using Wi-Fi calling which my s6 could never do. Thanks for the reply though. I personally like call recorder better mainly because I am used to it and additionally because there is a link to recordings from within each contact.

BoldBeast recorder is another option that has almost always worked with every phone. They have great support and it's free. Root is not required (not attainable anyway, except on the EU version, for now).
I've tested it on the G5 and it works (though I haven't given bluetooth recording a try yet). Wi-fi calling recording does not work though.
Edit: Actually it works with Wi-Fi calling! Sweet!

If anyone is still reading this - don't upgrade to Android 7.
I did upgrade my LG-H860 (dual sim G5) and then of course discovered that call recording APIs are either removed or hidden - no software works!
Now looking for a way to downgrade back to Android 6.0.X....

Try ACR. It is working on my H850 (no root). If you can't make that app work with default settings, just choose mode "Android 7 all (a)"

I don't know why, but ACR does not work on my LG-H860 - the other side is very quiet. I'm using Boldbeast Call Recorder now. it's manual recording (unless u buy the license), but it works perfect on my phone even with this android 7.0. Thank God!

Call recording on ics?

Anyone get call recording to work in ics?

I assume it needs kernel support to be done. And we won't have the ability to add it until HTC release the ICS kernel source for this phone which won't be until after the official update.
Bump!
I just (finally) got around to installing Scott's CleanROM 4.5 Pro edition. (It totally rocks Scott. Good work. Donation soon to come.)
Anyway, I've been looking around for a way to record phone calls. I want both my voice and the person on the other end. I don't want any of that speakerphone **** - I want a digitally captured stream of all the audio. It's legal in my state to do this.
Anyone with any ideas how to accomplish this?
Call recorder but its not free its by valex or something like that

This works just fine (100%) for incoming and outgoing sound, at the same time, on Newt's XXX 3 (super old version).
So it's a Sense 4 ROM. But this works, without issue, with all default settings. Test it on Sense 3.6? It's definitely ICS though here, and it works. As far as I know, my kernel is virtually the same?
Hi there,
I started playing with callrecorder yesterday.
The app's thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643
There's a trial version in the first link of that thread.
It works fine on my rezound (s-off, Nils' Business sense 3.6 v5.7)
One problem I'm seeing is that it *always* records calls. There's settings that are supposed to make that not happen but those settings are being ignored on my phone...
I am interested in a call recorder app. but all of them I have tested only record through the mic so the other side of the conversation can not be heard that well. Does anyone have a call recorder app that works without using the mic? If so what rom are you using? Thanks in advance.
An alternate method of recording calls is to use Google Voice for all your calls. It has a built-in system allowing for calls to be recorded on their servers and then accessible just like your voicemails are from the Google Voice app or the website.

[Q] Call recording on the Xperia S

I recently made the switch from a samsung galaxy s II to the xperia S and one feature i miss the most is having call recording.
now i know that it is usually a hardware issue but i know for a fact that samsung and sony ericsson(now just sony) have never had issues with call recording and never locked it down.
When i got my phone, i went on an app hunt in the market for an app that would record both sides of a phonecall automatically, loud and clear. Unfortunately, i haven't been able to find one yet.
does anyone know of an app they have tried and found to work on the xperia s?
bump... i hope someone knows of such an app...
I haven't got my Xperia S yet but once tried "Record My Calls" with my X10 and I remember it worked pretty fine. You can try it or search for other app oout there.

You'll need 2way call recorder patched Kernel and root...!!! In short, use DoomKernel...!!!
GS2 can do that with Total Recall without root. How can Xperia S do so? I have to keep warranty. Thanks

There are many "call recorder"... Which developer's you are using?
Hi, i also cant find any app. Tried at least ten and none works? if someone have found one, link would be welcome!
I'm buy & using CallRecorder v1.2.7 all working properly.
My Xperia S is rooted ICS.
Try it!
I too had an app on my X10 that allowed for 2 way call recordings, I cant recall the name off the top of my head (perhaps it simply was Call Recorder). What I do recall was it had a very simple icon of a red dot on a black background; perhaps that may help someone.
Thanks.

[Q] Skype video on S3?

I cannot get video to work on Skype on my S3. Video is enabled in Skype Settings but still no joy. Has anyone else got this problem or know how to fix it? I can't find any thread about this. This is a deal breaker for me. If Skype doesn't work I will reluctantly return the S3 during my 14-day trial period.
Thanks
Works fine here. Just tested video calling 3G and WiFi with no problems.
Finger trouble or firmware version?
Skype v2.8.0.920
Edit:
The other party (Recipient) must also have video enabled.
You could also lower the video quality and test.
Sent from my GT-I9300T using xda premium
works fine here as well.
Thanks for the replies. Still a mystery. I have the latest firmware and the other party definitely has video enabled. I switched to other devices and it worked fine. The front camera does work but there's no option to select when I make a Skype call (over WiFi). If the other party calls me I can see the options but it still doesn't work and returns to a black screen. Lower-res test done as well but no luck.
I just can't see what's preventing a video call. I can do this quite successfully from my tablet, old phone and desktop but not the S3. I have uninstalled and downloaded the software again but it still doesn't work. Grrrrr!
Try a video call on Gtalk to test. Obviously check video is enabled in its settings for both parties.
If working, try wipe data/cache in settings/applications/downloaded or all/Skype. You well need to setup Skype settings, login etc again.
If still no good, reinstall Skype
Sent from my GT-I9300T using xda premium
I did clear the cache. And one other thing: I can't close Skype. I have to use a Force Stop to quit the application. I've tried this several times and it always remains running unlike any other program I close (eg, swiping to the left from the running programs list). It doesn't show up in the task manager as a running program but the icon is still there on the top left of the phone. I wonder if some other process/application is interfering with it.
It's reassuring that Skype is working for others. I'm on O2 - could they have set up something to prevent Skype working? That's not my experience with other phones from O2 and I doubt that is the problem.
So did you try Gtalk (to confirm the problem is just with the Skype app) and also reinstall fresh from Google Play?..........
To exit, just our press the [-> button on the top right hand corner of the main start page

as i can remember, we have to wait for an update from skype... sgs3 is not yet totally compatible with the latest skype... it's not yet supported..it works but have some glitches... that's the case when i bought the htc sensation before... i waited for the update that includes sensation to the supported device.. only then that it worked flawlessly...
i feel you man... i'm still using skype but i only view their video on the other side, if i open mine, evrything turns black... lol...
it seems that if u use ur front camera, everything malfuctions...

I haven't been able to find anyone to use gTalk with - everyone I seem to know has an iPhone/iPad!
Still no luck with Skype. I'm new to Android so not entirely confident about flashing Rom. I'll try to find out from Skype if there is an S3 issue.
Thanks everyone for suggestions so far

Thanks, I'll check them out.
I've got what seems to be a fairly simple problem with Skype, so I thought I'd post here because Skype users are likely to read it ! :
Outgoing voice-only calls seem to work OK, but when I answer an incoming call, the GS3 screen goes completely black (regardless as to whether the phone was by my face or not).
I tried pressing buttons etc, didn't seem to be able to get it back until the caller hung up.
On a plus note, the call quality was great, but I really do need to be able to hang up the call!
Am I missing something obvious?
According to my tests, Skype video works when I'm connected to WiFi but I was never able to do the same under 3G.
I'm on a high bandwidth connection..but the person on the other side keeps saying that the video quality is ****ty. I have the Video Qualty setting on 'High'. The recieving quality is just great. Its only the video sent from my end. Is it the same for everyone? or just me?

Maybe you're upload speed has something to do with it, also tinge of day and network congestion (mobile towers overloaded).

Hi, is that Honor 20 Pro can add call recorder?

Hi, is that Honor 20 Pro can add call recorder? saw Emui9 have the solution, but not sure the magic ui suitable or not.
EMUI/Magic UI has its own built-in call recorder, however it's not enabled in certain regional firmwares. You can re-enable it by installing the APK of the system app though.
It can be found here.
I installed it on Honor View 20 running 9.1.0.229 and it works perfectly.
Hi, I'm using ACR, same as on older phones, without any problems. I installed this version: com.nll.acr_31.1-unChained-10311_minAPI15(armeabi-v7a)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com

Once installed, the built-in call recorder won't be a standalone app. Instead it will appear as an option on your screen during a call. Recorded calls will appear under the voice memos app.

Question Fake Mic access?

Mic access QS is fake, Can anyone explain what is this?
Doesn't look like the native recording app on my Pixel 6, don't even know for sure what phone he's using. So he's inferring that the mike is still working for that app at least when it is marked as blocked in the shortcut. I just trried to duplicate this on my phone using the stock recorder app and the mic was indeed blocked correctl;y. It is also blocked correctly from phone calls. I found that out yesterday when someone called me and they couldn't hear me.
So, what is this? Either he's found a way around the mic access block, or it''s a faked video. Since the display doesn't show any waveforms on the "playback" , I'm calling fake video.

I thought your question was about the permission but just now I saw it clearly that you just canceled and it records voice on WhatsApp. Go to phone settings and apps -> WhatsApp -> permission and change mic to not allow! Then restart your device and see if you get the same problem.

The "Mic Access QS" should be blocking the mic permission for the whole device even if the permission is enabled for specific app.
Is from a 3th party App.. I had the same with SnapTube..
