Help with Rooting Zoostorm SL8 mini.

Hello could anyone please help me with rooting my zoostorm sl8 mini running ICS. I just don't know which rooting program to use and with one will work. I have search the web now for days and cant find anything.
Please Help!
Thanks:good:
Use the Qemu exploit
This can device can be rooted using DoomLords Xperia script. I have ported the script to linux as well for Ubuntu users,
The original script is here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
I haven't tested the Windows script, but I assume it will work as I haven't changed anything, the Linux script has been fully tested and I have successfully rooted the sl8 mini using it.
For Windows see below:
1) Download the attached zip file and Super1Click zip file ( http://download.cnet.com/SuperOneClick/3000-2094_4-75447027.html ).
2) Unzip the zip files into a new folders (you can use 7-zip for this : http://www.7-zip.org/)
3) Power on the Zoostorm Sl8 Mini and boot it normally.
4) Go into settings, developer options and tick USB debugging
5) Go to settings, security and tick Allow installtion of non-Market Apps
6) Connect the table to the PC with a USB cable.
7) When the new Hardware Found Wizard find the Android device and can't find a driver, select install from speficic location and browse to drivers folder under the folder you just unzipped the Super1click file to.
8) The driver should install from here and will show as an Acer Android device.
9) If Windows complains about the driver not being signed tell it to continue anyway.
10) Reboot the Windows PC if requested by the Hardware installation Wizard.
11) Discconect and replug the USB cable.
12) Open a windows command prompt
13) Navigate to the folder where the unzipped rootsl8mini.zip files are.
14) type runme.bat
15) Read the blurb on the screen and press any key to root your tablet.
16) The Sl8 mini will reboot several times, after it has reboot for the last time your sl8 mini will now be rooted.
For Linux (Ubuntu Precise Pangolin)
1) Install Android SDK, make sure the folder where adb is located is in your shell path variable. See link for Ubuntu instructions (http://www.liberiangeek.net/2012/07...-androidsdk-in-ubuntu-12-04-precise-pangolin/)
2) Download the attached rootsl8mini.zip file and unzip it into a folder.
3) Go into the folder where you unzipped the file and make the runme.bat.sh file executable. (Myhost:$ chmod 777 runme.bat.sh)
4) Power on the Zoostorm Sl8 Mini and boot it normally.
5) Go into settings, developer options and tick USB debugging
6) Go to settings, security and tick Allow installtion of non-Market Apps
7) Connect the tablet to the PC with the USB cable.
8) Execute the runme.bat.sh script (Myhost:$ ./runme.bat.sh)
9) Read the blurb on the screen and press any key to root your tablet.
10) The Sl8 mini will reboot several times, after it has reboot for the last time your sl8 mini will now be rooted.
Enjoy
Thank you, do I go to unzipped file using command prompt?
Thanks
I have tried to root the tablet and it wont install the drivers, it keeps saying that the file is corrupted or missing.
I'am running windows 8 64.
any suggestion's why it is doing this?
Many thanks :good:
I`m a noob to the Zoostorm. Are there any JB / CM10 ports for it?
Are they known as another name elsewhere in this forum?
Can anyone shed any light on this? Fantastic write-up by mikel by the way. Will test as soon as the mother-in-law gets hers for xmas from us!
Superb MIKEL543 i have done it, thank you so much, it took me a bit to figure it out but i managed to do it YAY..lol.
Now the problem is i cant watch and films from google play or flixster as it say that it cant because my Tablet is rooted .
i have tried everything and cant get it to work! :good:
easy way to root : http://zoostormsl8.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/root-zoostorm-sl8-mini-3310-9506.html
download and update the zip
Bought this tablet as a gift for my father and assumed that connecting it to a usb keyboard would be straightforward (yeap android noob ) . My question is , is that even possible? Is there a custom rom that can be installed, I presume after rooting the device that enables usb host mode?

[GUIDE] Send, receive and manage files on your watch from the phone using Bluetooth

Hi everyone, I got my watch 2 days ago and rooted it in the first two hours and since then keept trying different android apps on the watch and since then I managed to find a way to sideload apps without a computer and I am sharing it with you.
Note: This guide assumes you have your watch connected to your phone, your phone connected to the internet, a computer around and adb installed on the computer and some abilities of using adb commands to pull files and installing apk's and some basic linux commands like "cd".
Note 2: Links to the apps are in the 2nd post.
Note 3: List of working apps and tips in 2nd post.
Note 4: Guide to using adb from the phone and connecting the watch to a new device without a format in the 3rd post.
Here are the steps:
Install ASTRO Bluetooth Module on the phone.
Install Bluetooth file transfer on the phone.
Connect the phone to the computer and pull the ASTRO Bluetooth Module apk file from data/app.
Connect the watch to the computer (adb over bluetooth or over USB) and sideload the ASTRO Bluetooth Module you just pulled from your phone.
Open the ASTRO Bluetooth Module app on your watch and tic the OBEX FTP SERVER option.
Open the Bluetooth file transfer app on your phone and switch to the Bloueooth tab (the one with the blue Bluetooth sign).
You will see your G Watch in the Cache list, click on it.
On the list that will open click on "File Transfer Profile (FTP)" and wait for it to connect.
Now the contents of the /sdcard folder of the watch should be shown on the Bluetooth tab.
To send a file switch back to your other tab and long-press on the file you want to send and click upload.
To receive a file from your watch go to the Bluetooth tab and long-press the file you want and click Download.
In the bluetooth tab you can also fully manage your sdcard folder from your watch so you can delete, move and copy any file or folder on your watch,
Enjoy.
Also in case you want to sideload apps to your watch you first need to send them using the method above and then do this:
Install terminal Emulator on your phone and sideload it to your watch the same way you did with ASTRO Bluetooth Module above.
Sideload Minuun keyboard for wear or an other keyboard if you think you can use it.
Optional, usefull only if you have root: Install ES File Explorer on your phone and sideload it to your watch.
To install apps open Terminal Emulator on your watch and go to the folder your apk file is in using the "cd" command and then do: "pm install <appname>.apk" changing <appname> to the name of your apk file.
If you choose to install ES File Explorer you can do that much easyer by enabling root acces in it and the option to automatically install and uninstall apps.
And if you want to uninstall apps directly from your watch do this:
Open Terminal Emulator.
Issue the command: "pm list packages -3" and find the package name of the app you want to uninstall
Issue the command: "pm uninstall <packagenamehere>" replacing <packagenamehere> with the package name of the app you want to uninstall.
NOTE: Uninstalling apps using ES File Explorer does unfortunately not work because it asks if you want to uninstall the app and the buttons are not on the screen so you can't click on the "Yes" option.
Done.
Here you go guys, have fun, hope this helps someone else as much as it does help me, will also try to find a way to connect the watch to the adb daemon on the phone via bluetooth and if I manage to do that I will surely post a guide.
Resources:
Astro Bluetooth Module: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metago.astro.network.bluetooth
Bluetooth File Transfer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.medieval.blueftp
Terminal Emulator: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
ES File Explorer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
List of working apps:
-All the ones that the above post tells you to sideload to the watch
-The apps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-wear/general/list-sideloaded-android-wear-apps-t2908106
-MiXplorer-better as a file explorer in my opinion because of the list view, does not have music player and text editor so you still need ES File Explorer for that, also crashes when you exit-link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Tips:
-If an app you want to sideload uses holo theme it will most probably not work, I think wear has holo removed
Thanks to:
@EpicLPer for creating that thread of sideloaded working apps.
Someone managed to execute adb commands from the phone to the watch, look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-wear/development/adb-smartphone-to-android-wear-t2987568
Also on this thread someone managed to connect the watch to a different phone without a factory reset on an older android wear version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../app-reset-wear-client-switch-phones-t3058962
But it's not that easy anymore, that you now need to do is:
First execute the (adb shell "pm clear com.google.android.gms && reboot") command
And then after the reboot execute the (adb shell am start -a android.bluetooth.adapter.action.REQUEST_DISCOVERABLE) command to be able to connect your phone
I have also made shell scripts to do that directly on the watch using terminal emulator and will upload them soon.
Great stuff sir!

Sorry I was without a PC for a week and didn't see your message, updates on what are you asking about?
If you are asking about more apps I didn't really get more apps working (android wear is just missing too many things), only some video players but they break the app "Wear Mini Launcher" for some reason, and if you are asking about using adb via bluetooth to debug the watch from the phone that's also something I didn't get working and I did try all the ideas I had.

If you would have read the whole post you would have seen that it only needs root to install apps using ES File Explorer but unfortunately after the 5.1 update the "pm install" command doesn't seem to work anymore (with or without root) it just gives a "FAILED_INVALID_URI" error.
Other news is that someone on the wear general forum actually managed to run adb over bluetooth so you can now install apps from your phone directly using adb instead (but it does require root on your phone) I will post the link in the 3rd post soon.

Do you need root on your watch to execute the "adb install" command command from the PC?

Install from unknown sources option missing.

Hello. This is my first post in this forum. (I'm Indonesian)
So I was trying to sideload an app to a ZTE ZXV10 B860H. I managed to get the apk file onto the box, all I need to do was installing it. The problem is that the system by default blocks app installations from unknown sources, and I can't find the setting that allows installations from unknown sources. Anyone knows how to enable installations from unknown sources? It's running Android 10.

I supposed you already have google play store installed.
Here's what I do
1. Install developer tools from google playstore on your TV
2. Open it and go to developer option
3. Enable USB Debugging
Install ES File Explorer on the STB
1. Install ES File Explorer from apkpure to your android phone
2. Connect your STB to the same WiFi as your phone
3. Go to ES File Explorer from your phone
4. Press on the 3 bar on the top left corner and search for network, press that and go to Android TV
5. Your phone will search for your STB and it will appear as IP Address
6. Click on it
7. Allow the debugging on your tv (I set it as always trust for easy installation on the future) and wait untill the installation done
8. Now your STB will have ES File Explorer
How to install apps to STB
1. Download the apk to your phone
2. Select the apk from ES File Explorer
3. Press More (the 3 dots on bottom right corner)
4. Select install to Android TV
5. Wait for the installation
6. Enjoy your app
Notes :
You can only install apk from this way since it won't ask for unknown source installation therefore you can installed Aptoide TV to your STB, BUT your Aptoide TV CANNOT install any other apps.

Windows 11 Install Solution / Fix for TPM, Secure Boot, and Ram / Drivers

Step by Step Guide to Install Windows 11+Bypass TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and Ram Check
Hello everyone! This guide will explain how you can get a copy of Windows 11 Insider Preview without having to deal with enrolling your Microsoft account via the Windows Insider Program! This is a UUP dump copy of Windows 11 ISO file. You do not need to have a Activated Windows 10 copy to do this! There is a lot of debate and speculation going around dealing with Windows 11 not running on a older PC without TPM 2.0, Secure boot, and 4GB ram. This method / fix is a registry edit that injects bypass code that will overlook TPM, Ram, and Secure Boot into the registry " IF " you get the infamous "Windows 11 cannot be installed on this PC" . This is a temporary fix and I assume this will be patched upon first non-developer release of windows 11 arrives! If you want to use this guide to just get a stand alone copy of Windows 11, go ahead.
How do I get the copy of Windows 11?
1. Open your favorite browser and navigate to
( www.uupdump.net )
2. Click on Dev Channel.
3. Find ( Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000..51 (co_release) amd64 ) and click the link.
4. Pick your Language.
5. Choose the version of Windows 11 you want to download and DE-select the other versions.
6. On the next page, go ahead and click " Create Download Package "
7. Open the file after it has finished downloading.
8. Open a NEW folder and Navigate to the Local Disk C Folder.
9. Once you are inside Local Disk C, create a NEW folder and name it ( Win11 )
10. Open up the file you downloaded from uupdump again and copy and paste all the files to the brand new folder you created inside the C directory.
11. Run the Windows Command File named ( uup_download_windows )
12. Congrats! Windows 11 is now downloading.... This will take a little bit of time
13. Once the command prompt is done downloading and compiling, you will be prompted to close the command prompt... The Windows 11 ISO file will now be inside the folder you created inside the C Directory.!

Now that you have yourself a copy of Windows 11, we can now explore the different options of installing. You can actually take the ISO file and mount it to your PC and install Windows 11 right from your Desktop, you can choose the route of using a USB Drive to install, or you can use a CD but lets be honest.. a CD?
Method #1 USB 8GB / Clean Install
1. Grab another device such as a phone, tablet, or another PC and bring this guide up on that device.
2. Shut Down your PC and boot into your BIOS.
3. Load Setup Defaults and Exit Saving Changes. ( You might have to thumb around for a minute to find some of these options in future steps ).
4. Your PC will restart and Boot into BIOS again.
5. If you have option to Enable TPM, do it. If you don't have this option, do not worry. Continue to the next step...
6. Set the boot mode to UEFI. If you have option for both UEFI and LEGACY, choose UEFI.
7. Enable Secure Boot if you have the option.. If you don't have the ability to change, don't worry. Continue to the next step...
8. Exit BIOS and save changes. Your PC will boot up to OS now.
9. Open your browser and navigate to https://rufus.ie and download.
10. Plug in your USB Drive and open Rufus.
11. Inside Rufus, select your USB drive you want to use for installing Windows 11 and then find the Windows 11 ISO file that you downloaded and let Rufus create the install drive..!
12. Keep your USB Drive plugged into your PC and turn off the power then boot into BIOS again.
13. Find the Boot Menu inside of your BIOS and select the USB drive to boot first.
14. You should boot to the Windows Installer now. Choose your Language and continue.
15. Select " I don't have product key " and continue.
OK, so If you made it to this point and you are faced with the message of " Windows 11 cant be installed on this computer " don't freak. This portion of the guide is only for the people who are stuck with the message above.. If you don't see this message, continue to step #16 please..!
How do I Bypass the Windows 11 TPM 2.0, Ram, and Secure Boot check?
1. Open the Command Prompt by pressing SHIFT and F10 Key at the same time..
2. Now type " Notepad " inside of the CMD and press enter.
3. Now copy and paste or type out the following text once the notepad loads in...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig]
"BypassTPMCheck"=dword:00000001
"BypassSecureBootCheck"=dword:00000001
4. Now, click on file at the top left and select save as and click on This PC and find the USB drive or any other internal drive and make sure to click save as type (all files) at the bottom of the window and name the file
" Bypass TPM, Secure Boot & RAM Check.reg " then click on save.
( When you save this file, make sure you are able to access again. I don't care where you save it but it needs to be accessible )
5. Once you saved, click on file again, click on This PC, and browse to the registry file you just created. Once you are in the directory where the registry file was saved, find the drop down menu at the bottom and select All Files again and you will see the newly created Bypass registry file you created.
6. Right click on the Bypass Registry file and choose the " Merge " option and click OK on the following prompts then close all the windows except the install window. Click the back arrow button inside the install window, and continue the setup from step #15 please.
16. Select Windows Version you want and click next.
17. Accept the EULA and continue... Now you select Custom Install and you will see all of your drives on your computer. With this being a clean install, we will want to delete each drive partitions ( Make sure you double check what you are deleting and understand whats happening ), then click on Unallocated space and click next.
18. Now, Windows 11 will install and you go about your way!

Method #2 : Install inside of Windows 10 OS
1. Make sure you already have followed the steps to download a copy of Windows 11 before we continue.
2. Right click on the Windows 11 ISO file inside of the ( Win11 ) folder and click mount.
3. Navigate to This PC and you will see a DVD Drive named ( CPRA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5 ) . This is the Windows 11 ISO file mounted to your system now.
4. Open up the Local Disk C directory and create a new folder named ( Win11Install )
5. Go back to where the ( CPRA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5 ) mounted drive is, right click, and open the folder. Copy and paste all files into the new ( Win11Install ) folder you created inside of the Local Disk C directory.
6. Once the files are done copying into the ( Win11Install ) folder, open the folder, right click setup.exe, and run as administrator.
7. Installer will open, It will say " Checking for Update & Checking your PC "
Intermission
Some of you will slide through with no issues and others will be faced with
" Windows 11 can't be installed on this PC "
If you receive this message, the installer will tell you what you are missing
TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, or RAM Requirements
If you don't see this message, continue onto step #8 please...
My computer is telling me I don't meet the requirements!
What do I do?1. Open your browser and go to the following link. MEGA Download Link
2. Once downloaded, find the file, extract to your desktop or wherever you like.
3. Open the ( Win11Install ) folder located inside the Local Disk C directory, find the sources folder and open that.
4. Once you are inside the sources folder, you will need to replace the old " appraiserres.dll " with the new one you just downloaded.
5. Copy the new .dll file and paste into the sources folder. You will get a message asking to replace and replace file in destination.
6. Close all folder and right click on Desktop and refresh the system.
7. Open up folder and navigate to This PC and EJECT the Windows 11 ISO file.
8. Now open Local Disk C directory and navigate once more to the ( Win11Install ) folder, open, and right click setup.exe & run as administrator.
8. Continue to follow the installer and Install!! Everything is straight forward from here as long as you know how to use a PC

One more thing to keep in mind everyone...Windows 11 is obviously in Developer mode and Microsoft will be pushing these cumulative updates out frequently. Hopefully we will be getting a new solid build soon and I will adjust the means of upgrading to them if needed. For now, these are the 2 best ways to use Windows 11 if you don't choose to enroll in the Windows Insider Program, don't have a genuine copy of Windows 10, and/or your PC doesn't meet the new" Requirements" for TPM 2.0, Ram Check, and Secure Boot Microsoft has laid upon everyone...
Good Day

R U damn sure that Windows 11 being installed this way will be fast on PC's with less than 4GB of ram?
Finally! Installed without issue. My machine meet all the requirements except for the cpu, which is a intel 6th gen.

Depending on how big of a HDD you have, I could make a step by step guide on how to dual boot Win10 and Win11 if you want to try it out. And another thing is that Windows 11 is in Developer Mode now so there will be things that don't seem as good and polished quite yet
You can run it no problem but I cant promise you it will be everything you hope a dream about

I got the message this pc can’t run Windows 11. Said not the right processor. No TPM. No legacy boot. Wrong motherboard. I am using SDD drive for Windows. I know this can cause installation issues with Windows. Usually there is a serial boot driver for Windows.Swapped with the Mega file. Then followed the steps given. Message was gone. Windows installer completed the check up then asked how to install. I chose to keep all files and apps. The install began. After a few seconds pop up said install failed. Progress never changed. Stayed at 0. Is there an explanation for this?
win Health check says i cant run win 11, but when i go to system - about this is what i see.

xiaomi stick 4k - unable to sideload Apps Android 11

Hi,
I just bought a mi 4K stick. Android 11
Everything works like a charm except sideloading apps.
Enabled Unknown Sources.
Disabled Google protect.
Granted permission for Downloader and File commander.
Downloader: whenever i click on the file and open the apk to install, it will show the progress bar for 2 seconds and then close. no error.
File Commander: Whenever i try to install the file, progress bar showing staging app and then nothing happens.
I tried the same APK on my TCL Smart TV and it worked like a charm. Android 9
Any hint would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Others have mentioned the same issue. You could try a third party installer app like "downloader".
Or, using adb install or other system level tools.
Do you find solution?
Hi,
did anyone find a solution for this problem ?
a Quick update.... I managed to install apps using ADB Command.
first, enabled developed mode and usb debugging.
enabled unknown source
run adb command from windows laptop and install the apk ( adb install apkname)
https://sites.google.com/site/tweakradje/devices/xiaomi-mi-tv-stick?authuser=0 was very helpful....
i also got them installed thru adb , but when restart all of these apps will go away, its really annoying
to install the apps , follow these below steps :
from the CMD
adb.exe connect "IP address of your android device"
cd " location for your apk apps "
adb install " appname "
done
please if anyone find a solution to make these apps stands , share it with us
got it done successfully
now it runs as it should be
i only did a couple factory reset , then it works
most important , when download the downloader app, make sure you provide full accesses and grant permission for unknown app before open the downloader app
and the same for any other apps , download any desire app from downloader then install it , provide permissions then use the app
that's it

No need for this.
Dear Assad. Can you please have a step by step in how you did it. It would be appreciated
Hello All. I was able to side load some of the apps using adb. I was not successful to install everything but I did not try to see why. I was able to load the apps that I needed and that is why I did not go further. Also, experts might have an idea why I was not able to do it. nonetheless, here is what I did
1- Download the ADB file and rename it to .CMD __TV_STICK_MODS.CMD__
2- Once downloaded and renamed to say"tv_stick_mods.cmd" (just an example), double click the file to run it.
3- It will prompt you to download the adb.exe and it will take you to the site where you can download it from. You will have to download this file "platform-tools_r34.0.1-windows"
4- Once downloaded, you need to extract the the file in a folder where you know the location and add to the same folder the "tv_stick_mods.cmd" (all have to be in the same folder)
5-Download the apps that you want to side load (no need to put them in the same folder)
6- Go to your Mi box stick and enable developers option and enable USB debugging
7- Also from your Mi box go to the setting of your network connection and obtain the IP address for your Mibox (should be something like 192.167.XX.XX)
8- Run "tv_stick_mods.cmd" again and it will prompt you to enter the IP address for the Mi stick. Enter the IP address that you have obtained in #7 and it will try to connect and it will show you a message on the TV to allow PC to connect (Make sure that you are on the same network as the MI stick)
9- Once permission is granted, then go back to PC/ Laptop and you will see a message that says "this does not seem to be a mi-stick do you want to continue"
10- hit yes and it will take you to another menu where you can explore all the options that you can do with the Mi stick from your laptop.
11- for installing apps, choose option 8 (copy / Install/uninstall)
12- In the next menu chose install and it will prompt you to choose the app that you want to install
13- Go to the location where you downloaded the app and choose the app that you want to install
14- It will prompt you if you want to install that app or not. Hit yes and let it install (should not take more than 10 Secs)
15- once done, it will show success and hit any key. Once this is done, go back and see if your app has been installed.
Hope this procedure helps you guy like it did to me and please if there is any flow in what I did please correct me
