hi guys
I just have a question
IF my void is 1 but I"m on an official ROM, and I want to update from Lollipop 5.1.1 to MM 6.0.1 by Samsung updates ( form the check update option in the mobile)
I checked and an update is downloading right now
so will it cause me problems just because my void is 1 and I'm updating from samsung to next android ? or it cause no problem ?
thanks
Nope it won't cause any issues. The Knox has been tripped but if you are on fully stock firmware it will install perfectly..

Hej Folks,
this may sound silly but I have some questions on updating the SGS2 firmware
1) Where, except on XDA, can I find the official updates by Samsung?
2) Is there any warranty void flashing those?
3) Do I have to flash them one after another to gain all updates or can I just flash the latest one?
4) What is the latest official Update? I read on XDA something about 05.07 but I do not know the correct name right now.
5) How is it flashed? By Odin or via Kies? Or is it just a user preference?
6) Is there a warranty void getting root?
7) Would my SGS2 be rooted after flashing an update if had root on it before?
Sry for all those question. I come from my "old" HD2 and there i just didn't care about warranty and the danger to brick my phone

1) Where, except on XDA, can I find the official updates by Samsung?
kies if you want to stick to official updates for your country
2) Is there any warranty void flashing those?
no if they are official
3) Do I have to flash them one after another to gain all updates or can I just flash the latest one?
flash the latest one you don't need to go up in steps
4) What is the latest official Update? I read on XDA something about 05.07 but I do not know the correct name right now.
install kies and connect your phone and it will tell you if you are on the latest firmware
5) How is it flashed? By Odin or via Kies? Or is it just a user preference?
either but a lot of users myself included prefer odin (more stable)
6) Is there a warranty void getting root?
yes
7) Would my SGS2 be rooted after flashing an update if had root on it before?
no any stock firmware update will wipe root
Custom kernel will give you an increase in the custom rom counter that needs setting to zero for warranty .
Samsung release a firmware its forwarded to the phone provider who test and eventually upload to Kies .
XDA pick the firmware up usually as soon as Samsung release it .

Thanks! That answered a few of my questions as well.
2) Is there any warranty void flashing those?
no if they are official
In fact I guess yes (only if you don't use Kies and ROM which is not for your product code).
Some days ago I asked Official Samsung Support about flashing official ROM update on my phone. Their answer was that any change to the phone firmware done outside the Official Samsung Support Center (or acredited I guess) will void the warranty. This was a statement from Samsung Poland. So you might want to write/give them a call in your country for verification.
Other thing is that If you revert the phone to the conditions before flashing (e.g. counter, stock rom for given product code, etc.) they will have no way of telling. But then the reason for returning the phone for repair might very well prohibit such revert.
cheers
Will my warranty will be void if i install ics leaked version???
Are you sure on this?
leaked firmware is from samsung..
Meaning a modded rom based on a leaked Samsung rom?
Meaning the yellow warning triangle during boot?
I dont see a problem with that..
Since its almost impossible to brick S2 phones, I have had my share of
experiences modding mine, and ALWAYS been able to use Odin for fix my messups no matter what..
IF I ever need a Samsung service, I will of course just use Odin, and install a
original kernel, or worst worst, install a full official ICS before deliver to service
Leaked as in beta test roms yes warranty void .
Leaked as in official Samsung ICS released roms no warranty is valid .

Hello guys,
I've gotten my new s6 edge 64 gig sapphire black just today .
I noticed 5.1.1 updates are rolling over to AT T s6 .
So I would like to know if it's advisable to root my device on 5.0.2 or wait for 5.1.1?
How easy would it be to update to 5..1.1 assuming I rooted my 5.0.2 now.
I'm currently running E3 .
And how easy is it to root/unroot as I am unaware about knox security .
Please enlighten me .
Thank you.

just flash your firmware again
If you chose to root now you cannot update thro your device anymore, but simply, just download the proper firmware version for your device, then flash it thro odin (it wont trip knox), or alternatively you can update thro smart switch (the new version of Samsung Kies) when it reaches your country.
Hi everybody.
I own a Samsung Galaxy A3 (model SM-A300FU) running android KitKat and I want lollipop, rooted with KingRoot (a one click root app ) because I wanted to keep Knox 0*0 . But I got system status : custom so can no longer have OTA (I tried Wanam Xposed but it changed nothing). I also want to get stock ROM because I got my operator ROM (Bouygues, a French operator) because on SamMobile the French ROM is lollipop and Bouygues ROM is KitKat. I also don't care about my root because it's so easy with KingRoot.
So my question are :
1. Should I flash KitKat France ROM and use OTA then re-root or flash Lollipop France ROM directly and root ? Will it be unstable and will I have bugs ?
2. Will I need to do wipe data/factory reset ? If yes will I lose all my apps, contacts, settings, etc... ?
3.With France ROM will I have system status : custom ?
4.I want to keep my warranty, will I have problems with flashing France ROM ?
Thank You.
1. I flashed the french Lollipop rom on my a3 (german, but not branded) and it runs very smooth, no bugs!
2. I flashed it via Odin and I did not have any data loss or any settings were changed.
3. I don't know what you mean with "system status" but for me the device status is "official". Maybe that's what you mean. (settings -> about the phone ->status)
4. I don't know what happens to the warrenty, sorry
Hello
I flashed the latest firmware available for my S6 edge (SM-G925F) : G925FXXU3DPDP (XEF).
I've never used Android 5.1.1 on my phone and I asks to you if downgrade is possible at this point (latest BL I think) and if yes, how ?
Thanks you for your further replies
Bye.
I Think Once u Flashed The latest Firmware U can't Go back
Because Of bootloader
Bt U can try Download Android LP And boot loader And put Ur phone in Download Mode Flash with odin
i updated on 6.02...
didn´t like it...
flashed back to 5.1.1 stock without problems (odin)
Hello poci,
You were running with which firmware ?
It's easy to go back to lollipop?
I'm reading some comments off people wich say No, ando some less who say Yes.
i made an OTA update from 5.1.1 to 6.0.2... but i didn´t like the battery drain on 6.0.2......(or 6.0.1 i don´t know anymore)
after clean install of 6.0.2....there was no change at all...
then i went back to 5.1.1 by flashing a stock 5.1.1. firmware with odin...no trouble or anything else...
If flash fails, is my device will be hardbricked ???
if you have the right firmware...i would say "no"
so why should it fail?
i used this firmware for my o2 edge
G925FXXU3QOLD_G925FTEF3QOL1_G925FXXU3QOJB_HOME.tar
Beceause newest bootloaders blocks downgrade, you was in which firmware on Marshmallow ?
don´t know exactly...60.1 then
when 6.0.2 blocks downgrade...
