Hi guys. I have a cheap no name generic android tablet with android 4.4.2 kitkat.I modded the firmware with dragonface and added some su files and binaries. I also updated busybox to the lastest version. It is a cheap amazon tablet. I would like to know how to make it faster. Ex. Ram, speed. Etc
I have tried different ram swapping apps but I dont think they are working.I also went into developers options and turn off the transition scales and various settings and set the backgroud limit to at most 2 processes.I dont see much if a difference in speed either. The tablet is rooted with kingroot. So my question is how can I speed it up. Or how can i get the root swap apps to work.So far I have tried a cpu control app that lets you change the cpu frequency but it doesnt work to well. Can i get a root swap app to work on my device or is there a app to speed up this cheap tablet? Thanks for the help and sorry if this post was so long.Am also sorry if this is a stupid question. ?
Sorry i meant kitkat

With my Sony Ericsson x10 mini pro i want to do this...
- Delete all the forced installed programs like roller-coaster 0.0 time scape, ca gold rush, geotags, google main, latitude, maps, neo reader, peggle, places, playnow, road sync, setup guide, talk, track id, wise piolet etc... you get the general idea they loaded this lovely light and portable mobile with a loada crap ill never use i just prefare my emulators and Sims 3 HD tbh and all that is working perfect tbh i couldn't believe sims 3 3d worked on it its just a lovely small android phone.
- load apps from my memory card
- Possibly unlock the mobile to all networks
- OVER CLOCK 1GHZ would be nice ( nice to know is it battery rapes / makes phone unstable if it is possible also )
- One more thing i installed something called GDE i think its called to make my android theme look better but is their an easier way to make the phone look more like other android phones?? because flicking between apps is so slow and annoying with the normal screen but with this GDE thingy i installed it seems a lot easier and less laggy.
I know rooting is the first step but how exactly and what exactly am i looking to do after this to begin the first steps to doing this...
I'm not completely computer illiterate so just point me in the right direction and I'm sure ill be able to figure it out from there any help is appreciated thanks.
another developer question, if i wanted to make my own custom modifications exactly where should i be looking into starting doing this I only know basic C# atm so just wondered
Btw if you did read all this sorry for blagging on appreciated a lot.
thanks guys.
First root your phone - plenty of info about how to do that in the forum
Easiest way to remove pre-installed apps is to install titanium backup from the market and uninstall via that - There are others, but I have used Titanium since it was first released and imo it is spot on. This needs root. Be careful what you remove there are alot of "apps" that are vital for the phone to run properly etc. getting rid of the games/general bundled apps is fine though.
Load apps from sd card - you need apps2sd once you have rooted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804574&highlight=apps2sd
Unlocking - get an unlock code from your operatoror from a third party website if you can find one
Overclocking to 1ghz - you would melt your phone probably. The processor runs at 600mhz stock - a 400mhz overclock would be unstable and dangerous to say the least. Until the kernel sources are released/hacked this isn't going to happen anyway - I haven't seen this done on the X10 mini/pro yet.
If you want your phone to look more like other android devices, try a different launcher - Launcherpro is my recommendation - I have used many and for me this is my favourite.
Android apps are written in java. Android code is based around linux.
google/read/search this forum, but also search other handset forums, as you'll find much more activity there.

Thanks, but on my nokia N900 i overclocked that permanently to 1.2GHZ and it didn't even heat up tbh i think it should be safe if you did its just about stability at 1.2ghz it used to error ( rarely ) but at 1ghz it worked perfectly and the phone without being overclocked was 600mhz well that's with the N900 anyway but with Mobile technology overclocking isnt soo bad normally for the heat side of things.
Never the less thanks for the Info.
Is launcher pro like the GDE thing I have or will that like permanently replace my home screen?
Hi guys, came from iphone 5 and before i had galaxy S3 and now galaxy S6 international. Rooted my sm-920f using pingpong. Everything was smooth and went as expected.
SuperSU seems to be working properly. I can access system files copy paste and edit them. CPU controlling apps seems to be working normally. When i set the min and max for each core it works accordingly for the 1500 mhz and the 2100 mhz cores. Yet i cannot find values in memory when trying to edit games' values. Yes i can edit a memory location but i cannot find my values. No matter what i use. Gamegardian seh or cheat engine. I cannot find games data im looking for to modify. I always start getting results but they get reduces to zero. Im useing cheat engine on pc and gamegardian and seh on other smart phones for years. So its not that i dont know how to search. Even the unknown initial with changed and unchanged get to zero before im even close to get a short list of memory locations. What i know from my experience with S3 this is not a full root. Because once i had this with S3 and i had to use another rooting program back then to fix it. The thing is i dont want to trigger the knox counter. So any chance that someone knows a fix for this

Sorry i forgot to mention but my phone has 512 mb ram, 1ghz cpu with broadcom videocore IV proccesor
Pokemon GO requirements
Hi there,
i found this,
Supported devices
Android
Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1
(Android N will not supported until the official Android release)
Preferred resolution of 720x1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
GPS and Location Services
Intel CPUs are not supported
Source : "https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/221958248-Supported-devices"
Personaly i know that you need at least 2gb of RAM to run this app
Best regards
Well you are right about that, but im asking if there is a way to run it with low end phone with kitkat and maybe somehow reduce the ram usage so it can launch correctly not crash
EDIT: guys i actually found a good settings for gl tools to launch the game try you guys too, this may help the crash
P.S. idk xda app doesnt let me to upload screenshots so i will type all of this (oh boy this will be long :c)
Disable anti alliasing
Force 16 bit rendering
Optimize glsl shaders
Enable texture decompression-all
Enable texture recompression-all
Downscale textures-0.5x
Enable simple mapbuffer emulation
Enable use packed stencil buffer
Enable fix fbo attachment sizes
Enable decode sRGB
Enable Lower depth buffer size limits
Thats it! You can thank me later and tell if you still have problems
I again forgot to mention, dont worry about the long loading and it might crash the first time like i got when i tried to enable gps, but i rebooted the phone and wolla!
Doesnt recompression actually take more CPU? Because it has to compress graphics.
Might be better for RAM but worse for CPU.
Please correct me.
Well yes and no. You see pokemon go has a big requirement to run the game, and you also need more ram to just open the game. So the only option here is to use the recompression that will free more ram to launch the game, but the only thing i need to solve is how to fix the lag for now :/
